  • Modern figurative work is designed to have more creativity and characteristic traits by pure thought of the formative ceramic arts. In compliance with the demand which is various the design development could be satisfied an individuality and a taste is become accomplished. In this view, this study looks over expressive aspect of Cubism to present partition as a independent formative ceramic arts is able to contribute emotionally to our whole lives. In this procedure, this work is produced to express a three-dimensional effect and a spatial effect, approaching a figurative side. This is to overcome the limitation of Cubism art expressed in a two-dimensional surface in spite of its multi-dimensional observation of a given object. Accordingly, this study tries approaching pre-understanding of expressive aspect of Cubism which was the important turning-point in 20c art and expansion of the modern ceramic art field before producing the work. This study shows the possibility to become a creative and practical ceramic art work, approaching the new point of view breaking from the established conception. Consequently, the field of ceramic art could be expanded to a part of modern ceramic art as an object of study in art of life.

  • In performance art, actors on the stage play an important role. The purpose of performance art is not in producing expression of superficial or trite pleasure, but in presenting a source of philosophical catharsis regarding essence of a human life. It is actors' responsibility to bring such expression onto the stage. Performance art not only involves technical skills but should be a cultural expression to represent tradition, spirituality and identity of a nation. In Korea, performance art tends to follow Western methods of expression. It is desirable to set a future direction to further develop methodology of expression in performance art. As part of such effort, the research examines how the rhythm of traditional Korean dance and dimension of time and space in performance art are effectively visualized in their relation to "stage direction." The research illustrates characteristics and concepts of Korean dances in terms of inhalation in deliberate hypogastric breathing ("danjeon') and rhythms of exhalation (gutgeori, jajinmori, huimori). Also, the research aims to enhance dramatic effect on the stage, which is distinguished from presentation of ordinary actions, by emphasizing dimension of time and space in visualizing expression.

  • A semiotic approach to modern visual arts has emerged since French post-structuralism was introduced to Anglo -American academics by "deconstruction" or "postmodernism." It views a work of art as a sign, which is its methodical assumption ana at the same time makes its application more accessible In the milieu of modern visual arts'effort to be intimate to with general audience, modern art photography is now faced with the request to be a familar and universal domain instead of being left only in photo books as artistic and academic achievements More specifically, various photo images 1mm such visual media as newspapers TVs, and computer graphics to such megaexhibitions as "Gwangju Biennale," "Media City Seoul," and "Pusan International Art Festival," are main objects of s030y. A coherent and scientific analysis of visual semitotics is still on the way; however, it is an urgent task how to read and interpret a photo image with multiple meanings This study argues that visual semiotics can be a powerful tool to enhance the understanding of art photography.   • In this study, we consider the evolved interactivity at the Artificial Life Art beyond 'open interactivity' as 'closed relationship' between viewer/participant and artwork by immersive and interactive features of digital media art. In order to consider this evolved interactivity, we survey the theory of artificial life of which result of many studies like biology and computational science. And then we analysed characteristics related artistic context of artificial life at the autonomy and emergent behavior of artificial life. Especially, we research the artworks of interaction with ecologies and of living in outside(not in- silico) among the artworks of officially adopting an artificial life arts in 'VIDA : Art and Artificial Life International Awards'. And we are going to understand the relationship of emotional subjects between viewer/participant and artwork, and a step further to understand the diverse relationship of symbiosis and co-evolution of the technology and human.

  • Recently 'convergence' and 'communication' have been keywords in many areas. Artists and engineers have begun to communicate each other through collaboration based on new technologies. One of the exemplary technologies of this era of convergence is a technology of fusing five senses used by both Internet Art and industrial technologies such as car navigation systems and the iPhone. Sommerer and Mignonneau's Internet Art $\ll$Riding the Net$\gg$,$\ll$The Living Room$\gg$, and $\ll$The Living Web$\gg$ implement the Internet and the five-sense fusion technology to translate not only sound into visual images but also tactile senses into tempo-spatial representations. Likewise, industrial technologies such as car navigation systems and the iPhone employ the five-sense fusion technology of speech recognition, which leads to the expansion of the realm of senses in technology as seen in Internet Art. As examined in this study, the development of art and technology through their convergence will open up a new dimension of digital art and culture technology industry.

Case analysis of educational program of museum using online contents -Focusing on Jenkin's new media literacy- (온라인 콘텐츠를 활용한 미술관 교육 프로그램 사례 분석 -젠킨스의 뉴미디어리터러시로-)

  • This study analyzed the cases of online art museum education based on the core competency of Jenkins' new media literacy to supplement the limitations of online art museum education programs. The core competency of media education suggested by Jenkins can serve as a reference point for an online art museum content. For the case analysis, 4 museums were selected as the domestic art museum, and 4 as the overseas art museum. The results of analysis based on new media literacy are as follows. In the case of overseas art museums, content for mutual communication such as video conferencing and commenting at the bottom of the site page was constructed, but domestic online art museums lacked these elements. Therefore, there is a need to improve core competency of appropriation, networking, negotiation, distributed cognition, and collective intelligence by organizing communication content.

  • New media art moves out of place and time constraints, sublimates the benefits of technology into art, and presents a new way of communication with the audience. This paper analyses the tendency of nonverbal communication methods by analysing examples of facial expressions and sound used in new media art from early times. As a result, it can be seen that the digital paradigm in the new media art has a nonlinear thinking, which makes a perceptual reduction of immersion and dispersion. The facial expression in new media art made it possible not only to overcome the limit of space and time of various expressions through 'visual distortions, enlargement, and virtualisation', but also to enable new ways of communication to display facial parts combined or separated in the digital environment. The sound in new media art does not stay in auditory sense, but pursues multi-sensory and synesthesia by cooperating with visual and tactile, evolves by revealing characteristics of space expansion and sensibility and interaction of audience.

  • Recently, with the development of new technology, media arts in public places have been installed in various forms. Especially, the installation of media arts at the airport is increasing, and it is time to study this. Therefore, this study investigated cases of media art at Incheon International Airport and suggested improvement direction. As a result of analyzing the case of media art in Incheon Airport is follows. First, the airport media art in the future should develop an interactive work that more audience can participate and provide pleasant experience. Second, the contents of the airport media art should be produced not only in various kinds but also as contents representative of the country. Third, it should be produced as a content that can convey the characteristics and images of the country in a storytelling format rather than a short and simple media art collection.

  • This study will attempt to analyze media art and discuss its main characteristics by using the concept based on Relational Aesthetics 'Affective Turn' as a basis of the theory. In addition, this study has some theoretical and practical implications, both in terms of the research and analysis of artworks and the structure development of art theories and aesthetics. To conduct the research, I have gone through a literature review on previous studies related to media art and Relational Aesthetics. Then, I have conducted a case study on the media art of TeamLab. This study shows that from the perspective of Relational Aesthetics, media art shows unique characteristics such as borderless and shareability. Moreover, it can allow the audience to actually 'feel' the relationship and integration between various objects. I hopethat this research could be used as a solid basis for future research and helpstrengthen the interaction between modern art and the public.

  • The change in 21st century imaging media technology is changing our modern visual system. Virtual reality HMD devices, one of the core technologies of 5G, reproduce the new visual system. However, there is a lack of analysis and understanding of the visual operating system to understand the visual system of the fast-changing variety of imaging media. This study analyzed the three visual systems appearing in the recent imaging media art area and presented an engineering perspective algorithm for its procedures and methods. Through these results, we want to build algorithms that understand the visual system of virtual reality HMD devices.
