  • We investigated the effect of Ar ion sputtering on the surface electronic structure of indium tin oxide (ITO) using X-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS and UPS) measurements with increasing Ar ion sputtering time. XPS measurements revealed that surface contamination on ITO was rapidly removed by Ar ion sputtering for 10 s. UPS measurements showed that the work function of ITO increased by 0.2 eV after Ar ion sputtering for 10 s. This increase in work function was attributed to the removal of surface contamination, which formed a positive interface dipole relative to the ITO substrate. However, further Ar ion sputtering did not change the work function of ITO although the surface stoichiometry of ITO did change. Therefore, removing the surface contamination is critical for increasing the work function of ITO, and Ar ion sputtering for a short time (about 10 s) can efficiently remove surface contamination.

  • The ring compression test has been widely employed as an experimental means to determine the friction factor. The calibration curves are obtained by the rigid-plastic finite element analysis for various work-hardening exponent and strain-rate hardening exponent. The effects of work-hardening exponent and strain-rate hardening exponent are thoroughly studied and discussed from the finite element computation. The change of friction factor during height reduction in ring compression is also discussed. Then, the method to estimate the change of friction factor during ring compression is proposed.

  • The change in work function was studied on Indium-Tin-Oxide(ITO) surface after O-plasma treatment using $\gamma$-Focused ion Beam($\gamma$-FIB). As the surface of ITO experienced more O-plasma treatment, both the surface resistivity and the work function got higher. Auger Electron Spectroscopy identified the increase of oxygen as well as the decrease of Sn. The rise of work function and surface resistivity is considered to be due to the change in oxygen and Sn on the surface of ITO.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the converged influencing factors on the stages of exercise behavior changes in shift work nurses. The subjects were 120 shift work nurses working in hospitals who understood the purpose of the study and agreed to participate in the study. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, $X^2$ test, and multiple logistic regression analysis. The exercise motivation factors of shift work nurses had a significant effect on stages of exercise behavior change (${\beta}=2.480$, p=.022), health status perceptions(${\beta}=1.151$, p=.013). Social support factors (${\beta}=1.819$, p=.002) and marital status (${\beta}=-1.820$, p=.004) also had significant effects on the stages of exercise behavior change of shift work nurses. In other words, subjects with change in exercise behavior had 11.9 times higher motivation and 3.1 times higher health status perception than those without change in exercise behavior, social support was 6.1 times higher, and unmarried subjects showed 16 times showed higher than that of married subjects. Therefore, it is important to develop a strategy to practice continuous and regular exercise in consideration of the exercise motivation, social support, and health status perception of the nurses in shift work.

  • With the dynamically changing environment of society, managing change is the vital element of organizations's survival and growth. Health care organizations have expended enormous resources to restructure patient care delivery. Despite the growing literature describing these organizational innovations, there is a paucity of credible data that reflects systematic measurement and evaluation of such changes. This study examined the nurses' psychological response toward the work process redesign, newly introduced by the nursing department in a acute care hospital. The aim of the study was to figure out how nurses's general perception of change and perceived attributes of change affected their acceptance of change during the organizational transition. This was descriptive- correlational. The sample for the study included 50 head nurses and 135 staff nurses. Data was analyzed using SPSS PC+, version 10.0. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, the mean score of the perception of change was 71.2(SD=13.8) with the range of 0-100, which means nurses generally perceived change positively. There were significant differences in perception of change by gender and education level. Head nurses perceived change more positively than staff nurses. The higher education level showed the more positive view of change. Second, among the perceived attributes of change, trialability had the highest mean score, which means nurses perceived the change more positively if it is testable on a limited basis. Relative advantage was perceived the most negatively. Finally, factors influencing the acceptability of the work-process redesign were perceived comparability, complexity, relative advantage, and observability, which accounted for 43.7% of the variance in the acceptability of change. This study evaluated the preliminary effects of the nursing process for reengineering, focusing on nurses' acceptability towards change. The usefulness of this research study was to determine the factors influencing acceptance of organizational members during transitional periods of change and to suggest effective strategies for increasing adoption as well as for decreasing resistance to change.

  • The oriental life change unit(LCU) models differ from the western LCU model in human behavior, life style, ideas, culture, and psychology factors. Especially, the cause and effect models by behavior scientific approach method have provided the accident proneness concept through the LCU factors. Therefore this paper describes the analytical results of the oriental LCU model and western LCU model. Especially, the death of parents and death of close friend in Korean LCU model feel more acute stress than the western factors. In the case of Korean LCU models between the unmarried and married workers living in the middle area of Korea, death of parents, change in family member's health, change to different line of work, and change in work hours and condition are significant at the significance level of 5%. The priority of life change factors in these models is approved in the order of death of parents, death of spouse, death of close family member, and death of close friend. Finally, the result of this paper can be easily used in order to minimize the industrial accidents by the job stress with the worker and safety manager in real fields.
