Since most of the first witnesses of cardiac arrest in clinical settings are nurses, the ability to perform CPR is important. The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for developing education that strengthens CPR performance in the future by examining inactive nurses' CPR knowledge, attitude, performance confidence, device discomfort, continued use intention, and educational achievement. The final subjects of this study were 88 inactive nurses residing in B city. The study period was from June 23, 2020 to December 24, 2020. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation using SPSS WIN 24.0 program. After obtaining the subject's consent for the study, an inactive nurse who understood the purpose of the study and voluntarily consented to the study participated. To investigate the perception of experience, the subjects watched 360-degree virtual reality contents about CPR in the hospital using HMD. The data of this study were analyzed using SPSS WIN 22.0.program. As a result of this 360-degree study on CPR in the hospital, the average score for the inactive nurses on CPR knowledge was 12.70±3.43, the average score for performance confidence was 6.04±2.45, and the average score for attitude was 4.63±0.80. As a result of experience recognition of 360-degree virtual reality contents for CPR in hospitals, the average score for device discomfort was 4.01±0.94, the average score for continued use intention was 2.07±0.85, and the average score for educational achievement was 2.11±0.79. As a result of correlation analysis, educational achievement and continued use intention were significantly positively correlated (r=.77, p<.001). Based on the results of this study, in order to strengthen the CPR performance capability of inactive nurses in emergency situations, it is necessary to increase CPR knowledge and confidence in performing CPR, and to cultivate a positive attitude toward performing CPR. In addition, it is necessary to implement CPR simulation education based on patient cases by applying content that considers educational achievement and continuous use intention.
Purpose: The object of this study was to compare the educational effect about self-efficacy and the quality of chest compressions of Hands-only CPR and Basic CPR. Methods: It's a nonequivalent control group pre-post repeated quasi-experiment study conducted with entire fifth grade students belong to one school in H city. The study participants are 68 persons, and data were collected from December 2, 2013 to February 7, 2014. Self-efficacy was measured by 10 items, and the quality of chest compressions was measured by 5 variables which are average compression depth(mm), average rate (n/min), average count per minutes (n), abnormal placement (n), compression accuracy (%). Results: Self-efficacy of the experimental group and control group showed no significant difference but showed significant difference over time and was the highest at posttest 1 (immediately after education), the lowest at pretest (before education), middle at posttest 2 (8weeks after education) (p<.001). Experimental group was significantly higher than control group in average rate per minute. At posttest 1, experimental group was $130.0{\pm}9.38$ times, control group was $95.1{\pm}11.82$ times. At posttest2, experimental group was $124.0{\pm}14.89$ times, control group was $90.8{\pm}14.89$ times.(p<.001). Average rate (n/min) was significantly declined at control group in the quality of chest compressions over time (t=-2.400, p=.022). Average count per minute and compression accuracy were declined significantly so it were not maintained to posttest2. Conclusion: We need continuous CPR education because self-efficacy of CPR getting lower significantly over time. Hands-only CPR can't be seen as a way to increase the CPR ability of elementary school students having difficulty to perform artificial breathing. And, because the effect of education is not maintained 8wks after training, the technique centered repeated training is needed and a method which can increase compression accuracy is also needed.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to provide an appropriated direction for cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) education by analyzing the attitude, knowledge and self efficacy of CPR for Chinese students in Korea. Methods : The questionaries were obtained from 179 Chinese students who studied in K university at G city from Sep 24, 2012 to Oct 4, 2012. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 19.0 program. Results : About 40% of the subjects had experienced CPR training. In cardiac arrest situation, 82.6% of the respondents were willing to CPR on family members and 58.1% of the respondents were willing to CPR on strangers. They had a very low CPR knowledge level (mean 34.4 out of 100) and self efficacy (4.6 out of 10). The self-efficacy was related to CPR willingness but not to CPR knowledge. Conclusion : It is important to enhance CPR performance for layperson education in Chinese students.
Purpose: This study was focused on the training effects of the cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) which is based on the AHA guideline 2010 for lay person. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of the CPR training for civilian by checking the performance ability of the subjects before and after the CPR education. Method: This study was a single primary experimental study designed with pre and post test. Study subjects were 55 apartment managers who participated in all test on December 5 and December 11, 2011. The tools of this study were CPR performing evaluation sheet and CPR teaching program(AHA). Data were analysed by descriptive statistics, t-test, repeated ANOVA and Bonferroni with SPSS 18.0 program. Result: The CPR practice performing ability was significantly increased by test. The CPR practice performing ability of the learning experience group had significantly higher score than that of non-experience group. The self-confidence on CPR practice when faced emergency situation was highly increased after practice training. Conclusion: Practical performance evaluation score has improved step by step. The primary and secondary practical evaluation showed a significant difference in all items and practice-oriented education was found to be effective in CPR training.
