Microbiological and Chemical Analyses of Paldang Lake Water (팔당호 수질의 미생물학 및 화학적 분석)

  • To investigate the eutrophication process and pollution characteristics in Paldang Lake, Korea, water and sediment samples were analysed during July 1986~June 1987. The transparency, chlorophyll-a concentration, dissolved oxygen concentration and biochemical oxygen demand in Paldang Lake ranged 0.5~3 m, 3-17 ${\mu}gI^{-1}$, 7.2~12.3 ppm and 0.5~2.3 ppm, respectively. Heterotrophic bacterial number fluctuated seasonally between $3.0{\times}10^{3}/ml and 5.0{\times}10^{5}/ml$ in the water column and between $2{\times}10^{6} and 1{\times}10^{8}$ in the I g dry sediment. Water turbulence and water quality of up-stream seem to play important roles for determining the water quality in Paldang Lake particularly where the hydraulic retention time is so short as about 5 days. The present water quality in Paldang Lake according to the criteria of lake water quality was shown to be between mesotrophic and eutrophic state by secchi depth(O.5 ~ 3 m) and chlorophyll-a concentration (3~17 ${\mu}gI^{-1}$). The distribution of coliform bacteria showed that the pollution was mainly due to the human activities in this area and it is needed to establish countmeasurements for the problems.

The effect of fashion brand extension types, preannouncing and regulatory focus on preferences toward extension product (패션브랜드 확장 유형, 프리어나운싱, 조절초점이 확장제품의 호의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to identify the effects of fashion brand extensions types, preannouncing and consumers' regulatory focus on preference towards extension products. To that end, the study used a 2 (fashion brand extension types: similar vs. non-similar) ${\times}2$ (preannouncing: near preannouncing vs. far preannouncing) ${\times}2$ (regulatory focus: promotion focus vs. prevention focus) three mixed elements. The subjects of the study were 280 men and women in their 20~40s living in Seoul and Chungnam province and total of 229 data were analyzed. Data were analysed with SPSS 19.0 program and three-way ANOVA, simple interaction effects and simple main effects analysis were conducted. The results of this study are as follows: First there were significant differences in preference based on fashion brand extension types and preannouncing. Second, there were significant interaction effects in preference between extension types of fashion brand and regulatory focus. But there was no difference in preference toward extension products according to types of preannouncing and regulatory focus. Lastly, fashion brand extension types, preannouncing and regulatory focus showed significant interaction effects on preference. Thus even in cases of non-similar brand extensions which carry more risk of failing, the appropriate marketing communication strategies such as preannouncing will result in brand preference. Also marketing activities should be comprehensive and strategical based on consumers' tendencies in order to derive positive evaluations.

The Effect of Consumer Global-Mindedness and Global Fashion Brand Out-Of-Home Advertising on Brand Evaluation (소비자의 글로벌 마인드와 글로벌 패션 브랜드의 옥외 광고에 대한 호의도가 브랜드 평가에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate how consumer global-mindedness affects global fashion out-of-home (OOH) advertising which global consumer culture positioning applies, and to examine the relations among global fashion brand OOH advertising, perceived fashion brand globalness, perceived quality and brand reputation. Data were collected from 238 general people in 20~30s in seoul and were analyzed by using statistic methods such as frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis and structural d modelling by running both SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 7.0 program. The results of this study were as follows. First of all, it indicated that the fit indexes were satisfied and the overall model of this study showed a favorable goodness of it from the results of confirmatory analysis. Secondly, consumer global-mindedness had a positive impact on preference towards global fashion OOH advertising. Finally, preference towards global fashion brand OOH advertising positively affected perceived fashion brand globalness, perceived quality and fashion brand reputation. The results implies that it is necessary that fashion brands fully understand consumers' tendency and the benefits of marketing can be maximized through global positioning OOH advertising on subways which makes consumers recognize fashion brands as global ones.

