Nasucon lamp and Russian ones, which are coated with some special materials on the glass bulb, gave good clinical results for a cancer therapy. They are experimentally studied with Automatic Bioelectric Response Recorder on the six placements of the electrodes (two feet, two hands and two foreheads). They reduced the current rather than the control (natural) state. However infrared lamp and Chinese God light did not reduced the value current. Hemoglobin in blood. Brown gas, Ti$_3$SiC$_2$ and Nasucon have planar crystallizing $\pi$-bonding bonding layer and covalent bonding one in sequence commonly and thus the alternating magnetic fields are protected. Nasucon lamp and Russian ones utilized electric bulbs in order to generate alternating magnetic fields and to produce absorbing force.

HRccine was administered subcutaneously to rats for 4 weeks at dose levels of 300, 60 and 12 times the expected clinical dose to evaluate the subacute toxicity. There were no treatment-related effects in clinical signs, body weight changes, food consumption, water consumption, urinalysis and blood biochemistry in any dose groups. In hematological examinations, increase of leucocyte counts and decrease of hemoglobin concentration were observed in the high dose-treated group. However, no treatment-attributable pathological changes were observed in microscopic examinations. The no-effect dose in subacute toxicity study of rats was considered to be 300 times the expected clinical dose.

Nineteen patients with various types of cyanotic congenital heart disease underwent systemic-pulmonary artery shunts with a microporous polytetrafluoroethylene [PTFE] graft between September, 1983, and April, 1985. Age ranged from 3 months to 18 years, and seven of them were less than 12 months old. There were seventeen Great Ormond Street type of modified Blalock-Taussig shunts, and two central polytetrafluoroethylene shunt [ascending aorta-right pulmonary artery]. There was one postoperative death [1/19=5.3%] in a 10 Kg child born with pulmonary atresia and ventricular septal defect associated with patent ductus arteriosus. He had another anomaly of imperforated anus. Relief from cyanosis was achieved in other eighteen patients with variable degree. Eighteen survivors have been followed up from 1 month to 19 months. Clinical status, auscultation, oxygen partial pressure of arterial blood, and hemoglobin have been used to establish shunt patency in all survivors. By above criteria, all survivors have good patent shunt.

A pulsed ultrasonic doppler flowmeter for mesurements of velocity profils in man is described. The device projects a beam of ultrasound in burst of 570 ns duration at 3.5 MHz. The back-scattered signals are processed to produce a signal oxrresponding to the mean velocity over a small region of the flowing stream. The observation range of 112mm is divided into 128 depth channels. The size of this sample volume determines the flowmeter sensitivity and accuracy. The device uses a quadrature detector to detect the direction of the moving target(hemoglobin). The main feature of the novel instrumnet is its simple hardware structure due to sequential signal processing.

Objectives: This study describes how two patients diagnosed with type-II diabetes mellitus were successfully treated using herbal medicine. Methods: The patients were given Yuldahanso-tang to reduce the effects of Taeumin's dry-febrile symptom. Results: Type-II diabetes mellitus symptoms experienced by patients with Taeumin's dry-febrile symptom included thirst, fatigue, weight loss, and numbness in the hands and feet. After administering Yuldahanso-tang, all numerical levels for blood sugar, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), glycosuria, and proteinuria recovered to within normal levels. Conclusions: Treatment of patients with Taeumin's dry-febrile symptom and type-II diabetes mellitus with Yuldahanso-tang was effective, and this new evidence supports the use of herbal medicine for treating such patients.

Ginseng components were examined for their ability to modify immunotoxicity of cyclophosphamide. Ginseng polysaccharide fraction (FO, 300 mg/kg) inhibited decreases in the ratio of spleen to body weight, white blood cells (WBC) count and the number of plaque forming cells (PFC) induced by cyclophosphamide (50 mg/kg, i.p.), and increased these variables in normal mice. Ginseng saponin fraction (50 mg/kg) showed to increase hemoglobin content as well as the number of PFC/spleen in normal mice. on the other hand, Panaxytriol (20 mg/kg) Prevented decrease in mc count by cyclophos phamide. Neither saponin fraction nor panaxytriol had any significant effect on the number of PFC and antibody titers in cyclophosphamide-treated mice. These results suggest that ginseng polysaccharine fraction may reduce the immunotoxicity of cyclophosphamide and may be effective in stimulating immune function in normal mice.

An abattoir survey was carried out on 300 Korean native cattles reared and slaughtered in North Kyeongnam area to determine the prevalence of Fasciola hepatica infections. The average prevalence of fascioliasis was 46.4% ; the infection rate had a tendency to increase with age. Some hematological and biochemical indices were assayed in Korean native cattle naturally harbouring Fasciola hepatica infection and compared with uninfection control. Affected animal revealed reduction total erythrocyte count and hemoglobin, which was consistent in total leucocyte count and packed cell volume. Infected cattle had lower level of serum total protein and albumin, was consistent serum calcium and glucose indices, had higher levels of SGOT, SGPT and cholesterol indices.

Hematologic values were determined in blood samples obtained from 203 normal, healthy Jindo dogs of both sexes that ranged in age from 3 months to 10 years. Age-related differences were detected for the total erythrocyte count, hemoglobin content, PCV and the number of eosinophils. The persistent eosinophilia appears to be due to the dirofilariasis and flea-allergy dermatitis.

This study was undertaken to investigate effects of alcohol and dietary protein levels on serum lipids and enzyme activities in 15 week-old male rats given a normal diet. Rats were divided into 8 groups : control group (16% protein 16PC) and 8%(8PE) 16%(16PE) and 24% protein groups(24PE) to which was given 5% ethanol mixed into their drinking water after 4 weeks and 10 weeks. Body weight organ weight and various blood components were determined at 4 and 10 weeks. Body weight gain organ weight hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value were not influenced by ethanol and dietary protein levels. The levels of total cholesterol HDL-cholesterol and phospholipid in serum were not affected by ethanol consumption. Serum triglyceride concen-trations after 10 weeks were significnatly increased ethanol-treated group compared with that of control group and the effect was greater in low protein group than control group. Serum ALP activity was significantly higher in 8PE group than other group but there was no influence by ethanol consumption.

We have investigated fs-laser ablation as well as optoperforation threshold of PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) thin lid cover on ${\mu}$-channel with changing the flow medium from water to hemoglobin. The ablation threshold is found to be independent of both PDMS thin film thickness and flow medium, but the optoperforation threshold is dependent on the films thickness. The observation that the ablation process is well described with simple two-temperature model supposed that the cover lid PDMS of $\mu$-channel be processed with minimized thermal effects by fs-laser with low laser fluence.
