Parallel Algorithms for Finding Consensus of Circular Strings (환형문자열에 대한 대표문자열을 찾는 병렬 알고리즘)

  • The consensus problem is finding a representative string, called a consensus, of a given set S of k strings. Circular strings are different from linear strings in that the last symbol precedes the first symbol. Given a set S of circular strings of length n over an alphabet ${\Sigma}$, we first present an $O({\mid}{\Sigma}{\mid}nlogn)$ time parallel algorithm for finding a consensus of S minimizing both radius and distance sum when k=3 using O(n) threads. Then we present an $O({\mid}{\Sigma}{\mid}n^2logn)$ time parallel algorithm for finding a consensus of S minimizing distance sum when k=4 using O(n) threads. Finally, we compare execution times of our algorithms implemented using CUDA with corresponding sequential algorithms.

Toward a Key-frame Automatic Extraction Method for Video Storyboard Surrogates Based on Users' EEG Signals and Discriminant Analysis (뇌파측정기술(EEG)과 판별분석을 이용한 영상물의 키프레임 자동 분류 방안 연구)

  • This study proposed a key-frame automatic extraction method for video storyboard surrogates based on users' cognitive responses, EEG signals and discriminant analysis. Using twenty participants, we examined which ERP pattern is suitable for each step, assuming that there are five image recognition and process steps (stimuli attention, stimuli perception, memory retrieval, stimuli/memory comparison, relevance judgement). As a result, we found that each step has a suitable ERP pattern, such as N100, P200, N400, P3b, and P600. Moreover, we also found that the peak amplitude of left parietal lobe (P7) and the latency of FP2 are important variables in distinguishing among relevant, partial, and non-relevant frames. Using these variables, we conducted a discriminant analysis to classify between relevant and non-relevant frames.

A Feasibility Study on Opportunistic Interference Alignment: Improved Energy Efficiency via Power Control (기회적 간섭 정렬의 실현 가능성 연구: 전력 제어를 통한 에너지 효율성 개선)

  • In this paper, we introduce an energy-efficient opportunistic interference alignment (OIA) scheme that greatly improves the sum-rates in multi-cell uplink networks. Each user employs optimal transmit vector design and power control in the sense of minimizing the amount of generated interference to other-cell base stations while satisfying a required signal quality. As our main result, it is shown that owing to the reduced interference level, the proposed OIA schemes attains larger sum-rates than those of OIA with no power control for almost all signal-to-noise ratio regions. In addition, when both zero-forcing and minimum mean square error (MMSE) detectors are employed at the receiver along with the OIA scheme, it is shown that the OIA scheme with MMSE detection shows superior performance.

  • Sidelobe canceller(SLC) requires main beam pattern(SUM beam) and auxiliary beam patterns for rejection of sidelobe noise jammer. For best performance of sidelobe noise jamming cancellation of adaptive SLC, gain dominant region of each auxiliary beam pattern shall not be overlapped one another in elevation/azimuth regions of sidelobe of main beam, and beam patterns of auxiliary channels should have low gains in regions of mainlobe of main beam. In the monopulse radar, the difference beam patterns for monopulse processing have these properties. This paper proposes the method using data from the difference channel for monopulse processing as data from auxiliary channel for sidelobe cancellation. For the proposed SLC, the results of simulation and performance analysis was presented. If the proposed method is used in the monopulse radar, SLC can be constructed by using basic SUM and difference channels without extra channel composition.

  • In order to deal with the globally increasing electric power demand and reduce $CO_2$ emission, complex thermoelectric power plants are being constructed in densely populated downtown areas. As the environmental regulations are continuously strengthened, various facilities like low NOx burner and SCR are being installed to reduce NOx emission. This study is applied using the TMS emission of $NO_2$ from combined heat and power plant located in Goyang-si Gyeonggi-do. Applying data to the computational fluid dynamics(CFD), and compared with the actual measurement results. It is judged that even though there might be differences between actual measurements and CFD results due to the instant changes of wind direction and wind speed according to measurement time during measurement period, modeling results and actual measurement results showed similar concentration at most forecasting areas and therefore, the forecasting concentration could be deducted which is close to actual measurement by calculating the contribution concentration considering the surrounding concentration in the future.

