The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygiene students on sexual harrassment in an effort to provide some information on the prevention of sexual harrassment. The subjects in this study were 738 dental hygiene students at colleges located in four different large regions. As for the concept of sexual harrassment, the students got 4.33 out of a possible five in that regard, which was a high score. But they got a relatively lower score of 3.42 in awareness of the causes of sexual harrassment. They got the highest score of 4.42 in physical sexual harrassment among different types of sexual harrassment. Regarding the offender of sexual harrassment, they got 2.81 out of a possible five, which was lowest among their scores in the items of sexual harrassment awareness. There were statistically significant differences in sexual harrassment awareness according to gender, age, grade and religion. The above-mentioned findings of the study illustrated that the dental hygiene students were well aware of sexual harrassment in general, but that the way they coped with it was quite passive. The development of educational programs on how to prevent sexual harrassment and cope with it is required to spread better awareness of sexual harrassment among college students and to encourage them to properly cope with it.

Safety and security measures in the shipping industry play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and reliable cargo and passengers operations at each stage of the supply chain. The ISPS Code was adopted into SOLAS convention to protect seafarers and vessels from security threats. Furthermore, according to the Manila amendments to STCW Convention in 2010, personnel employed on board are required to participate in security training. Effective seafarers' education and training programs are of major importance to guarantee satisfactory performance levels onboard to minimize security-related risks. The study's contribution focuses on empirically evaluating the relationship between personal level of awareness and security performance when seafarers undertake security training courses. Findings of this study suggest that (1) seafarers who undertake maritime security training have a higher awareness of ship security, (2) security training and security awareness have a positive influence on security performance, and (3) security awareness mediates the impact of security training and security performance. In conclusion, education and training programs are key tools in enhancing seafarers' security awareness and security performance which, from an industry viewpoint, can translate into major economic, operational and reputational benefits.

In the study, the moral sensitivity, moral distress, and biomedical ethics awareness levels of hospital nurses are examined, and the mediating effect of biomedical ethics awareness in the relationship between moral sensitivity and moral distress is verified. As the study subjects, 153 hospital nurses were selected from both university hospitals and general hospitals in S city and J city. Using the SPSS WIN 21.0 system, data analysis was conducted via t-tests, the Sheffe test, correlation analysis, multiple regression analyses, Sobel test. The average level of moral sensitivity experienced by the hospital nurses was 4.70(out of 7), moral distress was 62.80(out of 336), and biomedical ethics awareness was 2.21(out of 4). Moral distress had a static correlation with moral sensitivity and biochemical ethics awareness, and moral sensitivity had a static correlation with biomedical ethics awareness. Finally, biomedical ethics awareness showed a partial mediating effect in the relationship between moral sensitivity and moral distress. It is important to develop a biomedical ethics education program that can help hospital nurses to resolve moral issues, thereby improving moral sensitivity and diminishing their moral distress.

