  • An Enterprise Architecture (EA) Framework is a tool which supports implementation of the Enterprise architecture that is used to enhance the interoperability of the IT components. In this paper, we propose a framework named as ENAE (ENterprise Architecture Framework) which combines enterprise architecture unit (AU), reference model, and association relationship between domain model. Architecture Unit is defined as a minimum set of a business process and its associated components such as application system and technical components. An EA can be designed and implemented by the aggregating the related AUs including association relationship between Architecture Units. Because UML model has limitations to describe business domain semantics because it is designed for general purpose, we adapt the DSM (Domain Specific Modeling) concept. We describe association relationship between Architecture Units designed by Domain Specific Modeling through Topic Map. Session 2 describes related works about Enterprise Architecture frameworks, Domain Specific Modeling, and Topic Map, while Session 3 explains components of the ENAF. Finally Session 4 shows the case study for implementation of the new Framework called ENAF.

  • The launch of a new business is crucial to the future growth and profitability of a company. A new business project typically requires a large amount of resources while it has a high possibility of failure. The evaluation of new business opportunities is therefore quite a critical decision-making to companies. This evaluation includes screening of a large number of criteria at a time which often makes desision-making very complicated. Management should evaluate the business alternatives in a sound and consistent manner that is hard to achieve because the new business evaluation is a typical semi/unstructured decision-making problem. The difficulty in such an evaluation will increase if it is required for management to consider both quantitative and qualitative criteria simultaneously. Under these circumstances, this study has proposed a decision-making framework that utilizes analytical hierarchy process(AHP). This study has identified a set of criteria essential to the new business evaluation and suggested a systematic framework for it. Both qualitative and quantitative evaluations are incorporated into the single framework in this study.

  • The aim of this research is to propose new framework for taxonomy of various business and its concept, due to the changes in market space. This framework is three-dimension cubic model, based on three concepts, business layer(BL), value chain(VC), and Real/Virtual(R/V) that symbolizes real environment and virtual(or cyber) space. And we showed that this framework is able to describe all expected(or existed) business types in certain industry by the combinations of BL-VC-R/V on three dimension. In addition, we suggested new definition of e-business and e-Logistics from view of BL-VC-R/V. In order to test availability, this framework was applied for logistics related business. and classified typical business types existed (or expected) in logistics area.

These companies sustain the competitiveness through changing the components of their business model. To study the way of keeping Korean IT companies' edges sharp, it is required to examine the components that bring innovations to their current business model. This study identifies the critical components of business model and provides an analytical business model framework. A comparative case study was employed to examine the characteristics of Korean IT companies' business model through the proposed framework. The result of this study can contribute to increase understanding of the business model of Korean IT companies and to suggest challenges in business model they face.

  • Business analytics is a management tool for achieving significant business performance improvements. Many organizations fail to or only partially achieve their business objectives and goals from business analytics. Business analytics adoption is a multi-stage complex activity consisting of evaluation, adoption, and assimilation stages. Several research papers have been published in the field of business analytics, but the research on multi-stage BA adoption is fewer in number. This study contributes to the scant literature on the multi-stage adoption model by identifying the critical themes for evaluation, adoption, and assimilation stages of business analytics. This study uses the thematic content analysis of peer-reviewed published academic papers as a research technique to explore the key themes of business analytics adoption. This study links the critical themes with the popular theoretical foundations: Resource-Based View (RBV), Dynamic Capabilities, Diffusion of Innovations, and Technology-Organizational-Environmental (TOE) framework. The study identifies twelve major factors categorized into three key themes: organizational characteristics, innovation characteristics, and environmental characteristics. The main organizational factors are top management support, organization data environment, centralized analytics structure, perceived cost, employee skills, and data-based decision making culture. The major innovation characteristics are perceived benefits, complexity, and compatibility, and information technology assets. The environmental factors influencing BA adoption stages are competition and industry pressure. A conceptual framework for the multi-stage BA adoption model is proposed in this study. The findings of this study can assist the practicing managers in developing a stage-wise operational strategy for business analytics adoption. Future research can also attempt to validate the conceptual model proposed in this study.

  • Although the concept of viewing knowledge as a critical resource has been widely accepted in prior studies, it is not fully understood how to acquire available knowledge in order to improve organizational effectiveness. However, it si sure that organizational knowledge management should pursuit the achievement of the business goal by delivering relevant and useful information to the right person at the right time. Group Support System (GSS) can play an important role to transfer scatter information into meaningful business knowledge for supporting strategic corporate decision-making. This study proposes a fuzzy GSS framework for acquiring workgroup knowledge from individual memory and aggregating workgroup knowledge to organizational knowledge. This study also proposes an architecture to support the fuzzy GSS framework. The architecture consists of user agents, information management agents, and a fuzzy model manager. To illustrate how the fuzzy GSS framework can be used to support the whole process of organization knowledge acquisition, an Internet-based GSS was developed and applied in a marketing decision process. It showed that the framework was effective for acquiring organizational knowledge.

  • In this research, we study on the servitization of manufacturing firms. We review literature on the servitization based on business ecosystem and internalization with extended servitization framework. We develop and suggest a conceptual framework to understand the servitization. This conceptual framework includes four parts: service competitive strategy(Porter Michael, 1980), product-service-knowledge system(PSKS), value chain, and servitization configuration. To confirm the applicability of this model, six cases are employed.

  • Business process modeling is to represent the business activities in a graphical notation that enterprises use to achieve their customer's requirements. Nowadays, lots of requirements are changed quickly and variously. Therefore, business process models should provide the means which can prepare for changes by analyzing (pointing) elements of business process that are likely to alter. In this paper, we propose a business process family model (BPFM) which represents the commonalities and the variabilities of a set of business processes. In addition, we propose the process which develops the tools for BPFM based on Eclipse Plug-In Graphical Modeling Framework (GMF). The variabilities of Business Process are modeled by using expanded model elements of UML2.0 activity diagram.
