Gastrectomy is the most common treatment for gastric cancer, but patients often suffer from post-operative side effects. This study describes the clinical effects of HyangSaPyungWiSan on a pateint who suffered from nausea, vomitting, indigestion, headache, abdomen pain, and loss of appetite after his gastrectomy. The patient undewent a gastrectomy due to gastric cancer, and HyangSaPyungWiSan was used to treat all thses symptoms. This study suggests that treatment with HyangSaPyungWiSan is effectious for such aftereffects of gastrectomy as nausea, vomitting, indigestion, headache, abdomen pain, and loss of appetite.

Objectives It is important to care aftereffects of the tuberculosis such as cough and sputum especially for the old. The purpose of this study is to report a case which showed symptoms improvement after treatment with Hyungbangjihwang-tang.Methods To evaluate the results of this treatment, Decrease of cough and sputum was assessed by Visual Analogue Scale(VAS). The patient`s oral intake and body weight were measured.Results The patient who suffered with cough and sputum after tuberculosis developed high fever and pleural effusion of unknown origin. After treatment with western and oriental medicine, high fever and pleural effusion were subsided but cough and sputum got worse and body weight was decreased after high fever and pleural effusion. So we prescribed Hyungbangjihwang-tang and then the symptoms of the patient were improved.Conclusions This study suggests that using Sasang constitutuional medical treatment is effective for Soyangin patient with afftereffects of the tuberculosis such as cough and sputum.

Recently the Supreme Court held that "in cases in which a patient suffering from a mental disorder attempts to commit suicide, fails, and then succeeds in a subsequent attempt, the following circumstances must be present in order to acknowledge reasonable causation between the negligence of the hospital with regards to taking care of the patient and the death of the patient; there must have existed negligence on the part of the hospital with regards to their failure to stop the 1stsuicide attempt, injurious aftereffects must have been caused to the patient by the1stsuicide attempt, and said aftereffects must have been the main cause for the 2nd successful suicide attemtp." This, in effect, lessens the requirements of past holdings of the Supreme Court which held that "to acknowledge reasonable causation between the negligence of the hospital and the patient that commits suicide, the patient must have experienced such severe physical and mental suffering from the previous attempt so that they could not help but choose to commit suicide". The fact that the Supreme Court did not clearly state such changes in their view on this matter should be corrected. Also, the fact that the court only held the hospital liable for damages of less than 50 million won, only calculating damages up to the point when the deceased passed, is inadequate compared to other cases and should be corrected.

Objective : The purpose of this paper is to report the improvements of a patient who has suffered from aftereffects following stroke such as dysgraphia and articulation disorder, which is treated by herbal medication based on Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system. Methods : According to 'Disease Pattern Identification Diagnostic System based on Shanghanlun Provisions', the patient was diagnosed as Taeyang-byung Gyeolhyung and number 138 provision, and was administered Sohamhyung-tang for 90 days. We recorded the progress of improvements based on the patient's statement and documented the patient's writing Results : The patient can write the letters such as U, 2, ㄹ,ㅇ more clearly and become confident on both writing and speaking. Conclusions : This case shows the effects of Sohamhyung-tang on aftereffects following stroke such as dysgraphia and articulation disorder. It was induced according to the 'Disease Pattern Identification Diagnostic System based on Shanghanlun Provisions' so that it suggest a potential interpretation, which is different with it of the text books Herbal Formula Science and Sanghallonjeonghae, on the provision no. 138. Also the usage of Sohamhyung-tang in this case may support the way far from the diagnosis of oriental neurological medicine, which explain the pathology of stroke as fire-heat(火熱), dampness-phlegm(濕痰), static blood(瘀血) and dual deficiency of qi and blood(氣血兩虛).

This paper tries to follow Toni Morrison's postcolonial courses in her novels. In The Bluest Eye, Morrison examines the situation in which the white's values are the standard for the whole society through two little black girls, Pecola and Claudia. In Song of Solomon she recommends emulating Pilate's love and good attitude towards tradition to shape a positive identity for Afro-Americans, which Milkman comes to accept. In Tar Baby, Morrison suggests that Son's and Jadine's ideas, traditional and modern, should be combined. In Beloved, Morrison illustrates one of the ways in which all blacks can escape from their own trauma through Sethe's process of finding her self-worth. In Paradise Morrison shows that the real de-colonial way to overcome the effects of colonization is to create a new paradigm in which everyone is respected regardless of race. In her works, Morrison insists that by remembering and regretting slavery in America, people can overcome its aftereffects and trauma. Racial oppression still exists today, so Morrison will continue her beautiful, powerful and eye-opening work.

In this paper dynamic characteristics were investigated of the perception of a bound image width. Subjective evaluation tests were carried out of the width of a sound image when its presentation region was moved in the horizontal plane. As a result, the sound image width was perceived narrower or wider than the actual presentation region when the sound source width was decreased or increased, respectively. The result obtained shows that a phenomenon which is a kind of auditory motion aftereffects was occurred in the perception of a sound source with changing its width.

Objectives : This study reports a case of Soeumin patients with Herpes zostersMethods : We examined progress of Soeumin Herpes zoster patient's symptoms (skin blisters, pain, insomnia, etc.) and complications when during and after the treatments.Results : Soeumin Herpes zoster patient was diagnosed as Yang Depletion. Yongdamsagan-tang, Sweet BV, were effective for decrease the patient's skin blisters and pain. Soeumin Bojungikgi-tang prevented the patient's aftereffects.Conclusions : Soeumin Herpes zoster patient who had severe pain, blisters, and sleep disorder, was expected high risk of postherpetic neuralgia. But diagnosed Yang Depletion symptomatology and treated with Soeumin Bojungikgi-tang, patient recover completely without sequelae.

