A Brief Clustering Measurement for the Korean Container Terminals Using Neural Network based Self Organizing Maps (자기조직화지도 신경망을 이용한 국내 컨테이너터미널의 클러스터링 측정소고)

  • The purpose of this paper is to show the clustering measurement way for Korean container terminals by using neural network based SOM(Self Organizing Map). Inputs[Number of Employee, Quay Length, Container Terminal Area, Number of Gantry Crane], and output[TEU] are used for 3 years(2002,2003, and 2004) for 8 Korean container terminals by applying both DEA and SOM models. Empirical main results are as follows: First, the result of DEA analysis shows the possibility for clustering among the terminals and reference terminals except Gamcheon and Gwangyang terminals because of the locational closeness. Second, the result of neural network based SOM clustering analysis shows the positive clustering in clustering positions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Third, the results between SOM clustering and DEA clustering show the matching ratio about 67%. The main policy implication based on the findings of this study is that the port policy planner of Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs in Korea should introduce the clustering measurement way for the Korean container terminals using neural network based SOM with DEA models for clustering Korean ports and terminals.

A Comparative Study on Green Liquor Pre-Pulping Extraction of Mixed Hardwood Chips (혼합 하드우드 칩으로부터 녹액(Green Liqour)선-펄핑추출 공정에 관한 연구)

  • Mixed hardwood chips were pre-pulping extracted with green liquor prior to kraft pulping in order to recover hemicelluloses for use as biofuels. This green liquor solution containing mainly sodium sulfide and sodium carbonate was applied at different alkali charges (expressed as $Na_2O$) of 0, 1, 3, and 5% on dry wood weight. The extractions were performed at $160^{\circ}C$ for residence times ranging from about 1-2 h to determine the effect of extraction severity on composition of the pre-pulping extract. The severity of hemicellulose extraction time and green liquor charge controls the concentration of acetic acid and monosaccharide sugars available for downstream processing, the accumulation of degradation products such as organic acids and furans in the extract. As the alkali charge was increased, the amount of acetate side chains on the hemicelluloses and the dissolved lignin in the extract increased but the carbohydrate and sugars in the extract decreased appreciably. Hot water extraction (0% alkali addition) released the greatest amount of carbohydrates, up to 29.80 g/L measured as component sugars, but resulted in the greatest decrease in pulp yield. Meanwhile, pre-pulping extraction with 3% green liquor increased the pulp yield while greatly reducing the component sugars to 7.08 g/L. Fundamental data obtained in this study will allow selection of optimum hemicellulose extraction conditions for integrating the extraction operation into the Kraft pulping process.

  • After the terrorist attack of 9/11 on the USA, the security concern to global trade has been raised. In particular, the USA has actively promoted a series of initiatives and rules such as CSI, 24 hour rule, C-TPAT, and so on in the area of logistics activities, which aimed to better protect the country against the potential terrorist threats. While implementing such schemes called as a multi-layed logistics security strategy, a large number of countries trading with USA are facing with the issues of additional time and costs for inspecting cargos in their logistics facilities. As a result, most countries all over the world have sought a way to minimize the impacts from such strategy. The Korea also is preparing the several security programs operated by various ministries, which are aiming to not only improve the efficiency of trade flows but also to ensure supply chain security. However, many companies are expressing the inefficiency of operating such programs. Thus, this paper analyzed several global supply chain security programs currently adopted by international organizations(ISO, WCO, and IMO) and major countries(USA, EU, and Singapore) and suggested a guideline for developing the national logistics security system.

A Study on the Revitalization of Railway freight transportation Through forecasting of container volumes on Busan New & North port (신항과 북항의 철도물동량 예측에 따른 철도운송 활성화 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to predict the railway cargo volume on Busan new-port and north-port, in order to revitalize railway transport. This paper is organized as follows. Section 1 presents the description of the objective and methods on this study. Section 2 presents the status of Railway Cargo volumes and Construction plan of railway facilities in Busan New port. Section 3 presents the Forecast Railway Cargo volume using a volume ratio, actual volume records and another predicted datas. Section 4 summarizes our conclusions and further research topics. Especially, korea faces enforcement of green Logistics policy. Modal shift to trail freight transportation is one of ways, but there are no more detail plans. so it need that a cooperation system in government department, a indirect subside policy shift to rail freight transportation from trucking for revitalization of Railway Freight transportation.

