원천 데이터 품질이 빅데이터 분석결과의 유용성과 활용도에 미치는 영향 (An Empirical Study on the Effects of Source Data Quality on the Usefulness and Utilization of Big Data Analytics Results)

  • This study sheds light on the source data quality in big data systems. Previous studies about big data success have called for future research and further examination of the quality factors and the importance of source data. This study extracted the quality factors of source data from the user's viewpoint and empirically tested the effects of source data quality on the usefulness and utilization of big data analytics results. Based on the previous researches and focus group evaluation, four quality factors have been established such as accuracy, completeness, timeliness and consistency. After setting up 11 hypotheses on how the quality of the source data contributes to the usefulness, utilization, and ongoing use of the big data analytics results, e-mail survey was conducted at a level of independent department using big data in domestic firms. The results of the hypothetical review identified the characteristics and impact of the source data quality in the big data systems and drew some meaningful findings about big data characteristics.

중소기업을 위한 프로젝트 수행역량 평가모델 (A Project Competency Assessment Model for Small and Medium Enterprises)

  • The competitiveness of modern organizations highly depends upon organizational competencies rather than individual competencies. However, most of previous studies on project success focused on individual competencies, such as project manager's competency and leadership. Even though there are some assessment models for the organizational project competencies, they are limited in specific organizations and industries. Furthermore, it is difficult to apply them to domestic companies, especially to small and medium enterprises because some assessment items are inappropriate for them. The purpose of this study is to propose an organizational project competency assessment model that is suitable for evaluating small and medium enterprises. First, the assessment areas and items for each area are determined through extensive investigation of previous models including OPM3, CMMI, and PMBOK. Next, the weights of assessment areas and items are decided by AHP analysis of experts response in the field of the project management. Finally, a project competency assessment model with assessment sheets is proposed. The model proposed in this study might support managers of small and medium enterprises to find pros and cons of project competencies and to establish improvement plans.

  • 본 연구에서는 효과적인 e-비즈니스를 실현하기 위해서 기업의 기간시스템으로 간주되는 ERP의 구현사례를 중소기업을 중심으로 분석을 하였다. 특히 기업에서 ERP를 구현하기 위해서 현재의 경영환경 분석을 바탕으로 BPR의 활동을 집중적으로 분석하므로 ERP구현 효과와 시스템 활용실태 및 평가를 도출하게 되었다 즉 BPR활동을 수행한 본 연구의 CM콘크리트사의 ERP구현사례의 분석에서 알 수 있듯이, BPR활동은 성공적인 ERP구현의 필요충분 조건으로 향후 ERP도입을 계획하고 있는 중소기업에게 성공적 ERP시스템 구현은 물론 기업정보시스템의 실행성과를 높일 수 있는 중요한 지침을 제공할 수 있다고 판단된다.

Japan and the 'Flying Geese' Pattern of East Asian Integration

  • In this paper uses Kaname Akamatsu's 'Flying Geese' model to analyse Japan's role in East Asian integration. Japan made the first attempt to lead Asian countries before the Second World War. At that time, the Japanese Government embarked on a brutally expansionist policy the result of which was creation of the first gaggle of 'flying geese' under the name of the 'Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere.' During the 'flight' Japan was forcefully imposing its own ideals and values on the rest of the 'gaggle.' At the same time, the Japanese Government assumed hostile attitude toward Western countries. Japan's defeat in the Second World War signified the end of flight for the first 'flying geese' gaggle. After the war, Japan made another attempt at regional integration. This time it was done through establishing a production network in East Asia. Thus the second gaggle of 'flying geese' came into existence. During the flight of the 'second gaggle' of geese, Japan was fostering good ties with Western countries as well, especially the United States. However, some leaders of the 'second gaggle's' member-countries emboldened by their countries' economic success proclaimed that future belongs to Asia and put forward the 'Asian values' argument. The Asian economic crisis of 1997 interrupted the flight of the 'second gaggle' and effectively put an end to the 'Asian values' debate. It is interesting to note that some elements of the 'Asian values' argument resembled ultranationalist discourse that had been dominant in Japan before and during the Second World War. This paper compares historical patterns of East Asian regional integration and highlights future challenges for Japan's Asia policy.

  • 용산 국제 업무지구, 인천 송도국제도시, 일본의 록본기힐즈, 미드타운 등 최근의 국내 외의 건설프로젝트의 유형은 주거, 상업, 업무, 공공, 문화, 여가 등이 복합되어 수평 및 수직적인 공간에 입체적으로 배치되는 입체 복합 공간 개발이 주류를 이루고 있다. 입체 복합 공간 개발에서의 메가프로젝트는 다양한 참여주체 간의 복잡한 이해관계, 민간 및 공공 개발 영역의 혼재, 운영유지 및 자산 관리의 중요성 등 복합적이고 상호 조율된 가치를 추구한다. 따라서 이런 메가프로젝트를 성공적으로 수행하기 위해서는 기존의 단위 또는 다중프로젝트관리 시스템과는 다른 종합사업관리 시스템이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 메가프로젝트 수행을 위한 지능형 종합사업관리 시스템의 플랫폼 디자인 방안을 제시하여 실제 프로그램 개발에 도움을 주고자 한다.