A global model of simulator sickness is outlined that suggests the sequence of events leading to the development of simulator aftereffects. The model attempts to link coupling effects of illusory self-motion(vection) and compensatory head sway to the origin of simulator sickness. A pilot study was conducted in support of a rescarch program that will investigate the proposed model. Seven males and four females participated in a 5-min scssion in a fixed-base automobile simulator. Due to restricted sample size, descriptive statistics are presented for measures of simulator sickness, lateral sway velocity (Y-velocity), driving performance, control inpuls, and vection ratings. Although potential trends are discussed, no statistical conclusions can be drawn. Measurement issures for te next phase of reasearch mclude increasing the sensitivity of vection ratings, and examination of the timecourse got development of compensatory sway.

목적 : 본 연구는 치료를 받고 있는 뇌졸중 환자 중 후유증의 유무에 따라 건강관련 삶의질(HRQOL)에 영향을 주는 건강상태의 중요도가 어떻게 달라지는지를 조사하여, 건강 관련 삶의 질 향상 방안을 위한 기초자료로 활용하는데 있다. 연구방법 : 뇌졸중 환자의 후유증 유무에 따라 HRQOL에 영향을 미치는 요인들의 중요도를 분석하기 위하여 국민건강영양조사 제5기의 자료를 활용하여 65세 이상 치료를 받고 있는 뇌졸중 환자 91명을 대상으로 2차 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 : 첫째, 후유증이 있는 뇌졸중 환자의 경우 없는 그룹보다 HRQOL과 주관적 건강상태가 유의하게 낮았으며(p<0.05), 자살 생각이 있을 위험도는 3.64였다. 둘째, 전체 그룹의 경우 주관적(${\beta}=0.39$), 정신적(${\beta}=0.29$), 의학적(${\beta}=0.23$) 건강상태가, 후유증이 있는 그룹의 경우 정신적(${\beta}=0.45$), 주관적(${\beta}=0.36$) 건강상태가, 후유증이 없는 경우 의학적(${\beta}=0.45$), 기능적(${\beta}=0.32$), 정신적(${\beta}=0.25$) 건강상태 순으로 HRQOL에 크게 영향을 주는 요인으로 추출되었다(p<0.05). 결론 : 종합하면 재활치료에 있어 뇌졸중 환자의 HRQOL 향상을 위해서는 후유증이 중증일 경우는 정신적 건강상태에 영향을 미치는 우울과 자살에 대한 조기 발견 및 조기 중재가 중요하며, 후유증이 경증이거나 없는 경우에는 기능적 회복에 초점을 맞추어 진행해야 하고, 후유증 유무와 상관없이 자신의 현 상태를 긍정적으로 받아들일 수 있도록 지속적인 지지를 해준다면 뇌졸중 환자의 기능적 회복과 더불어 HRQOL을 더욱 향상시켜 최종적으로 뇌졸중 환자의 독립적 자립에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

본 연구는 아동·청소년기 근친 성폭력 피해자들이 사건 이후 겪게 되는 다양한 심리적 변화와 현실을 그들의 목소리로 전달하여 새로운 시각을 제공해야 할 필요성과 상담을 통해 삶에 적응하기 위해 노력하는 개인적인 삶의 경험을 현상학적인 접근을 통해서 이해하고 기록하였다. 현상학적 방법론을 통한 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 참여자들은 부모의 정서적인 방치와 가족구성원의 폭력적 행동과 위협, 침묵을 강요하는 과정을 통해 대인관계에 대한 불신감과 낮은 자존감이 형성 되었고 일상생활에서 지속적인 어려움을 겪게 되었다. 둘째, 성폭력 사건에 의한 고통과 후유증은 사건이 알려지는 것에 대한 두려움과 자신에 대한 부정적인 생각, 대인관계의 어려움으로 나타나 현실부적응과 사회활동 회피를 반복하면서 역할의 갈등을 경험하게 하였다. 셋째, 아동·청소년기 근친 성폭력의 후유증은 PTSD를 통해 극단적으로 드러났다. PTSD의 경험은 참여자가 정신과에서 처방받은 약물이나 알코올과 같은 물질에 의존하고 환청과 환각, 망상의 경험으로 외부활동을 더욱 기피하게 하는 요소가 되었다. 넷째, 적응 과정을 통한 변화는 사건에 대한 직면과 분리, 삶에 대한 새로운 시선이다. 적응 프로그램을 진행하면서 과거의 상처로 인해 표현하지 못한 말과 감정을 표현하고, 자신의 삶을 살아가기 위한 목표를 세우고 앞으로 나아가려고 했다. 현실에서의 극복 경험은 참여자에게 자기존중감과 삶에 대한 자신의 능력을 신뢰하는 자기효능감, 건강한 자기조절능력에 대한 믿음을 향상시켰다. 본 연구는 개인의 삶에서 근친 성폭력 트라우마가 새로운 일상의 위기를 통해 재경험되고 각 과정마다 새로운 적응 과정을 반복하는 모델을 제시하는데 의의를 둔다.
