ON SPACES IN WHICH COMPACT-LIKE SETS ARE CLOSED, AND RELATED SPACES

  • In this paper, we study on C-closed spaces, SC-closed spaces and related spaces. We show that a sequentially compact SC-closed space is sequential and as corollaries obtain that a sequentially compact space with unique sequential limits is sequential if and only if it is C-closed [7, 1.19 Proposition] and every sequentially compact SC-closed space is C-closed. We also show that a countably compact WAP and C-closed space is sequential and obtain that a countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) WAP-space with unique sequential limits is sequential if and only if it is C-closed as a corollary. Finally we prove that a weakly discretely generated AP-space is C-closed. We then obtain that every countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) weakly discretely generated AP-space is $Fr\acute{e}chet$-Urysohn with unique sequential limits, for weakly discretely generated AP-spaces, unique sequential limits ${\equiv}KC{\equiv}C-closed{\equiv}SC-closed$, and every continuous surjective function from a countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) space onto a weakly discretely generated AP-space is closed as corollaries.

  • We have introduced two new notions of convexity and closedness in functional analysis. Let X be a real normed space, then $C({\subseteq}X)$ is functionally convex (briefly, F-convex), if $T(C){\subseteq}{\mathbb{R}}$ is convex for all bounded linear transformations $T{\in}B$(X, R); and $K({\subseteq}X)$ is functionally closed (briefly, F-closed), if $T(K){\subseteq}{\mathbb{R}}$ is closed for all bounded linear transformations $T{\in}B$(X, R). By using these new notions, the Alaoglu-Bourbaki-Eberlein-${\check{S}}muljan$ theorem has been generalized. Moreover, we show that X is reflexive if and only if the closed unit ball of X is F-closed. James showed that for every closed convex subset C of a Banach space X, C is weakly compact if and only if every $f{\in}X^{\ast}$ attains its supremum over C at some point of C. Now, we show that if A is an F-convex subset of a Banach space X, then A is bounded and F-closed if and only if every element of $X^{\ast}$ attains its supremum over A at some point of A.

  • Semi-open을 기초로 하여 만들어진 S-closed 공간의 일반적인 성질을 살펴보고 S-closed 공간과 (maximum) filterbase와의 관계를 조사하였다. 이를 바탕으로 regular closed된 cover C, regular open set인 족(族) C, rc-accumulation, (maximum) filterbase에서의 관계(關係)를 살펴 보았다. Mapping theory에서 almost-open almost-continuous map f가 almost continuous되는 것을 보였다.

  • Let ψ be an analytic function on 𝔻, the unit disc in the complex plane, and φ be an analytic self-map of 𝔻. Let 𝓑 be a Banach space of functions analytic on 𝔻. The weighted composition operator Wφ,ψ on 𝓑 is defined as Wφ,ψf = ψf ◦ φ, and the composition operator Cφ defined by Cφf = f ◦ φ for f ∈ 𝓑. Consider α > -1 and 1 ≤ p < ∞. In this paper, we prove that if φ ∈ H(𝔻), then Cφ has closed range on any weighted Dirichlet space 𝒟α if and only if φ(𝔻) satisfies the reverse Carleson condition. Also, we investigate the closed rangeness of weighted composition operators on the weighted Bergman space Apα.

  • Experiments and numerical simulations of the incremental upsetting test were carried out to investigate void closure behavior and mechanical characteristic of a 1.5wt%C ultra-high carbon steel. The experimental results showed that the voids become quickly smaller as the reduction ratio increases. The simulation results confirmed this behavior and indicated that the voids were completely closed at a reduction ratio of about 40~45% during incremental upsetting. After the completion of the incremental upsetting tests, the process of diffusion bonding was employed to heal the closed voids in the deformed specimens. To check the appropriate temperature for diffusion bonding, deformed specimens were kept at 800, 900, 1000 and $1100^{\circ}C$ for an hour. In order to investigate the effect of holding time for diffusion bonding at $1100^{\circ}C$, specimens were kept at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60minutes in the furnace. A distinction between closed and healed voids was clearly established using microstructural observations. In addition, subsequent tensile tests demonstrated that complete healing of a closed void was achieved for diffusion bonding temperatures in the range $900{\sim}1100^{\circ}C$ with a holding time larger than 1 hour.

  • Closed drift ion source는 그 특성으로 인하여 강판 표면처리, 금속 표면 산화막 형성, 폴리머 혹은 기타 표면 개질 등 다양한 분야에서 사용이 되고 있다. 다양한 환경에서 사용 되는 소스의 특성으로 인하여 각기 다른 공정에 대한 최적의 특성이 요구 되며, 이러한 공정 환경에 맞춘 소스를 설계하기 위해서 ion source내 전극의 구조 및 자기장 세기 등 이온소스의 구조적 특성에 대한 연구가 필요하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 선형 이온소스의 구조 설계를 위한 실험을 소형(이온빔 인출 슬릿 직경: 60 mm) 이온빔 인출 장치를 제작하여 전극 구조에 따른 방전 특성을 우선적으로 평가를 실시하여 소형 이온빔 인출 장치에서 도출된 결과를 바탕으로 0.3 m급 linear closed drift ion source 설계에 대한 변수를 조사 하였다. 실험은 양극-음극(C-A) 간 간격 및 음극 슬릿(C-C) 간격 그리고 자기장 세기 조건에서 방전 전류 및 인출 이온빔 전류량 측정하였으며, 이 결과를 전산모사 결과와 비교 하였다. 방전전압 1~5 kV, 가스유량 10~50 sccm 조건에서 Ar 이온빔 방전 특성을 평가한 결과, 양극-음극(C-A) 간격이 넓을수록, 음극-음극(C-C) 간격이 좁을수록 방전 전류량이 증가함을 확인 하였다. 또한, 공정 가스 압력 및 자기장 세기 변화에 따른 1~5 kV의 방전 전압에 대한 방전 특성의 관찰 결과, 압력 및 자기장 변화에 따라서 방전 전류의 변화를 관찰 할 수 있었으며, 이에 대한 결과를 통하여 이온 소스 구조 내부에서의 방전 영역에 대한 압력과 자기장 세기에 대한 영향을 분석 할 수 있었다.

  • Alamouti STC (Space-Time Code) is a part of the UMTS-WCDMA standard. However, up to the best of our knowledge no closed-form BER formula for this famous code exists. Evaluating its performance through simulations is time-consuming and therefore, there should be analytical BER graphs to serve as a reference which are derived in this paper for coherently BPSK-modulated data.

  • In this paper, we introduce closure operators [${\cdot}$]c and [${\cdot}$]a on a space and study some relations among [${\cdot}$]c, [${\cdot}$]a and countable tightness. We introduce the concepts of a strongly sequentially closed set and a strongly sequentially open set and show that a space X has countable tightness if and only if every strongly sequentially closed set is closed if and only if every strongly sequentially open set is open. Finally we find a generalization of the weak Fr$\'{e}$chet-Urysohn property which is equivalent to countable tightness.

  • This study is for stabilization of the water balance of the closed cooling water system. The pipe network analysis program is used for the water balance review, and the resistance factor correction is performed through the field measurement with the ultrasonic flowmeter to improve the reliability of the pipe network software. Based on this, it is aimed to derive optimal driving method through various case simulations.
