좌측 상 배부 통증으로 발현된 폐혈전색전증의 증례 -증례 보고- (Pulmonary Thromboembolism Presenting with Upper Thoracic Back Pain -A case report-)

  • Upper thoracic back pain can be musculoskeletal in origin or it could be visceral referred pain, which may be indicative of a serious medical condition. We experienced a case of a 55-years-old female patient who complained of upper thoracic back pain for 1 month, which started 10 days after a traffic accident. She described the pain as being a dull, constant nagging sensation with an intensity of 4/10 on the visual analogue scale. Her pain did not subside after trigger point injection of the rhomboid and trapezius muscles. She reported intermittent palpitation, which indicated that the cardiovascular or pulmonary systems were involved. She was diagnosed with pulmonary thromboembolism by the imaging studies. Refractory upper thoracic back pain should be investigated to rule out this treatable, but potentially fatal condition.

  • In the steel industry, steel is manufactured and processed to produce a variety of steel products. The industry provides fundamental materials to the whole range of industries including car, ship, electric appliance and construction industries, so that it is very important as an infrastructure industry. The steel manufacture process involves aerial work, many danger factors caused by the treatment with hazardous gases including BFG and COG and by high pressure gases including $H_2$, $O_2$, $N_2$ and LPG. It requires the management over the large area because many workers work in a plant. The potential dangers in the steel plant were identified and the effect of the danger assessment was verified through the analysis of the danger assessment for the steel plant. The allowed degree of danger was lowered after the improvement through the danger assessment in the plant where the case studies were conducted, which indicates that the danger assessment is highly effective.

  • The prestressed concrete containment is one of the most important structures in nuclear power plants, which is required to prevent release of radioactive or hazardous effluents to the environment even in the case of a severe accident. Numerical analyses are carried out by using the ABAQUS finite element program to assess the ultimate pressure capacity of the Y prestressed concrete containment with light water reactor at design criteria condition and aging condition considering varied properties of time-dependant materials respectively. From the results, it is verified that the structural capacity of the Y prestressed concrete containment building under the present, aging condition is still robust. In addition, the parameter studies for the reduction of the ultimate pressure capacity of containment building according to the degradation levels of the main structural materials are carried out. The results show that when the degradations of each materials are considered as individual and combined forms, the influence is large in the order of tendon, rebar and concrete degradation, and tendon-rebar, tendon-concrete and rebar-concrete degradation respectively.

A Study on Intuitive Technique of Risk Assessment for Route of Ships Transporting Hazardous and Noxious Substance

  • Despite the development of safety measures and improvements in preventive systems technologies, maritime traffic accidents that involve ships carrying hazardous and noxious substances (HNS) continuously occur owing to increased amount of HNS goods transported and the growing number of HNS fleet. To prevent maritime traffic accidents involving ships carrying HNS, this study proposes an intuitive route risk assessment technique using risk contours that can be visually and quantitatively analyzed. The proposed technique offers continuous information based on quantified values. It determines and structures route risk factors classified as absolute danger, absolute factors, and influential factors within the assessment area. The route risk is assessed in accordance with the proposed algorithmic procedures by means of contour maps overlaid on electronic charts for visualization. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed route risk assessment technique, experimental case studies under various conditions were conducted to compare results obtained by the proposed technique to actual route plans used by five representative companies operating the model ship carrying HNS. This technique is beneficial not only for assessing the route risk of ships carrying HNS, but also for identifying better route options such as recommended routes and enhancing navigation safety. Furthermore, this technique can be used to develop optimized route plans for current maritime conditions in addition to future autonomous navigation application.

Experimental and theoretical justification of passive heat removal system for irradiated fuel assemblies of the nuclear research reactor in a spent fuel pool

  • The safety of nuclear installations is largely determined by the tightness of fuel elements cladding. As the Fukushima nuclear accident showed, the main task in case of loss of power supply is to ensure reliable removal of residual heat release from spent fuel pool (SFP) with irradiated fuel assemblies (IFAs). The paper presents the results of calculated-experimental studies and thermal-hydraulic modeling of temperature storage modes of IFAs in SFP. Experimental studies of SFP's temperature regime and calculated evaluation of residual heat removal due to the thermal conductivity of building structures surrounding the SFP were performed. To ensure the safe operation of research reactors, it's necessary to know the IFA's residual heat power (RHP) in the reactor and SFP, which is determined depending on the operating time of fuel assemblies (FAs) and the IFAs calculated holding time. The FAs operating time depends on the reactor energy output. The IFAs calculated holding time is determined by the fuel burnup, U-235 mass in the fuel, and reactor utilization factor. The IFAs fuel burnup was calculated using the MCU-PTR program. Also presented are the RHP's calculation results using some of the empirical dependencies. The concept of a passive heat removal system (PHRS) based on thermosyphon's operating principle was proposed.

