Lymphoma is the most common hematopoietic malignancy in dogs. Diagnosis of lymphoma is classically performed by morphological assessment and immunohistochemistry. But some cases in the early stage are difficult to distinguish and need more objective and accurate methods. So, Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for antigen receptor rearrangements (PARR) and flow cytometric immunophenotype of lymphoma have been developed continuously. In this study, we performed these two methods to classify lymphoma type in 3 cases. According to PARR analysis, B cell origin lymphoma was diagnosed in two of three cases by testing PBMC and lymph node. All fine needle aspiration (FNA) samples of lymph nodes had high expression of CD21 on >88% of total cell population and PBMC samples also showed high expression of CD21 on >30% of total lymphocytes in those two cases, while the expression of CD3, CD4 and CD8 was absent. These results suggest that concurrent use of PARR and flow cytometric immunophenotype is more effective and valuable tool for the diagnosis and monitoring of canine lymphoma patients.
The purpose of this study was to investigate at how the quality of citron changed during storage as a result of the browning inhibitor treatment. In the browning inhibitor treatment, Vit.C, Vit.C+NaCl, Vit.C+NaCl+CD substances were used. As a result of investigating the browning degree, Vit.C+NaCl+CD showed the lowest value of 0.76 when stored for 12 weeks. The 𝚫E of the chromaticity value indicated that significant color change occurred when the value was high. As the Vit.C+NaCl+CD mixture showed the lowest value of 46.01 at 25℃, it was found that browning did not occur much compared to other treatments. The change in polyphenol oxidase (PPO) activity of citron increased as browning progressed. Among the browning inhibitor solutions, Vit.C+NaCl+CD solution showed the lowest value 118.8 u/g at 25℃ after 12 weeks. Based on these findings, it seems that CD mixing solution can be used as a citron browning inhibitor.

Highly efficient red and green phosphorescent devices comprising a simple bilayer structure are reported. The driving voltage to reach $1000\;cd/m^2$ is 4.5 V in $Bebq_2:\;Ir(piq)_3$ red phosphorescent device. Current and power efficiency values of 9.66 cd/A and 6.90 lm/W in this bi-layered simple structure PHOLEDs are obtained, respectively. While in $Bepp_2:Ir(ppy)_3$ green phosphorescent device, the operating voltage value of 3.3V and current and power efficiencies of 37.89 cd/A and 35.02 lm/W to obtain a luminance of $1000\;cd/m^2$ are noticed, respectively.
Electircal characteristics of HgCdTe photodiodes with a heterostructure to achieve high performance are analyzed numerically. A two-dimensional device simulator which can handle a HgCdTe heterostructure, was developed for this work. The effects of band nonparabolicity, carrier degeneracy, and band-offset of heterointerace are included in a carrier transport model. A unified generation-recombination model includes simultaneously phonon-assisted tunneling and pure tunneling of carriers via traps is newly employed for describing the electric field and temperature dependency of dark current effectively. Furthermore, to accurately predict the effect mole fraction variations on genration rates, ray-trace algorithm is incorporated in the our simulator. Under the various circumstances such as dark, illumination, and surface states, electrical properties of planar heterostructure photodiode are presented and those of homojunction are compared. These results serve as a explanation of cap layer's role on performance.
A cadimium-resistant strain isolated from Anyang stream, Azomonas agilis PY101 exhibited strong resistance to 1000 ppm of cadmium ion $(Cd^{2+})$. A agilis PY101 also exhibited resistance to various antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, amplicillin, bacitracin, cefazolin, erythromycin, penicillin, tetracycline, and vancomycin. In the presence of $Cd^{2+}$, the growth of A. agilis PY101 started after an extended lag phase and produced a green-fluorescent pigment induced by cadmium. The dramatic decrease (approximately 400ppm) of concentration of $cd^{2+}$ in the culture medium during the growth phase of A. agilis PY101 was confirmed by the inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrophotometer. Transmission electron microscopic analysis revealed that A. agilis PY 101 actively accumulated $Cd^{2+}$ in the cytoplasm.
[ $(Na_{0.5},\;K_{0.5})NbO_3$ ] ceramics were studied as lead free Piezoelectric materials. The addition of CdO were enhanced the sinterability of the NKN ceramics. The $(Na_{0.5},\;K_{0.47}Cd_{0.02})NbO_3$ ceramics show that electromachanical coupling factor($k_p$) is 0.34and mechanical quality factor($O_m$) is 120.
Campomelic dysplasia (CD) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by multiple skeletal anomalies and the abnormal development of male reproductive organs. To date, the SOX9 gene is the only known causal gene for CD, and approximately 90 causative mutations in SOX9 have been identified worldwide. CD is diagnosed based on clinical characteristics of skeletal dysplasia (e.g., short bowed long bones, kyphoscoliosis, bell-shaped thoracic cage with 11 pairs of ribs, and hypoplastic scapulars), typical facial features of Pierre Robin sequence with cleft palate, and gonadal dysgenesis in 46,XY individuals. Most patients with CD exhibit life-threatening respiratory failure owing to laryngotracheomalacia and hypoplastic thorax during the neonatal period. Although fatal complications decrease after infancy, several medical conditions continue to require proper management. A better understanding of this rare but lethal condition may lead to more appropriate treatments for patients.
The contents of Pb and CD measured with the barks of Pinus densiflora in Seoul area, Yangjaedong area near the Kyungbu-highway, Mt. Keryong and Mt. Seolak area, from Sep. to Ock. in 1988. Pb contents in Seoul area were 17.8 ppm at Changkyungkung, 17.1 ppm at Chongamdong, 13.2 ppm at Mt. Kwanak, 7.6 ppm at Mt. Dobong and 3.7 ppm at Mt. Surak. Except Mt. Kwanak, the difference between areas of central and mountains in Seoul were high significant. Mt Seolak area also showed variations in Pb contents from 16.8 ppm to 32.1 ppm according to studied sites. Cd contents in Seoul area were 0.47 ppm at Changkyungkung, 0.65 ppm at Chongamdong, 0.61 ppm at Mt. Kwanak, 0.52 ppm at Mt. Dobong, 0.47 ppm at Mt. Surak. Therefore, Cd contents in Seoul area exhibited more variations between sampling plots than between the areas of central and mountains in Seoul. Mt Seolak area also showed variations from 0.20 ppm to 0.34 ppm in Cd contents, and it was the lowest in all the studied area.
Bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) are largely studied for their potential clinical use. But it is hard to get enough number of those cells for clinical trials and give serious pain to the patients. Adipose tissue is derived from the embryonic mesenchyme and contains a stroma that is easily isolated with large amount. This cell population (adipose derived stem cells: ADSCs) can be isolated from human lipoaspirates and like MSCs, differentiate toward the osteogenic, adipogenic, myogenic and chondrogenic lineages. To confirm whether adipose tissue contains stem cells, the ADSCs extracted from omental or subcutaneous fat tissue were expanded during third to fifth passages. The phenotype of the ADSCs was identified by the conventional cell surface markers using flow cytometry: positive for CD29 and CD44, but negative for CD34, CD45, CD117 and HLA-DR that similar to those observed on BMSCs. The ADSCs were able to differentiate into the osteoblast or adipocytes with induction media. Finally, ADACs expressed multiple CD marker antigens similar to those observed on BMSCs and differentiated into osteoblast, adipocyte. With this, human adipotissue contains multipotent cells and may represent an alternative stem cell source to bone marrow-derived MSCs.
