  • It is the purpose of this study that propose method to estimate weights of decision-making for design concepts considering characteristics of places. In order to acquire these weights of concepts, the investigation with questionnaire by AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is employed as a mean. Targets of this investigation was 63 respondents which were graduate students(21) and experts of design field(42). As a result, we could find differences between these weights of the relative concepts and know the differences in the weights of design concepts as characteristics of places were reflected. These weights of concepts will be take opinions about concept from design-related members into consideration. Therefore, In design process, the weights of design concepts will help for designer to verify the concepts in design initially, and finally be used by a criteria in decision-making. The Weights of decision-making for design concepts as a result of this study will be used as a guideline for the systematical and conceptual approach in design practice.

  • In this work, we propose an analytic framework for dimensioning the link capacity of broadband access networks which provide universal broadband access services to a diverse kind of customers such as patient and impatient customers. The proposed framework takes into account the flow-level quality of service (QoS) of a connection as well as the packet-level QoS, via which a simple and systematic provisioning and operation of the network are provided. To that purpose, we first discuss the necessity of flow-aware network dimensioning by reviewing the networking technologies of the current and future access network. Next, we propose an analytic model for dimensioning the link capacity for an access node of broadband convergence networks which takes into account both the flow and packet level QoS requirements. By carrying out extensive numerical experiment for the proposed model assuming typical parameters that represent real network environment, the validity of the proposed method is assessed.

  • In this study, the change of concrete temperature, strain and thermal stress were measured by using the embedded type concrete gauges in tendon gallery wall of containment building. A finite element analysis was performed to clarify the thermal behavior of concrete. The analytic and test results were investigated to improve the validity of analytic method. According to the test results, concrete temperature, strain and thermal stress were strongly affected by measuring point and environment condition of member. And the thermal stress was developed in the member which was not demoulded at early ages. This is caused by the change of internal temperature and restrained condition. A finite element effectively interpreted the test results by estimating the concrete properties and the site condition.

  • In this paper, the eigenvalue sensitivity of vehicle powertrain was investigated by analytic method. The powertrain system was considered as a rigid body with multiple engine mounts, and the engine mounts were supposed as three linear springs in three orthogonal directions. The design parameters for the sensitivity analysis were engine mount properties (positions, stiffness, and orientations) and powertrain properties (mass, second moment of inertia, and center of gravity). Firstly, an effective form of eigenvalue problem for the powertrain system was introduced. Then, the analytic sensitivity of eigenvalue was derived using the equation. Lastly, the derived sensitivity equation was applied to a real powertrain system to provide its correctness and applicability.

  • A novel concept for the analysis of planar devices with a field limiting ring(FLR) is presented which allows analytic expressions in a normalized form for the potential distributions of FLR structure. Based on the method of image charges the main and ring junctions with identical cylindrical edges are kept to be two different equipotential surfaces. The potential relations between main and ring junction of the FLR structure are compared with 2-dimensional device simulation program. MEDICI. A good accordance is found. Comparisions with experimental data reported for the optimum ring spacing and the relative improvement of the breakdowm voltages in the FLR sturcture show the validity of the concept. The normalized expressions allow a universal application regardless to the junction depths and background doping levels.

  • There are many difficulties to get the scattered field generated by obstacle which has arbitrary shape or irregular surface impedance by using analytic solution or numerical methods. In this study, we propose experimental method of acoustic scattering holography that can predict the far-field scattered field based on nearfield measurements. First of all, we express scattered field using K-H integral equation and compare the differences of which green's function we use. Also we consider analytic solution of scattered field by infinite cylinder to analysis for the errors due to apply cylinderical holography. So the errors which caused by holography due to frequency (ka) and microphone spacing are also analyzed by numerical simulation.

  • This paper has shown that the impulse and the unit step responses of 2nd-order systems can be computed by an analytic method. Three different 2nd-order systems are investigated: the prototype system, the system with one LHP(left half plane) real zero and the system with one RHP(right half plane) real zero. It has also shown that the effects of the LHP or the RHP zero are very serious when the zero is getting closer to the origin on the complex plane. Based on these analytic results, this paper has presented two sufficient and necessary conditions for 2nd-order linear SISO(single-input/single-output) stable systems to have the nonovershooting and the monotone nondecreasing step response, respectively. The latter condition can be extended to the sufficient conditions for the monotone nondecreasing step response of high-order systems.

  • Three-dimensional simulator for thermal oxidation process is developed. The simulator is consisted by two individual module, one is analytic-model module and the other is numerical-model module. The analytic-model which uses simple complementary-error function guarantees fast calculation in prediction of multi-dimensional oxidation process. The numerical-model which is based on boundary element method (BEM), has a good accuracy and suitable for various process conditions. The results of this study show that oxide growth is retarded at the corner of hole structure and enhanced at the corner of island structure. These effects are reson of different distribution of oxidant diffusion and mask stress. The utility of models and simulator developed in this study is demonstrated by using it to predict not only traditional shape of LOCOS but also process effects in small geometry.

  • The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been applied widely in various decision making fields. One of advantages of the AHP is the consistency test. However, it has several problems such as the limit of its concept, the limit of 9 scales and stern criteria, contradictory pairwise comparison. In this paper, we propose new criteria for the consistency with more realistic and ideal conditions. To derive the criteria, we conduct the simulation and use the bootstrap method, which is one of resampling techniques in the simulation area.

  • This paper presents an improved method of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) when customers are to select the best automobile purchase models. In order to support group decisions and as a different procedure of the conventional AHP, we combine the AHP model with a spreadsheet model that applies the Likert's rating scheme to each alternative. We only consider individual pairwise comparison matrices where the consistency ratio (C.R.) is less than or equal to 0.2. Finally, we regard the weight of each decision maker as a reciprocal number of C.R. As a case study we prioritize three passenger cars of medium size in the domestic market. The major evaluation criteria include:exterior or interior features, performance, safety, pricing, salesman, and after service.