영유소아기 가정사고의 원인과 예방에 관한 연구 (A Study on Home Accidents of Preschool Children (from 1 to 6) in Korea and Prevention Measures)

  • Necessity and purpose of this study: In a large number of countries it has been founded that children′s domestic accidents are at great risk year by year In the United States, they publish detailed accident statistics at regular intervals. In Korea. there have been just a few studies on Accidents-At-Home of preschool children. But it can not be said that there have been any systematic statistics about this area. and any study accounting for the relations of home accidents and preschool: children in detail, Therefore, the purpose of this thesis was focused on the inquire of these relations so as to make a little contribution to Korean preschool children′s health and security measures. So, the detail-purposes are to study following questions and to testify following hypothesis. Prob. 1. What the types of accidents of Preschool children, where the place accidents occurred\ulcorner Prob. 2. What the cause of accidents and, the main factors of the cause\ulcorner Prob. 3. How about the number of their children. the disparity of age among their children and mother′s age in each case of accidents\ulcorner hypothesis 1. There will be differences in the density of protection of parents according to the number of their children. hypothesis 2, There will be differences in accident-types and first-aid methods according to parents socio-economic background. Method; This study employed the interviewing survey method, in which 130 preschool children ware random.sampled, who visit hospital to have medical care. These children (from 1 to 6 years olds) were selected at the emergency room of five hospitals in Seoul (Hosp: Severance, Woosok, Medical Center, Hanyang Medical College Hospital and Seoul Medical Col1age Hospital during study-period (from Aug. to Oct, 1973). Four head nurses in above Hospitals were employed as accident members for this study. Concerning research analysis, the method of hypothesis verifying is used. Conclusion: As two American experts on this subject. Dr, Raymond Neuter and Mr. Ross Mc Garland have drawn attention to "minor epidemics of accidents" that could be avoided by fairly simple measures. preschool children′s accidents could be avoided by parents fair attentions. In other words, one of the most common causes of preschool children′s accidents derived from their parent′s inattention. Therefore, one important task on this subject is to instruct the parents fairly about the children′s accidents. Many accidents could be avoided by the exorcist of a little self-discipline. Also, as much the prevention of accidents is important, as the first-aid Is Important and necessary at the case of the accidents. So, the methods of proper first-aid treatment must be emphasized, and must be taught in school, especially in girls school. And there could be other means available for prevention of accidents. Firstly, the public authorities can take legal measures. More stringent safety standards can be made enforceable by law. Building materials and equipment for domestic us: ought to meat minimum safety criteria at all times. Next the public itself has to understand the seriousness of the problem, and here the dissemination of information is of great importance. All mass media should be brought into play to promote greater public awareness of the question. At last, it will be needed to obtain more detailed epidemiological data through additional surveys and statistics after this study.

한국표준형 원전에 대한 방사선비상계획구역 범위 평가 (Evaluation of the Size of Emergency Planning Zone for the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plants)

  • 원자력발전소로부터의 만일의 방사성물질 누출사고에 대비해 원자력발전소 주변에는 주민보호조치를 효율적으로 수행하기 위해 비상계획구역이 설정되어 있다. 그러나 이러한 비상계획구역 크기를 결정하는 국내의 방법론은 보수적인 사고선원항을 이용하여 계산한 1980년에 발표된 일본의 이론에 근거하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 울진 3&4호기의 확률론적 안전성점검 연구결과로 얻어진 사고선원항을 토대로 현재 원전을 중심으로 반경 $8{\sim}10km$의 주변지역으로 설정되어 있는 방사선 비상계획구역의 적합성을 재평가하는 것이다. 방사선영향평가를 위해서 컴퓨터 코드인 MACCS2(MELCOR Accident Consequence Code System2)코드를 사용하였다. 연구결과는 현재 울진원전을 중심으로 설정되어 있는 반경 $8{\sim}10km$의 비상계획구역으로서 STC-14 및 STC-19를 제외한 대부분의 선원항들에 대해 조기사망 발생확률을 크게 낮출 수 있음을 보여주고 있다. STC-14의 경우는 16km 이상, STC-19의 경우는 13km이상 소개되어야 조기사망 발생확률이 현저하게 감소되었다. 주민보호조치에 대한 민감도 분석결과에서는 사고통보 및 소개와 관련된 시간지연이 조기사망효과에 대해 직접적이고도 매우 큰 영향을 주고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

해상보험에 있어서 협정보험가액의 과대평가에 관한 연구 -영국, 일본, 한국상법의 비교를 중심으로- (A Study on Over-Valuation of Agreed Value in Marine Insurance -Focussed on Comparison of MIA, Japan and Korean Commercial Code-)

