전신체열촬영(全身體熱撮影)에 의한 우울증(憂鬱症)과 안면마비(顔面麻痺)의 객관적(客觀的) 진단방법(診斷方法) 모색(摸索) (The clinical study of Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging on Depressed patients)

  • Depression is a psychiatric syndrom consisting of dejected mood, psychomotor retardation, insomnia and weight loss. sometimes associated with irrational quilt feeling. And it is also similiar to Hwa-byung(火病) symptom in oriental medicine. But it is difficult to diagnose with objective method. Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging(D.I.T.I.) is one of diagnotic method that measure the changes of skin temperature in body.Specially we checked the skin temperature on depressed patients by using D.I.T.I. and compared with Bell's palsy patients and normal persons group.The results are as follows:Average body temperature of the depressed patient group is 36.62${\cdot}$0.58$^{\circ}C$ , Bell's palsy patients group is 36.59${\cdot}$0.34$^{\circ}C$ and that of the control group is 36.71${\cdot}$0.43$^{\circ}C$ . So there is no meaningful difference. The depressed patient group has higher temperature than the Bell's palsy patients group and control group by $\delta$T〉1.0$^{\circ}C$ at the following acupuncture points in these body parts - upper and lower, left and right, anterior and posterior. When acupuncture points temperature was compared superior and inferior part of the body, depressed patient group have meaningful difference at the GV-4 (Myung-moon) and also in the Bell's palsy patients group and control group.When acupuncture points temperature was compared left and right part of the body. ddpressed patient group have no meaningful difference and also in the Bell's palsy patients group and control group.When acupuncture points temperature was compared in the anterior and posterior part of the body, depressed patient group have meaningful difference at the Gv-4(Myung-moon) and also in the bell's palsy patients group and control group.From this study. we think that D.I.T.I. could be used to diagnose objectively on the depressed patients and useful to another psychoneurogenic diagnosis in oriental medicine.

  • Characteristics of the lung inflation and deflation reflexes were measured at various temperatures on the cervical vagi in five anesthetized mongrel dogs. Nerve temperature was maintained at the body temperature, and 2-14˚C with 2˚C apart using a specially designed automated vagal cooling apparatus with an accuracy to within $\pm$ 0.1˚c at each temperature. The inflation reflex was blocked abruptly at 8-10˚C. The deflation reflex started weakened at 14˚C, thereafter showed a gradual blockade with the temperature decreased with a substantial variance among the animals.It was approximately 75% blocked at 2-5˚C. These differences in temperature characteristics made it hard to differentiate the deflation reflex from the inflation reflex. In one animal, however, the inflation reflex was completely blocked with the deflation reflex almost alive at 6-8˚C. This suggests that differential cold blockade of the vagal reflexes can be done only in selected subjects. Furthermore, the fact that these two reflexes were blocked at different temperatures may be due to the differences in the nerve fiber size and the changes in the conduction velocity with temperature.

Variations in the body surface temperature of sows during the post weaning period and its relation to subsequent reproductive performance

  • Objective: A study was made investigate factors affecting body surface temperature changes after weaning in sows, whether these can be used to aid detection of natural estrus and how they relate to subsequent reproductive performance. Methods: A total of 132 sows were selected during summer from a breeding farm, with mean parity of 3.6±2.3 and 28.5±0.9 days lactation length. Four daily measurements (6:00, 8:00, 16:00, and 18:00) of vulva (VST), udder (UST), ear base and central back skin temperatures for individual sows were taken by an infrared thermometer, continuing up to 8 days post weaning. Results: The VST obtained from sows showing estrus at 4 days post-weaning (4DPW), 5DPW, and 6DPW showed a peak at the fourth day post-weaning, but then started to decrease. The VST of sows not detected in standing heat (NDPW) remained at a lower level during the experiment, but UST was increased soon after weaning. The VST-UST temperature differences during daytime of sows that were showing behavioural standing heat on 4DPW, 5DPW, 6DPW, and 7DPW were 0.46℃±0.123℃, 0.71℃±0.124℃, 0.66℃ ±0.171℃, and 0.58℃±0.223℃, respectively. The NDPW sows had the highest UST observed, but also the lowest VST so that a more negative value of temperature difference (-0.31℃) was seen during first few days post-weaning. A total of 119 sows were observed to show standing heat and were bred. The later the estrus, the smaller the litter size (p = 0.005). Conclusion: Sows which did not show behavior indicative of stable standing heat after weaning had a VST which remained at a lower level, but the UST increased soon after weaning. Therefore, for sow heat detection under field conditions, the changes of VST and UST and difference between the two should be considered together to increase the accuracy of detection.