An Empirical Study on the Competitiveness by Satisfaction Measurement of Incheon Port (인천항 이용 만족에 따른 경쟁력에 관한 실증 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the new strategies for strengthening the competi tiveness of Incheon port. To measure the calling factors and satisfaction of ports, this study developed a list of 24 items using a seven-point Likert scale through the previous literature reviews, pilot test and emerging factors. Factor analysis, regression analysis, one sample T-test, IPA and SPSS were conducted to verify the determinants choosing ports and customer satisfaction. The result of an empirical study revealed that the cargo volume and information system, etc. in Incheon port was evaluated as satisfied factors and berth availability and port charge, etc. as dissatisfied factors. Based on the outcomes of this study, to strengthen the competitiveness of Incheon port, several strategies were advised such as the inducement of North American and European cargo, port infrastructure, dedicated terminal and GTO inducement, hinterland construction, logistics companies inducement and cooperation with neighboring ports.

Analysis on the Characteristics of Hazardous Chemical Transport Vehicle Accidents in Korea (국내 유해화학물질 운송차량사고 특성분석)

  • Purpose: In this study, the characteristics of hazardous chemical transport vehicle accidents during the last six years from 2014 to 2019 was analyzed. This study is to prevent chemical transport accidents. Method: Using statistics from the Ministry of Environment, chemical transport vehicle accidents were classified into accident type, accident cause and vehicle type. Result: Of the total 506 cases chemical accidents, 105 cases were caused by transport vehicle. More than 20 percent of total accidents were reported. Most of the accidents were caused by spill·leak. The main causes of the accident were traffic accidents(49 cases) and management negligence(29 cases). This was more than 74% of all transport vehicle accidents. By vehicle type, 57 cases(54%) were most common in tank lorries, followed by trucks (39 cases, 37%) and trailers (9 cases, 9%). Conclusion: In order to prevent accident of transport vehicle, thorough inspection of the transport vehicle is required and safe operation of the driver. In addition, the government needs to expand real-time monitoring of transport vehicles and comprehensively manage different systems by the relevant ministries.

