Carrageenan으로 유도된 염증성 근통증 흰쥐 모델에서 경피신경전기자극과 냉치료에 의한 비복근의 cyclooxygenase-2의 감소 (Reduction of muscle cyclooxygenase-2 with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and cold therapy in rats of carrageenan-induced inflammatory muscle pain)

  • Prostaglandins are generated through two isoforms of the enzyme cyclooxygenase, constitutively expressed cyclooxygenase(COX)-1 and COX-2, which is induced at sites of inflammation. Inhibition of COX-2 is desirable as this may avoid side effects seen with NSAIDs. We examined the effects of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and cold therapy on the levels of muscle cycloooxygenase-2 mRNA in rats of carrageenan-induced inflammatory. The method of behavioral assessment were paw withdrawal latency(PWL) and tail flick test(TFT). The COX-2 mRNA levels were quantified by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Following the transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and cold therapy, PWL and TFT were increased and COX-2 mRNA expression in gastrocnemius muscles were decreased. These results suggest that a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation and cold therapy were good therapy for a muscle pain.

백서에서 서로 다른 경혈의 침 자극에 의한 통증의 억제 효과 (Pain-relieving effects of acupuncture at different acupoints in rats)

  • To clarify the distinction between three difference acupoints, the effects of acupuncture on a behavioral performance were evaluated following formalin test. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were used. Each rat received a manual acupuncture at ST36 (zusanli), SP9 (yinlingquan) or BL60 (kunlun) acupoint before formalin injection. The flinching and licking responses were counted by two blinder investigators. The pretreatment of BL60 acupoint was showed significantly inhibition in flinch behavior as compared with control group. These results suggest that acupuncture at BL60 acupuncture may be effective in relieving inflammatory pain.

과학학습 행동억제체계 및 행동활성화체계와 자기효능감과의 상관관계 분석 (Correlation of Behavioral Inhibition/Activation System about Science Learning to Self-efficacy)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 과학학습 동기체계를 알아보기 위한 SL-BIS/BAS와 자기효능감의 관계를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학교 4학년 496명, 중학교 2학년 425명이 과학학습 행동억제/활성화체계 검사 도구(SL-BIS/BAS)와 자기효능감 검사지를 수행하였으며, 회수된 검사지를 바탕으로 집단별 과학학습 행동억제/활성화체계를 파악하고 두 체계와 자기효능감과의 관계를 분석하였다. 이 연구에서 밝혀진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 과학학습 행동억제체계에 대한 민감성은 4학년보다 8학년이 더 높았으나 과학학습 행동활성화체계에 대한 민감성과 자기효능감은 8학년보다 4학년이 더 높았다. 둘째, 자기효능감은 과학학습 행동억제체계와 낮은 부적상관이 있으며, 과학학습 행동활성화 체계와 정적상관이 있었다. 또한 자기효능감에 대한 두 체계의 설명력은 41%로 나타나, 자기효능감과 밀접한 관련이 있음을 알 수 있다. 이 연구에서 과학학습 행동억제/활성화체계의 분석을 통해 학습자 변인에 따른 동기의 차이, 그리고 동기와 관련변인의 관계를 확인할 수 있었다. 이로써 동기와 관련변인을 근본적으로 이해하여, 학습자에게 적합한 지도 계획을 세우기 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

부적응 도식과 결혼 만족도 간의 관계: 적응적 정서조절방략의 조절 효과 (The Relationship between Maladjustment Schema and Marital Satisfaction: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Adaptive Emotion Regulation Strategy)

  • 본 연구는 부적응 도식과 결혼만족도의 관계에서 인지적 정서조절방략, 행동적 정서조절방략, 그리고 체험적 정서조절방략 각각의 조절효과를 검증해 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 기혼 남성 102명, 여성 131명으로 모두 233명이며, 부적응 도식 질문지, 정서조절방략 질문지(Emotion Regulation Strategy Questionnaire: ERSQ), 결혼만족도 척도를 사용하여 설문을 실시하였다. 또한, 부적응 도식과 결혼만족도 간의 관계에서 인지적, 행동적, 체험적 정서조절방략의 조절 효과를 확인하기 위해서 위계적 중다 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 부적응 도식과 결혼만족도 간 관계에서 적응적 정서조절방략(인지적, 행동적, 체험적)의 조절 효과가 유의미하게 나타났다. 각 부적응 도식 영역마다 이 3가지의 정서조절방략의 효과가 달리 나타났는데, 먼저 손상된 자율성과 타인 중심성의 부적응 도식 영역은 인지적, 행동적, 체험적 3가지 방략 모두에서 조절 효과를 보여, 이 3가지 방략들을 사용할수록 더 높은 결혼만족도를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 단절 및 거절의 부적응 도식 영역을 지닌 개인의 경우 인지적, 행동적 방략을 사용할수록, 과잉 경계 및 억제의 부적응 도식 영역을 지닌 개인은 인지적, 체험적 방략을 사용할수록 높은 결혼만족도를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 게다가 손상된 한계의 부적응 도식 영역을 지닌 개인은 체험적 방략을 사용할 경우에만 높은 결혼만족도를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 임상적 함의와 한계 및 후속연구에서의 제안을 논의하였다.