고양이에서 체표냉각에 따른 심혈관계 변동에 관한 연구 (Cardiovascular Changes of Cat in Hypothermia)

  • Hypothermia is an essential preparatory procedure for cardiac surgery, which lows the metabolic rate and myocardial oxygen demand. However, hypothermia itself is a stress enough to change the tonus of sympathoadrenal system, especially the cardiovascular responses to the catecholamines. It is reported that the positive chronotropic and inotropic response of catecholamines is exaggerated during hypothermia because of decreased norepinephrine uptake at the junctional cleft or decreased catecholamine metabolism. On the other hand, there are evidences of diminished catecholamines responses in low temperature ana further, interconversion of adrenergic receptors is also suggested. Present investigation was planned to observe the cardiovascular changes and its responses to catecholamines during surface hypothermia in cat. Healthy mongrel cats, weighing $2{\sim}3\;kg$, anesthetized with secobarbital(30 mg/kg), were permitted to hypothermia by external cooling technic. Esophageal temperature, ECG (lead II), heart rate, left ventricular pressure with dP/dt, carotid artery pressure and left ventricular contractile force were monitored with Polygragh (Model 7, Grass), and the respiration was maintained with artificial respirator (V 5 KG, Narco). Followings are summarized results. 1) Surface cooling caused progressive decrease of body temperature and reached $l8.8{\pm}0.8^{\circ}C$ and $16.9{\pm}0.6^{\circ}C$ in 120 and 150 min respectively, after immersion into ice water, and ventricular fibrillation was developed at $20.4{\pm}0.65^{\circ}C$. 2) Heart rate, blood pressure and myocardial contractility were decreased after initial increase as the body temperature falls. 3) Systolic and diastolicdd P/dt of left ventricular pressure were decreased and that the decrement of diastolic dP/dt was more marked. 4) On ECG, ST depression, Twave inversion and prolongation of PR interval were prominent in hypothermia, and moreover, the prolongation of PR interval was marked just prior to the development of ventricular fibrillation. 5) The cardiovascular responses to catecholamines, especially to isoproterenol, were suppressed under hypothermia.

동절기 노루궁뎅이버섯 자실체 발생 특성 (Characteristics of Hericium erinaceus fruit body genesis in winter)

  • 생육실 내 외부 환경조건과 종균 배양 및 자실체 특성검정 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 먼저, 종균배양이 외부 온도의 영향을 받는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 배양실의 환경 조건($22^{\circ}C$, 65-68%, 700-1,200 ppm)을 일정하게 하여도 외부 기온이 낮고, 건조해지는 1월(동절기)에는 16-18일 가량 늦은 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 외부 기후에 따라 생육실 내부 환경이 영향을 받아, 자실체 생장이 느리고 발생 형태가 다른 것을 확인하였다. 동일한 조건($18{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, 85-95%, 700-1,200ppm)을 설정한 생육실에서 재배한 버섯이 수량(무게), 길이(크기) 모두 1월에 수확한 버섯이 3월에 수확한 버섯에 비해 작은 수치임을 확인하였고, 경도가 작아 품질 면에서도 양호하지 못함을 확인하였다. 이는 1월 외부의 영하의 저온과 60% 이하의 저습에 의해 생육실 내부 환경이 변화하여 일어난 현상임을 알 수 있었다. 아울러 버섯의 특성은 일정 시일이 지난 후 외부 기후를 보완하여 실내 환경을 조절하여도 개선되지 않음을 확인하였다. 일정 기간이 지난 후의 조치는 균의 노후화만 진행시켜 색만 변화할 뿐 크기가 커지거나 침이 형성되지 않았다. 그러므로 환경스트레스를 받지 않도록 미리 예방하는 것이 필요하다. 환기와 생육관리를 위해 생육실 내부 환경이 외부로 노출될 때, 외부 환경이 영향을 미치지 않도록 에어커튼 혹은 보온 커튼을 덧대어 문제가 발생하지 않도록 해야할 것이다. 특히, 동절기와 같이 외부 기온이 낮고, 습도가 낮은 시기에는 특별히 주의가 필요할 것이다.

