BIM 형상정보를 이용한 증강현실기반 가시화 사례 (A Study of Augmented Reality based Visualization using Shape Information of Building Information Modeling)

  • 기존의 건축계획 및 설계과정에서는 건축물 내 외부의 공간감을 확인하기 위해 건물모형을 제작하였으나 건물모형은 비교적 많은 제작 시간과 노력이 들며 건물의 내부 정보를 파악하기에 어려움이 따른다. 이를 보완하기 위해 기존 설계, 계획 과정과 그에 대한 가시화 방법으로써 CAD툴을 사용하여 건물 모형으로는 파악하기 어려운 건물 내부 정보를 가시화 할 수 있었지만, 건물모형에서 확인할 수 있는 부피감을 확인하기에는 부족함이 존재한다. 기본적으로 CAD는 설계에 목적을 두고 만들어진 프로그램이며 일반적인 가시화 환경인 2차원 모니터 화면상에서 3차원 건물을 보여주게 되므로 공간에 대한 인지적 몰입감을 만족시키기에는 부족하다. 본 논문에서는 BIM 형상정보 데이터를 일련의 소프트웨어로 가공하여 증강현실 컨텐츠로 변환하는 과정을 소개한다. 이는 건축계획 및 설계과정에서 형상정보가 수정될 경우 최종 가시화까지 소요되는 비용과 시간을 단축시킬 수 있다. 또한 BIM 형상정보를 증강현실기법을 이용하여 3차원 인지공간에서 가시화함으로써 3차원 건물의 내 외부 공간정보를 분석하기가 용이하다. 또한 건물의 내 외부 정보를 증강현실 환경에서 효과적으로 조작할 수 있도록 건축 요소의 제거, 슬라이스컷 등 다양한 인터랙션을 제안한다.

The Effects of Augmented Somatosensory Feedback on Postural Sway and Muscle Co-contraction in Different Sensory Conditions

  • Background: Augmented somatosensory feedback stimulates the mechanoreceptor to deliver information on bodily position, improving the postural control. The various types of such feedback include ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) and vibration. The optimal feedback to mitigate postural sway remains unclear, as does the effect of augmented somatosensory feedback on muscle co-contraction. Objects: We compared postural sway and ankle muscle co-contraction without feedback (control) and with either of two forms of somatosensory feedback (AFOs and vibration). Methods: We recruited 15 healthy subjects and tested them under three feedback conditions (control, AFOs, vibration) with two sensory conditions (eyes open, or eyes closed and the head tilted back), in random order. Postural sway was measured using a force platform; the mean sway area of the 95% confidence ellipse (AREA) and the mean velocity of the center-of-pressure displacement (VEL) were assessed. Co-contraction of the tibialis anterior and gastrocnemius muscles was measured using electromyography and converted into a co-contraction index (CI). Results: We found significant main effects of the three feedback states on postural sway (AREA, VEL) and the CI. The two sensory conditions exerted significant main effects on postural sway (AREA and VEL). AFOs reduced postural sway to a level significantly lower than that of the control (p = 0.014, p < 0.001) or that afforded by vibration (p = 0.024, p < 0.001). In terms of CI amelioration, the AFOs condition was significantly better than the control (p = 0.004). Vibration did not significantly improve either postural sway or the CI compared to the control condition. There was no significant interaction effect between the three feedback conditions and the two sensory conditions. Conclusion: Lower-extremity devices such as AFOs enhance somatosensory perception, improving postural control and decreasing the CI during static standing.

  • 최근 스마트폰을 이용한 증강현실 기반 건물 안내 어플리케이션들은 사용자의 위치와 목표 건물의 위치 간의 거리에 상관없이 동일한 고정 형태로 정보를 보여주고 있고, 특히 다수의 목표 건물들이 근접하여 위치하고 있을 때 제공 정보들이 중첩하여 디스플레이 됨에 따라 정보 전달력이 떨어지는 제한점이 있다. 또한, 기존 증강현실 기반 어플리케이션에서 사용자의 현재 위치를 직관적으로 파악하는 데는 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 제한점을 해결하고자 사용자와 건물의 위치에 따라 정보객체의 위치와 크기가 적응적으로 제공되고, 사용자의 위치가 실시간으로 표 시되는 3D 지도를 제 공함으로써 사용자들이 직관적으로 자신의 위치와 건물의 위치를 파악할 수 있도록 하는 안내 시스템을 설계 구현하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 증강현실 기반 건물 안내 시스템은 서울시 중구에 위치한 덕수궁내의 건물 안내에 초점을 맞추어 제작되었다.

