  • Until now, the Korean archeological community has only been able to introduce the findings of classical archaeology developed in the West, and it also suffers from a lack of concepts and academic achievements. The domestic archeological community also started to develop later than that of the West, when it began to analyze ancient history and relics through the classic works of history titled Samguk sagi (三國史記) and Samguk yusa (三國遺事). Furthermore, it is actively utilizing the Chinese classics, such as the Samgukji (三國志) and Huhanseo (後漢書), as well as certain Japanese classics such as Ilbonsegi (日本書紀). Due to the total lack of domestic classics, however, there are few details about the formation of ancient polities, national changes, and inter-country negotiations and exchanges, as well as numerous other unresolved issues. This study raises the need to revamp classical archaeology in order to solve these problems. The concept of classical means 'all records made in the past' in the shallow sense, while the meaning of the historiography means "historical records according to the taxonomy of the old book." Classical archaeology is a field in which the classics are analyzed and interpreted so as to study the culture of the past. This section has set up a wide range of classical categories, and has found that the classics can be used in a meaningful way in classical archaeology through the use of the Gongjagae (孔子家語). The use of the classics in classical archaeology could produce significant results if the relevant DB is managed by various institutions and organizations using proper techniques of analysis including big data analysis.

  • In this study, the method of quality measurement for the statistical usefulness of de-identified data was examined in terms of prediction accuracy by statistical modeling. In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, effective use of big data is essential to innovation through information and communication technology, but personal information issues are constrained to actively utilize big data. In order to solve this problem, de-identification guidelines have been established and the possibility of actual re-identification of personal information has become very low due to the utilization of various de-identification methods. On the other hand, strong de-identification can have side effects that degrade the usefulness of the data. We have studied the quality of statistical usefulness of the de-identified data by KLT model which is a representative de-identification method, A case study was conducted to see how statistical accuracy of prediction is degraded by de-identification. We also proposed a new measure of data usefulness of the de-identified data by quantifying how much data is added to the de-identified data to restore the accuracy of the predictive model.

  • Recently, there is increasing interest in attracting local tourist in the city to revitalize the local economy. For this purpose, customized tourism strategies based on the analysis of travel routes and consumption patterns are becoming important. However, existing studies either focused on limited mainstream tourist analysis or lacked analysis of tourists' behavior-based data perspectives. Therefore, this study aims to present a big data-based tourism strategy that provides customized information by analyzing the demand of individual travelers in details based on mobile service data and card expenditure data generated by the travelers in Yongin city. By tracing those data, this study visualized the tourists' itinerary and their expenditure patterns. The analysis of data from July 2017 to June 2018 shows that men tend to consume in various areas compared to women. It also shows consumption areas for people in their 30s and 40s are similar, whereas those in their 20s do not vary. Using the big data based on Geographic Information system, this study provides strategic insights to administrative personnel who are in charge of tour policy.

  • With the recent 4th Industrial Revolution, the growth and value of big data are continuously increasing, and the government is also actively making efforts to open and utilize public data. However, the situation still does not reach the level of demand for public data use by citizens, At this point, it is necessary to identify research trends in the public data field and seek directions for development. In this study, in order to understand the research trends related to public data, the analysis was performed using topic modeling, which is mainly used in text mining techniques. To this end, we collected papers containing keywords of 'Public data' among domestic and foreign research papers (1,437 domestically, 9,607 overseas) and performed topic modeling based on the LDA algorithm, and compared domestic and foreign public data research trends. After analysis, policy implications were presented. Looking at the time series by topic, research in the fields of 'personal information protection', 'public data management', and 'urban environment' has increased in Korea. Overseas, it was confirmed that research in the fields of 'urban policy', 'cell biology', 'deep learning', and 'cloud·security' is active.

  • Coinciding with the advent of COVID-19, online education is on the rise both domestically and globally, and has become an absolutely necessary and irreplaceable form of education. It is a very curious question what the perception of people about the suddenly growing form of education is, and how it has changed. This study investigated changes in consumers' perception of online education using big data. To this end, we divided the time into four stages: before COVID-19 (November to December 2019), after the triggering of COVID-19 (January to February 2020), right after the online classes started (March to April 2020), after experiencing some online education (May to June 2020). Then we conducted text mining, namely, keyword frequency analysis, network analysis, word cloud analysis, and sentiment analysis were performed. The implications derived as a result of the analysis can help education policy makers and educators working in the field to improve online education quality and establish its future directions.