노년기 지연성 근육통증에 대한 가우스 자기장 치료가 신체 체열 변화에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Gaussian Magnetic Therapy on Body Temperature in Elderly Women with Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness)

  • 본 연구는 노년기 지연성 근육통증에 대해 가우스 자기장 영역별 적용을 통해 체열 변화와 통증척도를 분석하고자 하였다. 이에 노년기 여성 15명(연령;$69.47{\pm}1.60$)을 대상으로 선정하여 반복측정을 통한 실험에 임하였다. 가우스 자기장 영역을 3범위(1000G, 1500G, 2000G) 영역으로 나누어 임의 제작한 자기장 손목밴드 적용하여 착용전과 후에 나타나는 체열변화와 통증 결과를 SPSS 19.0을 이용하여 정리하였다. 치료 영역별 전-후 차이검증을 위해서 종속 t검증(Paired t-test)과 집단 간 차이와 상호작용 효과 차이검증을 위해 two-way ANOVA을 실시하였고 사후검증(Duncan)을 통해 분석하였다. 유의 수준은 ${\alpha}=.05$로 설정 하였다. 이상의 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 가우스 자기장 영역별 전-후 체열 변화는 세 집단 모두 유의한 차이를 보였다(P<.05). 집단 간 상호 작용의 결과에서도 유의한 차이를 보였다(P<.05). 지연성 근육 통증척도에서도 시기 간-집단 간 모두 유의한 차이를 보였다. 가장 큰 차이를 보인 영역은 1500G 영역에서 나타났다. 1000G - 1500G 가우스 영역이 체열과 근육통증 변화에 가장 이상적인 자기장 영역이라 판단된다. 결론적으로 가우스 자기장 1000G-1500G영역이 노년기 신체 체열과 근육통증에 영향을 줄 수 있으며 노년기 인간 삶의 질에 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 사료된다. 추후 연구에서는 가우스 자기장 효과를 인체 세포의 생리학적 측면에서의 연구가 필요하다고 사료된다.

자기공명영상이 인체에 미치는 영향 : 치아임플란트 재료에 따른 차이 분석 (Effects of Magnetic Resonance Imaging on the Human Body : Analysis of differences according to Dental Implant Material)

  • Brain MRI 검사에서는 영상을 얻기 위해 RF Pulse를 인체에 조사하게 되는데 이때 조사된 RF Pulse 에너지의 상당부분은 우리 몸에 그대로 흡수되게 되고 이로 인해 인체의 온도가 상승하게 되는데 노출정도에 따라 인체에 영향을 주게 된다. 그리고 같은 RF Pulse 에너지를 주었더라도 인체에 금속이 삽입되었다면 금속으로 인한 전자파 전도도가 증가하기 때문에 SAR가 증가하고 체온도 변화하게 된다. 이에 Brain MRI검사 시 치아 임플란트의 재료에 따라 발생되는 두부 전체의 SAR와 온도의 변화를 비교 분석하고자 한다. 실험은 인체 두부모델에 1.5Tesla MRI장비에서 발생되는 64MHz RF Pulse 주파수, 3.0Tesla MRI장비에서 발생되는 128MHz RF Pulse 주파수를 조사한 뒤 치아 임플란트 재료를 Titanium과 $Al_2O_3$로 변화시킨 경우 두부 전체의 SAR와 온도 변화를 알아본다. 치아 임플란트 재료의 변화에서 Titanium을 사용하였을 때, 두부 전체의 SAR와 온도는 높게 나타났다. 하지만 $Al_2O_3$을 사용하였을 때, Titanium보다 두부 전체의 SAR와 온도는 낮게 나타났다. 치아 임플란트의 재료는 금속의 비중이 작은 경금속이면서 전기적 도체인 Titanium과 비교했을 때 전기전도도가 낮은 전기적 부도체인 $Al_2O_3$에서 두부 전체의 SAR와 온도는 낮게 나타났다. 치아 임플란트 재료가 Titanium 일 경우 SAR의 최대값은 제한치보다 월등히 높기 때문에 향후 Titanium의 치아 임플란트 재료를 삽입한 환자가 Brain MRI 검사를 할 경우 환자의 생물학적 영향과 관련된 연구가 필요할 것이다. 또한, 치아 임플란트 시술 시 Titanium보다는 $Al_2O_3$ 재질의 치아 임플란트를 사용하는 것이 Brain MRI 검사에서 인체 두부 전체의 SAR와 온도를 감소시키는 방안이라는 점을 발견할 수 있었다.

