In order to control the temperature crack of massive dam concrete, the selection of appropriate materials like binder, aggregates etc., is essential. To select the optimal mix proportion, ordinary portland cement(Type I) plus 25% of fly ash and low heat portland cement(Type IV) are used as binder, and 80mm of coarse aggregates are used to reduce the amount of binder and compare the compressive strength, hydration temperature and crack index. The results of this study are as following. 1. The strength of Type IV cement is advantageous on the long-term age. 2. According to the temperature measured on mock-up$(1.5m{\times}1.5m{\times}1.5m)$, and realized the thermal analysis, the Type IV cement carried out advantageous to control the thermal crack.
This study is to analyse possibility cementitious powder from waste concrete as row material of recycled cement. From the results, we ascertained possibility as recycled cement through XRF & XRD of cementitious powder & recycled cement. As a result of the experiment, cementitious powder from waste concrete, which appeared to recovery hydration chemically at the calcining temperature of 700, suggested highly possibility as recycled cement.
To perform high-strength of concrete, fine powers of pozzolan such as fly ash, silica fume mixed with cement. But mobility of cement and concrete decreased due to using of these powers. To control decrease of this mobility, it is required that mobility is improved by using of chemical admixture such as superplasticizer. We used admixtures -NSF, NM-2, NT-2 etc- in order to improve mobility of cement paste being substituted by 10, 20% of pozzolans respectively. It proved that optimum dosage of NSF, NT-2 was 2.0% for being substituted 10%, 3.0% for 20% so as to increase mobility of cement paste mixed paste mixed with fine powers of pozzolan at W/C=0.40.
It is well known that concrete is typical porous material. We pay attention to Hansen's idea that concrete may be expected to act as semi-permeable membrane, and report the effect of concentration of solution and temperature on water flux in forward osmosis. In order to measuring volume of water flux from distilled water to solution of sodium chloride through hardened cement paste, specially designed apparatus was constructed, and the following result were obtained: (1) hardened cement paste acts as semi-permeable membrane, consequently, water flux in forward osmosis may occur. (2) Rate of water flux is proportion to concentration of dilute solution, and this suggests hardened cement paste is agreeable to the theory of membrane. (3) Effect of temperature on water flux is agreeable to Arrehenius equation and is great.
A policy for recycling waste concrete has been extensively studied, but it is still lacking to recycle and reuse as a cementitious powder, and the property has big different depending on the aggregate rates. In this study, the amount of cement powder according to the internal properties of the aggregate were mixed. From as a result, Concrete Powder to play inside the aggregate composition of the cement composition CaO rigs that causes loss of power and strength reduction due to rising real water cement ratio will affect large.
Generally, the vegetable oil contains glycerin esther and free fatty acid. When the vegetable oil reacts with concrete, the glycerin esther from oil induces saponification by reacting with and hydrolyzing calcium hydroxide from cement hydration. As a result of this saponification, it has been reported the expansion of concrete. although the free fatty acid from vegetable oil, as an acid, can decompose the concrete by producing soluble salt from calcium hydroxide or CSH, the hydration products of cement, there was no report on the harmful oil type for concrete. therefore, in this research, the property change of cement mortar incorporating fly ash was analyzed experimentally by immerging various types of vegetable oils.
The purpose of this study is recycling of ready mixed concrete sludge as artificial aggregate by product technique of artificial aggregate in the normal temerature. For the qulity test of artificial aggregate using ready mixed concrete sludge, it is tested in the various aspect. Therefor, Quality of artificil aggregate is suitable as coarse aggregate except absoption, abrasion. For the application of aggregate in cement concrete, Coarse aggregate are replaced with artificial aggregate using ready mixed concrete sludge 100% of volume. The results of test shown that the artificial aggregate using ready mixed concrete sludge could be used replacement of coarse aggregate in cement concrete.
Objective of this study is to investigate experimentally the flexural behavior of reinforced high-strength concrete beams with Belite cement by comparing with those of normal reinforced concrete beams. The flexural tests are conducted on fourteen specimens having concrete compressive strength of 350 and 600kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The main experimental variables are compressive strength of concrete and reinforcement ratios. The load-displacement relationships, the section behavior of beam as a function of the location neutral axis, and ductility capacity are investigated. From the test results, the flexural behavior of reinforced high-strength concrete beams wite Belit cement are similar to the behavior of normal reinforced concrete beams.
In case of constructing the concrete structures under seawater environment, the concrete suffers from deterioration due to penetration of various ions such as chloride, sulfate and magnesium in seawater. Tn the present study, Immersion tests with artificial seawater were carried out to investigate the resistance to seawater attack of antiwashout underwater concrete. From the results of compressive strength, it was found that blended cement concrete due to mineral admixtures such as fly ash(FA) and ground granulated blast-furnace slag(SGC), were superior to ordinary portland cement concrete with respect to the resistance to seawater attack. Moreover, XRD analysis indicated that the formed reactants of ordinary portland cement paste by sulfate and magnesium ions led to the deterioration of concrete. As expected, however, the blended cements with FA or SGC have a good resistance to seawater attack. This paper would discuss the mechanism of seawater deterioration and benefical effects of antiwashout underwater concretes with mineral admixtures.
Recently, it has been increased to construct massive concrete structures, like under-ground structure, offshore structure etc., ie. concrete construction have become larger and higher and are demanding lower heat concrete to prevent thermal cracking. It has been progressed to replace cements with fly-ash and slag to lower heat of hydration, but it is hard to control quality of the mineral admixtures in stage of adjusting of real construction. Application of low heat portland(Belite Rich) cement for the mass concrete is the best solution to satisfied those requirements. Here are explained the basic properties of fresh concrete as well as hardened concrete of using low heat portland cement(LHPC). Also, we compare the results of adiabatic temperature rise test using LHPC and OPC.
