여대생의 외모관리행동이 진로결정수준에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Appearance Management Behaviors on Career Decision Level in Female College Students)

  • The objective of this study was to examine the effects of appearance management behaviors on career decision level among female college students. Based on previous studies on appearance management behaviors and career decision level, the items for a questionnaire were developed. For the study, we conducted a questionnaire survey among 292 students from women's university in Seoul. Factor analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS statistics 23. Results of this study are as follows. First, the factor structure of appearance management behavior had three factors: 'fashion & hair,' 'skin & plastic surgery,' and 'body shape.' The reliability and validity of the factor structure were proved. Second, a significant correlation was found between sub-factors in appearance management behaviors. Career decision level showed a significant correlation only with body management factor. Third, the appearance management behavior of female college students was found to have a partially significant effect on career decision level. For higher grade students, fashion & hair factor and body shape factor had positive effects on career decision level. For lower grade students, body shape factor had a positive effect on career decision level while skin & plastic surgery factor had a negative effect on career decision level. Therefore, to increase career decision level, managing appearance through keeping fit body shape is crucial. This study also suggests that as one elevates to a higher grade, the importance of management and keeping interest toward fashion is important.

초등학교 언어창작영재의 적성과 진로성향 및 진로성숙도 연구 (The Study on the Multiple Intelligence Aptitude, Career Tendency & Career Maturity of Verbal Writing Gifted Student)

  • 본 연구는 교육청 글쓰기 대회에서 수상하여 언어영재캠프에 참여한 초등학교 4, 5학년 학생들(60명)을 대상으로 언어창작영재들의 적성과 진로성향 및 진로성숙도를 알아보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 다중지능 프로파일은 언어적성, 음악적성이 강점지능으로, 논리 수학적성이 약점지능으로 나타났다. 둘째, 우수적성은 음악적성과 언어적성으로 나타난 학생의 수가 많았고, 논리 수학적성이 가장 적었다. 논리 수학흥미와 논리 수학성취가 유의수준 p<.01.에서 상관이 있었다. 셋째, 진로성향은 언어성향과 인간친화성향의 학생이 가장 많았고, 음악적성, 자연친화적성, 인간친화적성은 우수적성과 진로성향에 있어 큰 차이를 보였다. 넷째, 과반수 이상(41명, 68%)의 학생이 조기 진로성숙의 특성을 보였다. 언어창작영재들의 성공적인 진로선택을 위해 우수적성에 어울리는 직업의 안내와 진로성향에 맞는 적성을 강화시키는 교육을 제공해야 할 것이다.

고등학생들을 위한 이공계 진로동기 검사도구 개발 및 타당화 (The Development and Validation of Instrument for Measuring High School Students' STEM Career Motivation)

  • 이공계 진로동기는 지속가능한 과학기술 인력의 양성에 있어 핵심적 역할을 하며, 과학학습동기에도 큰 영향을 미친다고 알려져 왔다. 이 연구의 목적은 학생들의 이공계 진로동기를 측정할 수 있는 검사 도구를 개발 및 타당화하는데 있다. 검사도구 개발의 첫 번째 절차로 사회인지진로이론(SCCT)에 기초하여 고등학생들의 이공계 진로동기의 7개의 구인인 교육, 직업가치, 이공계 교과 자아효능감, 이공계진로 자아효능감, 이공계 진로에 대한 흥미, 부모의지지, 이공계 진로 동기로 설정하였다. 각 구인들을 측정할 수 있는 예비문항의 개발 후 고등학교 1학년 학생 767명에게 투입하였다. 학생들의 응답 자료를 바탕으로 라쉬모델 분석, 탐색적 요인분석과 구조방정식 분석을 바탕으로 한 확인적 요인분석과 다중집단 요인분석을 수행하였다. 결과적으로 Messick(1995)이 제안한 6가지 측면의 타당도 중 내용 타당도, 실제적 타당도, 구조적 타당도, 일반화 타당도가 검증되었다. 또한 구조방정식 분석을 통해 이공계 진로동기의 구인간의 연결 구조를 확인하였다. 개발된 이공계 진로동기 검사도구는 고등학교 1학년 직업진로지도에 유용한 도구로 사용될 것으로 전망된다.

비주얼 씽킹과 SNS를 활용한 진로교육에 관한 연구 (A Study on Career Education through Visual Thinking and Social Network Service)

  • 본 연구는 비주얼 씽킹과 SNS를 활용한 진로교육을 실시하여 학생들의 진로 인식을 제고하고자 하였다. 또한 학부모들의 자녀의 진로에 대한 관심을 증대시키며, 초등학교 진로교육의 목표인 학생의 발달 단계에 맞는 진로교육을 통해 자신의 적성과 능력에 알맞은 진로를 탐색하도록 하였다. 비교 연구 결과 실험반이 '진로에 대한 의견 및 태도', '정보탐색 및 합리적인 의사결정', '직업에 대한 지식' 전 영역에서 비교반에 비해 유의미한 결과를 가져왔다. 연구 결과 비주얼 씽킹과 SNS를 활용한 진로교육이 학생들의 진로 인식을 고취하고 진로 탐색에 적극적인 태도를 가져오는 긍정적인 효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.