Paraquat가 Arachidonate Lipoxygenase의 대사에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Paraquat on Arachidonate Lipoxygenase Metabolism)

  • Using mixed incubation of cultured endothelial cells, cultured fibroblasts, neutrophils activated with PMA and paraquat, the production of superoxide anion, $H_2O$$_2$and lipoxygenase metabolites (5-HETE and 12-HETE) of arachidonate was estimated. The results was as follows: 1. Neutrophils activated with PMA was produced superoxide anion,$H_2O_2$and lipoxygenase metabolites (5-HETE and 12-HETE) of arachidonate. 2. Fibroblasts did not alter the production of superoxide anion and $H_2O_2$ by neutrophils, it was markedly reduced by mixed incubation with endothelial cells. 3. Mixed incubation with endothelial cells significantly augmented the production of 5 or 12-HETEs, but fibroblasts did not. 4. Using mixed incubation of endothelial cells, fibroblasts, neutrophils and paraquat (50ug/m1 and 100ug/m1), the production of superoxide anion, $H_2O_2$and HETEs was significantly increased on both cells at low concentration (50ug/m1), but markedly reduced at high concentration (1001g/m1). 5. Paraquat showed concentration dependent effects on arachidonate lipoxygenase metabolism.

Unilateral Augmented Pedicle Screw Fixation for Foraminal Stenosis

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of unilateral decompression and pedicle screw fixation for the unilateral symptomatic foraminal stenosis. Methods: The study group comprises consecutive 16 patients who underwent unilateral decompression and bone cement augmented pedicle screw fixation from May 2003 to January 2006. The patients were evaluated by visual analog scale (VAS) for pain and the scoring system of the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) for low back pain. The result of surgery was also evaluated with McNab's classification. Excellent or good outcome was considered as successful. The patients were followed at postoperative 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, and 1 year with standing AP and lateral films. Results: The average VAS and JOA score of the 16 patients were 7.8(range, 6-9) and 5.8(range, 3 - 10) before surgery and 2.2(range, 0 - 5)and 12.3(range, 9 - 15) at the time of last follow up. Both VAS and JOA score improved significantly after the surgery (p<0.05, t-test). All patients improved after the operation and no revision surgery was required. No metal failure or pseudoarthrosis was observed during the follow-up. The success rate was 87.5%. Conclusion: Our data suggest that unilateral decompression and pedicle screw fixation for the unilateral symptomatic foraminal stenosis is an effect method for obtaining satisfactory clinical outcome. Its possible advantage is shorter operation time and reduced surgical extent. We believe that the reduced stiffness of unilateral fixation was compensated by pedicle screw augmentation and interbody fusion.

Case series of maxillary sinus augmentation with biphasic calcium phosphate: a clinical and radiographic study

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate 3.5 years-cumulative survival rate of implants placed on augmentedsinus using Osteon, a bone graft material, and to assess the height of the grafted material through radiographic evaluation. Methods: Twenty patients were treated with maxillary sinus augmentation and 45 implant fixtures were installed simultaneously or after 6 months healing period. The height of the augmented sinus and the loss of marginal bone were measured by panoramic and intraoral radiographs immediately after augmentation and up to 42 months (mean, 19.4 months) subsequently. Changes in the height of the sinus graft material were calculated radiographically. Results: The cumulative survival rate was 95.56% in all 45 implants. Additionall, normal healing process without any complication was observed in all patients. The original sinus height was mean 4.3 mm and the augmented sinus height was mean 13.4 mm after the surgery. The mean marginal bone loss till 42 months was $0.52{\pm}0.56\;mm$. The reduced height of Osteon was $0.83{\pm}0.38\;mm$ and it did not show significant correlation with the follow up periods (P=0.102). There were no statistically significant differences in reduced height of Osteon according to the simultaneous/delayed implantation (P=0.299) and particle size of Osteon (P=0.644). Conclusions: It can be suggested that Osteon may have predictable result when it was used as a grafting material for sinus floor augmentation.

