Implementation of Security Message Transfer System for PDA Push Service (PDA 푸쉬 서비스를 위한 보안 메시지 전송 시스템 구현)

  • 음성과 데이터가 같이 사용될 수 없는 2.5G의 통신형 PDA를 위한 PUSH 서비스를 제안하였고, 이 PUSH 서비스와 이동 단말기의 특성을 고려한 보안 프로토콜을 현재 상용화된 알고리즘을 적절히 적용하여 구현하였다. 제안한 PUSH 서비스는 유선 인터넷 망과는 오프라인 상태인 음성 대기용 클라이언트 단말기와 망 접속 방식으로 SMS(short message service)를 이용하였으며, SMS 메시지 수신 후에는 단말기 상에서 SMS의 데이터를 분석하여 RAS(remote access service)를 통해 데이터 채널을 생성하여 서버측의 데이터가 PUSH 되도록 구현하였다. 보안 프로토콜은 통신횟수를 줄이기 위하여 비표 형식을 취했으며, SMS와 데이터의 2개의 채널을 가지는 2중 통신 방법을 이용하였다. 이를 위하여 보안 알고리즘 중 처리속도가 빠르고 적은 메모리 공간을 사용하는 SEED와 MD5 알고리즘을 사용하였으며, 더욱더 안전한 키 분배를 위하여 인증과 보안의 효과를 가지는 RSA알고리즘도 이용하였다.

Design and Performance Evaluation of Complex Spreading CDMA Systems for Improving Multiple Access Efficiency (다중 접속 효율 향상을 위한 Complex Spreading CDMA 시스템 설계와 성능 평가)

  • It should guarantee high reliability and ultra low latency communication. Additionally, it should support connection between massive devices. As one of estimated scenarios for 5G mobile communication, mobile devices and sensors using low data rate wireless communication will increase. For communication of these devices, single-carrier system can be considered. In order to satisfy these requirements, in this paper, we propose CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) system using complex spreading and Multi-level BPSK(Binary Phase Shift Keying). The proposed system spread transmit symbol by using chip code consisted of real and imaginary number. As simulation results, we can confirm that although the proposed system has 3dB lower BER (Bit Error Rate) performance than conventional CDMA system, the proposed system can support 2 times more users in comparison with conventional CDMA system.

  • In order to reach Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency communication, one of 5G aims, Multi-access Edge Computing paradigm was born. The idea of this paradigm is to bring cloud computing technologies closer to the network edge. User services are hosted in multiple Edge Clouds, deployed at the edge of the network distributedly, to reduce the service latency. For mobile users, migrating their services to the most proper Edge Clouds for maintaining a Quality of Service is a non-convex problem. The service migration problem becomes more complex in high mobility scenarios. The goal of the study is to observe how user mobility affects the selection of Edge Cloud during a fixed mobility path. Mobility-Aware Service Migration (MASM) is proposed to optimize service migration based on two main parameters: routing cost and service migration cost, during a high mobility scenario. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared with an existing greedy algorithm.

  • 터보부호는 일반적으로 인터리버의 크기가 클수록 성능이 우수한 것으로 알려져 있는데 이동통신 시스템 등에서 음성 신호를 전송하는 경우 프레임의 크기 즉, 인터리버의 크기가 너무 작아서 성능의 저하가 생기게 되는 것은 당연한 원리이다. 본 논문에서는 터보부호의 복호시 3개의 직렬 MAP복호기를 제안하여 기존의 방식보다 메모리 수는 감소시키면서 음성의 기준인 S/N 2.0[dB]에서 BER $10^{-3}$의 성능을 제안한 알고리즘을 통해 살펴본다. 모의실험결과, 부호율 1/3 , 반복복호의 수 5, 생성부흐 다항식 G=(7, 5)일 때 IS-95[9]에서 사용되고 있는 프레임과 같은 크기의 인터리버인 프레임 24인 경우 $10^{-2}$, 프레임 192인 경우 $10^{-3}$ 정도 값을 얻었다.