  • 1991년 8월부터 그이듬해 7월까지 채취된 무지개 송어(Oncorhvnchus mykiu) 난모세포의발달 단계를 이해하기 위하여 광필 및 전자현미경을 이용하여 본 각구를 실시하였다. 건국 대학교 축산대학 양수.장에서 수온이 14-16$^{\circ}C$이고 용존산소량이 7.6 $\pm$ 0.3ppm. PH 5.8 $\pm$ 0.2인 자연채광 상태인 1개의 10m3 탱크에서 N R.C. 사양표준에 준한 펠렛트 배합사료를 급여하여 연중 사육중인 체중 700-1,2009의 한복새끼인 무지개 송어 암컷 120마리를 공시희.로 이용 하였다. LPO(late perinucleolus oocyte), EMO(early maturing oocyte) 단계에서 과립막 세포와 협막세포와 같은 난포막 세포는 단층구조로 부터 입 방형구조로 변화되었고. 완전한 성장, 성숙 및 과숙기에 방사대(Eons rsdiat3)에 있는 pore canals의 입구가 봉쇄되었다. 방사대는 맨바깥목에 균일하면서 점은 두께의 막과 나선형의 두꺼운 복의 2개의 막으로 구성되어 있으며. 성숙기에 있는 난모세포에는 수초 및 자갈에 붙을 수 있는 온수성 어종 보다 상대적으로 얇은 점액성의 막이 그 주위를 둘러싸고 있다. 난모세포가 성장함에 따라 세포질 주변부 및 임립등 세포내에 막대기 형태의 미토콘드리아와 비대해진 내형질세강의 육가 급증하였다. 전자밀도가 높은 소포는 방사대에 인접한 난세포질 주변부에 많이 존재하며. 이는 성장중인 방사대의 pore Canals을 통해서 간으로 부터 합성된 단백질과 탄수화물을 수송하는 것과 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 사료된다. 자연적인 조건하에서 fP포막은 난형성 및 이에 영향을 미치는 성호르몬의 발달에 충분한 대르몬을 계절에 따라 분비시키는 데에 커다란 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 지능형교통시스템 (Intelligent Transportation System: ITS) 은 도로 및 교통관리, 교통정보제공, 대중교통 및 화물차량의 운영 등 교통의 전 분야에 걸쳐 정보통신 기술, 센서 및 제어 기술을 접목함으로써 교통의 효율화와 물류비용의 절감을 목표로 하고 있다. 특히, 최근에는 전자 및 통신 기술 등 첨단기술을 활용하여 현행 교통체계를 첨단화하기 위한 노력이 빠르게 진행되고 있으며, ITS는 최근 위치정보의 폭넓은 보급과 유 무선통신기술의 발전에 따라 위치정보서비스, 텔레매틱스 서비스 등과의 결합을 통해 새로운 비즈니스 모델들을 탄생시키고 있다. 또한 기존에 중점적으로 추진되어 왔던 도로 및 차량 영역뿐만 아니라 ITS 아키텍처를 구성하는 다양한 하위 시스템들간의 통신 및 정보체계 표준화와 관계된 기술, 시스템, 서비스 등의 시장이 형성되기 시작하고 있다. 이중에서도 최근에는 이동통신기술의 발전과 복합단말의 발전을 통해 통합된 기능을 갖는 이동전화, PDA, 스마트단말 등의 개인단말 뿐만 아니라 도로와 차량내의 통신을 위한 차량탑재형 단말 등의 보급으로 단거리 무선통신기술과 스마트차드 기술을 이용한 자동요금징수시스템, 위치정보기술을 이용한 위치기반서비스, GPS를 이용하여 실시간 교통정보 서비스가 가능한 텔레매틱스 서비스 등은 본격적으로 시장을 형성해 나가고 있다. 이는 기존의 ITS 분야가 ETCS(Electric Toll Collection System), AVHS(Advanced Vehicle & Highway System), CVO(Commercial Vehicle Operation)등 교통 인프라에 초점을 맞추고 있었으나 그동안의 수익모델 부재 등으로 인해 사업자들의 적극적인 투자가 이루어지지 않아 ITS 시장 활성화에 어려움이 있어 왔다는 점을 고려해 볼 때 최근 위치정보를 이용한 사용자 서비스를 통해 민간 기업의 투자 참여와 일반 사용자들의 ITS 에 대한 관심이 매우 높아지고 있다는 점은 ITS 시장의 확대에 있어 매우 긍정적인 요인될 것으로 예상되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 ITS의 세계적인 개발 및 투자 추세, 국내의 추진 동향을 통해 살펴보고 이에 따른 국내 적용에 대한 시사점을 살펴보았다.

Conceptual Models for Evaluation of Urban Logistics Improvement (도시물류 개선 대안 평가를 위한 개념적 모형 정립)

  • This study is concerned with theoretical aspects of urban logistics with the aim of revealing limitations of the literature, suggesting directions for further studies and developing a conceptual model for evaluating policy alternatives. Several limitations have been revealed and, based on these, the directions for further studies were suggested as more effort needs to be put on microscopic aspects of urban logistics ; and integrated conceptual evaluation models need to be developed. For the models it defined microscopic evaluation factors by the subject of urban logistics activities, and with these factors it established a conceptual model. Especially it introduced the simulation models developed recently to predict the route of freight vehicles and suggested how both microscopic and macroscopic aspects of urban logistics could be evaluated.

Strategies for Attracting Passengers to Daesan International Passenger Terminal (국제여객터미널의 집객전략: 서산 대산항을 중심으로)

  • With an increases in income levels and the establishment of a five-day workweek, the number of passengers using international passenger terminals around the world continues to grow every year. However, previous researches on port sector have focused on cargo, and neglected the study on the passenger attraction strategy of the international passenger terminal. Maximizing passenger attraction strategy of the international passenger terminal requires establishing and operating the port marketing strategy, which reflects port characteristics and the tourism marketing strategy, which reflects the hinterland characteristics in an integrated approach. Therefore, the study presents a marketing mix strategy for Daesan International Passenger Terminal based on existing literatures, and a tourism marketing strategy for Seosan city based on the "6A" factor. Recommendations for the Daesan Port include the grand image improvement strategy of Seosan city, utilization of marine tourism resources and development of various tourism products linked to the neighboring areas.