Thermomechanical deformation in porous generalized thermoelastic body with variable material properties

  • The two-dimensional deformation of a homogeneous, isotropic thermoelastic half-space with voids with variable modulus of elasticity and thermal conductivity subjected to thermomechanical boundary conditions has been investigated. The formulation is applied to the coupled theory(CT) as well as generalized theories: Lord and Shulman theory with one relaxation time(LS), Green and Lindsay theory with two relaxation times(GL) Chandrasekharaiah and Tzou theory with dual phase lag(C-T) of thermoelasticity. The Laplace and Fourier transforms techniques are used to solve the problem. As an application, concentrated/uniformly distributed mechanical or thermal sources have been considered to illustrate the utility of the approach. The integral transforms have been inverted by using a numerical inversion technique to obtain the components of displacement, stress, changes in volume fraction field and temperature distribution in the physical domain. The effect of dependence of modulus of elasticity on the components of stress, changes in volume fraction field and temperature distribution are illustrated graphically for a specific model. Different special cases are also deduced.

CFD모사를 이용한 저수지 물순환장치 유동 설계 (Design of convection current circulation system in reservoir using CFD simulation)

  • Convection Current Circulation System(CCCS) in stratified reservoir controls development of anaerobic condition and algal bloom during summer. In order to increase the CCCS effectiveness, we analyze diverse design parameters to make optimize the flow pattern in reservoir. In this study, we interpret the internal flow with installation and operation condition of CCCS based on CFD in reservoir. Design variables of CCCS is reservoir depth, stratification strength, distance of between CCCS and so on. Since reservoir depth and stratification strength in variables is depending on natural phenomenon, we evaluated current circulation effect by distance of CCCS and proposed the optimal design condition using CFD simulation. Flow and diffusion changes in water body was assessed by temperature and dye test. Changes in water floor temperature at 40m intervals was slowly descending over 37 hours. Dye diffusion simulation at 60m intervals, the radius of the spread between two devices were overlapped after 12 hours.

외부 환경 변화에 의한 비 접촉 체온계의 오차 범위 측정 (Investigation of Standard Error Range of Non-Contact Thermometer by Environment)

  • Purpose : A person infected by SARS-CoV2 may present various symptoms such as fever, pain in lower respiratory tract, and pneumonia. Measuring body temperature is a simple method to screen patients. However, changes in the surrounding environment may cause errors in infrared measurement. Hence, a non-contact thermometer controls this error by setting a correction value, but it is difficult to correct it for all environments. Therefore, we investigate device error values according to changes in the surrounding environment (temperature and humidity) and propose guidelines for reliable patient detection. Methods : For this study, the temperature was measured using three types of non-contact thermometers. For accurate temperature measurement, we used a water bath kept at a constant temperature. During temperature measurement, we ensured that the temperature and humidity were maintained using a thermo-hygrometer. The conditions of the surrounding environment were changed by an air conditioner, humidifier, warmer, and dehumidifier. Results : The temperature of the water bath was measured using a non-contact thermometer kept at various distances ranging from 3~10 cm. The value measured by the non-contact thermometer was then verified using a mercury thermometer, and the difference between the measured temperatures was compared. It was observed that at normal surrounding temperature (24 ℃), there was no difference between the values when the non-contact thermometer was kept at 3 cm. However, as the distance of the non-contact thermometer was increased from the water bath, the recorded temperature was significantly different compared with that of mercury thermometer. Moreover, temperature measurements were conducted at different surrounding temperatures and the results obtained significantly varied from when the thermometer was kept at 3 cm. Additionally, it was observed that the effect on temperature decreases with an increase in humidity Conclusion : In conclusion, non-contact thermometers are lower in lower temperature and dry weather in winter.