Effects of Treatment of Silane Coupling Agent in MPS Concentration on the Shear Bond Strength between Self Curing Resins and Heat Curing Resin (Silane coupling agent인 MPS 농도별처리에 따른 열중합 레진과 자가중합 레진 간의 전단결합강도)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the surface treatment of widely used in dental of silane coupling agent concentration on the shear bond strength of denture base resin and self curing resins. Denture base resin surface was treated with silane coupling agent concentration, after self curing resins were injected shear bond strength was measured. The results of silane coupling agent(MPS) concentration on the shear bond strength of Vertex self curing resin showed that the value of 5%, 7% groups were higher than that of other group(P<0.05). Silane coupling agent concentration on the shear bond strength of Kooliner resin showed that the value of 5% was highest(P<0.05). Therefore, we could conclude 5% MPS to strengthen effectively the shear bonding property of denture base resin and self curing resins of this study.

  • Depression and mental illness across all age groups, and steady increasing in suicide rate are our major social problems which cause dramatically decreasing government competitiveness. While Korean government has implemented various policies to improve mental health and prevent suicide, it faces revealing issues in progress on implementation and referral management systems. The current research examined domestic and foreign cases to understand the actual status and directivity of ICT convergence plan in terms of mental health. The United States and the United Kingdom have provided convergent ICT service, telepsychiatric care to senior citizens in rural areas, children and adolescents, socially disadvantaged class, etc. In Korea, emergency-notice devices are installed to prevent suicide for single elderly people, and diverse mobile health devices are developing to cure depression and Alzheimer's disease. ICT convergent mental health care service is needed to save socioeconomic costs and realize universal welfare for an aging society. Social consensus on sharply conflict issues, medical law and medical devices about telepsychiatry service, effectiveness studies on users' unique psychiatric characteristics by life cycle, and region-specialized strategies for the least densely populated rural regions with lower access to medical care should be considered.

Simulated Annealing for Two-Agent Scheduling Problem with Exponential Job-Dependent Position-Based Learning Effects (작업별 위치기반 지수학습 효과를 갖는 2-에이전트 스케줄링 문제를 위한 시뮬레이티드 어닐링)

  • In this paper, we consider a two-agent single-machine scheduling problem with exponential job-dependent position-based learning effects. The objective is to minimize the total weighted completion time of one agent with the restriction that the makespan of the other agent cannot exceed an upper bound. First, we propose a branch-and-bound algorithm by developing some dominance /feasibility properties and a lower bound to find an optimal solution. Second, we design an efficient simulated annealing (SA) algorithm to search a near optimal solution by considering six different SAs to generate initial solutions. We show the performance superiority of the suggested SA using a numerical experiment. Specifically, we verify that there is no significant difference in the performance of %errors between different considered SAs using the paired t-test. Furthermore, we testify that random generation method is better than the others for agent A, whereas the initial solution method for agent B did not affect the performance of %errors.

Marriage Problem Algorithm based on the Maximum Dispreference Sum-Delete Method (최대 반감도 합-삭제 방법에 기반한 결혼문제 알고리즘)

  • In this paper proposes a stable marriage algorithm. The proposed algorithm firstly constructs an $n{\times}n$ matrix of men's and women's sum preference over opposite sex $p_{ij}$. It then repeatedly deletes row or column corresponding to the then maximum dispreference sum $_{max}p_{ij}$ until ${\forall}(|r_i|=1{\cap}|c_j|=1)$. If $|r_i|=1$ or $|c_j|=1$ then we select the $p_{ij}$ of $|r_i|=1$ or $|c_j|=1$ then the row or column values are deleted repeatedly until ${\forall}(|r_i|=1{\cap}|c_j|=1)$. When tested on 7 stable marriage problems, the proposed algorithm has proved to improve on the existing solutions.

Influence of Safety Culture Perception, Safety Control and Safety Management Activities as Perceived for Nurses in Nursing Home (융복합의 장기요양시설 간호사의 환자안전문화인식과 안전통제감이 안전관리활동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study has been done to identify the effect of safety culture perception, safety control and safety management activities as perceived by nursing home nurses. A total of 146 cases recruited safety culture perception, safety control and safety management activities. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 21.0 Program. The factor that had the most impact on safety management activities were safety culture perception (${\beta}=.40$, p<.001), safety control (${\beta}=.27$, p=.002), experience of safety education (${\beta}=.19$, p=.015), age (${\beta}=.19$, p=.027). The regression model explained 34.5% of the variances(F=5.51, p<.001). The study finding suggests that to develop the program with achievement of safety management activities for nurses of the nursing home.
