In this paper, we use measure theory for considering asymptotically stable of an autonomous system [1] of first order nonlinear ordinary differential equations(ODE's). First, we define a nonlinear infinite-horizon optimal control problem related to the ODE. Then, by a suitable change of variable, we transform the problem to a finite-horizon nonlinear optimal control problem. Then, the problem is modified into one consisting of the minimization of a linear functional over a set of positive Radon measures. The optimal measure is approximated by a finite combination of atomic measures and the problem converted to a finite-dimensional linear programming problem. The solution to this linear programming problem is used to find a piecewise-constant control, and by using the approximated control signals, we obtain the approximate trajectories and the error functional related to it. Finally the approximated trajectories and error functional is used to for considering asymptotically stable of the original problem.
Bifurcation intability modes of axially compressed circular cylindrical shell are investigated in the limit of zero thickness (i.e., h (thickness) ${\rightarrow}$ 0) analytically, adopting the general stability theory developed by Triantafyllidis and Kwon (1987) and Kwon (1992). The primary state of the shell is obtained in a closed form using the asymptotic technique, and then the straight-forward bifurcation analysis is followed according to the general stability theory to obtain the bifurcation modes in the limit of zero thickness in a full analytical manner. Hence, the closed form bifurcation solution is obtained. Finally, the result is compared with the classical one.

This paper studies asymptotic consensus problem for linear multi-agent systems. We propose a distributed state feedback control algorithm for solving the problem under fixed and undirected network communication. In contrast with the conventional algorithms that use global information (e.g., graph connectivity), the proposed algorithm only uses local information from neighbors. The principle for achieving asymptotic consensus is that, for each agent, a distributed update law gradually increases the coupling gain of LQR-type feedback and thus, the overall stability of the multi-agent system is recovered by the gain margin of LQR.

This paper presents experimental results of the attitude control for a two-rotor system with 3-DOF(degree-of-freedom). Two DC motors are equipped at the two ends of a rectangular beam to generate lift force and the relation between motor voltage and lift force is found experimentally. And inertial sensors are mounted at the center of the beam to measure the roll angle and a complementary filter is designed to get the angle during DC motors driving. A controller with nonlinear compensation, integrator and state feedback to achieve asymptotic tracking for a step input and reject input disturbance is designed and experimented.

This paper addresses a method for structural optimum design of composite rotor blade. The basic model of a composite helicopter main rotor blade is designed and its parameters determining the structural/dynamic properties are studied. Through the investigation of flap/lag/torsional stiffness, the structural properties of the model are analyzed. In this study, helicopter rotor blades are analyzed by using VABS. The computer program VABS (Variational Asymptotic Beam Section Analysis) uses the variational asymptotic method to split a three-dimensional nonlinear elasticity problem into a two dimensional cross-sectional analysis and a one-dimensional nonlinear beam problem. This is accomplished by taking advantage of certain small parameters inherent to beam-like structures. In addition, the rotational stability of the blade is estimated by the frequency diagram from FE analysis(MSC.Patran/Nastran) to understand its vibrational property. From the result, design parameters to determine and optimize the properties of the model are presented.

A theoretical and an empirical application of the speed control of a single-shaft turbo-jet engine was done using an observer for Linear Quadratic Gausian(LQG) that is one of the robust control fields. Based on a general controller design with state feedback, a controller with output feedback was designed to find out a sufficient condition in finding an Asymptotic Stability After defining of the total system through the modeling of a real turbo-jet engine, a Tracking Control was carried out. Furthermore, a saturation of the control input was theoretically considered in the output feedback controller to simulate more similar real condition.
In this paper, a non-asymptotic method is presented for solving singularly perturbed delay differential equations whose solution exhibits a boundary layer behavior. The second order singularly perturbed delay differential equation is replaced by an asymptotically equivalent first order neutral type delay differential equation. Then, Simpson's integration formula and linear interpolation are employed to get three term recurrence relation which is solved easily by Discrete Invariant Imbedding Algorithm. Some numerical examples are given to validate the computational efficiency of the proposed numerical scheme for various values of the delay and perturbation parameters.
The recently proposed control method using a Lyapunov-like function can give global asymptotic stability to a system with mismatched uncertainties if the uncertainties are bounded by a known function and the uncontrolled system is locally and asymptotically stable. In this paper, we modify the method so that it can be applied to a system not satisfying the latter condition without deteriorating qualitative performance. The assured stability in this case is uniform ultimate boundedness which is as useful as global asymptotic stability in the sense that it is global and the bound can be taken arbitrarily small. By the proposed control law we can deal with both matched and mismatched uncertain systems. The above facts conclude that Lyapunov-like control method is superior to any other Lyapunov direct methods in its applicability to uncertain systems.
This paper deals with the flexible manipulator with rotational and translational degrees of freedom, which has an arm of time-varying length with the prismatic joint. The tracking control problem of the flexible manipulator is considered. First we design the controller of the 2-type robust servo system based on the finite horizon optimal control theory for the trajectory planned as a discontinuous velocity. Next, to reduce the tracking error, we use the method of the dynamic programming and of modifying the reference trajectory in time coordinate. The simulation results show that the dynamic modeling is adequate and that the asymptotic stabilization of the flexible manipulator is preserved in spite of nonlinear terms. The PTP control error has been reduced to zero completely, and the trajectory tracking errors are reduced sufficiently by the proposed control method.

In the networked control system (NCS), the uncertain network-induced delay and nonlinear controlled object are the main problems, because they can degrade the performance of the control system and even destabilize it. In this paper, a class of uncertain and nonlinear networked control systems is discussed and its sufficient condition for the robust asymptotic stability is presented. Further, the maximum network-induced delay that insures the system stability is obtained. The Lyapunov and LMI theorems are employed to investigate the problem. The result of an illustrative example shows that the robust stability analysis is sufficient.
