10개월 이하 영아를 둔 취업모의 양육지원체계, 자녀가치관 및 심리적 안녕감이 둘째아 출산계획에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Child Care Support, Value of Children and Psychological Well-Being on Second Childbirth Plans for Employed Mothers with An Infant of 10 Months or Younger)

  • This study investigated the pathways of factors affecting 173 employed mothers' second childbirth plans. Participants were all employed working mothers with an infant under 10 months old. The hypothetical model used in this research proposed that workplace childcare support, social support, value of children and parenting stress of employed mothers will directly affect second childbirth plans. Additionally, workplace childcare support, social support, value of children, marital satisfaction and job satisfaction will indirectly influence second childbirth plans as a result of parenting stress. The results of this research demonstrated that value of children and parenting stress were the factors which directly affected second childbirth plans of employed mothers. In addition, workplace childcare support, social support, marital satisfaction and job satisfaction indirectly influenced second childbirth plans as a result of parenting stress. This study suggests the need for the establishment and development of workplace childcare support and the need for enhancing the value of children. This research further suggests the need for policies aimed at increasing psychological well-being and decreasing parenting stress for working mothers who are contemplating second childbirth plans.

제주도 전통 산육속(産育俗)의 전승 (Heritage of Traditional Childbirth and Childcare on Jeju)

  • The characteristics of traditional childbirth and childcare custom on Jeju were studied by interviews of 134 elder women over 60. This established the nature of traditional custom of prenatal care, delivery, child rearing, and traditional ceremonies for baby as well as popular beliefs. The survey of current childbirth and childcare practices included 168 parents of kindergarteners. Results showed that traditional childbirth and childcare custom of Jeju is based in self-reliance, effectiveness, labor, and popular beliefs and that the heritage consisting of traditional postpartum foods, bathing of the newborn baby, use of a cradle, shamanistic prescriptions, and acupuncture is prevalent today.

결혼이주여성의 자녀 출산.양육 정책에 대한 비판적 고찰 : 젠더관점과 다문화관점을 중심으로 (Childbirth and Childcare Policies for Marriage Migrant Women and Their Characteristics)

  • 본 연구는 다문화가족의 임신 출산 및 자녀 양육 정책의 관점에 대한 문제제기에서 출발한다. 즉, 다문화가족의 출산 및 양육 관련 정책은 젠더 관점과 다문화 관점을 동시에 견지해야 한다는 것이다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 이 두 관점에서의 다문화가족 출산 및 양육과 관련한 정책 관점과 내용을 점검한 후, 현재의 관련 정책들을 살펴보고 향후 정책 방향과 개선점을 제시하였다. 연구 결과, 향후 관련 정책은 젠더 관점에서 볼 때 크게 네 가지 점에서 새로운 방향설정과 정책 개선이 필요하다. 첫째, 현재의 정책들은 결혼이주여성의 건강을 좁은 의미에서의 모자보건에 치중하고 있는 한계가 있으며, 따라서 결혼이주여성의 생애주기 전반을 고려하는 접근과 지원으로 확대될 필요가 있다. 둘째, 현재 결혼이주여성의 재생산권 보장과 관련한 정책이 강화되어야 하고, 셋째, 임신과 출산에 대한 지원이 생물학적 건강 유지의 성격을 넘어 정신 및 심리적 건강 등 다양한 차원의 지원으로 확대될 필요가 있다. 넷째, 다문화가족의 자녀양육 지원 정책이 대체로 이들을 '자녀양육의 전담자'로 설정하고 있는 한계가 있다는 점에서 성별분업 체계를 넘어서는 정책이 필요하다. 다음으로, 다문화적 관점에서는 소수자인 결혼이주여성에 대한 출산 및 양육 정책이 다양한 문화적 배경과 차이들을 인지하는 방향으로 나아가야 하며, 그러한 점에서 첫째, 결혼이주여성의 건강권의 확보와 소수자로서 차별을 받지 않도록 관련 법령들을 개선해야 한다. 둘째, 관련 정책들이 보다 문화적 차이를 고려하도록 강화되어야 하고, 셋째, 자녀 양육 지원 정책을 결혼 이주여성의 한국어 문제가 아닌 자녀양육 환경의 개선과 지원으로 방향을 설정해야 한다.

