성형태도, 자아존중감, 신체이미지와 의복행동간의 관계 (The Influence of Aesthetic Surgery Attitude, Self-Esteem and Body Image on Clothing Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of aesthetic surgery attitude, self-esteem and body image on clothing behavior. Subjects were 356 female college students in Seoul. The data obtained were analyzed by reliability analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, stepwise multiple regression analysis and t-test. The major results of this study were as follows: First, five factors of aesthetic surgery attitude were identified: risk tolerance of aesthetic surgery, need of aesthetic surgery, image improvement via aesthetic surgery, keeping the secret of aesthetic surgery, and others' expectation of aesthetic surgery. Second, significant relationships were found between body image and clothing behavior, and self-esteem and body-enhancement of clothing. Also, risk tolerance of aesthetic surgery, need of aesthetic surgery, and image improvement via aesthetic surgery had a significant correlation with clothing behavior. Third, the most important variable which affected the aesthetics and body-enhancement of clothing was body image. The entertainer imitation behavior of clothing was influenced by need of aesthetic surgery, body image, keeping the secret of aesthetic surgery, risk tolerance of aesthetic surgery, and image improvement via aesthetic surgery. Preference for luxury goods of clothing was influenced by need of aesthetic surgery and body image. Body-enhancement of clothing was influenced by body image, image improvement via aesthetic surgery, and self-esteem.

의복에서의 조형미와 유행 평가연구 (A Study on Evaluation of Aesthetic Expression and Fashion in the Clothing)

  • The purposes of the study were to efplain the independent influences of Asthetic Expression and Fashion on aesthetic evaluation in the clothing, to examine which in more important aesthetic components such as line/style, color, textile and detail in aesthetic evaluation in the clothing. Data were obtained from 221 female students living in Seoul area by eight photo-graphs of clothed bodies and a questionnaire. The data were analysied by Pearson's correlation, Analysis of valiables, scheffe-test and Regression analysis. The results of the study were as follows; 1. In the aesthetic evaluation of clothing, the $59.30\%$ of the total variance was explained by Aesthetic Expression, the $20.91\%$ of the total variance was explained by Fashion and $59.68\%$ of the total variance were explained by Aesthetic Expression and Fashion. More important variable of aesthetic evaluation was found to be an Aesthetic Expression. 2. Among aesthetic components such as line/style, color, textile and detail in aesthetic evaluation of the clothing, such general aspects as color and line/style were perceived at first and then specific ones like textile and detail.

  • 디자인의 심미적 요인은 물리적, 기능적, 행태적, 경제적 요인에 비해 정량적으로 측정되거나 평가되기가 쉽지 않다. 그렇지만 심미적 요인들은 디자인 조형과정에서 필수적으로 중요한 역할을 한다. 이러한 중요성에도 불구하고 공간의 심미적 가치평가나 심미적 영향 요소들의 상호작용에 관한 연구는 미비한 편이다. 그래서 본 연구는 상업 공간디자인의 시각적 선호도와 지각적-인지적, 감정적 차원의 미적 변수들 사이의 상호관계를 찾아보고자 하였다. 실증 조사의 연구 결과에 따르면, 상업 공간디자인의 선호도에 긍정적 영향을 주는 미적 변수로는 지각적-인지적 차원의 '통일', '질서', '명료성'과 감정적 차원의 '기분 좋은', '편안한'을 들 수 있다. 반면, 선호도에 부정적 영향을 주는 미적 변수로는 지각적-인지적 차원의 '대비', 복잡성', 그리고 명료성의 반대 개념인 '불명료성'과 감정적 차원의 '호기심 있는', '긴장되는'을 들 수 있다.

여대생(女大生)의 성역할(性役割) 정체감(正體感)과 화장(化粧) 행동(行動)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on Sex Role Identity and Makeup Behavior)

  • This objective study were to classify the contents of makeup behavior, to investigate the relationship between makeup behavior and sex role identity, and to examine how the makeup behavior, makeup satisfaction was influenced by sex role identity and demographics. To achieve this, the researchers surveyed 162 women for the ages of 18 through 25. The result of this study are followed. 1) Four factor of makeup behavior were sexual attractiveness, aesthetic, psychological dependence and makeup interest. 2) There were significant positive relationship between makeup behavior and sex role identity. 3) Sexual attractiveness were influenced by femininity, income. The explanatory power of the 2 variables were 8.5%. Aesthetic were influenced by masculinity. The explanatory power of the 1 variable was 9.2%. Psychological dependence were influenced by femininity. The explanatory power of the 1 variable was 8.2%. Makeup interest were influenced by masculinity, age. The explanatory power of the 2 variables were 9.0%. 4 Makeup satisfaction were influenced by sexual attractiveness, aesthetic. The explanatory power of the 2 variables were 22.1%.

지각적-인지적 판단과 감정적 판단에 따른 복잡성과 선호도의 관계 - 상업공간의 실내디자인을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationships between Complex and Preference by Perceptual-cognitive and Affective Judgement - Focused on the Commercial Interior Design -)

  • Design is inseparably related to aesthetics. In spite of that, it is difficult to explain the precise aesthetic variables that affect the aesthetic value of space or environment. Therefore, this study intended to find the relationships between aesthetic variables by perceptual and affective judgement for space design with focus on complexity and preference variables. The research found low level of 'arousing' as well as high levels of affective dimension variables 'pleasant' and 'relaxing' evoked high preference. High preference also appeared in space design cases with high unity, order, and clarity with low contrast and complexity, which are variables of perceptual dimension. Complexity, one variables of preference by Kaplan, is in an inverse proportion to space preference. Thus, space design with high complexity has high level of 'exciting' and 'arousing' affective responses and relatively low level of 'relaxing' response. Additionally, it was confirmed that the most importantly influential factor on complexity was diverse components rather than visual richness and ornamentation.

