  • As software and artificial intelligence education became more and more important, in December 2019, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced plans to expand software and AI education to mandatory education in elementary and secondary schools by 2022. In addition to elementary and secondary schools, most universities are actively engaged in software education for computer non-majors, but research on coding education for computer non-majors is insufficient. The purpose of this paper is to find an efficient teaching and learning method for coding education for computer non-majors. Nowadays, college students, called Millennial and Generation Z, prefer visual information and are familiar with computers as digital natives. Based on these characteristics, this study examined the visual literacy and thinking styles of college students and then examined whether the students' visual literacy and thinking styles influenced coding-based problem solving in coding subjects. Based on this, this paper proposes an alternative to do programming education more efficiently for students who are new to coding.

The other is a way of process with a computer drawing, or modeling of objects. It is appropriate to the production of pictorial and surreal images. Digital images, produced by the other, can be divided into the form of Pixel' and form of Vector'. Vector is a line linking the point of departure to the point of end, which organizes informations. Computer stores each line's standard location and correlative locations to one another Digital image shows for more 'Perfectness' than any other visual media. Digital image has been evolving in the diverse aspects, such as a production of geometrical or organic image compositing, interactive art, multimedia art, or web art, which has been applied a computer as an extended trot of painting. Someone often interprets digitalized copy with endless reproduction of original even as an extension of a print. Visual af is no longer a simple activity of representation by a painter or sculptor, but now is intimately associated with a matter of application of media. There is some problem in images via visual media. First, the image via media doesn't reflect a reality as it is, but reflects an artificial manipulated world, that is, a virtual reality. Second, the introduction of digital effect and the development of image processing technology have enhanced a spectacle of destructive and violent scenes. Third, a child intends to recognize the interactive images of computer game and virtual reality as a reality, or truth. Education needs not only to point out an ill effect of mass media and prevent the younger generation from being damaged by it, but also to offer a knowledge and know-how to cope actively with social, cultural circumstances. This is a way to lead an individual to the discerning, active consumer and producer of visual media in life as far as possible. The elements of 'Visual Literacy' can be divided into a faculty of recognition related to the visual media, a faculty of critical reception, a faculty of appropriate application, a faculty of active work and a faculty of creative modeling, which are promoted at the same time by the education of 'visual literacy'. In conclusion, the education of 'Visual Literacy' guides students to comprehend and discriminate the visual image media carefully, or receive them critically, apply them properly, or produce them creatively and voluntarily. Moreover, it leads to an artistic activity by means of new media. This education can be approached and enhanced by the connection and integration with real life. Visual arts and education of them play an important role in the digital era depended on visual communications via image information. Visual me야a of day functions as an essential element both in daily life and in arts. Students can soundly understand visual phenomena of today by means of visual media, and apply it as an expression tool of life culture as well. Educational contents should be extended to the media for visual images, that is, photography, film, television, video, computer graphic, animation, music video, computer game and multimedia. Every media must be separately approached, because they maintain the modes and peculiarities of their own according to the conveyance form of message. The concrete and systematic method of teaching and the quality of education must be researched and developed, centering around the development of a course of study. Teacher's foundational capability of teaching should be cultivated for the visual media education. In this case, it must be paid attention to the fact that a technological level of media is considered as a secondary. Because school education doesn't intend to train expert and skillful producers, but intends to lay stress on the essential aesthetic one with visual media under the social and cultural context, in respect of a consumer including a man of culture.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyse literacy of children from multicultural backgrounds, and identify cognitive-linguistic predictors that can affect their literacy. First, the higher-grade students showed better cognitive-linguistic variables in reading and writing performance. Second, it has been noted that the predictor variable of reading in children from multicultural backgrounds was homeostasis in visual form, which is a sub-variable of visual perception. This implies that detained characteristics play an important role in reading prerequisite. Therefore it can be said that it is more important to recognise features and clues about the details than reading familiar words. Furthermore, learning consonants and vowels should come first rather than studying letters at the first stages of learning Korean.

  • Recently, with an emphasis on software proficiency, universities are providing software education to all students regardless of their majors. However, non-majors often lack motivation for software education and perceive the unfamiliar learning content as more challenging. To address this issue, tailored software education according to the learners' characteristics is essential. Art students, for instance, with their strong visual comprehension and expressive abilities, can benefit from utilizing visual literacy to enhance the effectiveness of programming education. In this study, we propose decomposing everyday problems into flowcharts and pseudocode to construct procedural and visual images. Using the educational programming language PlayBot, we aim to analyze the effectiveness of teaching by coding to solve problems. Through this approach, students are expected to grasp programming concepts, understand problem-solving processes through computational thinking, and acquire skills to apply programming in their respective fields.

  • TV Broadcasting is an undeniable cultural medium. TV Broadcasting Station needs a long-term perspective that suits cultural media and an aggressive cultural and artistic program development strategy that matches rapidly changing culture and technology. Of course, production staff should be composed of experts in the field as well as cultural artists. This paper is researching the promotion strategy of TV Arts programs by substituting the three keywords - the U.S., the public broadcasting station(TV) and Arts programs. And through case studies and analyses of PBS TV's "Art in the 21st Century" series, the way the public TV broadcasting station shares cultural arts with viewers is extracted. It raises the question of how the U.S. TV public broadcaster's cultural and artistic programs are different from South KOREA's. Through the above research, let's find a clue to the future direction of how the new media, now represented as Korea's blacklist, should recognize, foster, educate and strategize Fine Arts.

  • This study predicts the paradigm shift that the development of artificial intelligence technology will bring to the production of music content, and suggests that works created through collaboration between artificial intelligence and humans can have artistic value as finished products. Anyone can easily produce music content using artificial intelligence composition programs, and it has become an opportunity to inspire artists with various attempts and creative ideas. Although artificial intelligence technology provides convenience in human life and benefits a lot in the efficient aspect of work, it is difficult to escape the perception of data-based pattern music in the art field so far. Pattern music with many quantitative elements is not recognized as a complete creation due to the absence of abstract symbolism or meaning pursued by art. However, it predicts that if qualitative elements such as emotions and creativity are given to artificial intelligence music through human collaboration, it can be recognized as a complete work of art. The development of artificial intelligence technology increases access to culture and art from the public, and it can be expected that anyone can enjoy it as well as aesthetic experiences. In addition, various contents can be produced by improving individual digital literacy, and it is an opportunity to share and communicate with others. As such, artificial intelligence technology serves as a medium connecting the public with culture and art, and is narrowing the gap between humans and technology through art activities. Along with this cultural phenomenon, we predict the possibility of research on the production of artificial intelligence music contents with artistic value and the development of various convergence and complex art contents using artificial intelligence technology in the future.