  • With the advent of Ubiquitous era, Korean government understood its strategic importance and formulated 'IT839 Strategies' with various action plans not to miss the great opportunities which it may allow and eventually to realize u-Korea. As a result, m-Commerce is actualized and new types of Ubiquitous services such as digital multimedia broadcasting(DMB) and wireless broadband Internet(WiBro) are now on their commercial stages. Digital contents are the key success factors of these new services. Digital contents industry is regarded as next generation of growth engine in the digital economy, because it is knowledge-based and high value-added global industry affecting positively on the whole private and public sectors. This paper reviewed the characteristics, business models, technical and market trend of digital contents to be compatible with Ubiquitous environment. Also, it reviewed the development strategies of DMB and WiBro services, which are newly introduced and commercialized in Korea to make it as world leader in these fields. It may be concluded that Korea should make more efforts to development market-oriented digital contents for Ubiquitous era and to realize the sustained economic growth.

Location Selection Factors for International Distribution Center in Port Hinterland - A Review of Busan New Port Hinterland from User's Perspective -

  • As port functions change to act as an economic catalyst and take on a central position in industries engaged in international trade, port hinterland has become a significant component in international shipping. The success of port hinterland as a strategic base of logistic activities critically depends on location selection factor for international distribution center that links elements of global supply chain management. By examining multi-measurement items empirically, this paper analyzed location selection factor for international logistics distribution center in port hinterland, and evaluated Busan new port hinterland from the user's perspective. Employing exploratory factor analysis, the results revealed that the model structured around five factors incorporating geo-location and accessibility, availability, political supports, cost factors, and quality of business environment is valid and reliable in the context of the location selection factors for logistics distribution center in the context of port hinterland operations. The evaluation of Busan new port hinterland provides useful insights for strategic improvement to accommodate the users' expectation. Further, the model offers both a descriptive and diagnostic strategic management tool for port hinterland development and operations, to guide future improvement.

기업 간 협업 네트워크의 창발 : 관계 역량을 중심으로 (Emergence of Inter-organizational Collaboration Networks : Relational Capability Perspective)

  • This paper proposes relational capability as a main driver of constructing inter-organizational collaboration networks. Based on social network theory and relational view literature, three components of relational capability are constructed and implemented by an agent-based model. The components include organizational capability, structural capability, and trust between a partner and a focal firm. These three components are updated by two micro mechanisms: structural mechanism and relational mechanism. Structural mechanism is a feedback loop in which the relational capability increases structural capability and vice versa. Relational mechanism is a learning-by-doing process in which a focal firm experiences success or failure of collaboration and the experience increases or decreases cumulative trust in a partner firm. Result of agent-based simulation shows that a collaboration network emerges through interactions of firm's relational capabilities and the characteristics of emerged networks vary with the contribution of structural capability and trust to relational capability. Specifically, in case structural capability contributes more to relational capability, the average degree centrality and collaboration proportion increases as time passes and enters into an equilibrium state. In that case, almost every firms participated in the network collaborates each other so that the emerged network becomes highly cohesive. In case trust contributes more to relational capability, the results are reversed. In an equilibrium state, the balance of contribution between structural capability and trust makes an emerged network larger and maximizes average degree centrality of the network.

기업의 핵심역량이 IT 아웃소싱 성과에 직접적인 관련이 있을 것인가? (Does the Understanding of Core Competencies Matter to IT Outsourcing Performance?)

  • IT outsourcing providers has been expanded from a single functional system to the entire IT service to gain sustainable competitiveness. This new trend of IT outsourcing need outsourcing management capability based on a firm's core capacity. Hiring external IT service providers to manage part or all of its information-related services helps a firm focus on its core business and provides better services to its clients, thus obtaining sustainable competitive advantage. This research investigates the major factors that determine the level of a particular firm's success at IT outsourcing. Based on process innovation and core-competency theories, we identify three significant components of a firm's IT outsourcing management method (ITOMM): level of core-competency-based management, maturity of outsourced tasks, and maturity of outsourcing management. Comprehensive data collection was conducted through an outsourcing association. The survey data were analyzed using a structural analysis method. Maturity of outsourced tasks and maturity of outsourcing management were found to affect project performance directly, while level of core-competency-based management only indirectly impacted project performance through its positive impact on the other two ITOMM components.

Global Distribution Enterprises' Entry into the Chinese Market: Focus on the Three Northeastern Provinces

  • Purpose - This study aims to investigate Korean distribution enterprises' entry into the Chinese market. By studying Korean companies' strategy and current situation in the Chinese retail market and analyzing Lotte Mart's strategy, this study was aimed at identifying comprehensive strategies for Korean companies striving to expand in China's retail market. Research design, data, and methodology - A case study approach is used, focusing on the three northeastern provinces in China, and examining global firms' entry into the Chinese market. The study employed a direct survey and a literature review. Results - Korean distribution firms' entry into the overseas market is in the inception stage and it should be developed, considering its effects on the national economy and other industries. Conclusion - The cases of E-mart and Lotte Mart, representing Korean distribution firms, showed that they should not rely on scale to succeed in China. Both preliminary analysis and careful strategies are required to ensure success. Considering the high growth potential of the Chinese market, a management strategy that takes account of Chinese people's emotions was needed.