Background: Breast cancer continues to be the most common type of cancer afflicting many women worldwide. Presently, educational campaigns and research target only women as if men have no role in the management of this disease. The study examined the willingness of male partners to assist in early female breast cancer detection as well as their awareness and knowledge levels. Materials and Methods: Using a semi-structured questionnaire, data was collected from 500 public servants within the Tamale Metropolis and analyzed in SPSS. Results: The level of awareness of breast cancer was very high (98.8%) but there was a low level of knowledge of breast cancer among the male population. Marital status and religion had no effect on attitude, but increasing educational status significantly increased knowledge and positive attitude towards breast cancer examination (${\chi}^2$=4.255, p=0.0391). The majority (92.0%) agreed that men can assist in early breast cancer detection and 96.2% were willing to be provided with breast examination skills. Conclusions: Although level of awareness on female breast cancers among the men was high, they generally lack knowledge of the disease. Majority of male partners want to assist in early breast cancer detection if provided with the necessary skills.
Background: The scientific evidence relating to the burden of oral diseases attributable to tobacco use has been reviewed and the need for a well-structured dental teaching program concentrating on oral cancer education and tobacco cessation interventions has been emphasized. The aim of our study was to evaluate the awareness of oral cancer and perception of tobacco use cessation counseling among dental students at all study levels in India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. Materials and Methods: A structured, pre-tested, self-administered 15-item questionnaire was used to conduct a cross-sectional survey. Data analyses including percentages, frequency distributions and tests of chi-square were generated. Results: A total of 621 (97.6%) Indian, 493 (96.5%) Saudi, 194 (96.5%) Yemeni and 187 (98.4%) United Arab Emirates respondents recognized the association between oral cancer and cigarette smoking. Although more than 96% of the students surveyed recognized the association between oral cancer and cigarette smoking and about 55% reported cigarette smoking as one of the etiological factors of oral cancer, more than 66% of students who reported cigarette smoking as an etiological factor of oral cancer disagreed/strongly disagreed with all the statements concerning tobacco use cessation. Conclusions: A higher level of oral cancer awareness did not have a positive impact on the perception of tobacco use cessation counseling among the sample surveyed.
In Korea, the government introduced the $6^{th}$ industrialization policy for the agricultural sector in 2013, to increase farmers' incomes and the value-added of agricultural products. Although some research has been done on the $6^{th}$ industrialization of agriculture, the relationship between the level of consumers' awareness and the $6^{th}$ industrialization of agriculture has not yet been discussed. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of consumers' awareness levels on the development of the $6^{th}$ industrialization of agriculture. The results of a survey and seemingly unrelated bivariate probit model present the following findings: an increased consumers' awareness of the $6^{th}$ industrialization of agriculture positively affects the agricultural sector. More particularly, it was found that consumers who agree that the $6^{th}$ industrialization increases farmers' income and creates value-added agricultural products will also have an optimistic prospect for a successful $6^{th}$ industrialization. In addition, consumers who like to experience agro-tourism type activities give higher scores to the infrastructure level of the $6^{th}$ industrialization. Consumers who think that production section should take lead the $6^{th}$ industrialization of the agricultural sector will also have an optimistic prospect for a successful $6^{th}$ industrialization. However, consumers who think that farmers or farmers' organizations, should take lead the $6^{th}$ industrialization have a more pessimistic prospect for a successful $6^{th}$ industrialization. Consumers who got information on the $6^{th}$ industrialization from the internet think that the infrastructure of the $6^{th}$ industrialization is not good enough.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the self-efficacy of dental hygiene students and their satisfaction with clinical practice to provide information for developing programs aimed at instilling self-efficacy and boosting satisfaction with clinical practice. Methods: A self-reported survey was conducted with dental hygiene students in the metropolitan area. Of those surveys distributed, 243 questionnaires were analyzed. Results: The results of this study are as follows: 1. Regarding self-efficacy, the subjects had a mean result of 2.96(out of five points), and 3.09 points in satisfaction with clinical practice. 2. As for the subfactors of self-efficacy, the students who got higher grades, whose awareness of dental hygienists was better and whose awareness of dental hygienists after on-site clinical practice was better scored higher in terms of confidence and self-regulation. In task difficulty preference, the students who were more satisfied with majoring in dental hygiene and whose awareness of dental hygienists was better scored higher. In terms of motivation for choosing the dental hygiene department, the students scored higher when the department was their preferred option. 3. In satisfaction with clinical practice, the students who were aware of dental hygienists at the time of college entrance was better. Those whose awareness of dental hygienists after experiencing clinical practice was better and who were more satisfied with majoring in dental hygiene expressed more satisfaction with clinical practice. 4. Satisfaction with clinical practice was higher when self-efficacy was better. Conclusions: Based on the above results, it is thought that developing programs that can enhance self-efficacy and include on-site clinical practice would be beneficial as higher self-efficacy levels were related to higher clinical practice satisfaction.
Background: The objective of this study was to investigate Korean people's awareness about impact of the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident in Japan and radioactive contamination caused by it. Materials and Methods: The respondents of the survey were 600 adults who resided in the Seoul metropolitan area. Results and discussion: The survey results show that the majority of respondents were concerned about impact of radiation leakage that might have an effect on our environment. They were worried about radioactive contamination of foodstuffs, particularly fishery products and preferred to acquire information through TV(49.8%) or the Internet(31.3%). Meanwhile, respondents mentioned that the information on the Fukushima nuclear accident and radioactive contamination had not been sufficient and they didn't know well about the follow-up measures of the government on the accident. Most respondents answered that information on radioactive contamination levels and safety of foods and environment was most needed. Conclusion: The results of this study could be useful to enhance awareness on radioactivity and improve risk communication on nuclear power plant accidents.
Hand-washing is one of the major factors in personal hygiene and public health. This study was undertaken to investigate the hygienic behavior of food-service employees, focusing on awareness of hand washing, hand washing practices, and the load of index microorganisms (aerobic plate count, total and fecal coliforms, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus) on the hands of food-service employees. A questionnaire survey completed by direct interview, direct observation of restrooms by the researcher and trained observers, and microbiological examination according to the Food Code of Korea were carried out. In the survey, a positive attitude toward hand washing compliance was reported; however, improper hand washing and poor hand hygiene of the food-service employees were seen under direct observation. Significant differences (p<0.05) were found between the questionnaire survey and the direct observations in hand washing compliance after using the toilet, duration of hand washing, use of hand washing agents, use of hand washing tools, washing of different parts of the hands, hand-drying method, temperature of water, and method of turning off the water. Samples taken from employees' hands before washing showed higher levels of bacteria than those taken during work and/or after washing (p<0.05). Poor hand washing practices were indicated by the positive results for total and fecal coliforms, E. coli, and S. aureus on the hands of some food-service employees. This study showed that there is a marked difference between the food-service employees' awareness of hand-washing and their actual hand-washing practices. The poor hand hygiene of and improper hand washing by the food-service employees should be addressed for improved food safety.
This study aims to develop and validate Cultural Competence Scale for prospective social workers. The scale adopted three constructs of cultural competence, which include multicultural awareness, knowledge, and skills. It was made up with concrete episodes based on which respondents rate sets of competing statements relating to multicultural awareness, knowledge, and skills. The score of each item was calculated by subtracting each score of non-cultural awareness, knowledge, and skills from the corresponding score of cultural awareness, knowledge, and skills when cultural statements got higher scores than did non-cultural statements. Each score was summed up to make a total cultural competence score. Through preliminary and main test, 16 episodes and corresponding sets of statements were selected for the final version. The final scale showed satisfactory levels of reliability and validity. Based on the results, implications for the application and the further improvement of this scale were discussed.