초, 중, 고 학생들의 과학학습 행동억제체계 및 행동활성화체계와 과학흥미도 조사 및 상관관계 분석 (An Investigation of SL-BIS/BAS and the Interest in Science among Elementary, Middle & High school Students and an Analysis of the Correlation between them)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate a motivation system about science learning and interest in science among elementary, middle & high school students and analyze on the their relations. For this, the questionnaires on interest in science that developed by Kind et al., (2007) were selected and translated. After that, second-grade 80 students, fourth-grade 87 students, sixth-grade 107 students, eighth-grade 123 students and eleventh-grade 128 students were required to accomplish a questionnaire on behavioral inhibition system/behavioral activation system about science learning (SL-BIS/BAS), interest in science. Based on these materials, SL-BIS/BAS by student's variables and relations of between the system to interest in science have been analyzed. The result of this study shows the followings. First, the sensitivity about SL-BIS was no significant difference in School levels. But sensitivity about SL-BAS and interest in science in elementary and high school was higher than it in middle school. Second, there were low negative correlation with SL-BIS and interest in science, and relatively high positive correlation with SL-BAS and interest in science. Through the results of this study, relations of motivation to related variables, and the motivation by student's variables are identified. These results would be helpful for teachers to understand the difference about motivation by students' variables and to make a plan for the appropriate strategies for learners.

Parathion에 노출된 붕어(Carassius auratus)의 Acetylcholinesterase 억제와 행동변화 (Acetylcholinesterase Inhibition and Behavioral Changes of Crucian carp (Carassius auratus) Exposed to the Waterborne Parathion)

  • 파라치온에 노출된 붕어의 뇌, 안구, 근육 및 혈청의 AChE 활성 변화를 조사한 결과 파라치온 $63{\mu}g/L$ 농도 이상에서 유의하게 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 실험종료 시 AChE 활성은 뇌에서 79.1~92.4%, 안구에서 76.0~91.5%, 근육에서 89.7~97.6% 및 혈청에서 68.9~78.0% 감소하였다. 실험기간동안 유의한 생존율 변화는 관찰되지 않았으나, 유영이상 및 경련을 보였다. 또한 파라치온에 노출된 붕어의 형태변화는 척추측만(scoliosis)이 관찰되었는데 이러한 변화는 파라치온 $190{\mu}g/L$ 농도는 15%, $380{\mu}g/L$에서는 75%로 관찰되었다. 따라서 붕어의 AChE 활성과 그 밖의 행동 및 형태적 특성은 자연수계에서 파라치온 오염을 추정할 수 있는 생물학적 모니터닝 도구로 활용할 수 있다.

Protective Effects of Ginsenoside Rg3 against Cholesterol Oxide-Induced Neurotoxicity in the Rat

  • Ginsenosides are among the most well-known traditional herbal medicines frequently used for the treatment of various symptoms in South Korea. The neuroprotective effects of ginsenoside $Rg_3$ (G-$Rg_3$) on cholesterol-oxide-(CO)-induced neurotoxicity were investigated through the analyses of rat brains. The recently accumulated reports show that ginseng saponins (GTS), the major active ingredients of Panax ginseng, have protective effects against neurotoxin insults. In the present study, the neuroprotective effects of G-$Rg_3$ on CO-induced hippocampal excitotoxicity were examined in vivo. The in-vitro studies using rat cultured hippocampal neurons revealed that G-$Rg_3$ treatment significantly inhibited CO-induced hippocampal cell death. G-$Rg_3$ treatment not only significantly reduced CO-induced DNA damage but also attenuated CO-induced apoptosis. The in-vivo studies that were conducted revealed that the intracerebroventricular (i.c.v.) pre-administration of G-$Rg_3$ significantly reduced i.c.v. CO-induced hippocampal damage in rats. To examine the mechanisms underlying the in-vitro and in-vivo neuroprotective effects of G-$Rg_3$ against CO-induced hippocampal excitotoxicity, the effect of G-$Rg_3$ on the CO-induced elevations of the apoptotic cells in cultured hippocampal cells was examined, and it was found that G-$Rg_3$ treatment inhibited CO-induced apoptosis. The histopathological evaluation demonstrated that G-$Rg_3$ significantly diminished the apoptosis in the hippocampus and also spared the hippocampal CA1, CA3, and dentate gyrus neurons. G-$Rg_3$ also significantly improved the CO-caused behavioral impairment. G-$Rg_3$ itself had no effect, however, on the CO-induced inhibition of succinate dehydrogenase activity (data not shown). These results collectively indicate the G-$Rg_3$-induced neuroprotection against CO in rat hippocampus. With regard to the wide use of G-$Rg_3$, this agent is potentially beneficial in treating CO-induced brain injury.

