  • This paper presents a novel scheme that quickly searches for the sweet spot of multiple array antennas, and locks on to it for high-speed millimeter wavelength transmissions, when communications to another antenna array are disconnected. The proposed method utilizes a modified genetic algorithm, which selects a superior initial group through preprocessing in order to solve the local solution in agenetic algorithm. TDD (Time Division Duplex) is utilized as the transfer method and data controller for the antenna. Once the initial communication is completed for the specific number of individuals, no longer antenna's data will be transmitted until each station processes GA in order to produce the next generation. After reproduction, individuals of the next generation become the data, and communication between each station is made again. Simulation results of 1:1, 1:2, 1:5 array antennas confirmed the efficiency of the proposed method. The 16bit split is 8bit, but it has similar performance as 16bit gene.

  • A telemetry signal occurs the line-of-sight problem by the effect of geography in flight test. A fixed relay system or a mobile relay system is used to solve that problem in general but we propose an airborne telemetry relay system using aircraft in this paper. An airborne telemetry relay system receives the telemetry signal of the test vehicle and then retransmits it to the ground system. The receiving antenna which is a phased array antenna can be tilted to ${\pm}30^{\circ}$ beam direction by beam-forming and track the rapidly moving test vehicle in effect. The relay pod which is mounted to an aircraft consists of the front antenna and the side antenna. It receives S-band signal and then down-converts the frequency to L-band signal. As a result, that can remove the frequency interference on an aircraft while retransmitting.

  • In this paper, an array antenna for LOS datalink for mounting UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) of low-probability of intercept is presented. For low RCS, radome was designed by conformal form, and other components were inserted into the UAV. The antenna of the transmitter and receiver are each composed of 12×12 array antennas, and include a beam steering function by controlling the phase of the unit element for the Uni-directional pattern and the Bi-directional pattern. As a result of the measurement of the manufactured antenna, it was confirmed that all the required specifications were met, and the installing possibility of the UAV platform on low-probability of intercept in the future was confirmed.

  • In this papar, we have proposed a small electronically steerable parasitic array radiator with 180 degree azimuth beam coverage and high gain characteristics. The proposed antenna is composed of a uniplanar Yagi dipole as a feeding element and two dipoles as parasitic elements. The fabricated antenna is tested by electronically changing the reactance loaded on the parasitic dipoles and the results show that it has 5.2dB~6.7dB gain in $-90^{\circ}{\sim}90^{\circ}$wide azimuth range and -10dB return loss characteristics within 5.725GHz~5.825GHz UNII band.

  • In this paper, the dipole-fed planar array antenna applied Yagi-Uda antenna away theory to microstrip antenna is designed and fabricated at X-band. The design procedure of the dipole-fed planar array antenna with the wide bandwidth is presented to be easily practiced to a wireless communication system. The radiation pattern, return loss and bandwidth of the antenna are improved by the finite differential time domain(FDTD) numerical method. The propriety of analysis of planar dipole antenna is proved from the measured data. From the measured results, the antenna maximum gain is 4.9dBi at center frequency of 10GHz and frequency bandwidth is about 40%. Front-to-back ratio is 16dB, and half-power beam-width of E-plane and H-plane are 117$^{\circ}$and 156$^{\circ}$, respectively. When VSWR of antenna is less than 2, the measured results are agreed well with the theoretical values in the frequency range from 7.4GHz to 11.88GHz.

  • In this study, the system level network simulation is considered with adaptive array antenna in CDMA mobile communication system. A network simulation framework is implemented based on IS-95A/B system to consider dynamic handoff, system level network behavior, and deploying strategy into the overall CDMA mobile communication network under adaptive array algorithm. Its simulation model, such as vector channel model, adaptive beam forming antenna model, handoff model, and power control model, are described in detail with simulation block. In order to maximize SINR of received signal at antenna, maximin algorithm is particularly considered, and it is computed at each simulation snap shot with SINR based power control and handoff algorithm. Graphic user interface in this system level network simulator is also implemented to define the simulation environments and to represent simulation results on real mapping system. This paper also shows some features of simulation framework and simulation results.

  • In this paper, we proposed a continuously variable true time-delay for transmit linear phased-array antenna sing chirped fiber gratings(CFGs) and a tunable laser source. Average group delay-slope of the CFG was treasured to be 177 ps/nm at L-, S-, and X-band. Simulation results show that the maximum gain of the transmit linear phased-array antenna with the beam steering angle of 180$^{\circ}$ is 11.6 dB at 10 GHz.

  • In this letter, we propose a novel design scheme for an optimal non-uniform planar array geometry in view of maximum side-lobe reduction. This is implemented by a thinned array using a genetic algorithm. We show that the proposed method can maintain a low side-lobe level without pattern distortion during beam steering.

  • This paper presents an efficient receive beam structure able to search and track the simultaneous bundle targets with the active electrically scanned array radar. One of the characteristic with the active phased array radar is to point toward wanted direction and to forming simultaneously the digital multi-beam. This paper proposes method to detect and track rapidly bundle targets coming to radar using the digital beam forming. The proposed the beam forming method in the paper is evaluated about the angle accuracy of targets via a computer simulation.
