How Residential Mobility Influences Material and Experiential Purchases

  • With the increased mobility within nations, relocation has become a frequent and regular occurrence in modern life. However, we know little about how residential mobility affects purchase type. How does residential mobility affect our purchase behavior? This research explores the relationship between residential mobility and preference of purchase type, with psychological processes. The study primed participants with either a high or low mobility mindset to investigate the effect of mobility on consumption style in U.S. and South Korean. The results of the study confirm that the consideration of residential mobility shifts consumers' preferences toward material goods and experiences. In addition, results also indicate that the connection between mobility and purchase type was mediated by autonomy and moderated by cultural factor. Lastly, the theoretical and practical implications are covered.

판례를 이용한 환자안전관련 간호과오 예방교육이 간호사의 안전지각, 안전통제감, 자율성 및 책임수용성에 미치는 효과 (Effects of an Education Program on Prevention of Malpractice using Precedent Cases related to Patient Safety in Safety Perception, Safety Control, Autonomy and Accountability in Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of an education program on safety perception, safety control, autonomy and accountability in clinical nurses. Precedent cases related to patient safety were used in the education program. Methods: A quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest measures was used. Participants in the study, 72 nurses in the experimental group, 71 nurses in the control group, were enrolled for 3 months. The education program was composed of the 20 precedent cases related to patient safety from home and foreign countries. Results: The major findings of this study were as follows: Safety perception (p=.000), Safety control (p=.000), attitude toward autonomy (p=.000), and attitude toward accountability (p=.000) improved after the education program. Conclusion: The findings from this study indicate that an education program using precedent cases is an efficient method to improve behavior and change attitudes towards protecting patients' safety and preventing malpractice claims against nurses.

자기결정성이론에 근거한 신장이식환자의 자가간호행위 구조모형 (Structural Equation Modeling of Self-Care Behaviors in Kidney Transplant Patients Based on Self-Determination Theory)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test a hypothesis explaining direct and indirect relationships among the factors affecting self-care behaviors of kidney transplant patients, based on self-determination theory. Methods: Data were collected from 222 outpatients with kidney transplantation. The endogenous and exogenous variables of the hypothetical model consisted of healthcare provider's autonomy support, duration after kidney transplantation, basic psychological need satisfaction, autonomous and controlled motivation, depression, and self-care behaviors. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 24.0 and AMOS 24.0. Results: The hypothetical model demonstrated a good fit: RMSEA=.06, SRMR=.04, TLI=.94, CFI=.97. Statistically significant explanatory variables for the self-care behaviors of kidney transplant patients were duration after transplantation and basic psychological need satisfaction. Healthcare provider's autonomy support was indirectly significant, while autonomous motivation, controlled motivation and depression were not statistically significant for self-care behaviors. The variables accounted for 59.5% of the self-care behaviors of kidney transplant patients. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop an autonomy support program for healthcare providers to enhance the self-care behaviors of kidney transplant patients. Preventing the deterioration of self-care behaviors will be possible by conducting this program at one year and six years post-transplantation. In addition, the results suggest the need to developing personalized autonomy support programs for healthcare providers that can meet the basic psychological need satisfaction of kidney transplant patients.

중소벤처기업 스마트워크 특성이 조직혁신성에 미치는 영향: 디지털 리터러시와 세대 간 조절효과 (A Study on the Effects of Smart Work Characteristics of Small and Medium Venture Businesses on Organizational Innovation : Digital Literacy and Intergenerational Moderation Effect)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 중소벤처기업 구성원을 대상으로 스마트워크 특성요인 중 지식공유행동, 자기효능감, 팀 협업, 직무자율성이 조직혁신성에 미치는 영향과 세대별/디지털 리터러시 수준에 따른 차이를 연구하고, 중소벤처기업의 조직혁신에 반영할 수 있도록 시사점을 제공하기 위함이다. 분석결과 지식공유행동과 팀 협업은 조직혁신성에 영향을 미치고 있고, 자기효능감, 직무자율성은 조직혁신성에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 조절효과로, 디지털 리터러시 수준에 따라 자기효능감과 팀 협업에서 차이를 보였고, 세대별로는 지식공유행동과 자기효능감, 팀 협업에서 차이가 있는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 중소벤처기업의 스마트워크 환경 변화에 따른 조직혁신성의 중요한 영향 요인을 확인하여, 기업경쟁력을 확보할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였으며, 세대별/디지털 리터러시 수준의 차이에 따른 스마트워크 특성과 조직혁신성의 관계를 확인하고, 이를 통해 차별적인 역량개발과 활용방안을 강구하여야 조직혁신이 강화될 수 있다는 시사점을 제시하고 있다.

