Output Characteristic Analysis of Small Hydropower Plant (소수력발전소의 출력특성 분석)

  • The output performance characteristics for surveyed sites were analyzed, using developed model. It consists of two main parts, the deciding flow duration characteristic of river and performance prediction model to estimate the output characteristics of small hydropower plants. As a result, It was found that the flowrate concerning with 25% of time ratio on flow duration curve can be selected to design flowrate of small hydropower plants, and the output characteristics of small hydropower plants having overflow dam are different from large scale hydropower plants.

  • This paper addresses on a wind power system with BESS(Battery Energy Storage System). The concerned system consists of four parts: the wind speed production model, the wind turbine model, configure capacity of the battery energy storage, battery model and control of the BESS. First of all, we produce wind speed by 4-component composite wind speed model. Secondly, the maximum available wind power is determined by analyzing the produced wind speed and the characteristic curve of wind power. Thirdly, we configure capacity of the BESS according to wind speed and characteristic curve of wind speed-power. Then, we propose a control strategy to track the power reference. Finally, some simulations have been demonstrated to visualize the feasibility of the proposed methodology.

  • To investigate the effect of interference current between pairs and quasi-particles, we have calculated the change I-V characteristic curve of resistively and capacitively shunted Josephson junction with external microwave by simulation of modified Stewart-McCumber model. Such rf-induced constant-voltage steps and the immunity against to noise were found to be changed in the presence of interference current.

  • [ $ZrO_2$ ] gate dielectric thin films were deposited by radio frequency (rf)-magnetron sputtering and its structure, surface morphology and electrical peoperties were studied. As the oxygen flow rate increases, the surface becomes smoother. The experimental results indicate that a high temperature annealing is desirable since it improves the electrical properties of the $ZrO_2$ gate dielectric thin films by decreasing the number of interfacial traps at the $ZrO_2/Si$ interface. The carrier transport mechanism is dominated by the thermionic emission.

  • In the stroke sensitive shock absorber, the oil path is formed along the internal cylinder surface to make the eli flow during piston's upper-lower reciprocation movement. With constraint to the conventional shock absorbers which show one dynamic characteristic curve, stroke sensitive shock absorber shows two kins of dynamic characteristic according to the stroke, In the study, analysis on the damping force generation process and dynamic behaviour characteristics of stroke sensitive shock absorber is performed, the valve characteristics being considered more precise information about design and damping performance analysis.

  • It has been reported that many slope failures in unsaturated soils are mainly caused by downward infiltration due to rainfall. The rainfall characteristics could be an important factor, and more predictable slope failures can be achieved by considering more reasonable rainfall conditions. So, a need exists that these trends of infiltration in weathered soils, which is commonly found in Korea, are assessed by considering rainfall conditions based on phenomenological approach. In this paper, numerical analyses of unsaturated soil slope under rainfall conditions are presented based on the soil-water characteristic curve in the laboratory and huff method. Then the performance of unsaturated weathered soil slopes was evaluated under various conditions after applying the effect of overburden pressure on SWCCs and fines contents. The results demonstrated that the rainfall conditions using Huff method can be very effective and the proper application on analysis is very important to enhance the prediction on unsaturated slope stability.

  • The characteristics and prediction model of the shear strength for unsaturated residual soils was studied. In order to investigate the influence of the initial water content on the shear strength, unsaturated triaxial tests were carried out varying the initial water content, and the applicability of existing prediction models for the unsaturated shear strength was testified. It was shown that the soil - water characteristic curve and the shear strength of the unsaturated soil varied with the change of the initial water content. A sample compacted in the lower initial water content needs a higher suction to get the same degree of saturation while the shear strength of a sample with the lower initial water content displays a lower value. In order to apply the existing prediction models of the unsaturated shear strength to granite residual soils, a correction coefficient, α, on the internal friction angle, ø'was added.

  • A ZnO varistor with reference voltage 250V/mm was fabricated through the control of particle size in slurry and the variation of sintering conditions. It was found that to measure the flatness of the V-I characteristic curve in the small-current region and the flatness of the V-I characteristic curve in a large-current region was improved nonlinearity of the fabricated ZnO varistor. According to the IEC 60099-4 was measured the accelerated aging test and high current test of the distribution class surge varistor which is excellent in respect to the property of ZnO varistor.

  • The earthquake resistant design concept allows the nonlinear behavior of structures under the design earthquake. Therefore the response spectrum method provided in most codes introduces the response modification factors to consider the nonlinear behavior in the design process. For bridges, the response modification factors are given according to the ductility as well as the redundancy of piers. In this study, among influence factors on the nonlinear seismic behavior, the randomness of artificial accelerograms simulated with different durations, the pier ductility represented by the inelastic behavior characteristic curve and the regularity represented by pier heights are selected. The influence of such factor on the seismic behavior is investigated by comparing response modification factors calculated with the nonlinear time step analysis.

  • In this paper we discuss the Construction Of 3 new extension field of characteristic odd and analyze the complexity of arithmetic operations over such a field. Also we show that it is suitable for Elliptic Curve Cryptosystems(ECC) and Digital Signature Algorithm(DSA, 〔7〕) as an underlying field. In particular, our digital signature scheme is at least twice as efficient as DSA.
