The extraction of third molars is a common task carried out at dental/surgery clinics. Postoperative pain is one of the two most common complications of this surgery, along with dry socket. Knowledge of the frequent risk factors of this complication is useful in determining high-risk patients, planning treatment, and preparing the patients mentally. Since the risk factors for postoperative pain have never been summarized before while the risk factors for dry socket have been highly debated, this report summarizes the literature regarding the common predictors of postextraction pain. Except for surgical difficulty and the surgeon's experience, the influences of other risk factors (age, gender and oral contraceptive use) were rather inconclusive. The case of a female gender or oral contraceptive effect might mainly be associated with estrogen levels (when it comes to dry socket), which can differ considerably from case to case. Improvement in and unification of statistical and diagnostic methods seem necessary. In addition, each risk factor was actually a combination of various independent variables, which should instead be targeted in more comprehensive studies.

Schizophrenia is a frequent psychotic disorder. Recently many studies raised biochemical theory as a cause of schizophrenia. But in this case, we used psychosocial treatment and oriental medical treatment, without antipsychotic drugs for 4 months, obtained good results. Practicing psychosocial treatment, we were able to remove anxiety and fear of the patient. In addition positive symptoms, for example auditory hallucination and delusion, were improved. Schizophrenia conforms to JEONKWANG(癲狂) in oriental medicine. We concluded this case to JEONJUNG(癲證) due to QIULDAMHWA(氣鬱痰火). So we used herbal medication and acupuncture according to oriental medical theory and these efforts helped the care of disease.

In this paper, the stress intensity factors at the crack tips in a finite plate having a straight crack with arbitrary lengths and directions are analyzed by means of Boundary Collocation Method in Cartesian coordinates under the following two cases. A) Case of only considering stress components at the boundary collocation points B) Case of considering stress resultant at the boundary, in addition to case of )A) and analyzed by means of F.E.M. To certify the Boundary Collocation Method the solutions of B.C.M. are compared with the solutions of F.E.M. demonstrates the simplicity of input data preparation and the reduction of cpu time against F.E.M.

The corporate credit rating represents an assessment of the relative level of risk associated with the timely payments required by the debt obligation. In this study, the corporate credit rating model employs artificial intelligence methods including Neural Network (NN) and Case-Based Reasoning (CBR). At first we suggest three classification models, as partitioned neural networks, all of which convert multi-group classification problems into two group classification ones: Ordinal Pairwise Partitioning (OPP) model, binary classification model and simple classification model. The experimental results show that the partitioned NN outperformed the conventional NN. In addition, we put to use CBR that is widely used recently as a problem-solving and learning tool both in academic and business areas. With an advantage of the easiness in model design compared to a NN model, the CBR model proves itself to have good classification capability through the highest hit ratio in the corporate credit rating.

This paper estimated the arrival angle and electric wave delay time using the space method law and the directions of arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm in case of signal correlation. Space method law is the method used to repress cross correlation before applying the weight value to the receiving signal. The values of the diagonal elements in the correlation matrix were averaged to replace as the diagonal elements value. In the area of wireless communication or mobile communication, there are high correlations in case of low delay time difference in multiple waves. This causes the quality of the communication to drop due to interference with the desired signal elements. This paper estimated the arrival angle and electric wave delay time using the space method law and the MUSIC algorithm. With the arrival angle algorithm, the arrival angle cannot be estimated below 5 in case of signal correlations because the angle resolution capacity decreases accordingly. The super resolution capacity was estimated to determine the arrival angle below 5 in this paper. In addition, the proposed algorithm estimated the short delay time difference to be below 20ns.

BACKGROUND. In order to restore severely attrited teeth properly, surgical intervention in the form of a crown-lengthening procedure may be required. And also, proper diagnosis and treatment sequencing is critical to obtain a successful results. Adequate diagnostic wax-up ensures good esthetics and healthy periodontal tissue. CASE DESCRIPTION. This clinical case report describes a diagnostically based protocol for restoration on mandibular anterior teeth with crown lengthening procedure and the treatment of partially edentulous mandible combined with an edentulous maxilla. In addition, the effort to prevent the combination syndrome was described. CLINICAL IMPLICATION. An interdisciplinary diagnosis and examination through visualization of the desired results ensure conservative and more predictable outcome.

고도행렬로부터 등고선을 추출하는데 있어, 가장 중요한 문제는 하나의 격자에 네개의 통과점이 발생하는 이상 상황(degenerate case)의 해결이다. 본 논문은 이상 상황 검사와 다음점 결정을 동시에 수행하는 방법을 기술한다. 이 방법은 최소 횟수 의 배열 인덱싱을 필요로 한다. 또한 통과점을 모서리점의 높이차에 따라 LOWER/ HIGHER로 표시하고, 이 정보를 이용하여 보다 적은 횟수의 배열 인덱싱을 필요로하는 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 통과점을 표시하고 이들을 추적하기에 적합한 자료구조를 구체적으로 기술한다.

P Leasing Company was a steady growing company with positive net income in most years since 1985 when it was established. However, it suddenly experienced a minus net income of 6.8 billion won in 1996. The reason of its deficit was known to be the financial distress of its two major leasing contracts. The total amount of two contracts was 58 billion won witch is about 8% of total amount of its leasing contracts. In this paper, we analyse how the disability of lease payments from the two leasing contracts influence P Leasing Company's financial stability, growth opportunity, and profitability. In addition, by performing ROI analyse, we point out the financial reasons of P Leasing Company's deficit in 1996. We hope our case analysis to help students understand the cash flow of leasing companies. The P Leasing Company case also illustrates the fact that bad leasing contracts would seriously affect the profitability of leasing companies as bad loans would seriously do the profitability of commercial banks.

This paper considers a special case of a three machine flow shop scheduling problem in which operation processing time of each job is ordered such that machine 1 has the longest processing time, whereas machine 3, the shortest processing time. The objective of the problem is the minimization of the total completion time. Although the problem is simple, its complexity is yet to be established to our best knowledge. This paper first introduces the problem and presents some optimal properties of the problem. Then, it establishes several special cases in which a polynomial-time optimal solution procedure can be found. In addition, the paper proves that the recognition version of the problem is at least binary NP-complete. The complexity of the problem has been open despite its simple structure and this paper finally establishes its complexity. Finally, a simple and intuitive heuristic is developed and the tight worst case bound on relative error of 6/5 is established.

The prediction of future demand is a vital task in managing business operations. To this end, traditional approaches often focused on statistical techniques such as exponential smoothing and moving average. The need for better accuracy has led to nonlinear techniques such as neural networks and case based reasoning. In addition, experimental design techniques such as orthogonal arrays may be used to assist in the formulation of an effective methodology. This paper investigates a multistrategy approach involving neural nets, case based reasoning, and orthogonal arrays. Neural nets and case based reasoning are employed both separately and in combination, while orthoarrays are used to determine the best architecture for each approach. The comparative evaluation is performed in the context of an application relating to the prediction of Treasury notes.
