한의과대학생의 유급경험에 관한 현상학적 연구 (The phenomenological study on the Experience of Korean Medicine Students who have academic failure)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to explore the academic failure experiences of Korean Medicine Students. The academic failure in a medical school is defined as the situation the student who have academic failure need to repeat their academic year again. Methods : Data were collected through in-depth individual interviews from April to May 2016 and analyzed through Colaizzi's phenomenological methodology. The participants were interviewed twice, for 30minutes to 60minutes per interview. Results : Eight theme-clusters of were identified from 21 themes. The theme-clusters were 'Dream of university life and freedom', 'Meeting Stranger academic field and growing study stress', 'Difficulty of self-management', 'Weak supporting system', 'Feeling of guilty, sense of isolation and decreasing in self-esteem', 'The experience during the vacation after the academic failure', 'The experience of returning to school' and 'Self growing through hard experience'. Conclusions : Understanding of academic failure experience of Korean Medicine Students is an important approach to counsel them and an important way to reach a good model of education at a medical college.

학습된 무기력과 실패내성이 학업성취도와 직무성과에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Learned Helplessness and Failure Tolerance on the Academic Achievement and Job Performance)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of lifelong learners' learned helplessness and failure tolerance on academic achievement and job performance. The result of this empirical study exhibits that learned helplessness has negative effects on their academic achievement and job performance. Failure tolerance, however, has positive effects on their academic achievement and job performance. In addition, their academic achievement has mediated between learned helplessness and/or failure tolerance, and job performance. This study suggests that lifelong learners' positive response to failures is helpful for both learning and working performances.

의과대학·의학전문대학원생의 학업소진 양상과 관련 변인들과의 관계 (Relationship between Academic Burnout of Medical and Graduate Students and Related Variables)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of demographic data, academic demand, perfectionism, and academic failure tolerance on academic burnout of medical and graduate students at Yeungnam University. A mixed method study was conducted. Fourteen students participated in a focus group interview and 302 students, including 151 medical students and 151 graduate students, completed a survey, which addressed the factors of academic burnout, academic demand, perfectionism, and academic failure tolerance. There were significant differences in the academic burnout by age and year in school. The 2nd year medical & graduate students experienced significantly higher academic burnout than the other students. Multiple regression analysis revealed that academic burnout of medical and graduate students was significantly affected by academic demand (p<0.001), self-oriented and socially-prescribed perfectionism (p<0.001, p<0.01), and feeling and behavior, which were sub-factors of academic failure tolerance (p<0.05, p<0.01). It is suggested that comparative studies with other student groups, a longitudinal study of medical and graduate students, and a prospective study of coping styles and methods of preventing academic burnout need to be conducted.

교수자 지지가 대학생의 학업적 지연행동에 미치는 융합적 영향: 학업적 실패내성의 매개효과 (Converged Influence of Professor Support on Academic Procrastination: Focused on the Mediation Effect of Academic Failure Tolerance)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 교수자 지지가 대학생의 학업적 지연행동에 미치는 영향에서 학업적 실패내성의 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 경기도 D대학교 학생 211명을 대상으로 Google 설문조사를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계, 상관분석과 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 학업적 실패내성의 매개효과는 Baron과 Kenny의 3단계 회귀분석과 Sobel Test를 통해 검증하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 교수자 지지는 학업적 지연행동과 부적상관이 있었고, 학업적 실패내성과 정적상관이 있었다. 또한 학업적 실패내성과 학업적 지연행동 간에는 부적상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 교수자 지지가 학업적 지연행동에 미치는 영향에서 학업적 실패내성은 완전매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 대학생의 학업적 상황에서 교수자의 지지와 학업적 실패내성의 수준을 높여줄 수 있는 교육환경 조성이 필요함을 시사한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대학생의 학업적 지연행동을 낮추고 학업적 실패내성을 강화할 수 있는 교수자의 지지프로그램 제공의 필요성을 제언하였다.

