Linear Drive Systems using Roller Gear Mechanism (롤러 기어 메커니즘을 이용한 직선이송시스템)

  • This paper considers two linear drive systems using roller gear mechanism(RGM), one is the RRP(roller rack pinion) system that consists of a roller rack and a cam pinion, the other is the CRP(cam rack pinion) system that consists of a cam rack and a roller pinion. Through the comparison of contact forces and load-stress factors between two linear drive systems, it reveals that the RRP system is superior to the CRP system in the aspect of the bending strength, while the CRP system has higher contact fatigue resistance than that of the RRP system.

Evaluation of Intralimb Coordination in Transfemoral Amputee during Level Walking (대퇴절단인의 보행 시 하지 내 협응성 평가)

  • The aims of this study were to evaluate the joint coordination between hip and knee joints in the transfemoral amputees, and its symmetry between sound and prosthetic limbs. Seven transfemoral amputees ($46.4{\pm}10.7-year-old$, $174.8{\pm}3.5cm$, $78.3{\pm}9.7kg$) and 7 able bodies ($24.0{\pm}4.5-year-old$, $174.5{\pm}5.9cm$, $66.9{\pm}9.4Kg$) participated in this study. They walked at a self-selected walking speed across a 10m level ground. Simultaneously angle and angular velocity in the hip and knee joint were measured by motion analysis system. Then continuos relative phase(CRP), standard deviations of CRP (CRP_SD) and symmetry index(SI) were calculated. In able bodies, there were no differences of the parameters between left and right limb(all p>0.05). However, significant differences between sound and prosthetic limb in most of the parameters, except for CRP for stance phase were shown (all p<0.05). There were differences in all SI between transfemoral amputees and able bodies (p<0.05). In conclusion, joint coordination was altered in transfemoral amputee during level walking and shown in interlimb asymmetry.

Identifying Hotspots on Freeways Using the Continuous Risk Profile With Hierarchical Clustering Analysis (계층적 군집분석 기반의 Continuous Risk Profile을 이용한 고속도로 사고취약구간 선정)

  • The Continuous Risk Profile (CRP) has been well known to be the most accurate and efficient among existing network screening methods. However, the classical CRP uses safety performance functions (SPFs) which require a huge investment to construct a database system. This study aims to suggest a new CRP method using average crash frequencies of homogeneous groups, instead of SPFs, as rescaling factors. Hierarchical clustering analysis is performed to classify freeway segments into homogeneous groups based on the data of AADT and number of lanes. Using the data from I-880 in California, the proposed method is compared to other several network screening methods. The results show that the proposed method decrease false positive rates while it does not produce any false negatives. The method developed in this study can be easily applied to screen freeway networks without any additional complex database systems, and contribute to the improvement of freeway safety management systems.

Pitting Life of CRP System (CRP 시스템의 피팅수명)

  • Cam rack pinion (CRP) system which consists of cam rack and roller pinion transforms the rotation motion into linear one. The roller pinion has the plurality of rollers and meshes with its conjugated cam rack. The exact tooth profile of the cam rack and the non-undercut condition to satisfy the required performance have been proposed by introducing the profile shift coefficient. The load stress factors are investigated by varying the shape design parameters to predict the gear surface fatigue limit which is strongly related to the gear noise and vibration at the contact patch. The results show that the pitting life can be extended significantly by increasing the profile shift coefficient.

  • 급성 심근경색 진단용 DNA 컴퓨팅 시스템 모듈로서, 트로포닌 I (troponin I, Tnl). 트로포닌 T (troponin T, TnT). 미오글로빈 (myoglobin), C-반응 단백질 (C-reactive protein, CRP) 과 각각 결합할 수 있는 네 가지 종류의 앱타머틀 선정하고, 이의 개발을 시도하여, 그 중 첫 번째로 C-반응 단백질-결합 앱타머를 SELEX 기법을 이용하여 선별해내었다. 또한, 선별된 앱타머 염기서열에 기초하여 각각 10-mer 길이의 FDNA 와 QDNA 를 제작하고, 표적 단백질 (CRP) 과 혼합시켜 형광발현 변화의 추이를 살펴보았다. 앱타머 및 FDNA. QDNA 가 결합할 경우에는 형광감쇄효과가 발생하므로, 형광감쇄효과가 일어나지 않은 경우에 비하여 현저하게 형광측정값이 저조하게 나타나는 현상을 확인할 수 있었다. 향후 연구로, 나머지 세 가지 종류의 앱타머를 SELEX기법을 이용하여 선별해내고. 기확보된 C-반응 단백질-결합 앱타머 모듈과 함께 논리회로를 구성하는 DNA 컴퓨팅 칩을 제작할 예정이다.