Effects of Intraperitoneal N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) Administration on Nociceptive/Repetitive Behaviors in Juvenile Mice

  • Dysregulation of excitatory neurotransmission has been implicated in the pathogenesis of neuropsychiatric disorders. Pharmacological inhibition of N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptors is widely used to model neurobehavioral pathologies and underlying mechanisms. There is ample evidence that overstimulation of NMDA-dependent neurotransmission may induce neurobehavioral abnormalities, such as repetitive behaviors and hypersensitization to nociception and cognitive disruption, pharmacological modeling using NMDA has been limited due to the induction of neurotoxicity and blood brain barrier breakdown, especially in young animals. In this study, we examined the effects of intraperitoneal NMDA-administration on nociceptive and repetitive behaviors in ICR mice. Intraperitoneal injection of NMDA induced repetitive grooming and tail biting/licking behaviors in a dose- and age-dependent manner. Nociceptive and repetitive behaviors were more prominent in juvenile mice than adult mice. We did not observe extensive blood brain barrier breakdown or neuronal cell death after peritoneal injection of NMDA, indicating limited neurotoxic effects despite a significant increase in NMDA concentration in the cerebrospinal fluid. These findings suggest that the observed behavioral changes were not mediated by general NMDA toxicity. In the hot plate test, we found that the latency of paw licking and jumping decreased in the NMDA-exposed mice especially in the 75 mg/kg group, suggesting increased nociceptive sensitivity in NMDA-treated animals. Repetitive behaviors and increased pain sensitivity are often comorbid in psychiatric disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorder). Therefore, the behavioral characteristics of intraperitoneal NMDA-administered mice described herein may be valuable for studying the mechanisms underlying relevant disorders and screening candidate therapeutic molecules.

봉약침액(蜂藥鍼液)이 Scopolamine으로 유발(誘發)된 기억(記憶) 장애(障碍)에 미치는 영향(影響) (The Effect of Bee Venom on Scopolamine Induced Memorial Impairment)

  • Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most prevalent form of neurodegenerative disease associated with aging in the human population. This disease is characterized by the following 4 structural changes : Atrophy of the Cortex, Parasympathetic, and other neural cells, the existence of Neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs), and the accumulation of Senile plaques. NFTs and Senile plaques is known to be the index of this disease. Senile plaques disturbs the neutro transmission and depletes of Acetylcholine. So, Recovery of Acetylcholine is the primal objective for treating Alzheimer's disease. So, Inhibiting the activity of Acetylcholine Esterase (AChE), which causes the hydrolysus of acetylcholine into choline and acetate, can be seen as a key role for treating Alzheimer's disease. Increasing body of evidence has been demonstrated that Bee Venom Acupuncture (BV) could compete with complex protein involving in multiple step of $NF-_{\kappa}B$ activation and exert the anti -inflammatory potential of combined inhibition of the prostanoid and nitric oxide synthesis systems by inhibition of IKK and $NF-_{\kappa}B$. The effect of BV through behavioral tests after memory impairment induced by Scopolamine. We examined the improving effect of BV on the Scopolamine (1 mg/Kg, i.p.)-induced memorial impairment using passive avoidance response and water maze tests in the mice. BV (0.84, $1.67\;{\mu}g/ml$) reversed the Scopolamine-induced memorial impairment in dose dependent manner. This study therefore suggests that BV acupuncture method may be useful for prevention of development or progression of AD.

의사의 환자중심 커뮤니케이션이 환자참여에 미치는 영향 : 신뢰의 조절효과를 중심으로 (Effect of Patient-centered Communication of Doctor on Patient Participation : Focusing on Moderating Effect of Trust)

  • 본 연구는 의사의 환자중심 커뮤니케이션(촉진요인, 금지요인)이 환자 참여(행동적 참여, 감정적 참여, 정보적 참여)에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위한 것이다. 구체적인 연구목적으로는 첫째, 환자중심 커뮤니케이션이 환자참여에 미치는 영향, 둘째, 환자중심의 커뮤니케이션과 환자참여간의 관계에서 신뢰의 조절효과 확인이며, 이를 위하여 국내 종합병원의 환자 301명을 대상으로 SPSS 19.0을 통계패키지를 사용하여 요인분석과 조절회귀분석을 수행하였다. 연구결과, 커뮤니케이션 촉진요인은 행동적 참여, 감정적 참여, 정보적 참여 모두에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으나, 금지요인은 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 신뢰의 조절효과는 촉진요인과 감정적 참여간, 촉진요인과 정보적 참여간에서 발견되었으며, 신뢰의 수준이 높은 집단에서 촉진요인은 감정적 참여와 정보적 참여에 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 환자중심의 커뮤니케이션과 성공적인 의료서비스 제공에 필요한 이론적이고 실무적인 시사점을 제공하였다.
