In the case of color, they were direct expression, contrasting formative expression, and gradual changing expression. In the case of pattern, they were the methods of filling, filling & emptying, and partial filling. • The purpose of this study is to provide beauticians with the fundamental material for them to use effectively heat permanent wave and satisfy their customers. It carried out an experiment with hair of a woman in her late twenties to investigate the change of physical and morphologic characteristics by its water content when performing heat permanent wave. It evaluated the water content as 0g, 1g, 2g, 3g and 4g respectively when performing the heat permanent wave on hair, then it compared and observed the wave type, tensile strength and elongation for its physical change also observed the morphologic change by scanning electronic microscope and transmission electronic microscope. The result of experiment on the physical specificity revealed that the wave was the most ideal when the water content was 2 g. The material with much water content made wave but the result was not satisfied. In the case of hair with water content of nearly 0g didn't make wave. In terms of tensile strength and elongation, the tensile strength was generally reduced as hair was damaged, on the contrary, the elongation was increased. It observed the change of morphologic characteristic and got the result that the damage on hair cuticle was deepen as its water content was decreased. It also showed the result that damage happened on hair cuticle more than hair cortex with the observation of fine structure on hair section by transmission electronic microscope. Generally chemical treatment damaged hair. Under consideration of this aspect, the ultimate goal of this thesis is to minimize the damage of hair caused by chemical treatment and get the satisfaction on the hair style. The result of experiment presented that the hair showed the best result when its water content was 2 g.

Since smart mirror can display a content through a monitor which is attached to back of mirror system while looking through a mirror, it can be applied to various industries such as fashion, beauty and health care. This paper proposes an efficient learning system requiring no assistance from others for the hearing deaf who atrophy verbal skill and are inaccurate in pronunciation by using features of smart mirror. Also, this system proposes an efficient and simple lip reading method which can be applied to an embedded system and improves a learning efficiency by employing previously verified pronunciation training data.

  • This study performs statistical analysis through a questionnaire in order to examine effects of shapes of beards on a formation of male image in male/female workers in their 30s-40s. The findings suggest that sensitive image response factor depending on the shapes of beards functions as an important one in the modifications of attraction, character and image. Although there is a difference between male and female, in the preference for beards' shapes effective in the change of image, no difference is found in sensitive responses of them according to quantities of beards. This study has an implication for quantifying sensitive responses to the formation effect of male image depending on the shapes of them. It provides a guideline for total image making to males who want to change their external image formation according to shape changes of beards in the future, and is simultaneously expected to be used as basic and applied materials in the beauty industry for males.

  • John William Waterhouse (1849-1917) is a painter renown for his romantic beautiful femme fatale images in the late 19th century in England. The purpose of this study is to examine the fashion in Waterhouse's femme fatale images. Waterhouse displays the devilism of femme fatale by the symbols of a wicked woman. He emphasized how wicked she is by means of water such as lake, river, and sea as well as symbols associated with demons such as forest, cave, naked woman, long hair, a monster-headed woman looking like an animal, water lily, and garden. On the other hand, he illustrates the woman's style as an image of a typical feminine beauty. Expressing naturally a fine-curved, immature girl's body with marvel-like white and clear skin in a kneeling down or crouching passive rose and depicting it as an innocent and fragile feminine image, he created a passive and lovely image of a young girl. With her eminent beauty and sex appeals, she lured men into danger. Words such as evil, women, and death had been used in describing her as femme fatale to emphasize her wickedness as well as to deliver the meaning across from the inside and to the outside. They also described her as a type of woman with body posture and fashion corresponding to the sexual ideology during the Victorian Age. His description of this fashion image was to show that femme fatale's fashion, which represents attraction and fatality, does not necessarily translate to an active fashion style that emphasizes sensuality. It also tends to minimize resistance and feelings of being threatened. Therefore, it allons us to acknowledge that even girlish body with innocent and frail-looking fashion can be a form of femme fatale, and that fashion styles is essential in forming the image of femininity.

  • The aim of the study was to evaluate the physiological activity of Lycium ruthenicum to investigate their potential as a raw material that can be used in the cosmetic industry. L. ruthenicum fruit extracts were obtained using 70% methanol(LRM) and hot-water(LRW). The DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging abilities were higher in the LRM extract than in the LRW extract. The FRAP value of LRM was about 1.3-fold greater than that of LRW. The polyphenol contents of LRM and LRW were 31.883±1.395 mg/g and 27.748±2.741 mg/g respectively. LRM inhibited the generation of NO in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. LRM also attenuated the expression of COX-2, PGE2, IL-6, and TNF-α induced by LPS. These results suggests that L. ruthenicum fruits could be use as a source of natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agent in cosmetic products.