  • 본 연구는 서울 소재 대학생 345명을 대상으로 학업스트레스가 학업소진에 미치는 영향과 학업실패내성의 매개효과를 살펴보고 대인관계스트레스 수준이 학업소진에 차별적 영향을 주는지 알아보기 위해 실시되었다. 각 변인들 간의 관계를 회귀분석과 부스트래핑, 그리고 조절된 매개분석을 통해 확인하였으며, 연구 결과 첫째, 학업스트레스가 많을수록 학업소진을 많이 겪음이 확인 되었다. 둘째, 학업스트레스와 학업소진 간의 관계에서 학업실패내성의 매개효과를 확인했다. 셋째, 학업실패내성의 매개효과는 대인관계스트레스에 의해 조절됨을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 대학생의 학업스트레스를 개인적·사회적 차원으로 나누어 학업소진에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다는데 학문적 의의를 가지며 대학생 학업문제 개입 방안에 있어 대인관계스트레스를 다루는 것의 실무적 중요성을 시사한다.

간호대학생의 학업실패내성과 학업적 자기효능감이 학업성취도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Nursing Student's Academic Failure Tolerance and Academic Self-efficacy on Academic Achievement)

  • 본 논문은 간호대학생의 학업실패내성과 학업적 자기효능감 및 학업성취도 간의 상관관계를 파악하고 학업실패내성과 학업적 자기효능감이 학업성취도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 하였다. D시에 있는 4년제 간호대학생 198명을 대상으로 2012년 8월27일부터 9월17일까지 조사하였으며, 기술통계, 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석을 사용하였다. 학업성취도는 학업실패내성(r=.184, p<.01)과 학업적 자기효능감(r=.282, p<.001)과 긍정적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 회귀분석결과 학업적 자기효능감만이 7.5%(F=16.905, p<.001)의 설명력을 나타내었다. 학업실패내성의 행동 하위영역은 학업성취도에 8.0%의 설명력을 나타내었고, 학업적 자기효능감의 자기조절 효능감 하위영역은 15.4%의 설명력을 나타내었다. 취업 후에 직무성과에 긍정적 영향을 줄 수 있도록 대학생활 동안 학업실패내성과 학업적 자기효능감을 향상시켜나가는 방안에 대해 고민할 필요가 있다.

간호대학생의 간호전문직관, 학업적 실패내성과 사회적 자기효능감이 대학생활 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Nursing Professionalism, Academic Failure Tolerance and Social Self-efficacy on College Life Satisfaction among Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study examined the effects of nursing professionalism, academic failure tolerance and social self-efficacy on college life satisfaction among nursing students. Methods: Data were collected between September 1 and October 16, 2015 via a self-reported questionnaire from 170 nursing students using convenient sampling methods. The survey included questions about nursing professionalism, academic failure tolerance, social self-efficacy, and college life satisfaction. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression with IBM SPSS/WIN 20.0. Results: Establishment vision about nursing science (${\beta}=.27$, p=.006), academic failure tolerance (${\beta}=.17$, p=.031) and social self-efficacy (${\beta}=.19$, p=.012) of nursing students were identified as significant predictors of college life satisfaction, after adjusting for establishment vision about nursing science and satisfaction in nursing science. This model explained 21.0% of the college life satisfaction in nursing students (F=6.38, p<.001). Conclusion: These results suggest that academic failure tolerance and social self-efficacy were significant factors influencing the college life satisfaction of nursing students. Also, as a strategy for improving the college life satisfaction of nursing students, it is necessary to develop programs that can help to establish apparent vision and to improve satisfaction in nursing science.