  • This paper reviewed the necessity of a information and communication technology (ICT)-based smart livestock system as a development strategy for the animal life industry in the future. It also predicted the trends of livestock and animal food until 2050, 30 years later. Worldwide, livestock raising and consumption of animal food are rapidly changing in response to population growth, aging, reduction of agriculture population, urbanization, and income growth. Climate change can change the environment and livestock's productivity and reproductive efficiencies. Livestock production can lead to increased greenhouse gas emissions, land degradation, water pollution, animal welfare, and human health problems. To solve these issues, there is a need for a preemptive future response strategy to respond to climate change, improve productivity, animal welfare, and nutritional quality of animal foods, and prevent animal diseases using ICT-based smart livestock system fused with the 4th industrial revolution in various aspects of the animal life industry. The animal life industry of the future needs to integrate automation to improve sustainability and production efficiency. In the digital age, intelligent precision animal feeding with IoT (internet of things) and big data, ICT-based smart livestock system can collect, process, and analyze data from various sources in the animal life industry. It is composed of a digital system that can precisely remote control environmental parameters inside and outside the animal husbandry. The ICT-based smart livestock system can also be used for monitoring animal behavior and welfare, and feeding management of livestock using sensing technology for remote control through the Internet and mobile phones. It can be helpful in the collection, storage, retrieval, and dissemination of a wide range of information that farmers need. It can provide new information services to farmers.

  • In this study, waves were defined using the water surface elevation data observed from the HeMOSU-1 and 2 marine meteorological observation towers installed on the west coast of Korea, and correlation analysis was performed between wave parameters. The wave height and wave period were determined using the wave-train analysis method and the wave spectrum analysis method, and the relationship between the wave parameters was calculated and compared with the previous study. In the relation between representative wave heights, most of the correlation coefficients between waves showed a difference of less than 0.1% in error rate compared to the previous study, and the maximum wave height showed a difference of up to 29%. In addition, as a result of the correlation analysis between the wave periods, the peak period was estimated to be abnormally large at rates of 2.5% and 1.3% in HeMOSU-1&2, respectively, due to the effect of the bimodal spectrum that occurs when the spectral energy density is small.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the definition of traditional landscape and the appropriate English notation. To confirm the appropriate concept, the charter's relevant terminology was synthesised and the meaning of the vocabulary used in international studies was examined. ICOMOS The Charter on Historic Gardens(The Florebce Charter, 1981), ICOMOS-IFLA Document on Historic Urban Parks(New Delhi, 2017), and UNESCO Recommendation on The Historic Urban Landscape(Paris, 2011) were analysed to examine the concept, and the words describing definitions, space, objects, value, and activity were arranged. Big data was used to analyse the research literature related to overseas traditional landscapes. This study examined the characteristics of each word and examined the appropriate name for expressing the historic and cultural characteristics of landscape in research literature, which included traditional, historic, cultural, classical, vernacular, landscape-related gardens, parks, and landscape words related to historic culture. Consequently, the International Charter declared the suitability of 'historic' gardens and parks, as well as traditional landscape for expressing unique designs, composition technique, and ecological meaning of Korea, while historic landscape was deemed suitable for explaining gardens and parks in landscape history.

  • Recent years have drawn a great attention to generation MZ and Metaverse, due to 4th industrial revolution and the development of digital environment that blurs the boundary between reality and virtual reality. Generation MZ approaches the information very differently from the existing generations and uses distinguished communication methods. In terms of learning, they have different motivations, types, skills and build relationships differently. Meanwhile, Metaverse is drawing a great attention as a teaching method that fits traits of gen MZ. Thus, the current research aimed to investigate how to increase the use of Metaverse in Educational Technology. Specifically, this research examined the antecedents of popularity of Gather Town, a platform of Metaverse. Big data of news articles have been collected and analyzed using the Bigkinds system provided by Korea Press Foundation. The analysis revealed, first, a rapid increasing trend of media exposure of Gather Town since July 2021. This suggests a greater utilization of Gather Town in the field of education after the COVID-19 pandemic. Second, Word Association Analysis and Word Cloud Analysis showed high weights on education related words such as 'remote', 'university', and 'freshman', while words like 'Metaverse', 'Metaverse platform', 'Covid19', and 'Avatar' were also emphasized. Third, Network Analysis extracted 'COVID19', 'Avatar', 'University student', 'career', 'YouTube' as keywords. The findings also suggest potential value of Gather Town as an educational tool under COVID19 pandemic. Therefore, this research will contribute to the application and utilization of Gather Town in the field of education.
