The Effect of Clothing Involvement and Loyalty Orientation on the Information Search Behavior (의복관여도와 충성성향이 정보탐색 활동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of clothing involvement, store and brand loyalty orientation on the information search behavior. The study subjects comprised 298 females living in Seoul and Kyung-gi area. The data were analyzed with factor analysis, regression, cluster analysis, ANOVA and correlation analysis. Clothing involvement and information search behavior consisted of various factors. Clothing involvement, store and brand loyalty influenced information search behavior. Fashion and clothing involvement was the most important factor which influenced all loyalty and information search behavior(i.e. brand and store loyalty, personal and nonpersonal information search behavior). According to store and brand loyalty factors, female consumers classified into three groups : low loyalty, brand loyalty and store loyalty group. Three groups showed different clothing involvement, information search, clothing purchasing behavior and demographic variables. Therefore, loyalty orientation is the important factor which can describe the consumer behavior more effectively.

Effects of target types and retinal eccentricity on visual search (시각탐색에서 표적 유형과 망막 이심율 효과)

  • Two experiments were conducted to investigate effects of target types and retinal eccentricity on the search of a target while both target and background stimuli were static or moving. A visual search task was used in both experiments. The retinal eccentricity was determined by five concentric circles increasing by the unit of 1.6 and the target was different from the background stimuli in either orientation(orientation target) or a distinctive feature(feature target). In Experiment 1 where both the target and background stimuli were presented statically, an interaction between retinal eccentricity arid target type was found. While search time of the orientation target was not affected by the retinal eccentricity, that of the feature target increased as the retinal eccentricity increased. In Experiment 2 where all stimuli were moving, the interaction effect was also found. But the reason was not the same as that in Experiment 1. In the moving condition, while the search time of the orientation target decreased consistently as the retinal eccentricity increased, that of the feature target was not affected by the retinal eccentricity. The implications and limitations of the present results were discussed with respects to the real world situations such as driving cars or flying airplanes.

The Effects of Mastery Goal Orientation and Time Management Ability on Job Search Self-Efficacy in the Vocational Education of Engineering College Students (이공계 대학생의 직업교육에서 숙달목적지향성과 시간관리능력이 직업탐색효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of mastery goal orientation and time management ability on job search self-efficacy in the vocational education of engineering college students. A total of 52 samples were analyzed for this research. The result indicated that mastery goal orientation had positive effects on all sub-variables (job ability self-efficacy, career goal setting self-efficacy) of job search self-efficacy significantly. But time management ability had positive effects on career goal setting self-efficacy. And there are no significant differences in mean comparison of mastery goal orientation, time management ability, and job search self-efficacy according to gender and residence area. In addition, the interview results of engineering college students' perception of career, the understanding of vocational education, and job search self-efficacy were analyzed.

3D-QSAR Studies of 2-Arylbenzoxazoles as Novel Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein Inhibitors

  • The 3D-QSAR study of 2-arylbenzoxazoles as novel cholesteryl ester transfer protein inhibitors was performed by comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA), CoMFA region focusing (CoMFA-RF) for optimizing the region for the final PLS analysis, and comparative molecular similarity indices analysis (CoMSIA) methods to determine the factors required for the activity of these compounds. The best orientation was searched by all-orientation search strategy using AOS, to minimize the effect of the initial orientation of the structures. The predictive ability of CoMFARF and CoMSIA were determined using a test set of twelve compounds giving predictive correlation coefficients of 0.886, and 0.754 respectively indicating good predictive power. Further, the robustness and sensitivity to chance correlation of the models were verified by bootstrapping and progressive scrambling analyses respectively. Based upon the information derived from CoMFA(RF) and CoMSIA, identified some key features that may be used to design new inhibitors for cholesteryl ester transfer protein.

A Study on the Decision-Making Styles and the Related Variables in the Apparel Purchase of Female Adolescents (여자 중.고등학생의 의복구매 의사결정 유형과 관련변인연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to 1) segment female adolescent consumers into consumer groups displaying different consumer decision-making styles 2) to determine the consumer characteristics(clothing involvement information search store patronage and demographic variables) that related to each consumer segment and 3) to identify the interrelationship between the consumer characteristics. Decision-making styles were measured by 32 seven-point Likert type scales adapted from Sproles & Kendall and Shim & Kot A total of 78 statements dealing with three aspects of consumer characteristics was adapted from previous research. Data were collected from 567 2nd grade female middle and high school students in Seoul via self-administered questionnaires. and were analysed by frequency factor analysis ANOVA cluster analysis χ2 -test and Duncan's multiple range test. The results of this study were as follows: As a results of cluster analysis and ANOVA on seven factors of desion-making styles(1. brand-consiousness 2. novelty/fashion-consciousness 3. recreational/hedonis-tic orientation, 4. impulsive/carelessness, 5. price-consciousness/value-for-money, 6. perfectionism/high quality orientation 7. habitual/brand-royal consciousness) three consumer groups were identified and labeled as puality-oriented/non-utlitarian shoppers price-oriented shoppers and apathetic shoppers. Quality-oriented/non-utilitarian shoppers showed the highest clothing involvement scores of all aspects the highest consumer knowledge/experience most active ongoing information search and prepurchase information search. They preferred department store and franchise store for apparel shopping and considered service/reliability atmosphere variety of goods as important store attributes, Price-oriented shoppers showed prepurchase information search and planned purchase behavior actively. They preferred factory outlet store specialty stre and considered price very important as store attributes. Apathetic shoppers showed the lowest scores of all aspects of clothing involvement and most passive behavior in information search activities except showing the highest planned purchase. They preferred regional markets.

