  • This study was conducted to develop an application software, SIDAS3D(Stand Inventory Data Analysis System for 3 Dimensional Representation), of which the purpose of development is to make it easier to analyze and display the 3D spatial structure of a forest stand, based on the data such as tree position, species, DBH, height, clear length of individual trees, and crown width. This program has a statistical analysis function for stand attributes per hectare and displays simple graphs of stand statistics such as the distribution of diameters, heights, and volumes. It also has two additional functions, of which one is to display the 3D image of stand structure and the other is to display the image of crown projection. In addition, this program provides an imaginary treatment simulation function, which can visually confirm the suitability of silvicultural treatments on computers. To test the precision and reliability of SIDAS3D, data obtained by the precision forest inventory method were used. Statistical analysis ability of SIDAS3D was compared with that of SAS. And its representational ability was compared with that of TreeDraw. According to the verification, SIDAS3D was superior to SAS and TreeDraw in both the data processing time and the interpretative ability of results. It was concluded that SIDAS3D could be used to help users efficiently make decisions for appropriate silvicultural treatments and rational management plans because it has analysis functions providing various valuable information.

  • Significant research interest in the growth and characterization of $Y_2$O$_3$:Eu$^{3+}$ thin films has been shown over the last few years because of the promise for applications of display devices. Although an Eu-doped oxysulfide (Eu: $Y_2$O$_2$S) which has an efficiency of 13% has been used for a traditional cathode ray tube (CRT) red phosphor, the sulfide system is known to degrade rapidly under the high current densities needed for field-emission display (FED) technology. • For acquisition of 3-Dimensional information in real space, stereo vision system is suitable. In the stereo system, 3D real world position is derived from translation of coordinates between cameras and world. Thus, to use stereo vision, it is needed to construct a precise system which provides kinematically precise translation between camera and world coordinate, in spite of intricacy and hardness. So much cost and time should be spent to build the system. In this paper, facilely to solve previous problem, a method which can easily obtain 3D informations using reference objects and RSD(Relative Stereo Disparity) is proposed. Instead of direct computation of position with translation of coordinates, only relative stereo disparity in stereo pair of image is used to find the reference depth of objects, and real 3D position is computed with initial condition of reference objects. In computation, subpixel resolution is involved to find the display for accuracy. To find the RSD, corresponding points are calculated in subpixel resolution. So the result in experiemnt will be shown that subpixel resolution is more accurate than 1 pixel resolution.

  • e-Catalog is defined as an electronically-described production information on the Web that includes various features of products and enables the customer interaction. Therefore the system is constructed with the database of all the information regarding manufacturing processes, order, cost, delivery. etc. The display of the e-Catalog is preferred to be 3 dimensional animated images in order to impress the customers. This work optimizes the 3D image conversion process from the design data to the e-Catalog data of products and automates the conversion process such that the human intervention can be minimized. The e-Catalog of electronic appliances are discussed as examples.

  • A lot of the data currently measured is measured based on indicators, but since the height value of the measurement point is not used as basic data, difficulties arise when trying to use it in a three-dimensional geographic information system. Various methods can be used to create polygons by drawing points on the surface using topographic information or extracting the height value of each measurement point on the surface in order to display large quantities on the surface. Among the various types of data expression methods, this study attempts a data construction and display method to improve visualization performance of time series measurement data expressed on the surface, and examines its procedures and strengths and weaknesses.

  • This paper proposes a remote partitioned rendering method for displaying 3D applications on large tiled displays, which were developed using the Unity game engine. With the proposed method, one can represent them without additional development or any modifications to the applications. The paper verifies its feasibility by applying to a sample Unity-based application.

  • Recent simulation tools combine the 3-dimensional graphic technique to implement the 3D visualization of the objects in the 2-Dimensional computer display. In this paper, a sight simulation tool is implemented using the recent 3D techniques. The proposed sight simulator can be applied to improve the human environment with the harmony of the nature. The system is consisted of modules for topography, object, and navigation. A sight database for the sight elements(objects) is implemented using Java. Combined with Java, VRML, which is considered as the standard for 3D virtual reality in the Internet is used to implement EAI(External Authoring Interface). EAI allows the users to communicate with a VRML scene.

  • Die-to-wafer (D2W) hybrid bonding in the multilayer semiconductor manufacturing process is one of wafer direct bonding, and various studies are being conducted around the world. A noteworthy point in the current die-to-wafer process is that a lot of voids occur on the bonding surface of the die during bonding. In this study, as a suggested method for removing voids generated during the D2W hybrid bonding process, a flexible mechanism for implementing convex for die bonding to be applied to the bond head is proposed. In addition, modeling of flexible mechanisms, analysis/design/control/evaluation of static/dynamics properties are performed. The proposed system was controlled by capacitive sensor (lion precision, CPL 290), piezo actuator (P-888,91), and dSpace. This flexure mechanism implemented a working range of 200 ㎛, resolution(3σ) of 7.276nm, Inposition(3σ) of 3.503nm, settling time(2%) of 500.133ms by applying a reverse bridge type mechanism and leaf spring guide, and at the same time realized a maximum step difference of 6 ㎛ between die edge and center. The results of this study are applied to the D2W hybrid bonding process and are expected to bring about an effect of increasing semiconductor yield through void removal. In addition, it is expected that it can be utilized as a system that meets the convex variable amount required for each device by adjusting the elongation amount of the piezo actuator coupled to the flexible mechanism in a precise unit.

  • Most 3D displays that are currently in the market adopt the binocular disparity method creating a different image for the left and right eye for a 3 dimensional effect. However, commercialized 3D image output devices lack in performance making it uncomfortable for the viewer and restrict the viewer to certain positions. In this paper, we propose a single-cell polarized lens type stereoscopic system which has a smaller viewing angle and reduced crosstalk, with improved light penetration compared to existing double-cell structures; and analyzed the single-cell polarized lens type stereoscopic system properties, and conducted an effect analysis of performance improvement compared to the dual-cell type. Results showed that the single-cell type had a 25% improved performance, and the 3D crosstalk index which is an important index for quality characteristics of stereoscopic systems, increased over about 37%, compared to the dual-cell type.

  • This paper presents the design and experimental analysis of a cryogenic refrigeration system for -100 ℃, primarily intended for semiconductor etching process. The refrigeration system utilizes non-flammable mixed refrigerant Joule-Thomson refrigeration cycle, incorporating a precooling stage to enhance overall performance. The selected refrigerants for the system include R1234yf for the precooling stage, and Ar, R14, R23 and R218 for the main cooling stage of the Joule-Thomson refrigeration cycle. Design results according to the system constraints and experimental results are discussed, including lowest evaporation temperature, compressor isentropic efficiency and overall pressure tendencies. The achieved refrigerant fraction from optimal design is Ar: R14: R23: R218 = 0.15: 0.4: 0.15: 0.3, indicating COP of 0.1118 at the isentropic compressor efficiency of 50%. The experimental result shows the developed system reaches steady state in approximately 3 hours.
