The Underwater Noise of Fishing Gears in Operation (망어구의 수중소음에 관한 연구)

  • An underwater recording system was designed to measure the sound spectra of the underwater noises produced by fishing gears in operation. Recorded were noi~es from three types of fishing gears: an anchovy set net, three anchovy boat seine net and a stern trawlnet. Acoustic analysis were made using a heterodyne analyzer, a digital frequency analyzer and a level recorder. The no;'e produced by the anchovy set net was found in the high frequency region of the onset of ambient noise spectrum with a slope of - 6 dB/octave. Here the ambient noise spectrum is higher, though similar in shape, than Knudsen spectrum, and is attributed to the breaking action of the coastal wave. Measured noise spectra during the fishing operations of the anchovy boat seine nets are attributed to the background noise of the sea in the presence of the fishing vessels. The frequency distribution of the noise was 20~5, 000 Hz in the case of two steel anchovy boat seiners, and 20-3,000 Hz in the case of the wooden anchovy boat seiner. The predominant frequency range was 250~350 Hz and maximum sound pressure level was 122 dB (re $1\muPa$) in the case of the steel boat and ] 17 dB in the case of the wooden boat. The noises produced by the trawl fishing gears are remarkably higher than the background noi~e in the presence of the fishing vessel. The frequency distribution of the noi~e was 20-6,300 Hz. The predominant frequency range was 100~200 Hz and maximum sound pressure level was 137 dB ( re $1\muPa$) . The noise spectra were not so much different from that caused by vibrations of the towing cable and the structure of the ground rope of the trawl net towed in an experimental tank.

  • The emergence of cable TV, satellite broadcasting and IPTV provides viewers with a variety of TV programs. However, viewers' desire for watching their favorite TV program at convenient time has increased because of insufficient spare time. As an increase in smart phone market has accelerated an entry into "the age of smart network media" since 2009, mobile media suggests services connected to other digital devices. Recently, there has been growing interest in TV controling system of smart phone. Therefore, the present study aims to provide an concept of the smart phone application which recommends contents of TV program by analyzing personal watching pattern. To suggest detailed direction of the interaction and UI design, we analyzed previous research and examples of TV controlling applications and products. In addition, public opinion survey was carried out to rationalize this study and suggest suitable UI structure.

  • This paper presents the InGaP/GaAs HBT differential LC VCO with low phase noise performance for adaptive feedback interference cancellation system(AF-lCS). The VCO is verified with enhanced tank structure including filtering technique. The output tuning range for proposed VCO using asymmetric inductor and symmetric capacitors withlow pass filtering technique is 207 MHz. The output powers are -6.68 including balun and cable loss. The phase noise of this VCO at 10 kHz, 100 kHz and 1 MHz are -102.02 dBc/Hz, -112.04 dBc/Hz and -130.40 dBc/Hz. The VCO is designed within total size of $0.9{\times}0.9mm^2$.

  • 최근 재료 및 시공 기술의 지속적 발전으로 인하여, 사장교, 현수교 등 장대교량의 건설이 증가하고 있다. 이러한 장대교량들은 사회적 및 경제적인 중요성이 매우 크므로 교량 완공 후 유지관리 및 구조적 건전성을 모니터링하기 위하여 교량 각 주요 구조부재에 다양한 센서를 설치함으로써 교량모니터링시스템을 구축하여 외부하중에 의한 교량구조물의 거동을 감지, 수집, 분석하여 교량의 건전성을 파악하기 위하여 장대교량의 공용성과 안전성 확보에 많은 연구가 진행 되고 있으며 현재 국내외 다수의 장대교량들에는 다양한 센서로 이루어진 구조 건전성 모니터링 시스템이 설치, 운용되고 있다. 실제로 서해대교, 광안대교, 홍콩 TsingMa Bridge, 미국 Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge와 같은 실제 교량에도 적용된 바 있다. 하지만, 이상의 구조 건전성 모니터링 시스템 기술이 널리 활용되는 데는 여러 가지 장애물이 있는데, 그 중에서 가장 큰 것이 시스템을 구축하는 데 과다한 비용이 소요된다는 점이다. 예로 홍콩의 Tsing Ma 대교의 경우 350개의 센서를 설치하는데 약 8백만불이 넘는 금액이 들었으며(Farrar 등, 2004), Celeby(2002)의 보고에 의하면 각 센서의 채널 당 케이블의 설치 비용으로 약 5000불의 비용이 소모되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 불편함을 극복하기 위하여 무선 센서를 개발하고, 이를 한강 상 교량 중 올림픽대교에 적용, 사장교의 구조 건전성을 저비용 및 높은 편의성으로 모니터링 하기 위한 테스트베드를 구축하여 무선 계측 시스템의 정확성 및 적용성을 확인하였다.