Docking, CoMFA and CoMSIA Studies of a Series of N-Benzoylated Phenoxazines and Phenothiazines Derivatives as Antiproliferative Agents

  • Using generated conformations from docking analysis by Gold algorithm, some 3D-QSAR models; CoMFA and CoMSIA have been created on 39 N-benzoylated phenoxazines and phenothiazines, including their S-oxidized analogues. These molecules inhibit the polymerization of tubulin into microtubules and thus they have been studied for the development of antitumor drugs. Training set for the CoMFA and CoMSIA models using 30 docked conformations gives $q^2$ Leave one out (LOO) values of 0.756 and 0.617, and $r^2$ ncv values of 0.988 and 0.956, respectively. The ability of prediction and robustness of the models were evaluated by test set, cross validation (leave-one-out and leave-ten-out), bootstrapping, and progressive scrambling approaches. The all-orientation search (AOS) was used to achieve the best orientation to minimize the effect of initial orientation of the structures. The docking results confirmed CoMFA and CoMSIA contour maps. The docking and 3D-QSAR studies were thoroughly interpreted and discussed and confirmed the experimental $pIC_{50}$ values.

Optimal Path Planning of Mobile Robot for Multiple Moving Obstacles (복수의 동적 장애물에 대한 이동로봇의 최적경로설계)

  • The most important thing for navigation of a mobile robot is to find the most suitable path and avoid the obstacles in the static and dynamic environment. This paper presents a method to search the optimal path in start space extended to time domain with considering a velocity and a direction of moving obstacles. A modified version of $A^*$ algorithm has been applied for path planning in this work and proposed a method of path search to avoid a collision with moving obstacle in space-tim domain with a velocity and an orientation of obstacles. The velocity and the direction for moving obstacle are assumed as linear form. The simulation result shows that a mobile robot navigates safely among moving obstacles of constant linear velocity. This work can be applied for not only a moving robot but also a legged humanoid robot and all fields where the path planning is required.

Impacts of Fashion Curation Users' Shopping Orientation, Usage Motives and Preferred Image Types on Fashion Product Purchase Intentions (패션 큐레이션 서비스 이용자의 쇼핑성향, 이용동기 및 선호 이미지 유형이 패션제품 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This research shows how fashion curation service consumers (both fashion and image consultants) reveal different aspects towards a preferred image type among the correlation of fashion curation service usage motivation and fashion shopping propensity. These preferences also included the purchase intentions for fashion display service products. This study surveyed 300 men and women between the ages of 20-30 who were the main consumers of fashion curation services. 'Convenience, fashion trend, and exploratory' increased purchase intentions for fashion shopping propensity, 'information search for utility, entertainment, and personal expression' increased purchase intentions for fashion curation services and 'brand identity, consumer lifestyle, and product information' increased factors for the fashion curation service preferred image type. Consumer preferences varied according to different fashion curation service image type; however, all consumer group syndicated a difference in fashion curation service actions. For instance, fashion curation service consumers preferred a consumer lifestyle image, convenience, hedonic shopping orientation, and personal expression motivation had a positive influence on product purchase intention. However, the shopping orientation of 'fashion trend, practical information exploration, and entertainment motivation' had an optimistic influence on product purchase intentions for fashion curation service consumers who preferred a brand identity image and a product information image.

Exploration of the Path Model among Goal Orientation, Self-efficacy, Achievement Need, Entity Theory of Intelligence, Learning Strategy, and Self-handicapping Tendency in Chemistry Education (화학교육의 목표지향성, 자기효능감, 성취욕구, 지능신념, 자기핸디캡경향 및 학습전략 간의 경로모형 탐색)

  • This study is to search an optimal model on causal relationships of the motivations to learn and motivation strategy in chemistry education. The participants in this study are consisted of G and I high schools students (487) in Gwangju. They all answered to the questionnaire. Model I is hypothesized to be path model of the mediation between 'self-efficacy, achievement need, and entity theory of intelligence' and 'learning strategy and self-handicapping tendency of motivation strategy' by goal orientation to explore variables of study effecting the motivation strategy. And Model II is hypothesized path model of the mediation between goal orientation and 'learning strategy and self-handicapping tendency' by 'self-efficacy, achievement need, and entity theory' to explore variables of study effecting the motivation strategy. Based on these models, structural equation modeling techniques are used to evaluate for the path model among goal orientation(learning, performance approach, and performance approach goal orientation), self-efficacy, achievement need, entity theory of intelligence, self-handicapping tendency, and learning strategy in chemistry education. As the results, Model II is considered. Goodness-of-fit indexes of this model related modification models are identified and analyzed in phases. A Korean Document Sentiment Classification System based on Semantic Properties of Sentiment Words (감정 단어의 의미적 특성을 반영한 한국어 문서 감정분류 시스템)

  • This paper proposes how to improve performance of the Korean document sentiment-classification system using semantic properties of the sentiment words. A sentiment word means a word with sentiment, and sentiment features are defined by a set of the sentiment words which are important lexical resource for the sentiment classification. Sentiment feature represents different sentiment intensity in general field and in specific domain. In general field, we can estimate the sentiment intensity using a snippet from a search engine, while in specific domain, training data can be used for this estimation. When the sentiment intensity of the sentiment features are estimated, it is called semantic orientation and is used to estimate the sentiment intensity of the sentences in the text documents. After estimating sentiment intensity of the sentences, we apply that to the weights of sentiment features. In this paper, we evaluate our system in three different cases such as general, domain-specific, and general/domain-specific semantic orientation using support vector machine. Our experimental results show the improved performance in all cases, and, especially in general/domain-specific semantic orientation, our proposed method performs 3.1% better than a baseline system indexed by only content words.