Detection of C-Reactive Protein Using Direct-binding Quartz Crystal Microbalance Immunosensor (직접결합방식 수정진동자 면역센서에 의한 C-Reactive Protein 검출)

  • A prognostic indicator of coronary heart disease, C-reactive protein, was tried to be determined by a batch-type quartz crystal microbalance immunosensor. The sensor was operated by direct-binding mode and the optimum concentration for the corresponding antibody for immobilization was $50{\mu}g/ml$. The reaction buffer for the system was 0.1 M sodium phosphate (pH 7.0) and system operation was performed in the order of baseline stabilization, analyte addition and measurement, and regeneration of the sensor chip with 10 mM NaOH. When plotted in double-logarithmic scale, the sensor showed a linear detection range of 0.27-106.00 nM for rat C-reactive protein with the limit of detection of 0.53 nM. It also showed a good reusability.

Roller Track Gear System Design based on Roller Gear Mechanism (RGM 기반 롤러 트랙 기어 시스템 설계)

  • In recent years, RGM(roller gear mechanism) systems, wherein one of the gears of a meshing gear pair is replaced with pins or rollers, have been reintroduced, which is a consequence of, and therefore a reflection of, the rapid advances made in manufacturing technology. Three RTG(roller track gear) systems for arbitrary path transportation (e.g., L-, O-, U-, and S-shaped tracks) were constructed using two out of three RGM systems, namely, the CRP(cam rack pinion), CRG(cam ring gear), and RPG(roller pinion gear) systems, and are introduced in this paper. We also present three ways to prevent the intersection and non-contact phenomena at the teeth in the vicinity of the conversion point between two joined RGM systems.

  • According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2020 Regulation, ships operating outside designated emission control areas (ECA) have to use low-sulfur oil with a sulfur content of 0.5% or less by January 2020. To minimize the consumption of high-priced low-sulfur oil, it is urgent to introduce efficient energy-saving devices (ESD), and contra-rotating propeller (CRP) systems are well known to be the most effective one. The shafting system that drives a CRP is composed of an inner shaft and an outer one and has a mutually influential system that is much more complex and heavier than a general shafting system. An initial design was carried out to install a CRP system for the first time in Korea. The purpose of this study is to verify whether the journal bearing meets the classification's design criteria through a bearing reaction force analysis for the classification's approval of the initial design. It is ideal for the thrust of the propeller to act on the center of the shaft, but thrust eccentricity occurs due to the uneven wake caused by the stern shape. Load conditions were applied while considering thrust eccentricity to perform the shaft analysis, and the results were compared with the classification's criteria.

  • This study is the 3-D precision deformation measurement of a bridge, obtain results of precision control points by GPS and 3-D measurement system and develope efficientlty technices which can solve precision 3-D analysis by CRP In the result, we could overcome the problems of former control point measurement in the way of the combination system of GPS and 3-D measurement system to positioning decision of reference points and control points. Then we could symplify old measurement process on the 3-D deformation analysis of a linear structure and complement parted analysis fault of measurement instrument.

A Study of Dynamic Characteristics in the Process of Community Building Projects in Korea (주민주도적 마을만들기의 동태적 측면에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, Community Rebuilding Projects (hereinafter CRPs) in Korea have been driven and motivated by community inhabitants by themselves, and highlighted as an alternative approach to overcome the limitation revealed normally in top-down projects of community vitalization by the Government. The CRPs encourage community-lead development because it happens to integrate multiple stakeholders and to help inhabitants to participate in the process of the CRPs by accumulating and enlarging social capital and network among inhabitants, and the social gain consequently raises the efficiency of public investment in revitalizing communities. In this study, the series of Causal Loop Diagrams (CLDs) is to be elaborated and the System-Thinking (ST) approach is to be presented to understand the dynamic characteristics residing in the above development process of rebuilding communities. The ST approach refers to the CLDs analyzing 19 remarkable Korean CRP cases, and leads to a conclusion including some of policy instruments to support the bottom-up CRPs in Korea. This study contributes a theoretical framework to understand the dynamic relation between social capital and community revitalization as well as empirical suggestions to respond to the issues of the CRPs in Korean local governments.