기혼여성의 자녀가치관과 추가출산의향 간의 관계에서 출산장려정책의 조절효과 분석 (The Moderating Effects of Birth Rate Policies between Korean Women's Values of Children and Their Intentions for Subsequent Childbirth)

  • 본 연구는 기혼여성의 자녀가치관과 추가출산의향의 관계에서 출산장려정책(보육료지원, 육아휴직제도)의 조절효과를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 "2015년 전국 출산력 및 가족 보건복지 실태조사"자료 중 총 2,143명의 자료를 선택하여 위계적 다중회귀분석과 조절회귀 분석방법을 적용하였다. 배경변수(교육수준, 소득, 연령, 기존 자녀 수)를 통제한 후, 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 이상적 자녀수, 도구적 가치관과 정서적 가치관의 순으로 추가출산의향에 양(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 '육아휴직'은 추가출산의향에 유의한 영향이 없는 반면에, '보육료 지원'은 음(-)의 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 '보육료 지원'만이 '도구적, 정서적 가치관'과 추가출산의향의향의 관계에서 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 효율적인 출산율 제고를 위해서는 무엇보다 자녀가치관을 높이기 위한 출산장려 문화정책이 필요하며, 아울러 추가출산 가능성이 높은 여성들을 대상으로 자녀수 등을 고려한 맞춤형 지원이 필요함을 시사한다.

자녀출산 전후의 부모들을 위한 양육여건 및 부모교육 실태 조사 - 대전광역시를 중심으로- (A Survey on Child Rearing Conditions and Parent Education for Parents before and after Childbirth)

  • The purpose of this study was to obtain a fundamental data for developing a policy concerning women and child rearing and a parent education program for young parents who are around their childbirth, a period crucially important both for the parents in terms of the role adjustment, career management, and family finance, and for the infants in terms of its physical and psychological well-being. The subjects were 509 mothers before and after childbirth currently living in the Metropolitan City of Daejeon. Data were obtained through questionnaires and interviews in two major areas of pregnancy-delivery-childcare and parent education. Data were analyzed using SAS, mostly through frequency analysis, percentiles, t-tests, and F-tests. Results of descriptive analyses were organized along the following areas and issues: Pregnancy(family planning, regular check-ups, difficulties, prenatal education, costs, etc.); delivery(type of delivery, delivery related experience, costs, clinic/medical institute of choice, worries/problems, help/supports, etc.); postpartum care(place, kinds of help and helper, costs, postpartum care facilities, etc.); childcare circumstances(place, carer, time schedules, childcare centers or facilities feeding and weaning, etc.); husband's attitudes and involvement in the overall process; working mothers(maternity leave, temporary retirement for child rearing, etc.); and, parent education(family planning, pregnancy, delivery, postpartum care, child rearing, areas or issues needing parent education, facilitative and hindering factors to ideal parenting, etc.). Differences between groups of pregnant mothers and postpartum mothers, working- and non-working mothers, groups of different income levels, mothers and fathers of different educational levels, mothers of first pregnancy(or childbirth) and experienced mothers were also analyzed. Several conclusions with suggestions were drawn in relation to the need for strong implementation as well as developing of policies on women and childcare and for developing a new parent education program for parents before and after childbirth.

저출생 문제해결을 위한 한자녀 기혼여성의 후속 출산의향 예측: 머신러닝 방법의 적용 (Predicting the Subsequent Childbirth Intention of Married Women with One Child to Solve the Low Birth Rate Problem in Korea: Application of a Machine Learning Method)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to develop a machine learning model to predict the subsequent childbirth intention of married women with one child, aiming to address the low birth rate problem in Korea, This will be achieved by utilizing data from the 2021 Family and Childbirth Survey conducted by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs. Methods: A prediction model was developed using the Random Forest algorithm to predict the subsequent childbirth intention of married women with one child. This algorithm was chosen for its advantages in prediction and generalization, and its performance was evaluated. Results: The significance of variables influencing the Random Forest prediction model was confirmed. With the exception of the presence or absence of leave before and after childbirth, most variables contributed to predicting the intention to have subsequent childbirth. Notably, variables such as the mother's age, number of children planned at the time of marriage, average monthly household income, spouse's share of childcare burden, mother's weekday housework hours, and presence or absence of spouse's maternity leave emerged as relatively important predictors of subsequent childbirth intention.

