  • In this study we carry out usability evaluation for adjustable electric beds for home care that are used the most by the elderly, and examines dissatisfaction of users. In this sense, we performed an interview with stakeholders including bed users, developers and suppliers to develop usability evaluation contents. In addition, we carried out feasibility and reliability study over evaluation form through usability assessment, and developed usability evaluation indicator.

  • Reductive acetylation of a variety of carbonyl compounds such as aldehydes, ketones and a,b-unsaturated enals/enones was carried out efficiently with pyridine zinc borohydride, (Py)Zn(BH4)2, in a mixture of THF-EtOAc at room temperature or under reflux condition. The corresponding acetates were obtained in high to excellent yields. In addition, chemoselective reductive acetylation of aldehydes over ketones was achieved perfectly with the reagent at room temperature.

  • The purposes of this article were to examine teacher's guidance over video utility and to investigate problems for video use in the classroom. Two-hundred-ninety-four teachers in half-day and all-day early childhood programs participated in this study. Descriptive analysis and chi-square tests were used. Results resealed that teacher's guidance before, during, and after video viewing was not carried out enough for the effectiveness of video teaming. The major problem for using a video in early childhood programs was insufficient video materials. These data were interpreted with respect to teachers'training practices and government policy.

  • Using the idea of generalized intuitionistic fuzzy set, we study the notion of generalized intuitionistic fuzzy matrices as a generalization of fuzzy matrices, We show that some properties of a square generalized intuitionistic fuzzy matrix such as reflexivity, transitivity and circularity are carried over to the adjoint generalized intuitionistic fuzzy matrix.

  • This paper presents a denoising algorithm that can suppress additive noise components while preserving signal components in the wavelet domain. The algorithm uses the local statistics of wavelet coefficients to attenuate noise components adaptively. Then threshohding operation is followed to reject the residuary noise components in the wavelet coefficients. Simulations are carried out over 1-D signals corrupted by Gaussian noise and the experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • coefficient precisely, experiments were carried out in three categories which contain the regime of (1) constant wire temperature (2) constant fluid temperature (3) constant temperature difference between wire and fluid. Measurements were made with electrically heated circular tungsten wire placed normal to air stream at the exit of jet. Heat transfer coefficient was increased with wire temperature increasing and decreased by fluid temperaure increasing and was not changed with varying both temperature if their difference were kept constant.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the acute toxicity of G. bimaculatus in Sprague-Dawley rats. G. bimaculatus was administered orally at doses of 8, 40, 200, 1000 and 5000 mg/kg. in this study, number of deaths, clinical sign, body weights, and pathological examination were investigated for 14 days after administration of G. bimaculatus. The results indicate that G. bimaculatus did not show any toxic effect in rats and oral $LD_{50}$ value was over 5000 mg/kg in Sprague-Dawley rats.

  • Thermal simulation of typical stack-type and newly proposed planar-type micro-gas sensors were studied by FEM method. The thermal analyses for the proposed planar structure including temperatur distribution over the sensing layer and power consumption of the heater were carried using finite element method by computer simulation and well compared with those of typical stack-type micro-gas sensor. The thermal properties of the microsensor from thermal simulation were compared with those of a actual device to investigate the acceptability of the computer simulation.

  • This study presents the slope stability analysis results for the model slope test. The model slope was made of the soil reinforced by FPF(Fibrillated Polyprophylene Fiber). The shear strength properties of the soil reinforced by FPF fibers were evaluated through the direct shear tests. The model slope 1:1 and 1:1.5 were made and the load tests were performed. Back analysis using limit equilibrium method was carried out to evaluate the shear strength increase on the FPF reinforced slope. The factor of safety of the FPF reinforce slope increased about 23% over unreinforced slope.

  • Numerical analysis of turbulent flow in three-dimensional channel with V-shaped ribs extruded on both walls has been carried out. Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes are calculated for analysis of fluid flow and heat transfer. Shear stress transport (SST) turbulence model is used as a turbulence closure. Computational results for heat transfer rate show good agreements with experimental data.
