  • We prove the existence of a unique positive solution for a class of systems of the following nonlinear suspension bridge equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions and periodic conditions $$\{{u_{tt}+u_{xxxx}+\frac{1}{4}u_{ttxx}+av^+={\phi}_{00}+{\epsilon}_1h_1(x,t)\;\;in\;(-\frac{\pi}{2},\frac{\pi}{2}){\times}R,\\{v_{tt}+v_{xxxx}+\frac{1}{4}u_{ttxx}+bu^+={\phi}_{00}+{\epsilon}_2h_2(x,t)\;\;in\;(-\frac{\pi}{2},\frac{\pi}{2}){\times}R,$$ where $u^+={\max}\{u,0\},\;{\epsilon}_1,\;{\epsilon}_2$ are small number and $h_1(x,t)$, $h_2(x,t)$ are bounded, ${\pi}$-periodic in t and even in x and t and ${\parallel} h_1{\parallel}={\parallel} h_2{\parallel}=1$. We first show that the system has a positive solution, and then prove the uniqueness by the contraction mapping principle on a Banach space

  • In this Paper, we report the experimental results of the Forward-flyback U-U converter with current doubler and synchronous rectifier. The experimental converter, that has a output voltage 3.3V, output current 20A, maximum power of 66W, switching frequency of 290kHz and input voltage range of 36-75V, has been successfully implemented. As a result, in the entire voltage range the measured full load efficiency was above 85$\%$, and the output voltage was regulated at 3.3V within $\pm3{\%}$ tolerance.

  • Let G = (V, E) be a simple connected graph. The sets of vertices and edges of G are denoted by V = V (G) and E = E(G), respectively. In such a simple molecular graph, vertices represent atoms and edges represent bonds. The distance between the vertices $u$ and $v$ in V (G) of graph G is the number of edges in a shortest path connecting them, we denote by $d(u,v)$. In graph theory, we have many invariant polynomials for a graph G. In this paper, we focus on the Schultz polynomial, Modified Schultz polynomial, Hosoya polynomial and their topological indices of a molecular graph circumcoronene series of benzenoid $H_k$ and specially third member from this family. $H_3$ is a basic member from the circumcoronene series of benzenoid and its conclusions are base calculations for the Schultz polynomial and Hosoya polynomial of the circumcoronene series of benzenoid $H_k$ ($k{\geq}3$).

  • The purpose of this study was to construct land cover maps using a deep learning model and to select the optimal deep learning model for land cover classification by adjusting the dataset such as input image size and Stride application. Two types of deep learning models, the U-net model and the DeeplabV3+ model with an Encoder-Decoder network, were utilized. Also, the combination of the two deep learning models, which is an Ensemble model, was used in this study. The dataset utilized RapidEye satellite images as input images and the label images used Raster images based on the six categories of the land use of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as true value. This study focused on the problem of the quality improvement of the dataset to enhance the accuracy of deep learning model and constructed twelve land cover maps using the combination of three deep learning models (U-net, DeeplabV3+, and Ensemble), two input image sizes (64 × 64 pixel and 256 × 256 pixel), and two Stride application rates (50% and 100%). The evaluation of the accuracy of the label images and the deep learning-based land cover maps showed that the U-net and DeeplabV3+ models had high accuracy, with overall accuracy values of approximately 87.9% and 89.8%, and kappa coefficients of over 72%. In addition, applying the Ensemble and Stride to the deep learning models resulted in a maximum increase of approximately 3% in accuracy and an improvement in the issue of boundary inconsistency, which is a problem associated with Semantic Segmentation based deep learning models.

  • Consider a class of p(x)-Kirchhoff type equations of the form $$\left\{-M\left({\int}_{\Omega}\;\frac{1}{p(x)}{\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^{p(x)}\;dx\right)\;div\;({\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^{p(x)-2}{\nabla}u)={\lambda}V(x){\mid}u{\mid}^{q(x)-2}u\;in\;{\Omega},\\u=0\;on\;{\partial}{\Omega},$$ where p(x), $q(x){\in}C({\bar{\Omega}})$ with 1 < $p^-\;:=inf_{\Omega}\;p(x){\leq}p^+\;:=sup_{\Omega}p(x)$ < N, $M:{\mathbb{R}}^+{\rightarrow}{\mathbb{R}}^+$ is a continuous function that may be degenerate at zero, ${\lambda}$ is a positive parameter. Using variational method, we obtain some existence and multiplicity results for such problem in two cases when the weight function V (x) may change sign or not.