Some Problems and Their Solutions of Maximum Requirements of Animation Broadcasting (애니메이션 총량제의 문제점 및 개선방안)

  • This study is to suggest the solutions about the problems of maximum requirements of animation broadcasting. About 10 experts of broadcasting, animation production, animation related professor and researcher and government take part in this study and discuss problems and their solutions of maximum requirements of animation broadcasting from January to march in 2009. This policy introduced 4 years ago had the positive effects such as the increase of animation production and the number of animation production company, but also the negative effects such as continuous decrease of rating in terrestrial broadcasting and transferring to low rating time slot of animation, downward equalization of animation and changing to minimum securement method. This study suggested the solutions as follows; first the enlargement of this policy to cable and satellite broadcasting, second introducing incentive policy in prime time, third the subsidy of media oriented investment. Finally this study stressed that this solutions should not be compulsory order but voluntary system.

  • 초전도 케이블은 저손실 대용량 전력수송이 가능한 전력케이블로서 대도시의 전력 공급문제를 해결할 수 있는 환경 친화적 신개념의 전력케이블이다. 한전 전력연구원 고창전력시험센터에서는 2006년에 22.9 kV, 100 m, 50 MVA급 초전도케이블 시스템을 설치하여 초전도케이블 실용화를 위한 신뢰성 시험을 실시하고 있다. 전력케이블의 주요한 신뢰성 요인 중의 하나가 절연특성이며 초전도케이블의 절연특성은 운전온도가 액체질소 온도이므로 절연지에 수분이 고화하여 일반적인 전력케이블보다 좋은 절연특성을 보이는 것으로 알려져 있다. 초전도 케이블은 절연지와 액체질소에 의해 절연이 이루어지며 열적, 기계적, 전기적, 환경적 스트레스에 의해 열화가 발생할 수 있다. 절연층에 이러한 스트레스가 누적되면서 void가 발생하게 되고 전계집중 현상에 의해 절연성능이 저하되며 과다한 열화의 발생시 절연파괴가 일어나게 된다. 온 발표에서는 운전온도 66.4 K에서 1.5 $U_0$ (20 kV) 전압의 30일간 연속 인가 시험과 초전도 케이블의 절연열화 가속시험을 통하여 얻은 부분방전 및 정전용량의 변화 등의 절연특성 평가 결과에 대해 논의한다.

  • Electronic control units for propulsion systems are devices which compute control algorithm by processing the systems' internal sensor signals. Due to the effect of transmission between sensors and a control unit, previous analog systems have drawbacks of signal attenuation and susceptibility to noises. However, a digital sensor can be less influenced by the electrical cable line as it includes sensor, AMP, and AD converter in one module. In addition, it can reduce the process time for control algorithm because extra S/W filtering process is not needed. The current study shows how to process signals for an electronic control unit using digital sensors.

Structural identification of Humber Bridge for performance prognosis

  • Structural identification or St-Id is 'the parametric correlation of structural response characteristics predicted by a mathematical model with analogous characteristics derived from experimental measurements'. This paper describes a St-Id exercise on Humber Bridge that adopted a novel two-stage approach to first calibrate and then validate a mathematical model. This model was then used to predict effects of wind and temperature loads on global static deformation that would be practically impossible to observe. The first stage of the process was an ambient vibration survey in 2008 that used operational modal analysis to estimate a set of modes classified as vertical, torsional or lateral. In the more recent second stage a finite element model (FEM) was developed with an appropriate level of refinement to provide a corresponding set of modal properties. A series of manual adjustments to modal parameters such as cable tension and bearing stiffness resulted in a FEM that produced excellent correspondence for vertical and torsional modes, along with correspondence for the lower frequency lateral modes. In the third stage traffic, wind and temperature data along with deformation measurements from a sparse structural health monitoring system installed in 2011 were compared with equivalent predictions from the partially validated FEM. The match of static response between FEM and SHM data proved good enough for the FEM to be used to predict the un-measurable global deformed shape of the bridge due to vehicle and temperature effects but the FEM had limited capability to reproduce static effects of wind. In addition the FEM was used to show internal forces due to a heavy vehicle to to estimate the worst-case bearing movements under extreme combinations of wind, traffic and temperature loads. The paper shows that in this case, but with limitations, such a two-stage FEM calibration/validation process can be an effective tool for performance prognosis.

A Study on Estimating the Number of Users in e-Commerce Systems (전자상거래 시스템의 사용자 수 예측에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a methodology to estimate the number of users in e-Commerce systems. There have been a lot of previous work under the closed-LAN system environment. But the study on the number of acceptable users in real network environment is hard to find in the literature. Our research applies a Hybrid Simulation by using QoS results for end-to-end high-speed Internet service, and experiments are performed with regard to LAN and WAN, network equipments, and various network bandwidth. As result of the experiments we observed that the response time of high-speed Internet service media(Wireless LAN, ADSL, Cable, VDSL) depends heavily on the sequence and depth of transactions and on the ratio of transactional and non-transactional interactions. That is, as the network and application get more loads, the number of acceptable users decreases. By adding a cache server and an L4 switch to the simulation model, we analysed the changes in the number of users and client response time.