산후조리원 이용여부에 따른 초산모의 신체적, 심리적 건강상태 및 모성역할적응의 변화양상에 관한 연구 (The Changing Pattern of Physical and Psychological Health, and Maternal Adjustment Between Primiparas Who Used and Those Who did Not Use Sanhujori Facilities)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare levels of postpartum fatigue, depression, childcare stress, and maternal identity according to postpartum period between primiparas who used Sanhujori facilities and those who did not. Methods: The research design was a longitudinal descriptive study using self-report questionnaires. Participants were 55 healthy primiparas who delivered at one of 3 hospitals in Chungnam, 21 using Sanhujori facilities and 34 not using these facilities during the first three weeks after childbirth. Data were collected from October 2008 to April 2009 at three measurement points, 2-4 days after childbirth (T1), 4-6 weeks (T2), and 12-14 weeks (T3). Data were analyzed using the SPSS 17.0 WIN program. Results: There was a significant difference in childcare stress between the two groups at 4-6 weeks after childbirth. Postpartum depression and childcare stress at 4-6 weeks were significantly higher than those of the other postpartum periods, while maternal identity was significantly lower. Conclusion: Child care stress is the most important issue among women who use Sanhujori facilities and the 4-6 week period after childbirth is very difficult to primiparas. These results indicate that nursing interventions for primiparas in Sanhujori facilities should focus on reducing childcare stress. Furthermore proper follow-up programs at 4-6 weeks are needed to decrease the difficulties in adjustment by new mothers.

산욕후기 산모의 산후우울 영향요인 (Influencing Factors of Postpartum Depression between 4 to 6 Weeks after Childbirth in the Postpartum Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors of postpartum depression among parturient women between 4 to 6 weeks after childbirth. Methods: The participants were 146 healthy postpartum women who delivered at three women's health hospitals in Chungnam province in 2008. Data were collected by a self-report questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 14.0 program. Results: There was a significant difference in postpartum depression depending on the educational level. Postpartum depression was significantly correlated with childcare stress, social support, infant fussiness, Sanhujori satisfaction, subjective health condition, and sleep satisfaction. Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that postpartum depression was significantly predicted by childcare stress, Sanhujori satisfaction and subjective health condition. These variables explained 49.0% of the variance of postpartum depression. Conclusion: It is concluded that a nursing intervention for postpartum depression should focus on decreasing childcare stress and improving Sanhujori satisfaction. further studies are required to verily and substantiate the effect of the developed nursing intervention programs.

자녀 양육비와 둘째 자녀 출산의도 (Childrearing Expenditure and the Intension to Have the Second Childbirth)

  • This study investigated the association between the expenditures for childrearing and the intention to have the second childbirth applying the recursive equation models. The major results were as follows. First, more than half of the households with one child did not have an intention to have the second childbirth. Second, about 40% of the household expenditure was spent for childrearing. About 36% of the childrearing expenditure was spent on the childcare and education, and about 64% on purchase of goods and services for child. Third, the variables which had a significant effect on the intention to have the second childbirth were child's age, mother's education, father's income, the private educational expenditure, and consumption expenditure for child. The intention to have the second childbirth did not have a significant effect on the level of childrearing expenditure. The implications for the family policies were suggested.

산모의 산욕전기와 산욕후기 피로 예측요인 - 삼칠일을 기준으로 - (Predictors of Postpartum Fatigue Between Early and Late Postpartum Period in Parturient Women - Divided by 3/4 Weeks of Postpartum Period -)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the predictors between the early and late postpartum period in parturient women. Methods: The Subjects were 399 healthy postpartum women who visited the obstetric clinic at 5 hospitals for a routine check up after childbirth. They were divided into two groups: one was in the early postpartum period, the first three weeks after childbirth (n=107), the other was in the late postpartum period, four to six weeks after childbirth (n=292). The data were collected by using a self-report questionnaire from July to September, 2006. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 12.0 Win program. Results: There were significant statistical differences in age and parity between the two groups. Postpartum fatigue was significantly predicted by postpartum depression and age in the early period, and postpartum depression, sleep satisfaction, and childcare stress in the late period. The mean scores of childcare stress and perceived infant difficulty in the late period were significantly higher than those of the early postpartum period. Conclusion: Postpartum depression was the most important predictor of postpartum fatigue regardless of the postpartum period. In addition, especially in the late period, sleep satisfaction and childcare stress were significant predictors of postpartum fatigue. Based on these results, primary nursing interventions for reducing postpartum fatigue should focus on postpartum depression management, and nursing interventions for increasing sleep satisfaction and decreasing childcare stress would be helpful for management of postpartum fatigue in parturient women in the late period.
