The purpose of this study is to develop the auxiliary rehabilitation device for a patient of spinal curvature. The adolescent diopathic scoliosis(AIS) must be treated by rehabilitation brace if Cobb angle is $20^{\circ}{\sim}40^{\circ}$. The rehabilitation brace is consist of 4 vest and 2 hinge parts(hinge and couple bar) that give a force to the ribs. But thin and light hinge parts for young patient failed easily because of unusual movement of the upper body. We studied optimum design and structural analysis of hinge parts when it distorted by tensile and bending force. The specimen of hinge parts were tested to evaluate the failure strength. And we attached circuits with memory and sensor detecting pressure and displacement to recoding stress in hinge parts. These data are used to alarm the patient to stop unusual movement and understand the load history.

In human history, scarf has acted not only as a protection for body but also as a symbolization of class. Today, scarf has become a whole field in fashion and an important accessory to express individuality in fashion. Hence, like other fashion item, it is very important to develop exclusive design for scarf by analyzing the current fashion trend. In this research, we have designed a scarf textile, accordance with the contemporary design trend, applying the floral pattern, designed by William Morris who was an artist considered as the founder of the 1800s arts and crafts movement. We selected four trend themes, "Salon de Archives", "Eco Tech", "Profound Nature", and "Neo Aristo" for the design of 2007/2008 Fall/Winter. The flower motifs in Pimpernel Wallpaper, Honeysuckle textile design, Acanthus Wallpaper, Garden tulip wallpaper, Evenlode printed cotton, Trellis Wallpaper, and Chrysanthemum Wallpaper, by William Morris who expressed an image of environment friendly and nature reversion, applied to develop new creative scarf through design after modifying and rearranging these flower patterns. After the pattern was drawn by hand, adjusting of color and repeating of the design was done with DTP (Digital Textile Printing). Through this research, the researchers hopes to be of assistance to the development of national scarf brand design, and to the recapturing of textile industry that once played a important role in Koreans economic development.

Today, the convergence of fashion design and digital technology has become a popular method and accordingly been tried variously in the fashion area. This study aimed to analyze the character of the collaboration with fashion and technology, and the meaning of technology as emotional expression methods. Selected designer's collections, literature and other related studies were reviewed in order to analyze the generative structure of the meaning and the binary-opposition in the convergence of body, fashion design and technology. Literatures and selected designer's collections were reviewed and quantitatively studies were performed to classify the convergence of human bodies, fashion design and technology through Greimas Semiotics rectangle based on binary-opposition of meaning and isotophy analysis. The research presents three types of fashion technology methods: mechanical movement, light/digital media, and virtual image. The convergence of fashion and technology was classified as the direct convergence and the indirect convergence. The direct convergence was characterized by variability and has automatic, independent movement, but the indirect convergence was shown closed and to have contradistinctive images.

This study analyzed firefighter's actual wearing condition of turnout gear The results are as fellows: 1. When a firefighter is employed, Korea applies only the minimum of firefighters stature and weight but America applies both the minimum and the maximum. The choice of size is highly related with stature more than chest circumference. 2. The satisfaction degree of thermal barrier is very low, 3%. They used rubber gloves rather than heatproof gloves. This is more serious in small country like 'up', 'myun' than in cities. For laundering, they used sprinkling method with firefighting hose. Firefigthers hoped that their clothes could be classified tv the seasons and fire places. 3. frefighter had high unsatisfaction with the movement of hands and leges in the aspect of movement adjustability, air permeability, weight, body temperature regulation, and breathing in the hygenic aspect, fire resistance, thermal resistance property, water proof, chemical reactivity and electrical conductivity. Thev were also unsatisfied with water proof boots and gloves. They were generally satisfied with helmets but firefighters over 90kg of weight were rather unsatisfied. 4. The satisfaction degree for physical fitness was very low and the items with which they were not satisfied depend on physical features. 5. To develop turnout gear, they wanted changes in design, material and size. Reflection tape need to be replaced with high quality products and they wanted the use of velcro and zipper in fastening system.

