Food Media Content Study for an AI Smart Speaker

  • Society advances through technology, and technology has changed many lifestyles. The need for food is varying, but the availability of food is constantly changing as trends in production change. Combining the food industry and technology, a robot that delivers food and also cooks it has been developed. The time has come for a combination of food content and technology to advance the restaurant industry. This study discusses the application of a recommended food content media providing system using a curation engine that recommends contents according to individual tastes and preferences for the convenience of those who use food contents, using artificial intelligence speakers. We discuss the technologies required to develop video contents optimized for AI speakers with screens and shapes, combined with inset top boxes.

  • This paper focuses on the implementation of machine learning model for Recycling bot, which is a platform service of recycling education. The recycling bot applied with a AI model using collected image set. The experiment confirms that classified by the model result are accurate.

  • 배달량 확산과 자율 주행 로봇의 실내외 주행이 가능해지면서 로봇을 활용할 주문 및 배달 서비스가 활발해지고 있다. 따라서 기존의 자율 주행 배달 로봇의 문제점을 개선하여 보다 나은 배달 서비스를 제공하고자 자율 주행 배달 로봇을 연구하였다. 배달 로봇에 AI를 적용하여 장애물 탐지, 최적코스 탐색을 통해 목적지까지 최적 경로로 이동하며, 배달 물품 안전까지 보장한다.

Estimation of Setting Time Applying Setting Estimator for AI Finishing Robot System Depending on Water-Cement Ratio (AI기반 콘크리트 마감 자동화 시스템용 응결추정계의 물시멘트비에 따른 응결추정 평가)

  • This study aims to compare the hardness value development characteristics according to the water-cement ratio during a series of experiments to develop a setting estimator for an AI-based concrete finishing automation system. For the test variables, water-cement ratios are varied with 30, 40 and 50%. Proctor penetration test and surface hardness test by setting time estimator are conducted to estimate the setting time. For the effect of water-cement ratios, they did not affect the surface hardness either, while initial set time and final set time are not constant with water-cement ratios.

  • Recently conventional artificial intelligence(AI) approaches have been employed to build action selectors for the autonomous mobile robot(AMR). However, in these approaches, the decision making process to choose an action from multiple competence modules is still an open question. Many researches have been focused on the reactive planning systems such as the biological immune system. In this paper, we attempt to construct an action selector for an AMR based on the artificial immune network and internet. The information from vision sensors is used for antibody. We propose a learning method for artificial immune network using evolutionary algorithm to produce antibody automatically. The internet environment for an AMR action selector shows the usefulness of the proposed learning artificial immune network application.

Artificial Intelligence for Assistance of Facial Expression Practice Using Emotion Classification (감정 분류를 이용한 표정 연습 보조 인공지능)

  • In this study, an artificial intelligence(AI) was developed to help with facial expression practice in order to express emotions. The developed AI used multimodal inputs consisting of sentences and facial images for deep neural networks (DNNs). The DNNs calculated similarities between the emotions predicted by the sentences and the emotions predicted by facial images. The user practiced facial expressions based on the situation given by sentences, and the AI provided the user with numerical feedback based on the similarity between the emotion predicted by sentence and the emotion predicted by facial expression. ResNet34 structure was trained on FER2013 public data to predict emotions from facial images. To predict emotions in sentences, KoBERT model was trained in transfer learning manner using the conversational speech dataset for emotion classification opened to the public by AIHub. The DNN that predicts emotions from the facial images demonstrated 65% accuracy, which is comparable to human emotional classification ability. The DNN that predicts emotions from the sentences achieved 90% accuracy. The performance of the developed AI was evaluated through experiments with changing facial expressions in which an ordinary person was participated.

The Effects of Subjective Beliefs and Values on Use Intention of Artificial Intelligence Robots: Difference according to Occupation and Employment (인공지능 로봇에 대한 주관적 신념과 가치가 이용의도에 미치는 영향: 직종 및 고용형태에 따른 차이 비교)

  • This paper examine how acceptance of AI robots can be achieved according to occupational groups when the discourse on human labor and occupation changes due to the new industrial revolution is spreading steadily. Previous research on the acceptance of new technologies and products has predicted use behavior through subjective beliefs and values that do not change well over the short term. Therefore, this study compares the beliefs, values, and use intention of AI robots according to occupation. As a result, the subjective belief factor for AI robots was classified into belief in rationality(reason) and belief in benevolence(emotion). The value factors were divided into acceptance value(role performance, communication, social comparison) and avoidance value(risk, complexity). There was a significant difference in the effect of these on the use intention of AI robot by occupation and employment types. This result suggests that there are gaps in the occupation group at the rate of technology acceptance, as opposed to the existing prediction that AI robots will be rapidly expanded by professionals.

  • AI-based smart factory technologies are only increase short-term productivity. To solve this problem, collaborative intelligence combines human teamwork, creativity, AI speed, and accuracy to actively compensate for each other's shortcomings. However, current automation equipmens require high safety measures due to the high disaster intensity in the event of an accident. In this paper, we design and implement a factory safety control system that uses a depth camera to implement workers and facilities in the virtual world and to determine the safety of workers through simulation.

  • AI is applied increasingly to overall industries such as living, medical, financial service, autonomous car, etc. thanks to rapid technology development. AI-leading countries are strengthening their competency to secure competitiveness since AI is positioned as the core technology in $4^{th}$ Industrial Revolution. Although Korea has the competitive IT infra and human resources, it lags behind traditional AI-leaders like United States, Canada, Japan and, even China which devotes all its might to develop intelligent technology-intentive industry. AI is the critical technology influencing on the national industry in the near future according to advancement of intelligent information society so that concentration of capability is required with national interest. Also, joint development with global AI-leading companies as well as development of own technology are crucial to prevent technology subordination. Additionally, regulatory reform and preparation of related law are very urgent.

  • UWB is a type of technology used for indoor positioning and is characterized by higher accuracy than RSSI-based schemes. Mobile equipment operating based on ROS can monitor the environment around the equipment using lidar and cameras. When applying the loop closing technique to determine the starting position in this monitoring process, the existing method has a problem of low accuracy because the closing operation occurs only when there are feature points on the image. In this paper, to solve this problem, we designed a system that increases the accuracy of loop closing work by providing location information by mounting a UWB tag on a mobile device. In addition, the accuracy of the UWB-based indoor positioning system was evaluated through experiments, and it was verified that it could be used for loop closing techniques.