아버지와 어머니의 양육행동이 청소년의 자율학업동기에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Paternal and Maternal Behavior on Adolescents' Autonomous Academic Motivation)

  • The purpose of the present research was to explore the effect of paternal and maternal behavior on adolescents' autonomous academic motivation. The subject of the study were 532 middle school student in grades 1-2. The results of the study were as follows: 1. Autonomous academic motivation was higher among 1st graders than 2nd graders. 2. Factors that affected adolescents' autonomous academic motivation differed depending on sex and grade. The boys' and girls' autonomous academic motivation was affected by father's academic-expectation, mother's attachment and guidance, and frequency of mother's academic-involvement, but father's academic-pressure affected only girls' autonomous academic motitation. First and 2nd graders' autonomous academic motivation was commonly affected by father's academic-expectation. However, for older adolescents, the demand for autonomy-encouragement of the mother is greater than that for direct involvement.

중소기업 구성원의 임파워먼트와 혁신행동의 관계 및 심리적 주인의식의 조절효과 (The Relationship Between Empowerment and Innovative Behavior, and the Moderating Effect of Psychological Ownership in Small Musiness)

  • 중소기업의 경우 자본부족과 전문인력 부족의 문제로 획기적인 혁신을 추진하기 어렵다. 따라서 전문인력에 의존하는 급진적 혁신이나 획기적 혁신보다는 담당업무의 개선이나 비용절감을 추구하는 점진적 혁신행동을 추구하는 것이 바람직하다. 이러한 혁신행동은 종업원의 업무에 대해 적극적 관심과 개선을 위한 자발적 노력이 없으면 이루어지기 어렵다. 따라서 종업원들의 임파워먼트는 혁신행동을 촉진하는 동력이 될 수 있다. 또한 혁신행동과 같은 적극적 행동은 조직이나 직무에 대한 심리적 주인의식이 있을 때 더욱 적극적일 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 임파워먼트와 혁신행동의 관계와 그러한 관계에서 심리적 주인의식의 조절효과를 실증분석하고자 하였다. 실증분석을 위한 자료수집은 강원 영서지역에 입지한 중소제조업체 종사자 315명으로부터 회수한 설문을 이용하였다. 임파워먼트가 혁신행동에 미치는 효과 및 조직에 대한 심리적 주인의식과 직무에 대한 심리적 주인의식의 조절효과를 분석한 결과, 임파워먼트의 구성요소인 의미감, 자율성, 자기효능감, 영향력은 모두 구성원의 혁신행동에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 임파워먼트(의미감, 자율성, 자기효능감, 영향력)와 혁신행동(아이디어개발, 아이디어실행)의 관계에서 심리적 주인의식(조직에 대한 심리적 주인의식, 직무에 대한 심리적 주인의식)의 조절효과에 대한 분석결과 의미감이 아이디어개발과 실행 에 미치는 긍정적 효과는 직무에 대한 심리적 주인의식이 높을수록 강하게 나타났다. 그리고 영향력과 아이디어실행의 긍정적 관계도 더욱 강하게 나타났다. 따라서 종업원들의 아이디어개발이나 실행과 같은 혁신행동을 제고함에는 의미감, 자율성, 자기효능감, 영향력과 같은 임파워먼트를 인지시키는 것이 효과적이며, 특히 직무에 대한 심리적 주인의식을 고취시키는 것이 바람직하다고 볼 수 있다. 이를 위해서 경영자의 변혁적 리더십을 통하여 종업원의 자기효능감을 제고하고, 직무에 정체성, 중요성, 자율성, 다양성 등을 부여하는 직무재설계를 통한 영향력이나 과업의미감 제고가 바람직할 것이다.

