  • In the past, many state Departments of Transportation (DOTs) in the U.S. managed their highway assets on a "worst first" basis and planned their highway projects in a tactical rather than strategic fashion. Due to increasingly tight highway budgets and recognition of long term benefits of asset management systems, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has strongly pushed and encouraged state DOTs to implement asset management for managing their highway assets and highway projects. Currently, many DOTs have actively implemented and are in the process of applying this asset management concept for their highway infrastructure. However, different DOTs are developing different asset management systems because of their different organizational structures, data management structures, relationship with the legislature, and investment priorities. This study first identifies asset management indicators which are essential to successfully implementing asset management systems for State highway assets. The research team conducted a survey of asset management experts and reviewed the practices and policies of leading DOTs in asset management. Based on these indicators, this study develops an Asset Management Assessment Model (AM2) for different asset management systems. This model can be used by different DOTs to evaluate their current asset management systems and identify their strong areas and also their weak areas to improve in order to fully benefit from the advanced concept of asset management.

  • We analyze some real data and, from the background of analysis of data, we define a multi-dimensional jump-type asset model which is derived from short-sampling asset prices. We study some basic properties of this asset model.

  • This paper develops an equilibrium asset pricing model with taxation in the economy. The expected excess rate of return on a risky asset is shown to be an increasing function of the covariance of asset return with aggregate consumption rate changes and the covariance of asset return with the tax rates as well. Thus, the expected execss rate of return can be decomposed as the consumption risk premium and the tax premium. The capital asset pricing model derived in the absence of taxes is shown to understate the expected excess rate of return and to have a misspecification error in the economy with taxation.

  • Software are being studied to register and manage assets. And Methods for evaluating software systems have been based on subjective evaluation criteria. We propose an evaluation model for evaluating complex assets obtained from the complexity measurement of the preceding asset management system. We used scales to measure and provide logical complexity to measure the complexity of our architectural assets. And we used a method to evaluate whether it expresses attribute value of architecture asset. We have also built an evaluation model criterion for evaluating the usability of the asset data based on the ISO/IEC 25010 quality model characteristics of the SQuaRE Series. When the designers design the asset as a composite asset, the optional evaluation of the negative property that weights are assigned according to the characteristics of each asset is applied to secure the flexibility of the evaluation model.

  • It is important to operate an education resources which could be integrated to an system. But most of existing education information system was not developed with standardization. It is need the core education asset and reusable education service to make a good education system. Consequently, it is needed to use Sharable Content Object Reference Model(SCORM) based contents managing in order to reuse the contents of education. And it needs assembling and producing method with reusable core asset of education system to develop the application program for education. In this thesis, we study the Teaching-Learning supporting system to support systematic education resources. Teaching-Learning support system is developed of educational domain assess through development process based on Model Driven Architecture(MDA) and core asset on each stage. Application program of education is developed using MDA automatic tool through analyzing and designing for contents storage which is based on contents meta model. We finally can develop the application software of education with low cost and high productivity by raising the reusability of education contents and by using the core asset to the whole development process.

A Study on the Complexity Measurement of Architecture Assets (아키텍처 자산의 복잡도 측정에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose a method to measure the complexity of assets when a software component is constructed as a basic asset, a standardized design model is acquired, and a reusable extended asset is designed based on the standardized design model. However, each asset of our proposed asset management system consists of composite assets that combine assets of two domains. So this method can not make accurate measurements. Therefore, the complexity of the overall asset can be measured by reflecting the property value of the basic asset stored under the architecture. In conclusion, it is possible to measure the composite-complexity of a composed asset that is inversely proportional to cohesion and proportional to the cumulative sum of the associated values of each asset in the asset-related design.

  • It is essential suity management and standardized asset analysis for telecommunication networks, however existing risk analysis methods and tools are not enough to give shape of the method to evaluate value and asset. they only support asset classification schemes. Moreover, since the existing asset classification schemes are to evaluate comprehensive general risk, they are not appropriate for being applied telecommunication networks and they can´t offer any solutions to an evaluator´s subjectivity problem. In this paper, to solve these problems, we introduce the standardized definition of asset evaluation model new asset classification scheme, two-dimensional asset process classification scheme to consider business process and asset, various evaluation standards for quantitative value and qualitative evaluation. To settle an valuator´s subjectivity problem, we proposed $\beta$-distribution Delphi method.

While Corporation's tangible asset is possible measuring by specific amount of money of financial statement or loss and gain statement etc, Method of corporation's intangible asset measurement is much had been introduced, but some one is not presenting objective frame. This research did size of construction corporation's intangible Asset(Intellectual Asset) through knowledge asset storing accumulation model(XYZ model) that present in LG economy research institute so that do quantification objectively. Through this, can presume construction corporation's intrinsic value level.

A Study on the Way to Improve Quality of Asset Portfolio Management Using Structural Time-Series Model (구조적 시계열모형을 이용한 자산포트폴리오 관리의 개선 방안)

  • Criteria for the comparison of quality of asset portfolio management are risk and return. In this paper a method to use structural time-series model to determine an optimal portfolio for the improvement of quality of asset portfolio management is suggested. In traditional mean variance analysis expected return is assumed to be time-invariant. However, it is more realistic to assume that expected return is temporally dynamic and structural time-series model can be used to reflect time-varying nature of return. A data set from an insurance company was used to show validity of suggested method.