초등학생이 지각한 부모의 양육 태도와 학습된 무기력의 관계: 학업 실패 내성과 회복탄력성의 조절된 매개효과 (The Relationship between Parenting Attitudes Perceived by Elementary School Students and Their Learned Helplessness: The Moderated Mediation Effect of Academic Failure Tolerance and Resilience)

  • 본 연구는 초등학생이 지각하는 부모의 양육 태도와 학습된 무기력의 관계에서 학업 실패 내성과 회복탄력성의 조절된 매개효과를 확인하였다. 연구대상은 충청북도 충주시 한 초등학교의 5, 6학년 학생 337명이었고 이들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 설문에는 부모의 양육 태도 검사, 학습된 무기력 검사, 학업 실패 내성 검사, 그리고 회복탄력성 검사 문항이 포함되었다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 긍정적 양육 태도와 학업 실패 내성, 회복탄력성 사이에는 서로 정적인 상관이 있었고, 학습된 무기력은 부모의 긍정적 양육태도, 학업 실패 내성, 회복탄력성과 부적인 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 부모의 긍정적 양육 태도와 학습된 무기력과의 관계를 학업 실패 내성이 부분매개하였다. 셋째, 학업 실패 내성과 학습된 무기력 사이를 회복탄력성이 조절하였다. 넷째, 학업 실패 내성과 학습된 무기력 사이에서 회복탄력성의 조절된 매개효과가 유의하였다. 본 연구결과는 초등학생의 학습된 무기력 완화를 위하여 부모의 양육 태도를 점검하여 긍정적으로 전환하고, 학업 실패 내성과 회복탄력성을 제고할 다양한 방안을 마련할 필요가 있음을 시사한다. 끝으로 본 연구의 제한점과 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.

초등 과학영재와 일반학생의 그릿(Grit)과 학업적 실패내성 및 심리적 안녕감과의 비교 (A Comparison of Grit, Failure Tolerance and Psychological Well-Being between Elementary Science-Gifted and the General Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare Grit, failure tolerance and psychological well-being between elementary science gifted and general students. The subjects of this study were 48 science gifted students and 70 general students in the 5th and 6th grade of elementary school in Gyeonggi province. The results of this study were as follows: First, Grit, failure tolerance and psychological well-being of science gifted students were higher than those of the general students, there was a statistically significant difference. Second, science gifted students showed higher correlation between grit and failure tolerance, grit and psychological well-being than general students. Grit of science gifted students had a positive correlation with all sub-factors of academic failure tolerance and psychological well-being. In general students, there was a positive correlation with all sub-factors of Grit, academic failure tolerance, and psychological well-being except for the emotion sub-factor of academic failure tolerance. Thirdly, as a result of the regression analysis on the elements of failure tolerance affecting the Grit, science gifted students showed emotional factor but general students had behavioral factors. Also, as a sub-factor of psychological well-being on Grit, both science gifted and general students showed autonomy.

의과대학생의 개인적 특성과 대학생활 요인이 학업실패에 미치는 영향: 정신건강의 매개효과 (The Effects of Medical Students' Traits and College Life on Academic Failure Mediated by Mental Health)

  • This study utilized cohort data, student lifestyle surveys, and mental health examination results from a medical school to investigate the impact of factors such as hometown, alcohol use, smoking, university life adaptation, and aptitude on academic failure, with mental health serving as a mediator. We analyzed data from 409 of the 549 incoming students at Keimyung University School of Medicine, excluding 140 individuals with missing data, from the academic years 2015 to 2021. Significant differences were found according to hometown in feelings of depression, suicidal tendencies, and internet addiction. There were also significant differences based on university life adaptation in feelings of depression, suicidal tendencies, and internet addiction, as well as significant differences according to academic aptitude in feelings of depression and internet addiction. Academic failure showed significant differences based on hometown, university life adaptation, and academic aptitude. Furthermore, students' hometown had a complete mediating effect on academic failure together with feelings of depression, suicidal tendencies, and internet addiction. University life adaptation exhibited a complete mediating effect with suicidal tendencies and a partial mediating effect with feelings of depression and internet addiction. Academic aptitude demonstrated partial mediating effects on feelings of depression, suicidal tendencies, and internet addiction. Based on these results, we suggest establishing counseling programs tailored to the characteristics of medical students, and various programs for university life adaptation are necessary. There is also a need for diverse programs not only for clinical training, but also for different career paths.