일본 아방가르드 패션의 미학 -몸의 평면화를 중심으로- (Aesthetics of Japanese Avant-garde Fashion -Focusing on Planarization of the Body-)

  • Clothes and human body are inseparably related. Aesthetic consciousness of the body determines the form of clothing, reflecting the time and culture as well as the individual and society. Clothes can even reorganize the meaning of the body, while transcending their instrumental functions of protecting, expanding and deforming the body. Using 'body' to analyze the clothing form, my study develops a framework by which to classify the planarization of the body in Japanese avant-garde fashion. In order to inquire the formative style and aesthetic values expressed in Japanese avant-garde fashion, my study examines subjects from the discourse on the body to the fashion collections of the 20th and 21st century. The results of the study are as follows. Japanese avant-garde fashion focuses on a planarization of the body which questions the three dimensional construction of the body in more conventional clothing system. Un-structured, variable space posited between the body and clothes, participation of the wearer, attention to recent technology and material, and absence of gender identification characterizes the planarization of the body in Japanese avant-garde fashion. The absence of body in fashion stresses a will-to-form rather than mere bodily proportion and structure, which explores trans-extensity that goes beyond the boundary of the body Ultimately, planarization of the body betrays the correspondence between signifiant and signifie in sartorial convention. Aesthetic ideal of the body is visualized in the form of a dress. Some clothes prioritize the body, particularly the feminine bodily curves, while others focus on the clothing itself as abstract and sculptural forms. Fashion continues to explore forms and images that transcend the traditional representations of the clothed body. As a type of intimate architecture, fashion always mediates the dialogue between clothes and body, or fashion and figure. My study suggests a framework to analyze bodily representation in Japanese avant-garde fashion, focusing on the relationship between the clothes and body.

현대 헤어스타일에 나타난 키치미의 상징성 연구 (The Study of Kitsch Aesthetic Symbol Represented in Modern Hair Style)

  • Fashion, a means of communication, is the symbol conveying the social information and the individual identity. The opulence of material and the development of civilization make the sign of fashion variable and individual; especially, The importance of hair style among the today's sign of fashion, as a determinant element in judging each person's look is emphasized. Kitsch, based on the variety and the individuality is the manner of art in diverse hobbies. In addition, it enlarges the sphere of modern an, creates new open aesthetic world. Therefore, we need to understand the symbol of Kitsch aestetic represented in hair style, which is meaningful. The method of this study is quality analysis by means of semiology, aesthetics, Fashion artical, magazine, atc. To support this statement, we will study the form, a primary symbol, and the ideology, a secondly one in $\ulcorner$Mythologies$\lrcorner$ of Roland Bartes(1972). Then by means of the form and the ideology, we will try to recognize the myth, an essential symbol. The result of this study is following like these three points. First, the Kitsch patterns of representation in hair style use the accumulation by an excessive ornamentation; the inappropriateness by the lack of form, the disagreement, the unbalance, and the nonfunctional form; and finally, the amusement by the reconstruction, the exotic, and the satire. The above three is true to the Barthes's primary symbol-the form. Second, the anti-traditionality(including the lack of form, the disagreement, and the unbalance), the homesickness(including the reconstruction and the exotic), and the eclecticism(including the parody and the mixed imitation) are created as the ideology of the liberal artistic notion, different from the past outlooks on aesthetic. This is true to the Barthes's secondly symbol-the ideology. Third, the form and the ideology enable us to express our own thoughts and to recover the humanity, which is the primary purpose of Kitsch aesthetic. The Kitsch hair style, as we witness, does lead the varied and liberal aesthetic world, create its accessible value, and place the art of hair style in a higher status.

녹지구조에 따른 경관 선호도 (Landscape Preferences for Greenspace Structures)

  • There is little information about appropriate greenspace structures to satisfy aesthetic function in Korea. The purpose of this study was to analyze Korean's aesthetic preferences for greenspace structures concerned with urban tree plantings of an areal type to explore desirable greenspace landscapes. The study considered 5 structural variables of greenspace which were species composition, tree density, tree size, vertical and horizontal structure, and tree layout pattern. A photo-questionnaire was prepared through color simulations of different landscape types for each structural variable. Preference responses of an interval-scale rating from 214 respondents were statistically analyzed between landscape types and between respondent groups. Respondents preferred greenspace landscapes with diverse tree species to single species, higher tree density to lower density, larger trees to many smaller trees, multilayered and grouped plantings to single-layered and sparse plantings, and informal pattern to formal pattern. These preferences tended to be relatively higher for educated specialist and student groups than for other generalist group. Thus, multilayered and dense plantings in natural pattern including larger trees of diverse species, which are similar to ecological plantings, are recommended to increase aesthetic function of greenspace.

  • 제품 심미성은 디자인 조사뿐만 아니라 제품 디자인에 대한 중요한 전략적 도구라는 것을 의심할 사람은 아무도 없다. 그러나 놀랍게도 디자인 문헌에서는 제품 심미성을 어떻게 평가 할 것인가 소비자 반응에 대한 그 영향을 어떻게 측정 할 것인가에 대한 실증적 연구가 미미한 편이다. 이 연구는 소비자의 감정적 반응에 대한 제품 디자인의 심미적 요소의 영향을 탐색한다. 특히 특정 제품군(향수병)의 심미적 차원에 대한 소비자 인식을 측정하기 위한 심리적 척도를 보여준다. 이 연구가 향수 제품에 국한되었다 할지라도 다른 다양한 제품 디자인 및 packaging과 같은 분야의 심미성 역할에도 확대 적용될 수 있을 것이다
