Production of Amylase by a Filamentous Fungus, Strain FM04, and Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Food Waste (사상균 FM04에 의한 Amylase 생산 및 음식물 쓰레기의 효소학적 가수분해)

  • A filamentous fungus, strain FM04 producing amylase was isolated from rotten yam peels and potatoes. The favorable conditions of cultivation factors such as, temperature, pH, and agitation speed of strain FM04 were 28∼30$^{\circ}C$, 5.0∼6.0, and 100 rpm, respectively. Starch was the best carbon source in the amylase production. Therefore, food wastes containing lots of starch were employed as the carbon source of the cultivation for the economical amylase production. 5.2 U/ml of amylase was obtained In the cultivation using 1 % (w/v) of food wastes. The amylase showed the highest activity at enzyme reaction conditions of 60$^{\circ}C$ and pH 4.5 and showed 90% of residual activity after the reaction at 50$^{\circ}C$ for 2 days. In the enzymatic hydrolysis reaction using 20% (w/v) of food wastes and 2.5 U/ml of amylase, 72.6 g/l of reducing sugar was obtained at the reaction condition of 50$^{\circ}C$, pH 4.5 for 2 days.

  • The rates of hydrolysis of aryl phenylacetates have been measured in the presence of piperidine in 80% acetonitrile-20% water(v/v). For the electron withdrawing substituents of leaving group, the hydrolysis is catalyzed by a general base and the Hammett $\rho_{LG}$ and Bronsted value $\beta$ are 5.28 and -2.72 at $30^{\circ}C$, respectively. These high senstivities of Hammett and Bronsted values are $E1_{C}B$ mechanism. But in the electron donating ones, the hydrolysis is catalyzed by a specific base and $B_{AC}2 mechanism is predominated. $pK_{SH}'s of phenylacetic acid ester and rate constants of hydrolysis $k_1$, $k_{-1)$, $k_2$ were calculated.

DC 마그네트론 스퍼터법으로 Al 박막의 형성 시 실시간 전기저항 측정에 대한 연구

  • 최근 전자산업의 발전은 형상 면에서 경박 단소화로 급속하게 진행되고 있으며, 전자소자 내부에서의 배선재료로 사용되고 있는 알루미늄(Al) 박막의 두께 역시 얇아지고 있다. 두께가 20 nm 이하로 작은 극박막 범위에서 박막의 두께 증가에 따라 전기가 잘 흐르기 시작하는 박막의 최소두께로 정의 되는 유착두께를 실시간으로 측정하는 방법을 구현하고 임의의 금속박막과 기판의 조합에 있어서 각각의 재료에 대한 유착두께를 제공함으로써 향후 미세전자소자의 제작시 배선 재료의 선택에 대한 기초자료를 축적할 수 있다. 또한 금속박막의 증착공정 직전에 기판을 표면처리 하여 기판을 활성화시킬 때 표면처리가 박막의 유착두께에 미치는 영향에 대해 박막의 미세구조 변화 관점에서 연구함으로써 여러 가지 금속박막에 대한 유착두께를 줄일 수 있는 방법을 도출 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 유리 기판 위에 사진 식각 공정으로 패턴을 형성하고 패턴이 형성된 유리 기판은 스퍼터에 연결된 4 point probe에 구리 도선으로 연결한 후 DC 마그네트론 스퍼터법으로 Al을 증착하면서 실시간으로 시간에 따른 전기저항을 측정을 하였다. 이때 스퍼터 내부 진공도는 $4.6\;{\times}\;10^{-5}\;torr$ 까지 낮춰준 후 Al을 증착 할 때 진공도는 $1.1\;{\times}\;10^{-2}\;torr$로 맞춰주고 Ar 가스를 20 sccm 넣어준다. 1초 간격으로 전기저항을 측정한 결과 25초대에 전기저항이 급격히 감소하였으며 이때 Al 박막의 두께는 $120{\AA}$ 이고 이 두께에서부터 전류의 흐름이 좋은 것을 알 수 있다. 박막 두께에 따른 특성을 알기위해 UV 영역의 빛을 사용하는 광전자 분광기(Photoelectron Spectrometer)를 이용해 일함수를 측정하였다. Al 의 일반적인 일함수는 4.28 eV 이며, 두께가 $120{\AA}$일 때의 일함수는 4.2 eV로 거의 비슷한 값을 얻었다. 전류가 잘 흐르기 전인 12초대에서 두께가 $60{\AA}$일 때 일함수는 4.00 eV 이고 전류가 흐르기 시작한 후 50초대에서 Al 박막 두께가 $200{\AA}$ 일 때 일함수는 4.28 eV 로 일반적인 Al의 일함수와 같은 값을 얻을 수 있었다. 광전자 분광기술은 전자소자에서 중요한 전자의 성능예측에 도움을 줄 수 있으며 물질의 표면에서 더욱 다양한 정보를 얻을 수 있다. 또한 실시간 전기저항 측정을 통한 금속박막의 전기전도 특성과 미세구조에 대한 기초 자료를 제공함으로써 신기술 발전에 공헌할 것이다.