  • 사이버 공간은 제4차 산업혁명의 진전과 5세대 이동통신(5G) 시대의 도래로 초연결사회의 핵심요소로 등장하였다. 하지만 이러한 사이버공간 활용성의 증대와 함께 취약성도 증대하고 있어 사이버상의 산업기술 유출 역시 증가할 전망이다. 실제로 국내외에서 중소기업, 대기업을 막론하고 다양한 사이버공격을 통한 산업기술 유출 사례가 속속 보고되고 있다. 특히, 과거 No Tech상의 사이버공격에서 APT, 다크웹, 클라우드 서비스 등 High Tech를 이용하는 고도화된 사이버공격으로 진화하고 있다. 이는 기업의 영업비밀 유출 노하우 손실, 일자리와 경쟁우위 손실 등 경제력 손실과 평판 하락에 큰 영향을 미친다. 이에 본 논문에서는 국내외 사이버공격을 통한 산업기술 유출사고의 영향력을 산정하고 이에 대한 시사점을 서술 한다.

  • Location-based service is an important spatiotemporal database application area that provides the location-aware information of wireless terminals via positioning devices such as GPS. With the rapid advances of wireless communication systems, the requirement of mobile application areas including traffic, mobile commerce and supply chaining management became the center of attention for various research issues in spatiotemporal databases. In this paper we present the A-Quadtree, an efficient indexing method for answering location-based queries where the movement vector information (e.g., speed and velocity) is not presented. We implement the A-Quadtree with an index structure for object identifiers as a.Net component to apply the component to multiplatforms. We present our approach and describe the performance evaluation through various experiments. In our experiments, we compare the performance with previous approaches and show the enhanced efficiency of our method.

  • Since the major cellular data service providers in U.S, Japan as well as in Korea started the LTE (Long Term Evolution) service, there has been more strong need for the methods that can accurately measure the MIMO (Multi Input-Multi Output) OTA (Over The Air) performance of LTE handsets because the performance of the MIMO antenna determines the data throughput in the downlink. In this paper, the hand effect on the MIMO antenna performance is analyzed by numerically and experimentally. The hand effect on the LTE mobile handset is analyzed by measuring the link level performance in the MIMO OTA system.

  • A core technological base to provide enhanced data rates required by 5G mobile wireless communications is the improved bandwidth efficiency using massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. MIMO transmission requires the channel estimation using the channel state information reference signaling (CSI-RS) and appropriate beamforming, thus the design of the codebook defining proper beamforming vectors is an important issue. In this paper, we propose a multi-rank codebook based on the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) matrix, by utilizing statistical properties of the channel generated by the spatial channel model (SCM). The proposed method includes a structural change of the precoding matrix indicator (PMI) by considering the phase difference distributions between adjacent antenna elements, as well as the selected codevector characteristics of each transmission layer. Performance gain of the proposed method is evaluated and verified by making the performance comparison to the 3GPP standard codebooks adopted by Long-Term Evolution (LTE) systems.

  • Unlike in previous generations of mobile technology, machine learning (ML)-based self-healing research trend are currently attracting attention to provide high-quality, effective, and low-cost 5G services that need to operate in the HetNets scenario where various wireless transmission technologies are added. Self-healing plays a vital role in detecting and mitigating the faults, and confirming that there is still room for improvement. We analyzed the research trend in self-healing framework and ML-based fault detection, fault diagnosis, and fault compensation. We propose that to ensure that self-healing is a proactive instead of being reactive, we have to design an ML-based self-healing framework and select a suitable ML algorithm for fault detection, diagnosis, and outage compensation.

  • Korean mobile communications industry has been a main locomotive of the drastic development of Korean IT industry and became one of core industries in national economy. To secure strong competitiveness of mobile communications industry, smooth cooperation should be reconsidered among government, universities, research institutions, and private companies. Future mobile communications technology will be evolved from IMT-2000 to system upgrade, 3.5G and 4G. And the goals of technology development are provision of mobile multimedia services based on better mobility and higher data speed rates. Therefore, Korea's technology development strategies of mobile communications should be focused on intensifying bondage of international cooperation, strengthening standardization activities, and enhancing core technology development capability to secure IPR.