게임 전환 비용의 결정 요인: 모바일 게임 사용자의 기본적 심리 욕구 충족 차이를 중심으로 (Determinants of perceptual switching costs for digital game: focused on the different effects of basic psychological needs satisfaction)

  • 게이머들은 현재 게임이 재미에 싫증을 느끼거나 더 재미있는 새로운 게임을 만나면 이로 전환한다. 소비자의 게임 전환 비용은 개인에 따라 다양하며 자신들의 현재 게임에 대해 만족하는 정도에 영향을 받는다. 이 연구는 현재 게임에 대한 만족 정도를 자기 결정 이론에서의 세 가지 차원의 욕구 충족 정도로 측정하며 이들이 각각 학습(learning), 연속(continuity), 그리고 매몰(sunk) 전환 비용에 어떻게 영향을 미치는 지를 분석한다. 국내 모바일 게임 사용자를 대상으로 한 설문 조사의 분석 결과, 게임 이용자들의 자율성과 관계성 충족은 학습 비용에 양의 영향을 미치고 효능성 충족은 음의 영향을 미친다. 이러한 욕구 충족과 인지적 전환 비용의 관계는 게이머의 연령과 선호하는 게임 장르에 따라서 달리 나타나며 이러한 결과를 이용함으로써 게이머들의 다양한 전환 행동을 이해할 수 있다.

사무직 공무원들의 피로수준 및 관련요인 (Fatigue Symptoms and Its Related Factors among Clerical Public Officers)

  • Objectives: The administrative employees of government were analyzed on their levels of fatigue symptoms to reveal the various factors related to them. Methods: The self-administered questionnaires were performed, during the period between Dec. 5th, 2005 and Jan. 31st, 2006, to 1,005 individuals in the service of general administration located in Daejeon Metropolitan City. The survey items included subjects' socio-demographic and job-related characteristics, health-related behavior, degree of job demand, job autonomy, social support in work, type A behavior pattern, locus of control, sense of self-esteem, and degree of fatigue. The study results were analyzed and the authors came to the following major findings, by univariate and multiple regression analysis with degree of fatigue dependent variables and other variables independent. Results and Conclusions: The study results indicated that the level of fatigue symptoms is so complicatedly influenced by variable factors as well as job-related characteristics such as socio-demographic characteristics, rank in work, or job career, to a greater extent, by job specifications and personality traits(type A) like whether performing health-related behavior or not, job demand, job autonomy, social support in work, or sense of self-esteem. Thus the effective strategy for stress reduction among governmental employees requires additional programs focusing on innovated job specifications and managed personality trait.

자기결정성 이론에 근거한 제2형 당뇨병 환자의 자가관리행위 예측 모형 (A Predictive Model on Self Care Behavior for Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: Based on Self-Determination Theory)

  • Purpose: The study was conducted to develop and test a hypothetical model which explains self-care behavior in patients with type 2 diabetes was established based on the Self-Determination Theory. Methods: The participants were 218 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus enrolled in an outpatient clinic of one endocrine center in Korea. The data were collected using questionnaires from April 5 through May 7, 2010. The descriptive and correlation statistics were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 15.0 and the structural equation modeling procedure was performed using the AMOS 7.0 program. Results: The results of this study showed that competence and autonomous motivation were the strong factors influencing self-care behavior in patients in this sample. Support from health provider for autonomy was a significant indirect factor on self-care behavior. These factors explained 64.9% of variance in the participants' self care behavior. The proposed model was concise and extensive in predicting self-care behavior of the participants. Conclusion: Findings may provide useful assistance in developing effective nursing interventions for maintaining and promoting self-care behavior in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Determining the Relationship between the Effective Factors of Strategic Behavior: A Case Study for Social Insurance Company of Tehran

  • Purpose - In order to achieve the organizational objectives, the behavior of the employees and their collaboration with management should be taken into account. It has been shown that strategic behavior depends on a number of different factors. The aim of this article was determining the relationship between factors related to the strategic behavior. Research design, data, and methodology - Accordingly, a conceptual model was developed and tested in the form of a survey. Participants of the study were the employees working in the social Insurance company of Tehran. Data was collected using a questionnaire conducted among managers and the staff. A correlation model was used for data analysis by employing the SPSS software. Results - The findings showed there was a relationship between employees' engagement and the strategic behavior. Conclusions - Our research has demonstrated the effect of employees' engagement on the strategic-driven behavior, emphasizing the role of employees' engagement in health-care service firms. Although previous service research has focused on the factors that drive employees' performance, it seems that most of this research has been inspired by the idea of the service profit chain, focusing on the effect of employees' satisfaction on performance.
