Numerical Simulation and Laboratory Test Analysis of Air Sparging for TCE Remediation

  • Trichloroethylene, which is one of the representative DNAPL, has been found in underground water sources as a result of the manufactural use, and disposal of the chemical. In this research, in situ air sparging method was chosen to reduce the TCE concentration from the source zone. The concentration reduction in the source zone resulting from air sparging is simulated using the modified STOMP Water-Air operational mode in a two dimensional axisymmetric domain and bench scale test is conducted to analyze the performance of air sparging. The results of laboratory tests are compared with numerical simulations.

  • Oxygen sensors taken from the aftertreatment systems of 4 vehicles which had been aged in domestic filed were examined for aging pattern using a idle engine bench. The sensors were then cut into each layers along their components and characterized for poisoning, surface area and morphology. This study shows that amplitude and mean value of aged sensors are seriously affected by high temperature and oil components of exhaust gas.

  • This study was made to change dimension of self-curing resin by various curing technics. Specimens were fabricated 45 by 7 curing method. Six measurements(distances AB,BC,CD, AD, AC, and BD) were made of mold section and recorded with micrometer(1/20 mm). The results of the experiment were as follows : 1. The air pressure cured specimens exhibited more distoration than the bench-cured, watercured, and monomer atmosphere-cured specimens(P < 0.05). 2. The water pressure cured specimens exhibited more distoration sphere-cured specimens (P < 0.(15).

  • As the demand for high frequency(bandwidth) optical module is increased, there is a need for fabricating silicon optical bench(SiOB) with low parasitic impedance. In this paper, we discuss multi-layer structure method for manufacturing SiOB with low capacitance. This structure method decreases the capacitance between the conductive patterns for about 94∼97% compared to the conventional structure without raising the resistivity of silicon, or increasing the thickness of the dielectric film.

  • This paper proposed an optimal register resource allocation algorithm using graph coloring for minimal register at high level synthesis. The proposed algorithm constructed interference graph consist of the intermediated representation CFG to description VHDL. and at interference graph fur the minimal select color selected a position node at stack, the next inserted spill code and the graph coloring process executes for optimal register allocation. The proposed algorithm proves to effect that result compare another allocation techniques through experiments of bench mark.

  • In this paper, we introduce the micro robot soccer playing system as a standard test bench for the study on the multiple agent system. Our method is based on following viewpoints. They are (1) any complex behavior such as cooperation among agents must be completed by sequential basic actions of concerned agents. (2) those basic actions can be well defined, but (3) how to organize those actions in current time point so as to result in a new stale beneficial to the end aim ought to be achieved by a kind of self-learning self-organization strategy.