The Moderating Effect of Level of Involvement Between Organization-public Relationships and Organizational Reputation (조직과 공중간 관계가 조직의 명성에 미치는 영향: 공중의 관여도를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore and explain how organization-public relations influence organizational reputation, accounted for by the moderating effect of level of involvement. For this purpose, a survey was conducted to 100 residents in a metropolitan city of Korea with the following five Korean organizations studied: two Korean domestic companies, a sports association, a non-profit organization, and a multinational company. Results of multiple regression analysis indicated that organization-public relationships and publics' level of involvement were significant predictors to account for organizational reputation by non-chance amount, and that level of involvement played a moderating variable role between organization-public relationships and organizational reputation.

OSMI를 이용한 달 촬영 가능 시각 결정을 위한 고속 시뮬레이터 개발

  • By utilizing OSMI (Ocean Scanning Multi-spectral Imager) onboard KOMPSAT-1, the moon can be imaged. Because the moon has no atmosphere and reflects sun lights at a constant rate, it can be the radiance source for calibration of OSMI. But there are a lot of risks which made KOMPSAT-1 enter into safe-hold mode. So planning the imaging of the moon with OSMI should be determined seriously with consideration to information on KOMPSAT-1 operation, the moon, the sun, etc. But it takes a long time for determining the imaging time of the moon using MCE(Mission Control Element) simulator and there are operational problems to be solved. In this paper, fast simulator for determining imaging time for the moon with OSMI has been developed. The proper timeline for imaging the moon and the position of the moon image in OSMI image coordinates and the phase of the moon are determined. STK was used for acquiring information on KOMPSAT-1, the moon, the sun and the characteristitcs of OSMI are considered. As a result, we can determine imaging time of the moon with OSMI much faster and efficiently.

LMS-Wiener Model for Resources Prediction of Handoff Calls in Multimedia Wireless IP Networks (멀티미디어 무선 IP 망에서 핸드오프 호의 자원예측을 위한 LMS-위너 모델)

  • Exact prediction of resource demands for future calls enhances the efficiency of the limited resource utilization in resource reservation methods for potential calls in wireless IP networks. In this paper, we propose a LMS-Wiener resource(bandwidth) prediction for future handoff calls, and then an the proposed method is compared with an existing Wiener-based method in terms of prediction error through our simulations. In our simulations, we assume that handoff call arrivals follow a non-Poisson process and each handoff call has an non-exponentially distributed channel holdingtime in the cell, considering that handoff call arrival pattern is not Poisson distribution but non-Poisson for long periods of time in wireless picocellular IP networks. Simulation results show that the prediction error in the proposed method converges to the lower value while in an existing method increase as time is passed. Therefore we may conclude that the proposed method improves the efficiency of resource utilization by more exactly predicting resource demands for future handoff calls than an existing method.

User Preference and Workload Changes According to Information Visualization Methods (정보표현방식에 따른 사용자 호의도 및 업무부하량 변화)

  • Despite the wide range of information and engineering visualization techniques available, studies in investigating the effectiveness of the techniques in visualization has been rare. The typical visualization techniques were CAD, 2D and 3D computer graphics, and virtual environment (VE) that use 3D displays of 3D. space. The objects of this study is to analyze the user preferences and workload changes according to the visualization methods of engineering drawings such as 2D CAD, 2D computer graphics, 3D computer graphics, and augmented reality which is a variation of VEs. The results showed that users preferred 3D visualization techniques to 2D visualization techniques, though there were no workloads differences. Furthermore, the 3D perspective of AR which analogies the real world could facilitate the interpretation of engineering drawings.

A Study on the 3-month Prior Prediction of Chl-a Concentraion in the Daechong Lake using Hydrometeorological Forecasting Data (수문기상예측자료를 활용한 대청호 Chl-a 3개월 선행예측연구)

  • In recently, the green algae bloom is one of the most severe challenges. The seven days prior prediction is in operation to issues the water quality warning, but it also needs a longer time of prediction to take preemptive measures. The objective of the study is to establish a method to conduct a 3-month prior prediction of Chl-a concentration in the Daechong Lake and tested its applicability as a supplementary of current water quality warning. The historical record of water quality in the Daechong Lake and seasonal forecasting of ECMWF were obtained, and its time-series characteristics were analyzed. The Chl-a forecasting model was established using a correlation between Chl-a concentration and meteorological factor and NARX model, and its efficiency was compared.

