The studies on chloride diffusion of concrete have been done so far by many researchers. However, there are few studies that present the effects of other attacks on chloride diffusion properties. Therefore, in this study the experiments are carried out to show the effects of combined attacks, such as carbonation, sulfate attacks, on chloride diffusivity in concrete. The specimens are made by varying cement type and replacement ratio of fly ash. The results show that cement type and replacement of fly ash do not affect greatly chloride diffusion properties. And concrete treated by combined attacks show a little higher chloride content than those treated by chloride solution only. Therefore, the effects of these factors should be taken into account in predicting the penetration of chloride ion in concrete.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate chloride ion attack durability of concrete structure having experienced the high temperature fire. Mechanical properties and anti chloride ion diffusivity of concrete specimens were measured which have experienced of 2 hours heating at $200{^{\circ}C},\;400{^{\circ}C},\;600{^{\circ}C},\;800{^{\circ}C}$. The coupling FE model of thermal transfer and chloride ion diffusion was built to predict the life expectancy of RC structure using the property values by a series of experiment.

Recycled aggregate is an aggregate that satisfies the quality as an aggregate by crushing waste concrete and passing it through a separator. The government grants a floor area ratio of up to 15% and building height mitigation when more than 25% of the recycled building materials are used. In addition to environmental protection issues, it is necessary to actively utilize recycled aggregates that meet the standards to secure the business feasibility of buildings. This study attempted to derive the results according to the substitution rate by measuring the chloride ion diffusion characteristics based on the electrophoresis method.

This paper investigate that the effect of the concrete containing mineral admixtures(pozzolanic materials such as fly-ash, ground granulated blast-furnace slag, silica fume and meta kaolin) on the resistance properties to chloride ion invasion. The purposed testing procedure was applied to the concrete added mineral admixtures for $3\sim4$ replacement ratios under W/B ratios ranged from 0.40 to 0.55. Specimens were immersed in $3.6\%$ NaCl solution for 330 days, and penetration depth, water soluble chloride contents and acid soluble chloride contents were measured in 28, 91, 182 and 330 days. Then, diffusion coefficient were calculated using total chloride contents. As a results. the kinds of mineral admixture and replacement ratios had a great effect on the resistance property of the concrete to chloride ion invasion compared with the plain concrete. And the optimal replacement ratios of mineral admixture had a limitation for each admixtures. The amount of acid soluble chloride ions and water soluble chloride ions were varied with the kinds of mineral admixtures and the penetration depth from the concrete skin. Chloride diffusion coefficient of each concretes decreased with the time elapsed. and the diffusion coefficients of the concrete immersed salt water for 330 days had a establishment with the compressive strength measured before immersing.

When concrete structures are exposed under marine condition for a long time, the steel in concrete is corroded due to the ingression of chlorides in the sea water. Because the damages of corrosion resulting from the chloride ion are very serious, many research have been performed. In this study, it was experimentally investigated that the mechanical and diffusion characteristics of concrete substituted with ordinary portland cement, silica fume and blast furnace slag to investigate the chloride ingress characteristics with concrete quality. Chloride diffusion coefficients in concrete shows increasing tendency as w/c ratio increase. Also test results indicate that blend of admixture become lower chloride diffusion coefficients in concrete as compared with normal concrete.

An objective of this experimental research is to investigate the diffusion characteristics for chloride ion of concrete subjected to sulfate attack. For this purpose, concretes with three types of cement such as ordinary portland cement(OPC), binary blended cement(BBC), and ternary blended cement(TBC) containing mineral admixtures were made for water-binder ratios of 32% and 43%. The concrete specimens were immersed in sulfate solution for 365 days, and then the resistance against chloride ion penetration of them were estimated by using NT BUILD 492. It was observed from the test results that the resistance to chloride ion penetration of concrete subjected to sulfate attack was greatly decreased than that of standard curing concrete under the same age.

Most of chloride diffusion models based on finite difference method (FDM) could not express the diffusion in horizontal direction at each elevation. To overcome these weakness, two dimensional chloride ion penetration model based on finite element method (FEM) to be able to combine various multi-physics simultaneously was suggested by introducing moving mesh technique. To avoid the generation of mesh being able to be distorted depending on the relative movement of water level to static concrete, a rectangular type of mesh was intentionally adopted and the total number of meshes was empirically selected. The simulated results showed that the contents of surface chloride decreased following to the increase of elevation in the top part of low sea level, whereas there were no changes in the bottom part of low level. In the DuraCrete model, the diffusion coefficient of splashed zone is generally smaller than submerged zone, whereas the trend of Life365 model is reverse. Therefore, it could be understood that the developed model using moving mesh technique effectively reflects $DuraCrete^{TM}$ model rather than $Life365^{TM}$ model. In the future, the model will be easily expanded to be combined with various multi-physics models considering water evaporation, heat of hydration, irradiation effect of sun and so on because it is based on FEM.

When the RC structure repaired by patching repair method, which method refilles with patching repair material after removes degraded area, It is necessary to determine chloride ion's permeation from outside of the RC structure repaired by patching repair material. Therefore, in this study, damage from sea environment of structure was predicted, moreover, diffusion coefficient of concrete also determined to figure out rebar's corrosion and concentration of chloride ion. RCPT(Rapid Chloride Permeability Test) was used for ditermination of patching repair material's diffusion coefficient, also connection between material thickness and effect of chloride ion's permeation was examined in analytically. Results which derived by experimental test was used in FEM(Finite Element Method) and equation suggested by JSCE to predict concentration of chloride ion in different distance from surface.
This paper aims to study the effect of measurement methods and cracking on chloride transport of concrete materials. Three kinds of measurement methods were carried out, including immersion test, rapid migration test and steady-state migration test. All of these measurements of chloride transport show that chloride ion diffusion coefficient decreased with the reduction of water to cement ratio. Results of the immersion test were less than that of rapid migration test and steady-state migration test. For the specimen of lower water to cement ratio, the external electrical field has little effect on chloride binding relatively. Compared with the results obtained by these different measurement methods, the lower water to cement ratio may cause smaller differences among these different methods. The external voltage can reduce chloride binding of concrete, and the higher electrical field made a strong impact on the chloride binding. Considering the effect of high voltage on the specimen, results indicate that results based on the steady-state migration test should be more reasonable. For cracked concrete, cracking can accelerate the chloride ion diffusion.

Both damage and unsaturated conditions accelerate the transport of erosive media inside concrete. However, their combined effects have not been fully investigated. A multiscale mortar model using representative volume elements is developed, capturing the number and distribution in each phase. Afterwards, mortar damage microstructure evolution is simulated in the tensile process. Finally, the unsaturated mortar transport is predicted and analysed. The results indicate that damage significantly affects the diffusion process in the early stage, while the transport performance is weakened due to the obstruction of the nontransport phase in the later stage. The higher the saturation and the more connected pores, the faster the diffusion rate of chloride ions. Chloride ions spread around the cracks in a tree-like manner along. The model can very well predict the chloride ion transport performance of unsaturated and damaged mortar.
