The restoration of ceramics excavated in fragments is limited by the difficulty of inferring the overall shape of the original object. However, recent innovations in digital technology can help to overcome the limits of conventional restoration using handwork. This study explored the potential of digital technology by digitally restoring a shard from a white porcelain water dropper excavated at a kiln site at Sindae-ri. In order to complete the digital restoration, 3D scanning was applied to obtain scan data, and 3D modeling and texture mapping were performed. In this way, three-dimensional data with patterns and color information was acquired and the original form of the water dropper could be ascertained based on the shard. The study found that the data acquired from digital restoration can be used for various purposes, including for obtaining data on cross-sections or missing portions of a relic.

Auxotrophs induced by UV irradiation were Iysine, arginine, methionine, and cysteine requirement. The optimal protoplast-producing conditions of Pachysolen tannophilus were obtained in 1 hr incubation treated zymolyase 0.5 mg/ml at $37-42^{\circ}C$(pH 6.5-8.5 with 0.6 M KCI as osmotic stabilizer. Cell volumn of fusants were counted in about 4 times of parents and their morphological characteristics were similar to parents which were global or egg-shaped, though in fusant, pseudohypha were observed frequently. Ethanol production of fusants were similar to parents, but arginine and methionine auxotrophs were showed increased ethanol production respectively 1.6 times and 1.25 times more than parents.

In order to investigate the biological effects of conformational changes in the folding state of bovine ${\alpha}$-lactalbumin (${\alpha}$-La), the protein was prepared and classified as apo form, microbial transglutaminase (MTGase) added form, or bovine ${\alpha}$-La made lethal to tumor cell (BAMLET) form. Apo ${\alpha}$-La form showed weaker cancer cell inhibitory activity (apoptosis) than native ${\alpha}$-La, which suggests that the metal ion-like $Ca^{2+}$ had a positive effect, whereas BAMLET form showed strong cancer cell apoptotic activity. The BAMLET form seemed to be a molten globule structure that increased hydrophobicity. MTGase added to apo ${\alpha}$-La polymer showed similar anti-cancer activity as native ${\alpha}$-La, and it was well hydrolyzed by digestive enzymes. NMR results showed that BAMLET interacted with oleic acid and produced a complex.

The great estate system of the Old World crossed the Atlantic Ocean in the 1500s along with the Spanish Royal Army, mission, merchants, crops and domestic arrivals, landing at the end of the journey in the Middle and South Americas. The latifundio of Spain's Middle Age combined with the environment of the New World to be regenerated in the name of hacienda which bad became tightly roared in the countryside landscape of New Spain by fin-de-colonial period of 1820s. The haciendas were distributed mainly over the central part of the present-dey Mexico, and the presence of water and towns determined the specific location of the large landed estates. Depending on the activities performed, the hacienda can be divided into several types such as grain hacienda, livestock hacienda, mining hacienda, henequen hacienda, and so forth. Consisting of landlords, estate managers and waged labor called peons, the hacienda as a semi-autarkic settlement played various roles as the home of church, the agrarian center and the hearth of cultural diffusion, as well as dwelling. Toward the end of the colonial period the hacienda experienced internal transformations driven by capitalism.

This study has the purpose of geopolitical analysis on the role, function and problem of (trans) frontier park in Southern Africa. Frontier parks in Southern Africa had been used as a buffer zone between colonial empires and British colonial administration during the colonial period and as an interdiction zone of communism and black liberation movement during the apartheid regime, the cold war and the civil war. The ecological transfrontier peace parks in Southern Africa which is integrating the adjacent Frontier parks is utilized as a means of a conflict resolution and peace building after the end of cold war, civil war and apartheid regime, The ecological transfrontier peace parks in Southern Africa is very highly regarded as an effective means for a conflict resolution and peace building. But it is also being criticized for a reproduction of South Africa's politico-economic domination and of a socio-spatial division between racial groups.

The bacterial diversity of the rhizosphere soil of S. japonica native to Suncheon bay was analyzed. Ninety two strains showing different morphological characteristics were isolated from the soils around the community of S. japonica. Bacterial diversity and distributions were studied by phylogenetic analysis of the partial 16S rDNA sequences. Ninety two strains were partially sequenced and analyzed phylogenetically. These strains were composed of 5 phyla firmicutes (56.5%), gamma-proteobacteria (29.3%), alpha-proteobacteria (5.4%), actinobacteria (5.4%), bacteroidetes (3.3%) and Shannon’s diversity index (H') were different from each of sampling sites (1.675, 1.924 and 2.04). Eleven isolates were presumed to be novel species candidates based on similarity analysis of the 16s rRNA gene sequences. Overall, Firmicutes and gamma-proteobacteria of the rhizosphere soil of S. japonica showed a high diversity.

The total length of paved roads in Korea is 67,265 Km, and among these roads, about 40% of the national highways and 98% of local roads are paved with asphalt concrete. The major distress to asphalt pavement is rutting and fatigue crack. The permanent deformation including rutting accounts for about 75% of this distress. UTW(Ultra-Thin Whitetopping), which is known for its high-quality performance in asphalt pavement with rutting and cracking, seems to reduce maintenance costs significantly if it is used as the maintenance/repair method for domestic asphalt pavement. In the research, static load test was conducted to establish a behavior of Whitetopping under traffic and environmental condition. It showed that the effect of the thickness of the concrete layer and the temperature change was significant. In addition, the tensile strain as the wheel load position was close to interior and edge of concrete slab were increased up to 75% of maximum tensile strain. It showed that joint spacing must be considered in UTW design procedure.

This study suggests a model of experimental visual artworks with interactive art forms in which 2-D paintings are transformed to interactive 3-D animation works. Multimedia programming was employed to evolve objective still paintings to the animation of computer 3-D images with respect to visual ideas derived from visual components in the still painting and to response to the reactions users. The format and technique of the art works are based upon the contents developed by the author and the research materials are selected from the surrealistic paintings of tile world-famous Belgian painter, Rene Magritte. In the present paper, following topics are discussed in detail: a study of various visual cases occurring in transforming still paintings to animation works containing interactive components; a study of 3-D imaging and image processing techniques to transform 2-D paintings to 3-D images; animation techniques for interaction and overall structuring techniques; multimedia programming and user interface.
