The Republic of Korea developed a national project to construct a new administrative capital, Sejong city and to relocate administrative organizations of the central government for improvement of overpopulated capital, Seoul and regional balanced development. By the way, to relocate the central administrative organizations was not a sufficient condition for the sustainable development of the city. An industrial infrastructure development has been tried to attract universities, enterprises and research institutions in the region as a demand for internal growth power of the city was increased. In addtion, a basis for regional endogenous growth through projects to establish innovation system based on industry-academia cooperation was prepared as well. This paper reviews the major contents of the development plans for Tech-Valley project and looks into major introductory functions, characterization plans, strategies for fostering strategic industry, cooperation system of the inside and outside the region, and a strategy for building innovation platform. This case can be regarded as a significance of constructing technology infrastructure for the sustainable growth by preparing foundation for establishing innovation system and a cluster based on this system in the process of building and developing new city which did not have any industrial platform in the region.
According to the changing environment of modern society, a resident of the symbols reflects the growing need for housing has risen. Recently the participation of women in Korea, increased divorce rates, diversification of types of jobs, personal life, due to the typically family-oriented values is not the type of atypical forms of various types of households (a person households, newlyweds, Late Marriage Couples, single parent households, cohabiting, single core, including a disclaimer) is formed, and this trend for the social composition of the new housing environment is required. In this study, South Korea, Japan, the two countries central to the values of personal life for the area be developed by the individual but in reality did not meet the residential space in the current "environmental action research" living life based on the construction of a personal area tend to be aware of. Central values of private life, which amplified the possibility of increased prices as the difficulties in living life the most "private area" Building "area of the discrepancies" and controlled through the building of the reason for the tendency of humans in the future by identifying Oriented for the formation of residential space is to provide basic information. In addition, changes in family patterns in Japan and South Korea ahead of the current family patterns by comparing the present and future of Korea is trying to think.

This study is aimed to analyze temperature history at each section of mat foundation concrete applying double bubble sheets. The results of the study are as follows. Firstly, the results of measuring the temperature history indicate that the lowest external temperature has been recorded at -5.6℃ for the three-day measurement period. For the central section, the result indicates that the lower, center and upper part have all secured the concrete curing temperature of 18℃ or higher. This results are believed to have resulted from excellent heat insulation performance of double bubble sheets. For the edge section between the edge form and the concrete interface, the temperature has been measured, on average, approximately 12℃ lower than the central section. However, all measured sections have indicated the temperature of 5℃ or higher. Meanwhile, an analysis has been conducted through the estimation equation of compressive strength of maturity during the curing period in order to examine the possibility of early frost damage and the aspect of securing strength. It has been confirmed that the compressive strength is higher than 50°D·D, namely, 5MPa, on the 3rd day of the aging process, which allows early frost damage to be avoided.
Electric energy is indispensible of the development of the industrial and living sector. Among the energy sectors, the building area shares 20% of the produced electric power in Korea. As we plan to supply the apartment, we need to forecast the required amount of the electric energy and supply the infrastructure to apartment for the lighting, cooling. Nonetheless, it is not easy to forecast the required amount of the electric energy, considering the management aspect, building physical aspect and social-geographic aspect. In this paper, it studied the estimation model of the electric energy, reflecting the affecting variables such as total area, number of household, geography and so on. The estimation model is proposed in 3-types which explained in central heating, individual heating and district heating, and each type have two estimation model, reflecting the affecting variable and corelation between variables to eliminate the muticolinearity. The unit of electric energy consumption per area and year is similar in three heating type and the results are as follows; the central heating is $34.446kWh/yr{\cdot}m^2$, individual type is $35.756446kWh/yr{\cdot}m^2$ and district heating is $34.285446kWh/yr{\cdot}m^2$.
