The Effects of User Involvement on Internet Ad Preference Based on Presentation Type and Content

  • The primary objectives of this study were, using data from Internet users in Korea, to determine users' preference of banner ad through two ad properties; ad presentation type (text vs. image) and ad content (product information vs. prize information) by incorporating the level of involvement into research design. Using within-group experimental design by means of subjects' web-based participation in the study, the study result showed that image-based banner ad was significantly preferred to text-based banner ad. It was found that the level of ad involvement had a significant impact on the preference of banner ads. Also it was found that image-based banner ad had a greater effect on ad preference than text-based banner ad in low involvement situation only, Finally, image-based banner ad was consistently preferred to text-based banner ad regardless of involvement level when the banner ad was product oriented. The study findings suggest that adoption decisions regarding banner ad presentation type and banner ad content should be based on the knowledge of both the level of consumer's ad involvement and the interactive effects between ad presentation and ad content.

  • Internet Banner ad. has became one of the most interesting sector to marketer which was even unacquainted word to them a few years ago. Advertisement of Internet has many differences, merits and demerits with traditional ad, namely television, newspaper, magazine and outdoors advertising etc. In this study, we compare Internet advertisement with traditional advertisement and consider the way which is the most effective Internet advertisement, especially banner using an analysis of census.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of internet fashion advertisement (Ad) formats according to university students' online lifestyle. Static banner, rich media, floating, shopping, and target advertisement were selected as stimuli and a self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. SPSS PC (Ver. 16.0) was used for factor analysis, ANOVA, and Chi-square test. Factors of online lifestyle were economy, early adaption, cyberspace activity, sociability, innovation, and entertainment, and subjects were segmented into online activity (OA) retard group, OA mania group, hedonic early adapter group, and OA intermediate group. OA retard group was positive to a static banner Ad with intimacy, and OA mania group and OA intermediate group were positive to a static banner Ad with confidence, attention, and intimacy and rich media Ad and floating Ad with confidence and attention. Hedonic early adapter group was positive to a target Ad with attention and intimacy. Internet shopping mall managers should select internet Ad format after segmenting their customers according to OA lifestyle.

Advertising Effect of Wedding Internet Advertisement Types -Static, Pop-Up, & Flash Banners- (웨딩드레스 인터넷 광고유형에 따른 광고효과 -고정배너형, 팝업형, 플래쉬형 배너광고를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the advertising effects of wedding internet advertisement types such as Static, pop-up, and flash banners. The survey subjects were 604 unmarried female consumers, consisting 202 in the static banner group, 201 in the pop-up banner group, and 201 in the flash banner group. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and Duncan test were used for data analysis. In the results, regarding the attitude toward advertisement, pop-up banner was the most effective on the cognitive component, while static banner was the most effective on the behavioral component. Regarding the attitude toward brand, pop­up and flash banner advertisements were more effective than static banner. However, there were no significant differences between the 3 groups in purchasing intention. Based on these results, strategies for wedding dress internet advertisement were suggested.

  • Recently, such as smart phones and tablet users of mobile devices increases rapidly as the related applications(app) and this is increasing the mobile ads. The mobile users may be accessed the variety of the mobile ad by free app and the advertisers and the app developers easily publish the mobile ads by the mobile ad platform. In this paper describe the technical features of domestic mobile ad platforms and the functionality of mobile ads, and for them to compare and analyze.

  • Dark patterns refer to intentionally deceptive design techniques used by online service providers to hide necessary information, preventing users from taking desired actions or luring them into unintended behaviors. In this study, we analyzed the prevalence of dark patterns such as banners, advertorials, pop-ups, and video ads, and their impact on users across the top 200 news websites worldwide. The research revealed that there is a minimal correlation between banner ads and user bounce rates or unique visitors. Consequently, the main screen moving banner and headline news screen moving banner were most frequently observed in South America, while the headline news screen fixed banner was most commonly observed in Asia. All other categories were predominantly observed in Europe, making European websites the most diverse and abundant in various dark patterns.

  • Smartphone is popularized, it is a lot of development of the mobile advertising industry, is born many types of mobile advertising. Many developers in the mobile game is the advertised profitable by using the SDK of service companies that service the advertising the launch of free games. Mobile IGA banner, front advertising, we use the ad in the three forms of the front video advertising, each of advertising, have advantages and disadvantages. Although many of the games currently use a full-page ad and front video ads, these ads profitable model is use the user game play time.   • In order to overcome the disadvantages of banner ad, pop-up ad, interstitial ad, which are existing web advertisement forms, native ad is actively utilized. Native advertising is considered to be a useful advertising technique in that it can reduce users' rejection and attract attention. However, in recent years, there have been a lot of fake news and fake contents that have turned articles or video contents into advertisements. The purpose of this study is to understand how firms can coordinate and control native advertisements in a rational way. For this analysis, we conducted a survey of 308 social media users using quota sampling method. As a result of the verification, it was found that the more negative the perception of the evaluation of the advertisement, the less the level of persuasion about the advertisement and the negative impact on the website where the advertisement is exposed. In addition, this study examined the influence of the negative stimulus factors on the qualitative performance of the firm. As a result, it was found that source non-expert had the highest effect on skepticism on ad. Also, platform overflow has a direct effect on the evaluation of the website as well as the negative evaluation of the advertisement. Moreover, this study provides concrete implications for the subdivision market by verifying the differences between the paths according to the level of website involvement.

  • Advanced persistent threat (APT) attacks are attacks aimed at a particular entity as a set of latent and persistent computer hacking processes. These APT attacks are usually carried out through various methods, including spam mail and disguised banner advertising. The same name is also used for files, since most of them are distributed via spam mail disguised as invoices, shipment documents, and purchase orders. In addition, such Infostealer attacks were the most frequently discovered malicious code in the first week of February 2021. CDR is a 'Content Disarm & Reconstruction' technology that can prevent the risk of malware infection by removing potential security threats from files and recombining them into safe files. Gartner, a global IT advisory organization, recommends CDR as a solution to attacks in the form of attachments. There is a program using CDR techniques released as open source is called 'Dangerzone'. The program supports the extension of most document files, but does not support the extension of HWP files that are widely used in Korea. In addition, Gmail blocks malicious URLs first, but it does not block malicious URLs in mail systems such as Naver and Daum, so malicious URLs can be easily distributed. Based on this problem, we developed a 'Dangerzone' program that supports the HWP extension to prevent APT attacks, and a Chrome extension that performs URL checking in Naver and Daum mail and blocking banner ads.