Purpose. The study was basic materials are provided to identify differences in the knowledge, attitude and performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR) depending on the characteristics of child care teachers, and to develop an education program that will enable you to improve your future CPR performance. Methods. This study was conducted on 147 child care teachers. The questionnaire of the previous study was corrected and 48 total questions were used. Using spss 22.0 frequency analysis, T-test, ANOVA and Duncan-test were performed. Results. The knowledge level of 50s was higher those in their 20s. The higher the satisfaction level with education, the more positive was about CPR(p<.001). The more CPR training, the higher the performance(p<.01). The was a positive correlation between CPR attitude and performance ability(r=.355, p<.001). Conclusion. In order to have a positive influence on the CPR of child care teachers, the number of education should be increased and the level of education satisfaction should be managed to increase.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of hands-only CPR education according to the American Heart Association (2015) guideline for undergraduates with severe visual impairment, to provide basic data for expanding the subject of hands-only CPR education among the visually impaired. Methods: Twenty-one students attending four universities in C Province, aged 19 years or older, were enrolled in this study. These students had severe visual impairment and no other disabilities and have never received hands-only CPR education. This study data were collected from December 1, 2017 to January 11, 2018. The accuracy of the participants' technique was measured using Brayden Pro CPR manikin. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 24.0. Results: Hands-only CPR education was effective in increasing confidence and accuracy of chest compression among undergraduates with severe visual impairment. Conclusion: These findings suggest that individuals with severe visual impairment should be given more educational opportunities. Additionally, subsequent studies should develop equipment that helps increase accuracy by using video aids with commentary or other auditory components for the visually impaired.
Purpose: This research is based on experiments practiced with 6th grade students in primary school as subjects. They were trained in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation theory and received actual training in CPR. Methods: The subjects were randomly sorted into two classes of the 6th grade students. The experimental group was composed of 35 students. The control group was composed of 32. The experimental group received basic CPR theoretical and practical education once and received a practical evaluation three times, with 4 weeks in between evaluations. The control group received CPR theoretical education before the study. The data was analyzed by ${\chi}^2$-test and t-test using the SPSS/WIN 12.0 program. Results: Hypothesis 1 was that the basic CPR knowledge score would begin to decrease right after the education and continue to decrease as time passed. The experimental group's knowledge score continued to increase 12 weeks after education, but there was no decrease in the control group's knowledge score (F=5.870, p=.000). Hypothesis 2 was that the basic CPR attitude score would decrease right after the education and continue as time passed. There was no significant difference in the experimental group's score after education, nor was there any change in the control group's score on this measure (F=3.986, p=.004). Hypothesis 3 was that the subjects' confidence in practicing CPR would decrease right after education and continue as time passed. There was a significant decrease in the experimental group's score, but no significant change in the control group's score on this measure (F=75.574, p=.000). Hypothesis 4 was that the practical accomplishment evaluation score of CPR would decrease as time passed. There was a significant decrease in the experimental group's score on this measure right after education (F=38.368, p=000). Conclusion: Retraining for basic CPR education will be needed in all aspects of the education/training at least every 4 weeks, to preserve the students' retention of learned material/training. This is because students' scores fell significantly four weeks after education/training.

Objective: Performing high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is important for improving the survival rate with a good neurological outcome and fewer complications. The retention of accurate CPR knowledge is essential for providing high quality CPR. This study examined the effects of chest compression only CPR training on the retention of correct CPR knowledge. Methods: In December 2016, an interview survey to target the study population was conducted by trained interviewers, using a structured questionnaire. The respondents' general characteristics, status of CPR education, and knowledge and willingness regarding CPR were investigated. Pearson's chi-square tests and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to determine which education-related factors affected the correct skill knowledge of performing CPR. Results: Among the respondents, there are 80 persons (17.4%) who answered correctly in the questions regarding the skills of performing CPR. The respondents who had a willingness to perform CPR to family and strangers were 90.2% and 44.9% respectively. Through multivariable analysis, the factors related to correct skill knowledge in performing CPR in the didactic with practice group were people who had undergone CPR training within 2 years (odds ratio [OR], 2.293; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.311-4.009), and person who had undergone chest compression only CPR training (OR, 2.044; 95% CI, 1.033-4.042). Conclusion: Chest compression only type of CPR training and the experience of CPR education within 2 years were associated with accurate skill knowledge of performing CPR.
