  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between family strength and career decision-making difficulties and the mediating effect or career self-regulation. The results of the present study suggested the significance of family strength and career self-regulation in understanding career decision-making difficulties. With 172 Korean college students, there were both significant direct and indirect effects from family strength to career decision-making difficulties. Specifically, the mediation roles of career self-regulation was confirmed. Comparing the partial mediation model with full mediation model, the partial mediation model fits better with the data. These results have significant clinical implication that counseling practitioners need to address the possible influence of family strength on college student's perceived difficulties in career decision-making process and to assist students develop appropriate level of competencies of regulating one's emotion, thoughts, and behavior related to career problems.

  • Two studies were conducted to investigate the interactive effect between temporal proximity of utility value and self-efficacy on situational interest and reengagement motivation. In study 1, university students were provided with either proximal or distal values of mental calculation task. Hierarchical regression analyses showed a significant interaction effect between distal utility value and high self-efficacy, indicating that distal utility value was more effective to induce situational interest and reengagement motivation for students with higher level of self-efficacy. In study 2, we replicated study 1 with high school students to investigate developmental differences and found the same results. These findings suggest that it is important to consider the level of self-efficacy and proximity of utility value in designing value intervention program.

  • In this study, we tried to fabricate self - healing microcapsules using liquid inorganic materials which can be mixed directly with cement composites. The basic properties of the liquid inorganic material were evaluated and microencapsulation was performed. The focus of this paper is on the quality and manufacturing characteristics of cement composites rather than the healing effects of self - healing microcapsules according to mixed capsules. Test results, the self-healing microcapsules encapsulate liquid inorganic material which is stable at room temperature and has high crack followability, and the yield is over 90%. The size of self - healing microcapsule was able to change according to the synthetic agitation speed and it was able to secure more than 70% of target size. In addition, the loss of less than 10% was found to occur through the membrane strengthening of self - healing microcapsules, and it could be reduced by 50% compared with the case without membrane strengthening.

  • Recently, as students' programming classes are being conducted online, interest in factors that can lead to the success of online programming classes is also increasing. Therefore, in this study, online programming classes were conducted for specialized high school students using a web-based simulation programming tool through TinkerCad. In these online programming classes, students' self-regulation ability and learning flow were set as variables that influence both learning engagement and teaching presence, and the predictive power of each was analyzed. As a result, it was found that both self-regulation ability and learning flow were predictive variables for learning engagement and teaching presence, and that learning flow played a mediating role between self-regulation ability, learning engagement, and teaching presence. This study is meaningful in that it suggested that self-regulation ability and learning flow should be considered more meaningfully in online programming classes, and a practical strategy for this is presented.

  • As the risk of privacy invasion due to self-disclosure increases in SNS environment, many studies have tried to discover the influencing factors of self-disclosure. This study is an extension of this research stream and pays attention to the role of interaction privacy controls(friend list and privacy settings) as a new influencing factor. Specifically, the study theorizes and test the logic that the ability to effectively control interactions between individuals using IPC(called IPC usefulness) satisfies the three psychological needs(autonomy, relationship, and competency needs) suggested by the Self-Determination Theory, and in turn increase the amount of self-disclosure. As a result of data analysis, it was found that IPC usefulness has a very strong influence on the satisfaction of psychological needs and is a major factor in increasing the degree of self-disclosure by users. Based on these findings, the study discusses the theoretical and practical implications as well as future research directions.

  • In this study, the self-healing hybrid capsules were prepared, were mixed with 3 %, 5 %, and 7 % based on cement mass. The healing performance were evaluated according to mixing ratio self-healing hybrid capsule. As a result of the experiment, it was found that the crack healing performance improved as the mixing rate of the self-healing hybrid capsule increased, but the quality performance tended to decrease. Therefore, it is judged that using the mixing ratio of the hybrid capsule within 5 % reduces the quality performance to within about 10 % and secures about 90 % or more of the healing performance.

  • Internet addiction, one of adverse effects of the informatization, has become a very serious social problem. The purpose of this study is to seek solutions for the adverse effects of the informatization by analyzing the causal factors of internet addiction to maximize prevention of the internet addiction for college students. The three causal factors of the internet addiction: personal factors, familial factors, and social environmental factors are defined as the second confirmatory factors, and the first confirmatory factors for the each second confirmatory factor are reviewed for influential factors of internet addiction. The study concluded that the personal factors are the most influential factors of internet addiction for college students; furthermore, self-control and self-efficacy are key variables of the personal factors. Therefore, it can be effective ways to prevent internet addiction if countermeasures on self-control and self-efficacy of the personal factors are presented.

  • This study investigated the psychosocial characteristics of children and adolescents who were addicted to internet. 1107 children and adolescents were administered several self-report inventories assessing internet addiction, internet expectancy, self-control, parent-adolescent communication, parent control of internet, peer relation, and loneliness. Results indicated that internet addicted adolescents had more expectancy for internet, less self-control, more dysfunctional communication with parents, and more withdrawn from peers than non-addicted. To determine relative contributions of these variables, multiple regression was conducted. It was demonstrated that internet expectancy, self-control, dysfunctional parentadolescent communication, and parent control of internet explained adolescent internet addiction.