CDM Controller Incorporating Friction Compensation for Rotational Inverted Pendulum

  • A controller designed by CDM for a servo type system which is an augmented system constructed from a rotational inverted pendulum with an integrator added to its arm, is presented in this paper. In order to be able to apply the CDM concept, the augmented system must be linearized and converted into controllable canonical form. Then, the controller consisting of the state feedback gain matrix and an integral gain in the sense of CDM can be obtained. This shows that design procedure for the proposed controller is easy. The experimental results obtained from the rotational inverted pendulum controlled by the proposed controller show that the system response has no steady-state error, however, the oscillation amplitude of the arm angle is still significant. Therefore, in this paper, the friction compensation using Coulomb friction with stiction is also added to the controller. The oscillation amplitude of the arm angle that can be reduced remarkably is also shown in the experimental results.

교감신경절(交感神經節) 흥분제(興奮劑)에 대(對)한 가토혈압반응(家兎血壓反應) (Blood Pressure Response of Rabbits to Sympathetic Ganglionic Stimulants)

  • It has been reported by some investigators that pressor response of rabbits to sympathetic ganglionic stimulants was weak. In this paper it was attempted to investigate this problem more thorouglhy in urethane anesthetized rabbits. 1) In rabbits the approximate doses to elicit increase of about 20 mmHg of blood pressure were $100\;{\mu}g/kg$ with DMPP, $50\;{\mu}g/kg$ with Wy-615, $500\;{\mu}g/kg$ with TMA and with nicotine. The pressor activity of these substances was markedly augmented by treating animals with syrosingopine. 2) In adrenal-ligated rabbits pressor activity of the substances was markedly reduced. Treating the adrenal-ligated animals with syrosingopine augmented significantly the pressor activity of these substances except DMPP. Direct injection of DMPP and TMA into the adrenal produced mole pressor response than intravenous injection did. These date suggest that DMPP has greater effect on the adrenal medulla than the other substances. 3) In vagotomized and atropinized rabbits the pressor activity of these compounds was more marked than in normal rabbits. 4) The above facts indicate that the pressor activity of the ganglionic stimulants in rabbits was definitely low than in cats and dogs. The low responsiveness of the rabbits to these agents was discussed in the light of catecholamine releasing mechanisms, and extraganglionic actions of these substances.

  • 본 논문에서 망막 질환 요인간의 의존도 분석을 위해 효율적인 분류기를 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 먼저 여러 베이지안 네트워크 중에서 TAN (Tree-Augmented Naive Bayesian Network), GBN(General Bayesian Network)과 Markov Blanket으로 특징축소된 GBN과의 분류성능과 예측정확률을 비교분석하였다. 그리고 처음으로, 높은 성능을 보인 TAN을 망막 질환 임상데이터의 의존도 분석에 적용하였다. 의존도 분석 결과, 망막 질환의 진단과 예후 예측에 활용의 가능성을 보였다.

The effect of game-based dual-task training for executive function and repetitive behaviors in patients with autism

  • Exergames are playing an important role in healthcare/rehabilitation. It has also been used to improve motivation among patients with reduced cognition. The purpose of this pilot study was to evaluate the feasibility of using augmented reality (AR) with game-based cognitive-motor training programs for executive function, restricted and repetitive behaviors (RRBs) in children with autism spectrum disorder. Sixteen children aged 6 -16 years were randomly allocated to the experimental group and control group. Outcome measures were performed before and after the intervention and included executive function, restricted and repetitive behavior. A satisfactory survey was conducted post-intervention. A statistically significant improvement was observed in working memory and cognitive flexibility in the experimental group (P<0.05). However, despite no statistical improvements in cognitive inhibition and four subscales of RRBs, promising changes were observed in all the subscales of the executive function and the behavioral outcomes. Parents appreciated the program and children enjoyed the interaction with the AR game-based training. The findings of this preliminary feasibility study showed that AR using Kinect v2 motion with a cognitive-motor game content can be used for children with autism. However, there is a need for conducting a large-scale study to evaluate his effectiveness on executive function and restricted and repetitive behaviors.