The main purpose of this paper is the numerical analysis of the non-linear seismic response of a RC building mock-up. The mock-up is subjected to different synthetic horizontal seismic excitations. The numerical approach is based on a 3D-model involving multilayered shell elements. These elements are composed of several single-layer membranes with various eccentricities. Bending effects are included through these eccentricities. Basic equations are first written for a single membrane element with its own eccentricity and then generalised to the multilayered shell element by superposition. The multilayered shell is considered as a classical shell element : all information about non-linear constitutive relations are investigated at the local scale of each layer, whereas balance and kinematics are checked afterwards at global scale. The non-linear dynamic response of the building is computed with Newmark algorithm. The numerical dynamic results (blind simulations) are considered in the linear and non linear cases and compared with experimental results from shaking table tests. Multilayered shell elements are found to be a promising tool for predictive computations of RC structures behaviour under 3D seismic loadings. This study was part of the CAMUS International Benchmark.
This study is to analyze the building layout of traditional government office building in Chungchong province with Chungchong-do regional maps and Eupjis(邑誌) being compiled in the late Chosun dynasty. The building layout of government office in Chungchong-do is followed in the wake of the spatial structure, Sam-Jo(三朝, three reign) and Oejeon-Naejeon(外殿-內殿), of Chosun dynasty palace. The planning principle of Sam-Jo at government office, Dongheon(東軒) territory for rule administration corresponds to Chijo(治朝) with a local governor who is the ruler, as for the Naea(內衙) territory which a family of him and he lives in, it is corresponded to Yeonjo(燕朝), and in the job space of Ajeon(衙前), it is corresponded to Oejo(外朝). As for the application of the inside and outside principle of provincial government office, Dongheon is corresponded to Oejeon and Naea to Naejeon. A compositive and an approach axis of government office in Chungchong-do is correspond with Dongheon in the center, and these axes form an central axis and an entry space of government office included Oesammun(外三門) Naesammun(內三門) Dongheon or Naea. Because an essential performance of provincial government office is provincial administration, the layout configuration of government office is a function, which is an expression of an official institution.
The aim of this study was to develop the details of cross-laminated timber (CLT) envelops for satisfying the design standard for energy saving (DSEA) and passive standard in South Korea. When the same thickness of 180 mm concrete or CLT was used and the same materials for other layers were used for the roof, wall, and interlayer floor, the required insulation thickness for the different building envelopes in central, southern, and Jeju island was evaluated. As a result, compared to the concrete envelop, about 43 mm of insulation thickness was reduced for wall and roof with the CLT envelope. When the CLT envelopes were modified to protect the CLT from moisture based on FPInnovations (2011), the insulation thickness was further reduced by 12 mm. When the modified CLT building envelops satisfied with a passive standard are used for 10-story building, the required insulation was decreased by $40.89m^3$ for a floor ($105.27m^2{\times}2.3m$ in height) compared to concrete building. As the number of floors increases, about 3.58 m3 of insulation per floor was additionally saved.
Entering in the time of high oil price, seriousness of an energy effect sector has given a huge impact and the importance of energy is growing. Especially, building energy occupying 24% of total demand of energy can be expected to reduce energy demand more than other section. To do this, the Building Energy Rating System is applied and implemented in Apartment houses on Jeju, South and Central region. This system calculates into energy saving rate, and certifies the building energy rating. This study evaluates the energy saving rate and rating and compares the difference in energy savings considering to each region and the thermal performance of the window. In result, the standard of the assessment house which is applied to the build energy rating system is demanded to distinguish the thermal performance of window according to regional variation.

We report for the first time the life history of a 'social' spider, Philoponella prominens, living in a temperate region. Philoponella prominens hibernated as immatures or subadults for 7-8 months in 1995 and 1996 from September-October to April-May in central Korea. When they emerged from their winter hibernation, a majority began their lives as commensals in the webs of other species. As the mating season approached, however, commensal spiders switched to become colonial or solitary. The mating season began in early June and lasted until early August. Newly-hatched spiderlings began to appear in the field in late June. They formed a colony by building their webs connected to the mother's by using pan of the mother's web as supporting substrates. As the season progressed, however, some of the colonial spiderlings became commensal or solitary individuals. Our field observations suggest that Philoponella prominens form colonies or commensal associations to reduce the web-building cost.