Effects of Aloe Extract on the Protection of Hair (알로에 추출물이 모발보호에 미치는 영향)

  • To protect healthy and beautiful hair, the hair protection effect was tested by adding an aloe extract from the hair solution. The treatment groups were grouped into four categories: Group II (Famma Treatment Only), Group III (Oxidase+aloe), Group IV (Reduce+aloe), and Group V (Oxidase+aloe, Release+aloe). The test hair is collected from women's hair in their 20s, 30s and 40s who have not undergone chemical treatment such as permanent and dying for one year and use 100% aloe stock solution. In order to evaluate hair thickness, cuticles, tensile strength, elongation and formation rate, the experiment environment was 28.9 degrees and 72% humidity. All statistical tests were done at 5% significant level. Cuticle, elongation, and formation rate were significantly improved (P<.05) and cuticle was best in group V, elongation was group III. In conclusion, aloe added to perm treatment were effective in improving cuticle, elongation rate, and formation of hair.

Study on the Characteristics of GaInP/AlGaInP Heterojunction Photovoltaic Cells under Concentrated Illumination (집광 조건에서의 GaInP/AlGaInP 이종접합 구조 태양전지 특성 연구)

  • The feasibility of replacing the tope cell of pn GaInP homojunction with our GaInP/AlGaInP heterojunction structure in III-V semiconductor multijunction photovoltaic (MJPV) cells having the highest current conversion efficiency was investigated. The performance of photovoltaic (PV) cells grown on $2^{\circ}$ and $10^{\circ}$ off-oriented GaAs substrates were compared to each other. The PV cells on the $10^{\circ}$ off-cut substrate showed higher short-circuit current density ($J_{sc}$) and conversion efficiency values than that of using the $2^{\circ}$ one. For $2{\times}2mm^2$ area PV cell on $10^{\circ}$ off substrate, the $J_{sc}$ of $9.21mA/cm^2$ and the open-circuit voltage of 1.38 V were measured under 1 sun illumination. For $5{\times}5mm^2$ cell on $10^{\circ}$ off substrate, the conversion efficiency was decreased from 6.03% (1 sun) to 5.28% (20 sun) due to a decrease in fiill factor (FF).

Electrical Characteristics of SiC MOSFET Utilizing Gate Oxide Formed by Si Deposition (Si 증착 이후 형성된 게이트 산화막을 이용한 SiC MOSFET의 전기적 특성)

  • In this study, we investigated the electrical characteristics of SiC MOSFETs by depositing Si and oxidizing it to form the gate oxide layer. A thin Si layer was deposited approximately 20 nm thick on top of the SiC epi layer, followed by oxidation to form a gate oxide layer of around 55 nm. We compared devices with gate oxide layers produced by oxidizing SiC in terms of interface trap density, on-resistance, and field-effect mobility. The fabricated devices achieved improved interface trap density (~8.18 × 1011 eV-1cm-2), field-effect mobility (27.7 cm2/V·s), and on-resistance (12.9 mΩ·cm2).

