In this paper, we proposed a Proactive Application Service Engine (PASE) supporting tailor-made distributed application services based on the Distributed Object Group Framework (DOGF) efficiently managing distributed objects, in the viewpoint of distributed application, composed application on network. The PASE consists of 3 layers which are the physical layer, the middleware layer, and the application layer. With the supporting services of the PASE, the grouping service manages the data gathered from H/W devices and the object's properties for application by user's request as a group. And the security service manages the access of gathered data and the object according to user's right. The data filtering service executes the filtering function to provide application with gathered data. The statistics service analysis past data. The diagnostic service diagnoses a present condition by using the gathered data. And the prediction service predicts a future's status based on the statistics service and the diagnostic service. For verifying the executability of the PASE's services, we applied to a greenhouse automatic control application in ubiquitous agriculture field.
There have been dramatic technology changes in telecommunication sector during last two decades. New application services like the introduction of international mobile services, fiber optical home services and satellite personal services are expected to play a major role in the whole field of telecommunication services. In the users' viewpoint, the proper selection and the efficient application of the specific telecommunication service among the various alternatives at hand are recognized as principle means for ensuring the whole business competitiveness. Despite the definite need for the telecommunication service selection strategies, very few researches have been reported in this field. In this paper, attempts are made to identify the companies' decision factors considered in selecting the telecommunication services, to draw the strategic dimensions and categorize each company with respect to the identified dimensions, and to finally find the characteristics of each strategic group in selecting the telecommunication service.
In ubiquitous computing environments, users want to receive the robot services regardless of various physical status or devices such as time, place, various sensors, and high-performance servers. Thus, the ubiquitous service robots have to provide users with automated services according to situational information that they properly recognize. Beyond these problems, robot software has to establish a foundation to support the functions with the network infrastructure that are not able to be solved by a single independent resource. On the basis of a robot middleware that is capable of minimizing dependencies among hierarchy structures, the robot software also has to provide execution environment to control the flow of robot application services. In this paper, we propose a layered architecture to provide users with automated services through ubiquitous robots. The proposed architecture is based on CAWL (Context-Aware Workflow Language) and RSEL (Robot Services Execution Language). CAWL easily represents the flow of robot services from user application service levels, and RSEL is able to support the composition and reusability of robot services through abstraction of robot device services. In our experiments, we applied the proposed architecture to an example of "booth guide robot service".
According to the rapid increasement of web usage, an appropriate model which supports systematically the web-based application-to-application interactions and the approach which can integrate the new distributed computing platform and the existing environments have been investigated. The web services has emerged as the solution to these needs. This paper describes the background of the emergence of the web services and the definition and characteristics of web services. Then, after explaining the operation mechanism of web services, the core techniques which are essential to implement the web services and the implementation cases are examined. Lastly, the future of web services has been mentioned.

Recently, the application of internet services has been realized by effort for an offer of various informations and personalization services. So in this paper, we propose the web service application model for service integration and personalization based on internet multimedia subsystems. For this services integration and personalization, we need to establish a policy of supporting personalization service. And It's required to analyze information of service users and to extract the components for the personalization services. With the process, It will provide the efficient integration between the exist services and the external services and It can be realized detail services for personal with construction of new services model.

This paper describes a C-API (Cryptographic-Application program Interface) mechanism that can serve cryptographic service to one or more application programmers in an open distributed computing system. Generic cryptographic service, provides application Programmers with cryptographic algorithms and interfaces which can be shared so that the programmers can program distributed applications containing security services even though they have no detailed knowledge of cryptographic algorithms. Therefore, in this paper, a generic C-API mechanism is designed that can be used independently from various application environments and basic system structures so that programmers can use it commonly. This mechanism has the advantage that allows application programmers be able to use some cryptographic services and key management services not considering of the application program and operating system.

Important network application services have been rapidly increased along with the growth of the Internet. So, it is desirable for such applications to serve transparently, continuously and safely even if the network is temporally disconnected or certain hosts running those services are crashed down. To satisfy such requirementes, many group communication systems have been developed; but, those systems restrict its range within a single LAN or directly interconnected LAN environments since the communication through the Internet is too slow and too unreliable to support group communication. As of now, it is expected the Internet is going to e sufficiently fast and reliable in the near communication system, named FACE(Java Advanced Communication Environment), supporting Extended Virtual which is a basic communication layer, RPGS(Reliable Process Group Service) which manages application process groups, and JACE API for developing Java application services and clients programs. In addition, an experimental replicated object space is developed as an application of the JACE system.
Working in a hazardous environment can decrease work efficiency and cause a variety of occupational diseases. To prevent occupational accidents and build a refreshing and pleasant work environment, therefore, it is necessary to develop an application system through which a worker's safety can be monitored on a realtime basis and provide related services. Recently, smartphones have become very popular across the nation, with over 10 million users. As a result, a variety of application services have been developed and provided in diverse sectors. This study proposes a system structure to develop application services which monitor work environment using smartphones and examines its applicability through the implementation of server and client interfaces.
This paper presents the application draft of ancillary services for Korean Wholesale Electricity Market. This application draft of ancillary services is based on technical rules for ancillary services agreements prepared by KEMA and the present conditions of KEPCO system operations and future directions.
Because thin-client technology is introduction stage, some company has many problems. To reduce the problems, this paper presents the application areas and the introduction strategy of thin-client technology.
