In this paper, the performance of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) was assessed by using computer simulations performed using Matlab. We analyzed channel estimation algorithm for adaptive modulation techniques and effect of system using designed simulator in Multimedia wireless communication multipath fading channel environment. Also, we analyzed performance of adaptive OFDM systems that apply adaptive equalizer using guided result through BER. In result, in case of adaptive modulation OFDM systems that modulation mode changes according to channel state, we knew that adaptive modulation OFDM systems have gains of about 7dB performance than general system (BER=$10^{-1}$). Thus we know that adaptive OFDM propose systems is required for efficient transmission in the high speed Multimedia wireless communication channel environment.

This paper presents an efficient adaptive predistortion technique compensating linear and nonlinear distortions caused by high-power amplifier (HPA) with memory in OFDM systems. The efficient adaptive data predistortion techniques proposed for compensation of HPA with memory in single carrier systems cannot be applied to OFDM systems since the possible input levels for HPA is infinite in OFDM systems. Also, previous adaptive predistortion techniques, based on Volterra series modeling, are not suitable for real-time implementation due to high computational burden and slow convergence rate. In the proposed approach, the memoryless HPA preceded by a linear filter in OFDM systems is modeled by the Wiener system which is then precompensated by the proposed adaptive predistorter with a minimum number of filter taps. An adaptive algorithm for adjusting the proposed adaptive predistorter is derived using the stochastic gradient method. It is demonstrated by computer simulation that the performance of OFDM system suffering from nonlinear distortion can be greatly improved by the proposed efficient adaptive predistorter using a small number of filter taps.

In this paper, we present an adaptive modulation technique for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) for broadband wireless communications. Also, using improved channel prediction, we enhance the performance of adaptive OFDM in high mobility environments. Adaptive modulation technique has been shown to achieve reliable high-rate data transmission over frequency-selective fading channel when OFDM is employed. This scheme requires the accurate channel information between two stations for a better performance. In an outdoor high mobility environment, most of adaptive OFDM systems have to be given the channel information transmitted from the receiver. Even if it is possible, there is some delay. Moreover, the channel impulse response between two stations is very rapidly varied. If the channel information is obsolete at the time of transmission, then poor system performance will result. In order to solve this problem, we propose adaptive OFDM with improved channel predictor. The proposed bit allocation algorithm has a lower complexity and the proposed scheme mitigates the effect of channel delay. Robust approach is less sensitive to outdated channel information. Performance results show that the proposed scheme can achieve considerable performance enhancement.

Adaptive OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) improves data capacity and system performance over multipath fading by adaptively changing modulation schemes according to channel state information(CSI). To achieve a good performance in adaptive OFDM systems, CSI should be transmitted from receiver to transmitter in real time through feedback channel. However, practically, the CSI feedback delay d which is the sum of the data processing delay and the propagation delay is not negligible and damages to the reliability of CSI such that the performance of adaptive OFDM is degraded. This paper presents an adaptive OFDM system with a multistep predictor on the frequency axis to effectively compensate the multiple feedback delays $d(\geq2)$. Via computer simulation we compare the proposed scheme and existing adaptive OFDM schemes with respect to data capacity and system performance.

In this paper, we have analyzed the performance enhancement of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing/Quadrature Phase Shift Keying Modulation-Digital Microwave Radio(OFDM/QPSK-DMR) system using Band Limited-Pulse Shaping Filter(BL-PSF) over microwave channel environments. For performance enhancement, the one-tap adaptive equalizer is adopted in the OFDM/QPSK-DMR system and than both BER and signature curve performance are compared with those of single carrier DMR system. Computer simulations confirm that the OFDM/QPSK-DMR system using 16 sub-carrier increase the fade margin about 2 dB over microwave channel environments and that of performance using one-tap adaptive equalizer is highly increased the fade margin as the number of sub-carriers is larger.

Adaptive transmission techniques can improve the performance of wireless communication system by adaptively changing the transmission parameter such as modulation, code-rate, and power according to the channel state. For orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, the adaptive transmission techniques can be applied to each subcarrier unit. In this paper, we consider the adaptive code-rate OFDM system in which optimal code-rate is applied to each subcarrier according to the subchannel state. Performance analysis show that $3\sim6$dB gain of SNR or up to $30\sim50\%$ increase of data rate are achieved in the condition of bit error rate $10^{-6}$.
Adaptive modulation and Coding(AMC) scheme is promising technique to support the demands for high data rates and wideband proposed for 4G mobile communication system standards. In this paper, adaptive modulation and coding(AMC) based on OFDM system is analyzed through simulation for single user case and compared with SISO-OFDM and SFBC(Space frequency block coding)-OFDM. The performance analysis in terms of capacity for downlink system environments with different values of constellation size under multipath fading channel is done. The adaptive modulation and coding technique is based on perfect estimation channel. It has been observed that SFBC(Space-frequency block coding)-OFDM system gives better performance in terms of capacity.

We consider an adaptive bit-loading technique for bit interleaved coded modulation-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(BICM-OFDM) systems. By adjusting transmission parameter of each subcarrier adaptively depending on the subchannel state, the performance of OFDM system can be improved dramatically. In this paper, the number of bits for each subcarrier is allocated to minimize bit error rate keeping the constant throughput for the adaptive transmission technique of BICM-OFDM system which can be applied to real time transmission. Also, We use the discrete Lagrange multiplier method to get the optimum solution under the integer bit allocation constraint. Simulation results show that computational amount of the proposed bit allocation technique is not high and BICM-OfDM system using the proposed technique can get the SNR gain by 2$\~$3 dB over nonadaptive one.

Adaptive MIMO-OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system adaptively changes modulation scheme depending on feedback channel state information (CSI). The CSI feedback channel which is the reverse link channel has multiple symbol delays including propagation delay, processing delay, frame delay, etc. The unreliable CSI due to feedback delay degrades adaptive modulation system performance. This paper compares the MSE and data capacity with respect to delay and channel signal to noise ratio for the two multi-step channel prediction schemes, CTSBP and BTSBP, such that robust adaptive SISO-OFDM/MIMO-OFDM is designed over severe mobile multipath channel conditions. This paper presents an interpolation method to reduce feedback overhead for adaptive MIMO-OFDM and shows MSE with respect to interpolation interval.

In this paper, we have analyzed and compared the BER and the throughput performance through the computer simulation, after applying several MIMO schemes on the MIMO-OFDM system. Then, the throughput performance of the proposed system, Adaptive-MCM, is analyzed. As a result, the MIMO-OFDM Adaptive-MCM system proposed has a higher average data rate than Non Adaptive-MCM system through the improvement of Trade-off problem between throughput and SNR.