Band Gap Tuning in Nanoporous TiO2-ZrO2 Hybrid Thin Films

  • Nanoporous TiO2 and ZrO2 thin films were spin-coated using a surfactant-templated approach from Pluronic P123 (EO20PO70EO20) as the templating agent, titanium alkoxide (Ti(OC4H9)4) as the inorganic precursor, and butanol as a the solvent. The control of the electronic structure of TiO2 is crucial for its various applications. We found that the band gap of the hybrid nanoporous thin films can be easily tuned by adding an acetylacetonestabilized Zr(OC4H9)4 precursor to the precursor solution of Ti(OC4H9)4. Pores with a diameter of 5 nm-10 nm were randomly dispersed and partially connected to each other inside the films. TiO2 and ZrO2 thin films have an anatase structure and tetragonal structure, respectively, while the TiO2-ZrO2 hybrid film exhibited no crystallinity. The refractive index was significantly changed by varying the atomic ratio of titanium to zirconium. The band gap for the nanoporous TiO2 was estimated to 3.43 eV and that for the TiO2-ZrO2 hybrid film was 3.61 eV.

  • For the W-band remote sensing radiometer, direct detection type radiometer receiver is designed. The receiver should be low noise and high gain of 60 dB unlike communication and radar receiver. The W-band radiometer consist of 4-stage low noise, high gain amplifier, band pass filter and square law detector. The developed direct detection receiver show 4 GHz bandwidth, 56 dB gain, and 4,500 mV/mW voltage sensitivity at integrator output port for -20 dBm input power at 94 GHz.

Anaerobic Digestion Biochemical Sludge Produced from Municipal Sewage Treatment Process (하수처리시설에서 발생된 약품 잉여슬러지의 혐기성 소화 특성)

  • This study was carried out to get the characteristics of anaerobic digestion for chemical/biological sludge produced from municipal sewage treatment plant for phosphorus. Anaerobic mesophilic batch tests showed that the ultimate biodegradability of waste activated sludge showed 31%, PACl sludge 24%, Alum sludge 26%, respectively. At the S/I 1.0, 75% of total biodegradable volatile solids (TBVS) of waste activated sludge was degraded with an initial rapid decay coefficient, k1 of $0.1129day^{-1}$ and 74% of TBVS of PACl sludge with k1 of $0.0998day^{-1}$, and 76% of TBVS of Alum sludge with k1 of $0.1091day^{-1}$ for 20 days. During the operation of SCFMRs, the 3 reactor (Control, PACl, Alum) pH maintained 6.7~7.0 and the reactor alkalinity maintained 1,800~ 2,200 mg/L as $CaCO_3$. The average biogas production rates of SCFMRs fed with PACl sludge and Alum sludge were 0.089 v/v-d and 0.091 v/v-d, respectively, which was 27~28% lower than that of the control (0.124 v/v-d) at an HRT (hydraulic retention times) of 20 days. And the methane content during the operation ranged 70~76% in 3 reactor. The average TVS removal efficiency of SCFMRs fed with PACl sludge and Alum sludge were 19.6% and 19.9%, respectively, at an HRT of 20 days, which showed 4% lower than that of the control (23.8%). The average BVS removal efficiency of SCFMRs fed with PACl sludge and Alum sludge were 25.8% and 26.9%, respectively, at an HRT of 20 days, which was 8~9% lower than that of the control (34.5%).

  • The green peach aphid(Myzus pericae Sulzer) was selected over 20 generations with cypermethrin and pirmicarb, respectively. The resulting resistant strains were tested to inverting-ate the development of insecticide resistance and cross-resistance to some insecticides in the laboratory. The development of insecticide resistance against green peach aphid at the 20th selected generation was greatly varied with the insecticides: 20.5 fold for cypermethrin and 3.2 fold for pirimicarb compared with the parent strain. The cypermethrin selected strain exhibited cross resistance to acephate and pirimicarb, and pirimicarb selected strain to acephate and cypermethrin, respectively. Demeton-S-methyl, however, has not been shown cross-resistance by the selected strains.