  • 한국상법 제671조에서 당사자간에 보험가액을 정하지 아니한 때에는 사고발생시의 가액을 보험가액으로 한다고 규정하고 있으나 이 규정은 해상보험에서는 적용되지 아니하고 법정보험가액이 적용되고, 상법 제670조와 같이 당사자간에 보험가액을 정한 때에는 그 가액은 사고발생시의 가액으로 정한 것으로 추정한다. 그러나 그 가액이 사고발생시의 가액을 현저하게 초과할 때에는 사고발생시의 가액을 보험가액으로 한다라는 규정 때문에 해상보험에 있어서 협정보험가액의 과대평가에 대한 비교대상이 사고발생시의 가액인지 아니면 해상보험에 관한 법정보험가액이 되는지 불투명하게 된다. 해상보험의 경우 기간이 짧고 경기변동이 적으므로 법정보험가액제도를 두고 보험가액불변경주의를 도입하였다. 그러나 이는 임의규정으로서 만약 기간이 길거나 경기변동이 크다면 법정보험가액이 아닌 사고발생시의 가액으로 대체된다. 그러나 기평가보험에서 협정보험가액이 과대평가되었을 경우 그 과대평가의 비교대상을 법정보험가액이라고 하고 있는데 이는 논리적인 모순을 가지고 있다. 따라서 해상보험에서 협정보험가액의 과대평가시 사고발생시의 가액을 보험가액으로 본다고 하고 있으므로 협정보험가액의 과대평가의 비교대상은 사고발생시의 가액으로 되며 법정보험가액을 적용할 여지가 없다.

건설현장 정형·비정형데이터를 활용한 기계학습 기반의 건설재해 예측 모델 개발 (Development of Machine Learning-based Construction Accident Prediction Model Using Structured and Unstructured Data of Construction Sites)

  • 현재 국내 건설업에서는 꾸준히 증가하는 건설재해를 예방하기 위해 다양한 정책적 노력과 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 기존 연구에서 건설재해 예방을 위해 개발한 예측 모델의 경우, 주로 정형데이터만을 활용하였기에 건설현장의 다양한 특성을 충분히 고려하지 못한 예측 결과가 도출되었다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 정형데이터와 텍스트 형식의 비정형데이터를 동시에 활용하여 건설현장의 특성을 충분히 고려할 수 있는 기계학습 기반 건설재해 사전 예측 모델을 개발하였다. 본 연구는 기계학습을 위해 건설공사 안전관리 종합정보망(CSI)의 최근 3년간 건설재해 데이터 6,826건을 수집하였다. 수집된 데이터 중 정형데이터의 학습은 5가지 알고리즘의 성능 분석을 통해 Decision forest 알고리즘을 사용하였고 비정형데이터의 학습은 BERT 언어모델을 사용하였다. 정형 및 비정형데이터를 동시에 활용한 건설재해 예측 모델의 성능 비교 결과, 정형데이터만을 활용한 경우보다 약 20 % 향상된 95.41 %의 예측정확도가 도출되었다. 본 연구 결과, 비정형데이터를 동시에 활용함으로써 예측 모델의 효과적인 성능 향상을 확인하였으며, 보다 정확한 예측을 통한 건설재해 저감을 기대할 수 있다.

드론 영상기반 교통안전시설 효과분석 방법론 연구 (A Study on the Methodology for Analyzing the Effectiveness of Traffic Safety Facilities Using Drone Images)

  • 교통안전시설의 설치효과를 분석한 여러 연구사례에서는 주로 설치시점을 기준으로 전후의 교통사고자료나 지점검지기에서 수집되는 속도자료를 통해 사고건수, 사고심각도, 속도 등의 변화를 비교하는 방법을 활용하고 있다. 하지만 교통사고 자료는 설치 시점 기준 최소 전후 1년 이상 수집해야 하므로 소요시간이 길고, 자료 수집기간동안 분석 대상 시설 외에 다른 교통안전시설이 추가되는 등 도로환경이 변화하여 사고감소 효과가 분석 대상 시설로 인한 효과라고 판단하기 어려울 가능성이 있다. 또한 속도자료는 지점검지기 위치가 분석이 필요한 지점과 다른 경우가 많고 현장조사시 교통사고 위험에 노출되는 문제가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 드론으로 영상을 촬영하고 프로그램을 이용해 자료를 추출한 다음, 속도완화구간 도입 전과 도입 후의 차량 주행속도를 비교하여 실효성을 파악하는 일련의 방법론을 정립하여 사례연구를 수행하였다. 드론을 활용한 차량의 속도 조사는 고속도로에서 이루어지는 관측조사에 비해 훨씬 안전하게 조사할 수 있고, 차량의 주행궤적을 따라 속도 변화를 추적할 수 있는 장점이 있어 향후 다양한 교통조사에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