The Effects of Collaboration, Brand Origin, and Fashion Involvement of Sportswear Brands on Preference of Chinese Consumers (스포츠 웨어 브랜드의 콜라보레이션, 원산지, 유행관여도가 중국소비자의 호의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and verify interaction effects of collaboration and brand origin as well as fashion involvement on consumer attitudes towards global sports apparel brands and Chinese local sports apparel brands targeting Chinese consumers. A survey was conducted on 425 Chinese women aged 19 to 34 years. Data were subjected to frequency analysis, reliability analysis, t-tests, 3-way ANOVA, and simple effect analysis. Results of the study are as follows. First, fashion involvement, collaboration, and brand country of origin all had a significant effect on consumer preference of Chinese consumers when purchasing sportswear. Second, fashion involvement and collaboration in purchasing sportswear had a significant interaction effect on consumer preference. Finally, collaboration, brand origin, and fashion involvement showed significant three-way interaction effects on Chinese consumers' preferences. Results of this study can help establish an efficient marketing strategy for Chinese local sportswear brands, which are fiercely competing with global sportswear brands in the Chinese market because they can examine Chinese consumers' attitudes toward sportswear brands. To accurately compare global and local sportswear brands, it must be assumed that there are no differences in brand preferences among consumers. However, as this study selected each brand as the research brand ranked as the top preference, this aspect was not taken into consideration. Therefore, in future research, it is necessary to consider differences in brand preferences and conduct the study accordingly.

A study on the monitoring of stratification variability in Lake Soyang over the past 30 years (최근 30년 소양호의 성층현상 변동성 모니터링 연구)

  • 지난 140여년(1880~2022)간 지구의 연평균 기온은 약 1.5℃ 상승하였다. 이에 따라 폭염, 홍수, 가뭄 등 이상기후 발생이 급증하고 있으며, 생태계가 급격히 변화하여 담수호의 산소량 또한 급속히 감소하고 있다. 소양호는 총길이 60 km, 유역면적 2.703 km2, 최대저수량 29억톤으로, 유역면적은 북한강 유역의 25%에 달하며 북한강 상류에 위치하고 있는 국내 최대의 인공호이다. 따라서 소양호 유역의 관리는 북한강 유역의 수질 관리와 수도권 수자원 공급의 핵심 중 하나라고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 기후변화에 따라 소양호의 성층현상에도 변동이 생겼을 것으로 판단되고 있다. 호소의 성층현상은 수심에 따른 온도의 변화로 발생하는 현상으로, 성층현상이 심하면 유체는 연직운동이 제한되고 상대적으로 수평방향 운동이 활발해진다. 소양호는 수심이 매우 깊으며, 열용량이 크기 때문에 여름에 성층이 형성되는 온대일순환호(warm monomictic lake)로 분리된다. 성층현상이 심하면 호소 하부의 저층에서는 용존산소가 거의 없어 혐기성 상태가 되고, 침전된 유기물이 혐기성 미생물에 의해 분해되기 때문에 수질은 크게 악화된다. 따라서 본 연구는 30년간의 소양호의 수온과 DO의 변동을 분석하여 성층현상의 변동성을 파악하고자 하였다. 이에 따라 약 30년간(1993년 1월~2022년 12월) 0~90 m까지 측정한 수온, DO 데이터를 이용하였다. 데이터는 매달 최소 1회~최대 5회 측정된 자료 중 가장 수심이 깊게 측정된 날의 자료를 이용하였다. 1월과 2월의 데이터는 동절기로 인해 소양호 조사를 실시할 수 없어 제외하였다. 수온의 경우 30년간 서서히 증가하는 경향을 보였으며 0~90m 전반에 걸쳐서도 대체로 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한 6월에 성층현상이 더 심해지고, 겨울에는 연직운동이 감소하는 모습을 보였다. DO의 경우 용존산소가 중층에서 최저를 보이는 Metalimnetic oxygen minimum을 보였으며, 2008년까지는 거의 매년 농도 2.0mg/L 이하인 달이 있었으나 그 이후에는 회복되어 대부분 2.0 mg/L 이상을 보였다. 그러나 심층의 경우에는 2014년부터 DO 농도 3 미만으로 떨어지는 경우가 증가하였다.