  • This paper is concerned with the following Schrödinger-Poisson system $$\{\begin{array}{lll}-{\Delta}u+V(x)u+K(x){\phi}u=a(x){\mid}u{\mid}^{p-2}u&&\text{ in }{\mathbb{R}}^3,\\-{\Delta}{\phi}=K(x)u^2&&\text{ in }{\mathbb{R}}^3,\end{array}$$ where 4 < p < 6. For the case that K is nonnegative, V and a are indefinite, we prove the above problem possesses one ground state sign-changing solution with exactly two nodal domains by constraint variational method and quantitative deformation lemma. Moreover, we show that the energy of sign-changing solutions is larger than that of the ground state solutions. The novelty of this paper is that the potential a is indefinite and allowed to vanish at infinity. In this sense, we complement the existing results obtained by Batista and Furtado [5].

  • The present study was conducted to explore relationships between anemia and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and urine microalbumin/creatinine ratio (uACR) in Korean adults with or without metabolic syndrome (MetS). The data of 4,943 adults aged ≥20 years who participated in KNHNES V-3 (2012) were analyzed. In the non-MetS group, the odds ratio (OR) for anemia of those with a decreased eGFR {eGFR<60 mL/min/1.73 m2, 3.85 (95% confidence interval [CI], 2.03~7.30)} was significant as was the OR of those with decreased eGFR plus elevated uACR (eGFR<60 mL/min/1.73 m2 and uACR≥30 mg/g, 5.81 [95% CI, 2.60~13.02]). In the MetS group, ORs for anemia for those with an elevated uACR (2.18 [95% CI, 1.11~4.27]), a decreased eGFR (3.74 [95% CI, 1.11~12.55]), or a decreased eGFR plus an elevated uACR (16.79 [95% CI, 5.93~47.57]) were significant. In conclusion, in non-MetS, anemia was associated with a low eGFR, whereas in MetS, anemia was associated with a low eGFR and an elevated uACR. In addition, the OR for anemia was greatly increased when eGFR was diminished and uACR was elevated regardless of MetS and MetS status.

  • A series of dilatometer test, field vane test, and $CK_0U$ triaxial test were performed for clayey soils of Busan new port site to develop the relationships between undrained shear strength and the DMT results. Normalized undrained shear strength is turned out to be $S_{u(CKU)}/{\sigma}'_v=0.30{\sim}0.35\;for\;CK_0U$ triaxial test and ${\mu}S_{u(VST)}/{\sigma}'_v=0.20{\sim}0.22$ for vane shear test. By comparing the undrained shear strength estimated from DMT indices with the results measured by in-situ vane test or $CK_0U$ triaxial test, two methods to predict the undrained shear strength from DMT results are suggested. One is based on the relationship between $S_u/{\sigma}'_v$ and horizontal stress index (KD) while another method comes from $N_c-I_D$ and $N_c-E_D$ correlation. It was observed that the method based on $N_c-I_D\;or\;N_c-E_D$ relation shows slightly better accuracy than the one based on $K_D$ although all of the methods suggested in this study provided comparable values of predicted undrained shear strength. Since the definitions of $I_D\;and\;E_D$ contain $p_1-p_0$, in which soil condition is reflected, it is believed that the prediction method using $N_c$ is capable of taking a material type into consideration.

  • Extending [14], we establish the existence of multiple positive solutions for a Schrödinger-type singular elliptic equation: $$\{{-{\Delta}u+V(x)u={\lambda}{\frac{f(u)}{u^{\beta}}},\;x{\in}{\Omega}, \atop u=0,\;x{\in}{\partial}{\Omega},$$ where 0 ∈ Ω is a bounded domain in ℝN, N ≥ 1, with a smooth boundary ∂Ω, β ∈ [0, 1), f ∈ C[0, ∞), V : Ω → ℝ is a bounded function and λ is a positive parameter. In particular, when f(s) > 0 on [0, σ) and f(s) < 0 for s > σ, we establish the existence of at least three positive solutions for a certain range of λ by using the method of sub and supersolutions.