NCS 정보능력이 대학생들의 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향 (Investigating the Effect of NCS Information Capability on College Students' Career Readiness Behavior)

  • Purpose As job market squeezes and more institutions have been requiring NCS(National Competency Standards) based recruitments, the importance of NCS has been growing. Among the 10 domains of NCS, the most relevant one with MIS(Management Information Systems) field is 'information ability', which is becoming more important with the advent of the fourth industrial revolution era. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of college students' information ability on their career preparation behavior. Design/methodology/approach In this study, we set up a process model to comprehend the effect of college students' information ability on career preparation behavior based on social cognitive career theory. For research model testing, 561 questionnaires were used for empirical analysis through structural equations modeling. Findings Empirical analysis showed that information ability positively influenced college students' career preparation behaviors for employment. In addition, this study presented a process model explaining the effect of information capability on career preparation behavior. In order to strengthen the information ability of college students, not only university-level efforts, but also MIS discipline efforts should be accompanied. Other academic and practical implications are discussed.

전남대학교 의과대학 졸업 후 진로지도 프로그램 설계와 운영 (Design and Implementation of a Career Planning Program at Chonnam National University Medical School)

  • Chonnam National University Medical School has designed and implemented two career planning programs: a three-phase curriculum-based program and a longitudinal non-curricular program over the course of 6 academic years. The three phases of the curriculum-based career planning program are self-assessment, career exploration, and field experience. The non-curricular career counseling program operates through a faculty advisor system, with each faculty member guiding a group of students from each academic year, and students in each year forming a mentor-mentee relationship. The non-curricular career exploration program consists of a student research support program, an international practice program in basic and clinical medicine, and a specialty exploration fair. A survey conducted among 38 graduates (54.3%) working as interns at Chonnam National University Hospital revealed that graduates preferred autonomous elective subjects within the curriculum-based program. They also responded positively to the faculty advisor system, through which they maintained close relationships. A focus group interview with three interns indicated that subjects providing direct experience in fields of interest and courses that students could choose freely were helpful in career decisions. Through follow-up research, it is necessary to design and operate a systematic career planning program based on an analysis of the needs of graduates taking part in a residency training program after selecting a medical specialty.

What Determines Interest in Becoming a Student of Professional Accounting?

  • This study aims to identify the determinants of student interest in pursuing Accounting Professional Education (Indonesia: PPAk) in Province of Bali. The determinants which the author has used are: independent variables are social motivation, career motivation, quality motivation, and duration of education. The sample in this study comprises of 75 respondents who are students of Accounting discipline at the Faculty of Economics and Business at universities in the Province of Bali. Data was collected using a questionnaire and have been processed using multiple regression analysis. The results show that social motivation, career motivation, and quality motivation have a positive effect on students' interest in studying Accounting Professional Education. On the other hand, the duration of the accounting course has a negative effect on students' interest in studying this program. The importance of role of a professional accountant in realizing transparency in public life, and an economy that is free from financial deceit and fraud makes the role of professional accounting institutions very important. However, graduates' who desire to continue their studies in the PPAk program tends to be low. The findings of this research are expected to become the basis for policy makers in formulating rules related to the development of the accounting profession in the society, especially in Indonesia.

치기공과 학생의 진로장벽과 구직효능감 관계에서 직업기초능력의 매개효과 (Mediating Effect of the Basic Occupational Ability in the Relationship between Career Barriers and the Job-seeking Efficacy of a Dental Technology Student)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to clarify the mediating effect of the basic occupational ability in relation to the career barrier and job-seeking efficacy of dental technology students. It aims to provide the basic data for NCS-based education and career guidance. Methods: The subject of the questionnaire survey was dental technology students. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 program. For reliable verification, a significance level of ${\alpha}=.05$ was used and reliability analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were performed. Results: The results of the analysis showed that the basic occupational ability had a mediating effect in relation to career barriers and job-seeking efficacy. It was found that the basic occupational ability had a mediating effect in the relationship between job-seeking efficiently and other variables such as difficulty in an interpersonal relationship, lack of self-clarification, conflict with others in important positions, lack of job information, and lack of interest. Conclusion : The results of this study confirmed the importance of the basic occupational ability in improving job-seeking goals, job motivation, job search strength, job skills, and other related areas. If it appears difficult to overcome career barriers such as interpersonal difficulty, lack of self-clarification, conflict with other important people, lack of job information, and lack of interest, then the improvement of the basic occupational ability can be expected to enhance the job-seeking efficiency.

특급호텔 조리사 직업선택동기에 따른 직무만족에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Job Satisfaction of the Five-star Hotel Chef Career Choice Motives)

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the motivation of career choice for chefs in luxury hotels through IPA analysis based on the differences between importance and satisfaction, and to investigate the impact of motivations of career choice on job satisfaction. The results are as follows. First, "matched aptitude" and "interest in cook" were found as factors of importance and satisfaction. Second, sufficient reward should be provided through incentive, increasing salary, and promotion. Third, the system of internship and temporary employee should be revised, and the motivation should be provided through performance-based reward and incentive system. Fourth, fair personal evaluation, transparent promotion system, fair reward system should be required to increase job satisfaction. Fifth, internal environment is important rather than social reputation or popularity for those who consider chefs as future career.

  • While the number of women labor force in Malaysia is increasing, only a few of them make it to the top. For many reasons, some women turn down top position offer and some of them refuse to stay working. Commitment to the family, work-life conflict and lack of support from the family and the colleagues are among issues that caused women to have less interest to pursue career advancement. This article examines the role of work-life balance and its relationship to women career advancement, and why both are important in Malaysia. The arguments are arranged based on a review of the previous literature to conceptualize the relationship between work-life balance and career advancement. It is found that both work-life balance and women career advancement are important to retain women in the working world as well as to motivate them to pursue promotion to a higher position. Even though some researchers agreed that the relationship between work-life balance and career advancement is mostly negative, others found positive relationship between both constructs. At the end of the paper, some suggestions on how to improve work-life balance and career advancement are presented as well as suggestion for future research.