A control of the body posture and movement is maintained by the vestibular system, vision, and proprioceptors. Especially, vestibular system has a very important function that controls the eye movement through vestibuloocular reflex and contraction of skeletal muscles through vestibulospinal reflex. However, postural disturbance caused by loss of vestibular function results in nausea, vomiting, vertigo and loss of craving for life. Lose of vestibular function leads to abnormal reflex of eye movements named nystagmus. Analysis of the nystagmus is needed to diagnose the vertigo, which is performed by means of electronystagmography (ENG). The purpose of this study is to develop a computerized system for data processing and an algorithm for the automatic evaluation of the slow component velocity (SCV) of nystagmus Induced by optokinetic(OKN) stimulation system. A new algorithm using recursive least square method (RLSM) to detect SCV of nystagmus is suggested in this paper. This method allows a fast and precise evaluation of the nystagmus, through artifact rejection techniques. The results are depicted in this paper.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of optic pathway on human body during Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation(PNF) treatment. Specifically, it's intened to find out through electromyography(EMG), what kind on change occurred in a patient's muscle when the patient saw the motor direction or when the patient didn't. A pilot experiment Was made over the sophomores of Mokpo Science College the following findings were given; As an EMG was taken over three of muscles that worked during Flexion-Adduction-Ext. Rot., one of the PNF pattern, a patient showed relatively stronger muscle power while watching the movement with his eyes open than the same patient did with his eyes closed, and the disparity between the two cases Was statistically significant(P<0.05). In the pattern of Extension-Abduction-Int.Rot., a patient also showed relatively stronger muscle power while watching the movement than the same patient did without watching it, and the disparity between the two cases also were significant(P<0.05). As seen above, the effect of motor treatment, among physiotherapy methods seemed to be greater if a patient watched the motor direction during treatment, because it gave a stimulus to proprioception.

Originating in South Korea, Taekwondo has been globally popular among individuals who desire to improve their health in a unique fashion. The Taekwondo uniform, one of the essential factors within the sport, needs to possess both functionality and size suitability to support dynamic movements within Taekwondo. This study investigated the development of patterns in Taekwondo uniforms by suggesting patterns that reflect physical suitability derived from appearance tests and movement functionality tests of the uniforms. More specifically, we selected a sample uniform and conducted a dressing test, which considered both the aesthetics and the functionality of the garment. Then, we considered size suitability, which allowed us to design practical Taekwondo uniform patterns that encompassed more variation in body sizes of both men and women. The result of the dressing test was that women's uniforms typically required more factors compared to men's uniforms due to women's relatively smaller physiques. Based on this result, we revised the pattern to also encompass the minor differences in uniforms between men and women. In the end, the Taekwondo uniforms for women required more modifications than those for men.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of watsu therapy on muscle tone in adult hemiparesis patient after stroke. The subject was a 66 year old patient with left hemiparesis whose self gait was independent with minimal assist. The subject was ambulatory with some degree of limitation and demonstrated a little tremor and asymmetry in the body. A multiple treatment design(A-B-C-B) for a single-subject research was used for this study. The watsu therapy consisted of basic moves, head cradle, underfar leg, near leg cradle in watsu I (transition flow), for 25 minutes, which lasted 12 sessions for a total 21 sessions. A baseline was conducted for a first time and a general ROM exercise was conducted after the first watsu therapy. Tone assessment scale was tested : 1. posturing at rest 2. response to passive movement 3. associated reaction Comparing to the baseline and general ROM exercise, The results showed that the watsu therapy had some positive effects on improvement of three tests and there was a more positive effects of both response to passive movement and associated reaction.

To perceive body movement, the nervous system uses multi-sensory cues such as vision, vestibular signals, and somatosensation. Among the multi-sensory modality, the previous researchers reported that the lower limb somatosensation plays an important role on maintaining postural balance. In this study, we examined the contribution of somatosensory cues to linear motion perception by measuring the detection threshold of the direction of linear motion with and without lower limb somatosensory constraints. Six healthy male volunteers participated in randomly ordered 33 single sinusoidal acceleration trials with the stimulus at 0.25Hz with peak magnitude ranged from 0 to 8mG. After each stimulus, subjects reported their perceived direction of motion by button press. Results showed that the reduced lower limb somatosensation significantly increased perception threshold. Without constraints, mean threshold was $0.82{\pm}0.23mG$, while it was $1.23{\pm}0.35mG$ with reduced lower limb somatosensation. The results suggest that without visual cues, perception of the movement direction strongly depends on the lower limb somatosensory information.

The cause of hiccup are stomach cold, rising of stomach fire, stagnation of vital energy and stagnationof phlegm, yang deficiency of spleen and kideny, deficiency of stomach-yin, or mental disorder due to the stagnation of phlegm, dyspepsia, depressed vital energy. 3. Vicera and Bowels related with Hiccup are lung, spleen, stomach, and heart. 4. The treatment of hiccup are dispel cold by warming the middle warmer due to stomach cold, expel the heat-evil to loose hollow-organ due to rising up of stomach yin, regulate vital energy and dissipate phlegm due to stagnation of vital energy and stagnation of phlegm, warm and recuperate both of spleen and kidney due to spleen and kidney yang deficiency, nourish the stomach to promote the production of body fluid due to deficiency of stomach yin. 5. Regarding neuropsychiatric aspect of hiccup, qi movement disorder was the main mechanism of disease and qi depression was the main cause. The prescriptions for neuropsychiatric hiccup were Mokhwangjogisan Pyunjakjunghyangsan, Daegwakhyangsan, and Haeaedan.
